FCS integraton with AVECO automation's MAM

Hi,
I need to know about how and whom to contact in APPLE who could give me the details and technical support so that we can integrate our FCS MAM with our centralised Automation which is having its own MAM.SO we need to integrate Aveco with FCS to acheive single point metadata entries and search options,so that we can insert the metadat from Avceo MAM interface and at the backen it handsahkes with FCS MAM.and at NLE we will give FCS to serach the same Metadata and media which was archived via AVECO interface(nd ofcourse with the help of FCS).
We have Quantum+ storenext Tape libraray solution at backend and XSAN as ONline storage.
Also we have Omneon Video servers for playout and ingest applications which arre being controlled and goverend by AVECO automation & MAM.
I need to have the contact info of the best guy from APPLE who can guide me in acheving this integration.

  • How are you currently using video with marketing automation?

    I manage an educational site through Brightcove called Video Marketing Academy. I would like to create a course to tackle the challenges of using video with a marketing automation platform. I’d love to know how you are currently using video with marketing automation, what your results have been, and what are some of the challenges that you are running into?
    I understand some of this maybe platform specific, but I would like to understand the challenges and help from a strategy and best practice perspective.
    videomarketingacademy.brightcove.com

    Well you certainly hit some good ones. When it comes to marketing automation I'm always game for more flexibility with anything, for instance I would love to have more conditional options on form processing conditions, and I know that has nothing to do with video but it goes to your answer, anyway that you can give a marketer more flexibility with filters or conditions or what not the better when it comes to lead scoring, campaign options, and reporting the better.
    If one could integrate Video reporting into Eloqua I think that would be cool, I know that would be very challenging because of how Eloqua reporting works, but it would make it a one stop shop which isn't bad,

  • Modbus communication with an automation direct GS2 AC Drive

    Has anyone written any VI's to communicate with an automation direct GS2-41P0 AC Drive using modbus?  I need to ask the unit a few questions while it is running and possibly start and stop it.  I have started searching around and found the NIModbus VI's.  I just have not figured out how to modify them to suit my needs yet (I just started playing with this today).  So far it looks like Modbus might make my head explode, but I am hoping it is easier than it looks at first.
    Bryan

    Hi Bryan,
    I've never tried using modbus to communicate with that particular device, but if you have any specific questions I'll do my best to answer them.
    Also, you may be interested to know that the AutomationDirect GS2 Drive is supported by our NI-OPC Server, which may be a more attractive alternative to modbus.  I highly recommend you take a look at the LabVIEW Datalogging and Supervisory Control (DSC) module (wihch includes NI-OPC Server) to see if it is something your application would benefit from.

  • Issues with Transition Automation Packs

    Hi,
    We are facing an issue with transition automation packs. We have an extended property which is (became) part of "Transition Automation Pack for 'Cisco Systems, Inc." And we do not see any option to remove the same. We can see that certain other automation packs have the option to remove (remove button). Any idea, on what could be the issue? or Any comments?
    Thanks,
    Vijay

    It's my understanding that you cannot remove an automation pack if there are dependencies on it.  Perhaps your content has references to the extended target properties in this automation pack.

  • Convert dotx or docx to pdf with Word Automation Service failed

    Hello everybody,
    After search on the internet, I'm looking for a solution to this issue.
    I wrote this code for a document conversion in a visual studio 2010 workflow:
    string wordAutomationServiceName = "Word Automation Service";
    ConversionJobSettings jobSettings = new ConversionJobSettings();
    jobSettings.OutputFormat = SaveFormat.PDF;
    ConversionJob job = new ConversionJob(wordAutomationServiceName, jobSettings);
    job.UserToken = workflowProperties.Site.UserToken;
    job.AddFile(workflowProperties.WebUrl + "/" + file.Url,
    workflowProperties.WebUrl + "/" + file.Url.Replace(".docx", ".pdf"));
    job.Start();
    URLs are corrects and the word document exists.
    The problem is when the job is executed, I have errors in SharePoint logs:

