FDM Mapping with HFM

Hi,
I am new to HFM.Can any one pls clarify me these...
Do we build meta data at HFM or FDM?
When New members to be added, what do we do?
Do we always manage meta data through FDM?
Thanks in advance.

Do we build meta data at HFM or FDM?
We build data in HFM.
When New members to be added, what do we do?
You add them in HFM.
Do we always manage meta data through FDM?
FDM is the tool use for mapping conversion. Here is a link with all of the library files for your reading entertainment and clarification of your questions:

  • How can I load data with Scripts on *FDM* to a HFM target System????

    Hi all!
I need help because I can´t find a good guide about scripting on FDM. The problem I have is the next one.
I have on mind to load my data with data load file in FDM to a HFM target system, but I would like to load an additional data using an event script, ie after validate. I would need any way to access to HFM system though FDM Scripts, is it possible??
If so, It would be wonderful to get a data from HFM with any Point of View, reachable from FDM Scripts in order to load or getting any data.
I´ve looking for a good guide about scripting in FDM but I couldn´t find any information about accessing data on HFM target system, does it really exist?
    Thanks for help

    Hi,
Take a look at the LOAD Action scripts of your adapter. This might give you an idea.
Theoretically it should be possible to load data in an additional load, but you need to be very careful. You don't want to corrupt any of the log and status information that is being stored during the load process. The audit trail is an important feature in many implementations. In this context it might not be a good idea to improve automation and risk compliance of your system.

  • FDM mapping in ERP Integrator

    Hi, all of you
I'm now thinking of the way to connect Oracle EBS 12.1.1 and Oracle Hyperion Financial Management, Fusion Edition 11.1.1.3.0 with ERP Integrator.
In the introduction section in ERPI admin guide, ERPI is mentioned as a module of FDM.
However, as far as I read the later sections in the guide, FDM is needed only if the user wants to use "FDM mapping."
Is my understanding correct, and EBS and HFM is connected only with ERPI (without FDM)?
And, if you know the advantage of using FDM mapping (I couldn't understand, actually), please tell me.
    Thanks in advance
    Yoshiki

    FDM is not required.
The same type of mappings can be done in ERPI and FDM. For example 3 accounts in the g/l for coffee, soda, snacks map to one in HFM account.
Using ERPI you will need more in the way of IT skill sets where FDM is constructed more for the Finance user to maintain.
Not that it is that difficult, but moreover you want to buy FDM because the internal controls available would cost you a lot more to script, test, validate, and implement outside of this packaged solution.

  • ICP dimension conflict with HFM

    Hi Guys,
I need your help for the following, I am using FDM 11.1.1.3 together with HFM 11.1.1.3.50. Now, in HFM the ICP dimension has been set up as follows (for which I have been told this is not best practice):
    Parent: [ICP TOP]
    Child1: [ICP NONE]
    Child2: [ICP entities]
    Children: 001 to 940
Apparently, FDM assumes that [ICP NONE] should be the parent. At least, I cannot export the ICP values for the entities like they should. Currently there is a workaround with logic accounts and a script in place:
-The script adds 'ICP.' in front of an account when it is carrying ICP.
-ICP mapping says export all to [ICP NONE] except when the account starts with L-
-Logic accounts have been created to duplicate each 'ICP.' account.
-The values of these L- logic accounts are then exported to the children of [ICP ENTITIES].
Needles to say this requires quite some maintenance since for each account that carries ICP values in a flat file, a new logic account needs to be created and mapped.
Any solution or suggestion how I can modify FDM and formulate the set up of the HFM ICP dimension? Or how I could minimize the maintenance? You would be of great help!
    Kind Regards,
    JDeM

Tnx for your reply Tony. You are correct and I am sorry I stated it wrong, what I meant is that because of the aggregatedweight set to 0, [ICP TOP] = [ICP NONE]. Sorry to confuse you, it is the first time I use FDM so need to familiarize myself with all this stuff :)
Just to inform you about the current mapping table:
-Current amount of valid ICPs = 80.
-All the others (919 in total) are mapped to [ICP NONE] in the explicit map.
-Next there is a like mapping:
    ALL     All     #SCRIPT     LIKE * "IF varValues(14)= ""NET_INCOME"" Then Result=""[ICP None]"" Else IF (left(varValues(13),1)= ""I"" OR left(varValues(13),1)= ""T"") Then
Result=""[ICP None]"" Else Result= varValues(17) End IF End IF "
(The "'I"" refers to all these ICP. accounts.)
(The "'T"" refers to logic accounts used to cumulate some values)
(note that source ICP = Target ICP, so that is quite nice)
So if I understand you correctly Tony, if I would create 80 complex logic accounts like this (which only have to be extended when another location is added in HFM, which is rare):
    i.e. ICP_ENTITY with Complex Criteria:
    CALCSTMTACCOUNT--DIMENSION--CRITERIATYPE--CRITERIAVALUE--GROUPBY--GROUPLEVEL
    ICP_ENTITY--------------ACCOUNT----LIKE-----------------*----------------------(blank)------0
    ICP_ENTITY--------------ICP-------------LIKE-----------------*----------------------L-006--------5
    CALCSTMTACCOUNT--DIMENSION--CRITERIATYPE--CRITERIAVALUE--GROUPBY--GROUPLEVEL
    ICP_ENTITY--------------ACCOUNT----LIKE-----------------*----------------------(blank)------0
    ICP_ENTITY--------------ICP-------------LIKE-----------------*----------------------L-007--------5
etc. for all 80 relevant ICPs. Then the amounts would be exported twice to the account? Once to [ICP NONE] and thanks to the logic, also once to the ICP mentioned in the flatfile (i.e. 006).
SH, I understand your point, however that kind of maintenance we already covered. However, each month we still need to create a new logic for each account that had never carried an ICP in the past. We cannot do this upfront since there are thousands of accounts and many different logic groups and parent mappings.

