FDM connecting to SAPBW

Hi All,
Is it possible in 11.1.2.1,if we can load data from SAPBW to FDM using adapters?
I know we can do from SAP G/L but not sure about BW.
Please suggest.

With the release of ERP Central Component (SAP ECC) SAP BW was merged into this product, so theoretically the answer is yes if you have ECC6.0, but if you are just talking about stndalone SAP BW then no.

Integration with EBS HR & Fixed Asset module

Let me know the integration possibilities between:
a) Oracle's EBS's HRMS module and Workforce Planning
b) Oracle's EBS's Fixed Assets module and Workforce Capex Planning
c) Oracle's EBS's AP module and Financial Planning

I am assuming you are implementing Hyperion Workforce/Capex out of the box, right?
In either case (out of the box/custom)... you have (at least) options.
1) Export a flat file from the EBS HRMS/Fixed Asset system and load via FDM.
2) Have FDM connect (via an FDM script) to the EBS HRMS/Fixed Asset database system and pull the correct data needed. This option is assuming you know the HRMS/Fixed Asset database table structure.
I know this is a FDM forum but another option is Oracle Data Integrator (ODI).

SmartView 11.1.2.2-drill down with attribute dimensions

In Smartview 11.1.2.2.300, we have noticed that if we exclude attribute dimensions from our report, then we are able to drill down to Bottom level on all our reports; but if there are attribute dimensions listed, then it throws errors. Is it an option to drill down to bottom level, while keeping the attribute dimensions in the report? Thanks.

According to Oracle that still relates to a timeout error: SmartView Error "XML Load Error: DTD is prohibited [ID 1059964.1]
Update the registry on the client machine with the following settings:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings]
"ReceiveTimeout"=dword:00075300
"KeepAliveTimeout"=dword:000493e0
"ServerInfoTimeout"=dword:000493e0
You may need to reboot, I've seen it make a difference without the need.
Is this an FDM connection?

Data import from EBS failed via FDMEE in fdm . Getting error message as "Error connecting to AIF URL.

Getting this error in ErpiIntergrator0.log . ODI session ID were not generated in ODI / FDMEE. If I import from FDMEE its importing data from EBS.

FDM 11.1.2.1 cannot connect to Essbase

Hi All,
I've been using FDM for a while but am new to version 11.1.2.1.
When i set up my connection from the workbench i'm not able to connect to the essbase server.
I keep getting a connection failed in the target dimension drop down.
I've used both the server name and the (new?) clustername in the target machine.
I use the admin account so ít's not in the user rights.
Does anyone know what's different in 11.1.2.1 and could cause this problem?

When i use the server name i just see 'connection failed.' in the target dimension field in the integration settings of the workbench client.

FDM 11.1.2 connect to Essbase

Dear All,
I installed FDM 11.1.2 & Planning 11.1.2.
After config FDM (Adapter & Dimension Setting), I found no item from the period/Category/Year in control tables. Also, there is no error message found from FDM and Essbase.
How can I get connect to Essbase from FDM?
I already done following items
1. import and register "ES11X-G4-G.xml" and "upsES11XG4G.exe"
2. Add machine profile
3. Map FDM Dimension to Essbase Dimension.

A) Login to the Application using the workbench client
B) Expand Target System Adapters and right-click on the Essbase Adapter and choose "configure"
C) Click on the Dimensions tab
D) In the left-pane scroll down to see the global dims "Period, Year, Category"
E) Click on each one and choose the corresponding dimension from the essbase outline from the drop down list to populate the Foreign Name field.
*Note: If you do not have a year dimension, uncheck the "user list" option on the Year Dimension.

Essbase connection to FDM

Hi ,
Can anybody tell me how to set adapters from FDM to Essbase? I heard that it is different for essbase, not like HFM, need to create for each and every dimension.. Where can i get the documentation for this.

I will lay out some high level steps of what needs to be done for the adapter:
a) FDM uses the Essbase 32 bit Runtime Client. You will need to register the essbase adapter .exe within the Hyperion\Essbase\Essbase CLient\Bin directory
b) The adapter .xml file will need to be imported into the application using the workbench client using File >import
c) The adapter can be configured by right-clicking on the adpater in the workbench and choosing "Configure"
d) Create a machine profile for each FDM application server and enter the target machine as the Essbase Server Name.
e) Click on the Hyperion Essbase Integration Setup tab and on the connect button specify the essbase application/database name and also logon method.
f) Click on the dimensions tab to set the dimensions in the adapter to point to the proper dimensions in the essbase outline.
Hope this is a helpful high level setup.