    Hi Jean,
    Were you able to resolve this?  I am coming across the exact same error on a SharePoint 2010 development machine.  I don't see any other posts on the web about it.  Here is the entry from my ULS logs:
    Local Controller 'fc8b8704-f0f1-4e85-a69a-dc5686c27e39': Failure: <http://ip-0a6ee272/Shared%20Documents/Word/hello.docx> not uploaded to <http://ip-0a6ee272/Shared%20Documents/PDF/hello.pdf>
    (65543)
    Do we share any of the following configuration points?  I'm trying to narrow down the potential root cause ...
    MSDN subscriber EXE install media "SharePoint Server 2010 with Service Pack 1 (x64) - (English)"
    SP1 slipstream patch level.  No cumulative updates.
    http://autospinstaller.codeplex.com/  PowerShell scripted install
    SQL 2008 R2 installed on same box as SharePoint
    Active Directory domain controller on same box as SharePoint
    c:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\HOSTS file 127.0.0.1 entry for both machine and domain name
    Thanks in advance for the research.
    I've actually tried re-installing SharePoint several times on brand new virtual machines.  That did not resolve the issue.  Strangely enough, the RTM version of SharePoint appears to work just fine.  With all other configuration points the
    same, I loaded RTM ... ran a Word Automation PowerShell script ... and received the expected PDF output.  Then when I apply the SP1 patch ... it stops working and I get error 65543.
    Best,

  • Help with PDF automation?

    Hello there. I would like to know how you can automate a bunch of word documents, web achieve and other written documents into PDF with automator or another application if not that with program?
    I can convert them into PDF individualy but I do have quite a few and wondering if theres a better way of doing it.
    Thx.
    Dorian

    Dorian,
    Please see my post in your other inquiry for examples of developed software.
    There may also be ways of using AppleScript combined with Automator to try and manipulate the user interface with applications that you already have on your computer. For example the print dialog in Word with its PDF button can be automated.
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=3844201#3844201
    These automation methods can be slower and due to their nature more prone to having problems than the developed software. However, they can be tailor made for your particular case.

  • Hadoop as a service  with vRealize Automation

    Hello All,
    I am looking for Serengeti documentation which can help me deploy different distributions of Hadoop using vRealize orchestrator. Can some one point me to the documentation / article / blog which can help me achieve this?
    Scenario i am working on is  described below:
    1. I have vRealize Automation configured in test environment.
    2. BDE installed and configured with vCenter and vRealize Orchestrator.
    3. Hadoop as a service configured in vRealize Automation with default workflows provided with BDE plugin.
    4. When i try to deploy Hadoop cluster using vRealize Automation, there is no option to select another distribution.
    Do i need another workflow to deploy different distribution or i can tweek some parameters in existing workflow to enable me to deploy different distributions? Has any one tried this?

    You need to tweek your workflow to retrieve all the available distributions on the BDE Server by calling BDE REST API  https://<bde_server_ip>:8443/serengeti/api/distros .  Then in the workflow of creating a cluster, the json body should be like this :
    {"name": "cluster_name", "distro": "the_distro_name", "type": "HDFS_MAPRED", "networkConfig": { "MGT_NETWORK": ["defaultNetwork"]} }
    You can get the BDE REST API doc through the following steps.
         ssh to your Serengeti Management server in BDE vAPP.
         run  " /opt/serengeti/sbin/cfgrestschema on "
         then you can see the API doc in "http://<Serengeti Management Server IP>:8080/restschema/service?APPLICATION=BigDataExtensions"
    Big Data Extensions uses Spring Security In-Memory Authentication for authentication and user management.
    The Spring Security provides a default authentication URL that monitored by the authentication filter. To be authenticated, you must send a HTTP POST request to this URL with correct vc user name and password in the request body.
    The authentication URL is:
    https://hostname:8443/serengeti/j_spring_security_check
    The HTTP request body is:
    j_username=replace-with-your-vc-username&j_password=replace-with-your-vc-password
    The Content-Type header in the HTTP request should be:
    'application/x-www-form-urlencoded'
    On unsuccessful authentication, the HTTP response code is 401 (unauthorized); On successful authentication, the HTTP response code is 200 (OK) and Spring Security returns a cookie in the HTTP response header (using Set-Cookie). The session id must be put into the request header in order to access the REST APIs and logout. By default, the session timeout is 30 minutes.
    You may try sending an authentication request by using LINUX command 'curl':
    curl -i -k -d 'j_username=replace-with-your-vc-username&j_password=replace-with-your-vc-password' -X POST https://hostname:8443/serengeti/j_spring_security_check
    On successful authentication, you will receive the HTTP response like:
    HTTP/1.1 200 OK
    Server: Apache-Coyote/1.1
    Set-Cookie: JSESSIONID=session-id-value; Path=/serengeti; Secure
    Content-Length: 0
    Date: Wed, 27 Aug 2014 11:58:17 GMT
    Connection: keep-alive
    Length: 0
    Big Data Extensions uses an HTTPS server with a self-signed certificate. For this reason, the client may need to implement a certificate trust mechanism or just ignore the certificate validation.