  • FDM Mapping tables within EPMA

    Hi All
Can anybody tell me wether EPMA can hold the FDM mapping tables?
Also should we create a new member within the EPMA library can we set up a prompt that requests the user to update the mapping table with the new member?
    Thanks

    Hi
    Thanks for the reply
Do you know if Kalido will be able to hold an FDM mapping table and wether this could feed into FDM?
    Thanks again

  • FDM Mapping Maximum number of records per Dimension

All, I have a unit that currently has over 2800 records for their account dimension. I can download all the records associated with the maps, but I can't see all the records in the Map Options window. It seems to stop at Page 20.
Is there a limit to the number of records FDM can view in the Map Options window?
Is there a limit to how many records a dimension can have?
    Thank you for your help.

Thanks for the response Mehmet, I did as you recommended, and confirmed the count in tdatamaps as well as the same count downloaded to excel. It is literally the FDM view will not show all the records. I have downloaded them all, cleaned any questionable characters, re-uploaded, and again check tdatamap, counts are good, just not able to see the records in FDM map window. Very strange......
All Thoughts are greatly appreciated. Thank you

  • SAP Connection with HFM

    Hi!
Is there anyone who has implemented an integrated connectivity with HFM and SAP 5 or 6?
Please shear your experience, we need to know the posiiblity and get the documentation.
    Thanks!
    Neal.

Which we do not need to run a program in SAP or anyother to extract into a text file and upload through FDM. If the FDM can connects to SAP database directly and fetch data that would be ideal.
    Thanks!

  • Export FDM maps

    Hi,
We have a requirement where in we need to export FDM map to a .txt file.
we have explicit mapping as well as like map which is '*' mapped to 'None'.
The issue is when we export maps for a location, we need to have explicit maps as well as the source members which are mapped to 'None', instead of *
Eg: Product original map will be
    src tar
    1001 100100
    1002 100200
    1003 100300
    * None
suppose if my data file has 5 records
    1001
    1002
    1003
    1004
    1005
As per defined mappings, my final product mapping would be
    src tar
    +1001       1000100+
    +1002       1002000+
    +1003       1000300+
    +1004       None+
    +1005       None+
I need above records to be loaded to text file. (Basically, * in original map should be replaced with the actual members based on data file.)
Is there any way I can get these records in FDM or should I need to write any script to achieve this. If yes, any suggestions.
This is little urgent and any suggestions on this woud really help me..
    Thanks

The output will be completely dependent on the last source file imported to the location in question. You would have to source the data from the tDataSeg table associated wih the location. You would then have write a custom script which queried this table to retrieve the source and target values for the period and dimension in question to be written to a text file

  • FDM export to HFM - 2nd export did not clear all data from 1st export?

Has anyone experienced exporting a replacement FDM file to HFM where the 2nd file did not contain an account that was present in the original file and that account/value in the 1st file then remained in the HFM trial balance and caused it to be out of balance? Does the replace export option not clear all the prior file data? The only unusual part of it might be that the problem account was derived using logic group script? Thanks.

Thanks Hensen - Sure, it was easy enough to fix once I deduced what the problem was - although my solution was just to use the data clear function and reload. The real question is how to prevent it from happening again and it sounds like I can't do much about it - other than trying to train the users to watch out for do-over files that have fewer accounts than the original load?? Am I wrong to think that HFM should try to fully clear all previous data from a load file if there is a replacement or at least try to validate whether or not all prior accounts have been repopulated?? There's plenty of good validation in the validation step of FDM. Why not during the export step? If this makes sense, I'll put in another "enhancement request" to support.

  • Issue in Color Theme on the map with ADF geographic components

I am facing an issue in bringing up a map using color theme .I can able to bring up a map with color themes using geographic components feature in ADF.
The problem here is 'Edit Color Map Theme' dialog which lists Map Theme in five categories like continents,counties,countries,states_abbrev,states_names.
we had implemented map using Color Theme based on the states_abbrev and found it was working properly.
But after some days we found that the settings we made to work for the map no longer works and resulted in no color theme on the map being displayed on the page.
It was found that the states_names works properly instead of states_abbrev by that time.
But again after some days it didnt work with state_names and we revert back our code to follow state_abbrev so as to get the desired result.
Does somebody know where is the problem and how to approach this issue?

