FDM Email Notification Problem

Hello every one
i have configured my cisco LMS Email Notification Group and evrything works fine sending and receving , excpet that the FDM sent the Email without displaying the Device Name only the IP address in the Object ID .

By deafult DFM does not use the DCR Display Name. check the below link:

To overcome this :
1> Added the Device Name and IP address on the DNS Server
2> Modified NMSROOT/objects/smarts/conf/discovery/discovery.conf, and changed the DisplayNameFormat from "AUTOASSIGNED" to "MIBIISYSNAME".
That caused DFM to display the sysName as the display name.
Also set the NameFormat to TM_USEAUTONAME, then restarted daemon Manager (net stop crmdmgtd && net start crmdmgtd )
Open name-resolver.conf file and make same changes that we have made in discovery.conf. ie, the following entry should be there in this file also.
#NameFormat = "TM_USESEEDNAME"
NameFormat = "TM_USEAUTONAME"
3> Delete and re-add a device in DFM

LMS 3.2 DFM email notification problem

Hi,
I got a problem in a newly installed LMS 3.2 with the DFM email notification.
I can see the alerts appering on Alerts&Activities, but DFM would not send any emails.
I can get emails from other moduls of LMS. CS sends me emails from successfully backups.
The SNMP Server works fine. The settings are ok.
I already reinstalled DFM.
I have seen a thread exists on supportforum.cisco.com with the same problem.

Email notification problems

Used to be the email notification appeared in my outlook in box and then disappeared when the message was delivered. Now it just stays there and also appears in my 8830. How can I fix this problems? Thanks.

IPhone 4 email notification problems! Please Help

Email notifications wont work anymore on the iPhone 4 anymore. I have to manually click the email app. Is anyone else having this problem or does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Oh, OK, so your big issue is with Notification Center. Personally, I have mail off in Notification Center, but my iPhone buzzes anyway when locked, which happens to be enough info for me.
But I see your original post says you have set up Notification Center properly to give you visual as well as audio clues you have email waiting, but it's not working.
I wonder if resetting your iPhone would help. Try holding the home and on/off buttons together for about 10 seconds till the Apple logo appears.

Anyone has email notification problem w/ the droid & default email app?

Just want to see if anyone/everyone out there has the same problem getting email notificaiton using default email app for gmail or any other email with all the setting enabled. (I am not talking about gmail email app)

Interesting......I did receive a notification on 11/11 for my bill due 12/2. I have not received a notification for my bill due 1/1 and I received the 1/1 paper bill today. Just checked my Account Profile and found that the Bill Notifications box was not checked and I think that is the setting that controls the bill notification email (and/or SMS). I have been getting notifications each month for quite a while, so I am guessing some Verizon maintenance update caused the check to be removed. I have activated Bill Notification again so now I guess I just have to wait and see if I get one next month.
I suggest you check your account profile to see if the Bill Notifications setting has somehow been turned off.
Edit: I See you edited your post while I was writing mine. I do not use paper-free billing so that is one difference.

Email Notifications problem with iphone 4

I can't seem to turn of my email notifications sound for either mbox mail or "iphone mail" (googlemail account), unless the phone is on silent. For the mbox mail I've gone to settings>mbox mail>sounds and turned them off for new mail and sent mail, but I still get an alert sound when new mail comes through. The only way I can stop it is to turn off push mail notifications in the mbox mail program itself, but then obviously I have to then manually fetch my mail which is not ideal.
For the "iphone mail" i've gone to settings>sounds>new mail and turned it off, but I still get a notification sound.
Has anyone else found this or am I doing something wrong?

Ok, so now I've managed to turn the sounds off for "iphone mail", but now push mail is not working for mbox mail. Do I need to turn the phone off and on for changes in mbox mail to take effect?

HTMLDB/APEX - Email notification problem

Email notification is not sent AUTOMATICALLY to the user's email address when 'reset password' functionality is used or the administrator changes the password.
I managed to do that by drilling down to Home> Manage Service> Manage Mail Queue and pressing 'Send All Mail'. Is there a way to get it automated?

Once your mail request has been submitted try pushing the queue using apex_mail.push_queue(). The default wait time is going to be 10 or 15 minutes if set up to do so.