  • Is it possible to automate software instrument parameters in a MIDI region? And alias the region with the automation?

    I am trying to track down a detail about how automation works in Logic Pro X.
    What I want to know is:
    1. Can I draw control-point curves (and smoothly bend them) in a MIDI region to automate a software instrument parameter (and/or smart controls)?
    2. Can a region containing this automation be aliased and reused around the timeline (without the automation points being duplicated)?
    If this is possible, can someone please post a couple of screenshots - a MIDI region with MIDI Draw automating (for example) the cutoff of an ES M, and screenshots of aliases around the timeline?
    thanks!!
    H

    First, I'd recommend going to Track>other>new with same instrument.  This gives you a blank lane to make a region with no notes.
    Now, there are two strategies: do some track automation and then convert it to region. You can go into the local view menu and find the option to view MIDI automation and still adjust it.  Now you can make aliases of that region. You need to be careful of accidentally writing new track automation, which is easy to do and can happen if you have 'move automation with regions' on for instance.  If you make sure and delete all the track auto for this parameter you should be good (the line should be barely visible black, if it is highlighted in color, that means there is at least one active node at the beginning).  If the parameter freaks out, instead of following your curve, you can bet there is track automation fighting with the region automation, you might need to tell the automation menu in the track header to show the parameter in question.  None of this is a big deal and after doing it once you'll see.
    The other strategy is to assign a controller to a parameter (or use the quick MIDI things on certain instruments - you mentioned ES2, which has that) and you can use the hyper draw in the piano roll.  The view tip from the first strategy still works so you can edit the automation in the arrange.  I prefer the first strategy because the knob you are automating will still move.
    If you go to audio tuts plus (something like that) you can find a tut on the first method that's a few years old, and from Logic 9.  Basically the same, you just have to look through different menus for everything.

  • How to rotate PDF with the automator?

    Hello everybody!
    I'd like to create a WorkFlow to rotate all the selected PDFs (one page PDF) of 90º.
    In the PDFs section of the Automator there isn't anything like that.
    Somebody can help me how to do it?
    Thks a lot!
    Enrico