Unable to connect to FDM workbench and workspace Authentication failure 2007

I am not able to login to FDM workbench and workspace through Admin user . when i tried to login i am getting Authentication Failure 2007 message.
i had created .udl file and checked whether its connecting to SQL DB its working fine i am getting successful message .
i had checked whether the user is in tsecusers in database tables . i am able to see Admin user in tsecuser in database tables
Hi tried deprovisioned the Admin user and reprovisioned the user but no luck
but when i created new user and given permission to Application has a Administrator . its working fine with new user .
How can i connect with Admin user .

i had raised a SR in my oracle support waiting for reply . Its upgrade application from 11.1.1.3 to 11.1.2.2 . i am not able to connect from Admin user also .
In SQL DB UniqueID is NULL
after removing admin from tsecuser user i am able to add also in tsecuser.

Unable to connect to Database Error in FDM application creation

Hi All,
I have Installed Financial Data Quality Management 11.1.2.2 in my machine. Database [Oracle 11g R2 64 bit] and client[Oracle client 32 bit] also installed in the same machine.
We selected the following components while installing Oracle client[Custom installation],
Oracle Objects for OLE
Oracle Data Provider for .NET
Oracle Providers for ASP.NET
Oracle Provider for OLEDB
Complete the install.
When I tried to create FDM application it throws me the following error. Unable to connect to Database. Please check the database information and verify the database is accessible.
Kindly guide me to overcome this issue.

Hi Sai,
first of all, you have posted FDM issue in Essbase forum. Thats the reason you didn't get replies to this issue.
To resolve this, we need to Oracle Client 32 bit first then Oracle Client 64 bit.
Install Oracle Clients completly. (As per documentation, we need to install Clients completly. Means choose Administrator, not instant client and custom)
After installing also if get same error, Goto Environment variables, Edit PATH variable and copy the 32 bit Client path to the first in the PATH variable.
Then reboot the Server and try again to create FDM application.

SAPBW connection

Dear Expert,
I am trying to connect SAP BW with Business objects, once I select SAP BW and give the required credential for connection I am getting the bellow error
DBD: An error occurred while trying to load the provider for transport sap. Failed to load library mda_sap. System error message: The specified module could not be found
I didnu2019t install sap integration kit, for sap BW connection with bobj is the sap integration needed so how can I install.

When I try to install BO kit for sap solutions I am getting the following error.

For above error these are the suggested solutions on sap.

Cause
The Web Application Container Server (WACS) is not a supported application server for the Business Objects XI Integration for SAP Solutions.
To use .NET InfoView on IIS together with BusinessObjects XI Integration for SAP Solutions, you are still required to install backend applications such as CMC or Web Services on a supported Java application server.
Resolution
To solve this issue, uninstall the Web Application Container Server (WACS)
- From the Control Panel select Add or Remove Programs
- Select the installation of Business Objects xi 3.1 and click Change
- Within the Installer select Modify
- Select Server Components > Web Application Container Server
- Choose the option : The entire Feature will be unavailable

FDM Essbase Connection

Hi,
Has anyone had this problem before. This is a new installation of Planning/Essbase/FDM. I get the following message when trying to drill back into Essbase for a member name in the Maps module of FDM.
Error: Essbase API procedure : (EsbInit) threw code : 1030724 -, at line 128
I have checked the integration, dcom and environment variable settings. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
Such problem occurs when you checked the Dimension Cache Switch under Adaptor intregation setup tab.
The "Dimension Cache Swich" is ticked in the adaptor's Integration Setup tab, Browse button. However, the script "ES_UpdateDimCache" has not been ran after making modifications in the Essbase cube.
To Fix this Problem, perform these steps:
1.     Launch the Workbench and log in the appropriate FDM application.
2.     Select the Essbase adapter, right click on properties and "Configure".
3.     Then, select the Hyperion Integration Setup tab, click on the Browse button and remove the tick from the "Dimension Cache Switch".
4.     Save the changes and exit.
5.     Confirm that the error message is no longer appearing and you are able to browse to all the target dimensions.
Alternatively, tick the "Dimension Cache Switch" but make sure to run the "ES_UpdateDimCache" every time changes occur in the Essbase cube.
It will definitely work.

FDM - Multiload - VBScript problems connecting multiload type library

I'm trying to figure out how to tell that how many periods a mutliload text file contains in a multiloadaction. I have tried to use the fStructGetText-function with the return type strEndPer
The problem is that I don't get any results and I'm really stuck here and I have tried a lot of different alternatives.
e.g.
Version 1
DEndDate = MULTIENG.fStructGetText(strFilePath, RES.FDMTrue).strEndPer
Version 2 - "Copied idea from API guide"

I guess the problem is that I really can't / know how to connect to the mutliload supplement type library. I have read the API guide, but it just don't get it to work. Any ideas?

One simple way to achieve this would be to read the multiload file via the FileSystemObject and read the fourth header line in the file which contains the number of periods to be loaded
objLSItem.PstrFilePath will return you the filepath of the active multiload file

There really aren't restrictions on the method you expose as a web service. You can make JDBC calls into a database or call an EJB, etc.