Email notification problem on the scsm additional server

Hi all :)
we have a SCSM management server with some OS issues, i have been asked to install additional SCSM management server and remove the old one, so i prepared another server and i did install a SCSM management server role on that server (in the installation
wizard i did point to the Service manager DB from the old server) then the installation has been completed successfully and the new server shows the exact same data as the old one, i have also promoted the new server to be the main server,
when i shutdown the old server the new server works fine but
the outbound emails notification doesn't work for some reason, i have
tested sending an email via telnet using the SCSM workflow account and it works fine !! , any one can help me please ???

you can make the new server a workflow server by following the guide under Step 1 - Reconfigure the Workflow Server, from the article I posted:

but you said, that you have already done it, so your new server has to be the workflow server. This you can check again with the query:

Email Notification Problem

Hi,
We are currently having a few issues with the email activity. We can send email successfully, but at present only with the email body text as an html attachment.
The few queries we have are:
1 ) Does the email body have to be sent as an attachment (i.e. is this the functionality of the email activity?)
2 ) The multipart message setting doesn't always retain the value entered. For example, if i was to set the value to 0, Jdeveloper would reset it to 1. At present i am assuming this is because of the email body being sent as an attachment. Does Jdeveloper have rules governing value settings?
3 ) When setting an attachment such as a pdf, copy rules are created automatically by the email activity according to the multipart message setting. The problem we are having is that when editing each rule we get the message:
"XML schema type 'anyType' and xml schema elements 'any' and 'anyAttribute' are not supported in the UI, but it is supported in the server. You can still try to type in XPath in the text area below."
This means that we have to manually enter the multipart message path in the XPath textbox to set an attachment. Is there a better way than this?

Hi Gull ,
When you add an email activity to your process,by default it sets the email body as multi part.In case you want to send a plain text email ,you can try out a work around i applied (Though i have not applied any patch).Go to the source .bpel file of your process and comment the section in the main sequence where the mixed message content is stated.
1.Comment or remove that particular section.

2.And add the following..
<copy>
<from expression="string('Hello.Any message you want enter')"/>
<to variable="varNotificationReq" part="EmailPayload"
query="/EmailPayload/ns1:Content/ns1:ContentBody"/>
</copy>
or you can go back to the daigram tab,click on the email activity enter your message.Just remember to uncheck the Multipart Message option(coz by deafult it gets checked).And Apply .
See if this helps..Cant say if the current patch solves this problem completely.

EWA Report Issue: Email notification problem

Hi,
I am running into a problem while sending EWA notifications to the concerned members. I have defined the needed user ids in table "DSWP_SYS_EMAIL" and all the members are duly getting all the EWA alerts defined against respective systems except one user. I have checked in SOST, this user name is not displayed every monday when these EWA reports are sent. I am not sure where else I have to look for solving this error. May any one please help and guide me in this?

Thanks for your reply. I had updated the respective user id in the above way mentioned by you last week and it seems now the user has received it (checked in SOST and user was sent EWA report).
However, if the BADI is acitivated (as we are specifying the user ides for each system) why I need to mention this user in separately? I believe, any one of them will be active...Am I correct in this/

Email notification in the COPY BADI

Hi,
I am having an email notification problem. Pls let me know what is the mistake i am doing here.
In the COPY BADI, i have a check whether to create follow on based on the user auth. If the follow is not allowed for a particular user i am raising do_no_copy exception and then sending an email to the user. I dont see any errors while debugging for the send email FM. But i dont see in SOST any email.
SCOT settings are done perfectly (email notification is working for creation of the documents).

FDM Classic Email Notification

I hope somebody can help me resolve an email notification issue. Using the FDM accelerators, I generated the send mail script and appended it to the AftExportToDat event. The email generates but it continuously sends the email nonstop for one load event. Can anybody assist?

As I was trying to address the problem I posted above, I decided to revert back to the original problem that I was having. I have an inherited Batch load script that does the load, publish the process report, and sends the email. The script works with 2 other FDM applications in the same environment. However, with the new FDM application I recently built, it continuously publishes a report and sends an email.
Based on my testing, it looks like the .lngStatus value is always equal 31 and does not reset and thus the report is always being generated and resent. I double/tripled check the configuration and integration settings and they appear correct.
Can you help me figure out what is going on? I am new with FDM.

Problem in attaching a xml file in Email Notification

Hi,
I am new to BPEL. I am using 10.1.3.4 Jdev. Facing a problem in attaching a xml file in Email Notification process. I do not get any email when ever the attachment is a xml. Whereas when the attachment is a pdf, i get the pdf in the mail. I have put the mime type as text/xml. Used ora:doc() to read the xml. Dont know what i am missing. Please help me out. Thanks.

Problem in sending Email notification from BPEL

i am trying to send email from BPEL using Email activity.Using SoaSuite10.1.3.3
i configured the ns_emails.xml file properly as below.
when i run the process, it is executing fine without any error.
but i am not receiving any mail.

3. Re-start all SOA Suite services. (opmnctl startall)
After the BPEL process invoke any E-mail notification activity and if we can’t receive any E-mail notification, we need to check the BPELNOTIFICATION table (ORABPEL database schema). And delete any error data in this table, then correct the E-mail notification setting through above steps and re-start all SOA Suite services.

For about two weeks I have not been getting my email notification, I have to go in to the mail app and retreive them manualy.Anyone else having this problem?

Judging by the number of other threads on this, yes many people have been having Yahoo mail issues with push, and it appears to be on Yahoo's side, not Apple's.