    Hello
    You may use something like the following script, which will rotate pdf files on desktop by 90° CW (clock-wise) and save the rotated pdfs in ~/desktop/out directory with name with _RC90 appended; e.g. Given original name = abc.pdf, rotated pdf = abc_RC90.pdf. The ouput directory, if specified, must be present in advance. If ouput directory is not specified, rotated file is save in the same directory as the original resides in. Specify -90 or 270 to rotate 90° CCW (counter-clock-wise).
    #!/bin/bash
    cd ~/desktop || exit
    /System/Library/Frameworks/Ruby.framework/Versions/1.8/usr/bin/ruby -w <<'EOF' - 90 *.pdf out
    #      ARGV = angle pdf [pdf ...] [output_directory]
    #      * angle is measured in clock-wise and must be one of [-270, -180, -90, 90, 180, 270]
    require 'osx/cocoa'
    OSX.require_framework 'PDFKit'
    include OSX
    def usage
         raise ArgumentError, "Usage: #{File.basename($0)} angle pdf [pdf ...] [output_directory]"
    end
    usage unless ARGV.length > 1
    outdir = File.directory?(ARGV.last) ? ARGV.pop : nil
    usage unless ARGV.length > 1
    rota = (ARGV.shift.to_i + 360) % 360
    usage unless [90, 180, 270].include? rota
    ARGV.select { |f| File.file?(f) }.each do |f|
         url = NSURL.fileURLWithPath(f)
         doc = PDFDocument.alloc.initWithURL(url)
         unless doc
              $stderr.puts "Not a pdf file: %s" % [File.expand_path(f)]
              next
         end
         (0 .. (doc.pageCount - 1)).each { |i| doc.pageAtIndex(i).setRotation(rota) }
         bname = File.basename(f).sub(/\.pdf$/i, '')
         odir = outdir ? outdir : File.dirname(f)
         doc.writeToFile("#{odir}/#{bname}_RC#{rota}.pdf")
    end
    EOF
    In order to make this as Automator workflow, use Run Shell Script action as follows.
    shell = /bin/bash
    pass input = as argument
    code = as follows:
    /System/Library/Frameworks/Ruby.framework/Versions/1.8/usr/bin/ruby -w <<'EOF' - 90 "$@"
    #      ARGV = angle pdf [pdf ...] [output_directory]
    #      * angle is measured in clock-wise and must be one of [-270, -180, -90, 90, 180, 270]
    require 'osx/cocoa'
    OSX.require_framework 'PDFKit'
    include OSX
    def usage
         raise ArgumentError, "Usage: #{File.basename($0)} angle pdf [pdf ...] [output_directory]"
    end
    usage unless ARGV.length > 1
    outdir = File.directory?(ARGV.last) ? ARGV.pop : nil
    usage unless ARGV.length > 1
    rota = (ARGV.shift.to_i + 360) % 360
    usage unless [90, 180, 270].include? rota
    ARGV.select { |f| File.file?(f) }.each do |f|
         url = NSURL.fileURLWithPath(f)
         doc = PDFDocument.alloc.initWithURL(url)
         unless doc
              $stderr.puts "Not a pdf file: %s" % [File.expand_path(f)]
              next
         end
         (0 .. (doc.pageCount - 1)).each { |i| doc.pageAtIndex(i).setRotation(rota) }
         bname = File.basename(f).sub(/\.pdf$/i, '')
         odir = outdir ? outdir : File.dirname(f)
         doc.writeToFile("#{odir}/#{bname}_RC#{rota}.pdf")
    end
    EOF
    An Automator service will look something like this.
    Tested under 10.6.8.
    Good luck,
    H

  • Need help with an automator workflow to convert AAC files to MP3

    Hi
    I am trying to work out a way to automatically convert voice memos which I dictate on my iPhone to MP3 files when they are added to my iTunes library during a sync. Then I need the converted files to be in a specific folder so that they will trigger an auto-transcription program that I have running.
    From my limited knowledge of automating processes on my Mac it would seem that I need to design a workflow or a folder action in Automator. Probably a folder action would be best, as I could attach it to the 'Voice Memos' folder in my iTunes Music Folder. The converted MP3 files would be saved in the same folder and would then be recognised by the transcription program. I have tried to design a workflow/folder action using Doug's iTunes automator actions as follows, but it is not working as I would like. The workflow is as follows:
    Folder Action/Get Folder Contents/Choose encoder (MP3)/Convert Tracks/Choose encoder (apple lossless)/Restore Encoder.
    The folder action is triggered when I add AAC files to the folder I have attached the action to, but then I get an error message stating that 'no tracks have been sent to this action'.
    i would be grateful for any help to get this working using the automator method or another method
    thanks

  • Problem with Excel automation refnum

    While presenting ActiveX functions to students, I ran into an unexpected problem : only half of the PCs were able to work with Excel after the initial basic steps :
    place an automation refnum on the front panel
    right-click the automation refnum, then select ActiveX class, then select browse
    find Microsoft Excel objects library and select application
    connect an Automation open function
    etc...
    What happened is that an error 3005 (Automation Open: Object specified is not creatable in ... ) was generated on half the machines, while everything was running smoothly on the others.
    A workaround was to grab a working automation refnum control from the examples shipped with LabVIEW. The icon appears different and has a black arrow instead of the purple one got from the refnums palette. But even with this refnum, the problem could be reproduced when the activeX class was changed forth and back !
    All the systems (Windows XP- LV 8.2) and machines were identical, configured initially from the same disk image.
    Do you an idea of what's going on there ? Do you know where I  can get the black-arrowed automation refnum ?

  • AE stabilizing, with script - automation - ?

    hello
    i have a question to the stabilizing option in ae...
    i´m looking for some kind of automation for a filmproject...evrything is shot to zoom in 8%. is it possible to zoom in 8% and stabilize whats automaticly possible?
    i know this is not the way to work with stabilisation- cause its important to have a personal look on it, but the material has to be scaled 8%. evrything is handheld, so this could be yoused tho smoth it a bit?
    thank you for youre help
    cw

    Warp stabilizing a shot depends on the shot. You can't setup a bunch of standard values and have them work for every shot. Can't be done. Each shot must be evaluated and then you must make adjustments based on that specific shot to optimize the shot. Once the shot is optimized it is a very wise workflow to render an digital intermediate for use in the rest of your project. Everything will go better if you do that.

  • Help with AppleScript/ Automator Code

    I am an intern at an architecture firm, and I would like to know if there is any way to code a program (using AppleScript or Automator) to complete this task:
    Combine files that have similar file names into a folder and rename the file as the first file automatically. There are hundreds of files, and an expedient and efficient way of completing this task would be greatly appreciated.
    For example:
    I have files:
    07-480-1.jpg
    07-480-2.jpg
    07-480-3.jpg
    07-480-4.jpg
    07-481-1.jpg
    07-481-2.jpg
    07-481-3.jpg
    07-481-4.jpg
    07-481-5.jpg
    I want to select files names with similar characters (07-480 and 07-481) and place them into respective folders.
    So the folders would be called
    07-480-1
    07-481-1
    Any advice would be helpful.
    Thank You!
    OSX 10.9.5

    Almost anything is possible... the issue is the work-effort required to achieve the desired result.
    In this case there are a lot of variables that you haven't covered, which may make the job easier or harder.
    For example, you give a series of example file names, and appear to want to group them by the same initial 6 characters (although your example seems to create folder names based on the first 8 characters of the first match... is that true? Without knowing the background, I would expect '07-480-1.jpg' to go into the  '07-480' folder, not the '07-481-1' folder). Those kinds of details will make a difference.
    So if my theory is correct ('07-480' should be the folder name), do you want to create a folder every time? or only when there are two or more files (e.g. do you want an '07-490' folder when there's only one relevant file?
    Here's a starting point. I'm assuming that you want the '07-480' form of the folder. When the script runs it will ask for the folder to check, then (blindly) iterate through the files in that folder, moving them into folders based on the first 6 characters of the file name, making new folders as needed:
    tell application "Finder"
      set theFolder to (choose folder)
      repeat with eachfile in (get files of theFolder)
      -- assume the standard filename format
      -- may need error checking here to make sure the name matches what we expect
      -- for now we just skip over any errors through the use of a try statement
      try
      -- get the first 6 characters of the file name
      set basename to characters 1 through 6 of (get name of eachfile) as text
      -- check if we already have a folder of the desired name
      if (not (exists folder basename of theFolder)) then
      -- we don't, so make one
      make new folder at theFolder with properties {name:basename}
      end if
      -- now move the file into the folder
      move eachfile to folder basename of theFolder
      end try
      end repeat
    end tell