    Quick Install is gone.
    Database repair doesn't work.
Color coded categories is gone, and as you've discovered Theme colors are gone.
    Print to Excel is gone.
Many desktop clients that worked with 4.2 do not work.
It won't work with legacy devces.
and others.... There are lots of complaints about 6.2 scattered around the forums.  Personally, the HotSync manager keeps forgetting the connections I've set, and goes to default views.
You aren't missing much of anything, IMHO.

  • How to add a bing map with pins to a Siena Project

    Hi
I just want to add a bing map with the current location and a few nice pins of some nice locations around me. Comming out of a Excel file. Potentially also draw some routing lines into the bing maps.
Any ideas how I can accomplish that goal?
    Thank you in advance
    wbr.
    Joerg

yes you can (there is actaully one on the map, blue square)
    The syntax is listed on
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff701724.aspx
You will however have to build the correct string to included in the image source (which you can do in the source excel or in runtime in siena)
Concatenate is suitable to do that.
    http://dev.virtualearth.net/REST/v1/Imagery/Map/Road?pp=47.638197,-122.131378;;1&ms=350,500&key=KEYHERE
the PP indicates the pin actually and the bing map autocenters on that. You have several options listed on the webpage listed above. It's a question of the one fitting you best.
Please note that your bing key is yours so you need to hide it well enough.

  • Can i use WebApps to build a Google map with polygon territories instead of points (pins)?

I built a map with Google Maps Engine Pro - http://www.jmbcompanies.com/Services/Mitigation/map.
It showcases territories using a Google map polygon shape.  I wrote custom KML to create it.  However, with Google Maps Engine pro you cannot create custom hyperlinks.  It will link a URL that you put in the data, but you cannot name it or target the parent window, so therefore it opens a new tab for each click to more details.  I really want it to open the WebApp detail page for that item within the same window.
So, is there a way to use the BC integrated Google maps technology and show polygons instead of points on the map? I've used {module_webappsmap,20754,a} to place individual locations on a map, but what about territories or polygon areas?
I'm sure that I can create a WebApp to generate the KML for each placeholder.  But how do I turn that into a map?
    THANKS!!

You can not create a kml file in BC through webapps. Modules do not work in other file types and you do not have server code access to generate a file type of results.
You need to use the google API and do this yourself or you can just use this:
And embed it into a custom field. My Maps

  • How to lock a specific map with a password in FINDER?

I don't use a password on my mac because you have to fill it out the whole time for ridiculous reasons. But I have one map, with all my financial numbers and invoices, that I want to secure with a password.
    How to do that?
I already tried some things but can't figure it out.
    Thanks in advance!

not sure what you mean by a map here. if you use a blank admin password (a mistake IMO), pretty much your only option is to create an encrypted disk image using disk utility and put whatever you want protected inside. when the image is unmounted, the only way to mount it is by entering the password you set at the image creation time.

  • Error in scheduling a mapping with sqlloader ctl file

    Hi everyone,
I have been trying to schedule a single mapping which generates sqlloader ctl file. but i get the error
ORA-20001: Begin. initialize complete. workspace set. l_job_audit_execution_id= 20545. ORA-20001: Please check execution object is deployed correctly. ORA-01403: no data found ORA-06512: at "USER7.PMAP_TLOG_JOB", line 180 ORA-20001: Please check execution object is deployed correctly. ORA-01403: no data found
but when i attach this mapping with a process flow it works fine. There is no error.
so my question is in OWB is it a must that we should attach the mapping which generates sqlloader ctl file to a process flow and then schedule it or can we schedule a single mapping which generates sqlloader ctl file and what should be the process to schedule a single mapping which generates sqlloader ctl file?
    can anyone please help?
    Thanks & Regards

  • Runtime-Error after deploying a mapping with the generated script

For example a very easy scenario:
    1. Create a table and a view in a DB-schema, witch ist registered as WB-target-schema with the following scripts:
    create view v1(c1) as select 'a' c1 from dual;
    create table t1(c1 varchar2(1));
    2. Import the table and the view into a OWB-module
    3. Create a mapping ‘m1’
    4. Drag and drop view and table into the mapping
    5. Draw an arrow from the view-column to the table-column
    6. Save and close the mapping
    7. Mark the mapping in the ‘Design Center’ and klick the ‘Generate’-Button
    8. Save the generated script ‘M1.pls’ to file
    9. Run the script in SQL*Plus, connected with the target-schema (without using the Control Center Manager)
=> very easy right now ;-)
    10. Start the mapping with the following script will produce the following error
    SQL> declare
    2 v_status varchar2(100);
    3 begin
    4 m1.main(v_status);
    5 end;
    6 /
    declare

If i delete or comment the four WB_RT_MAPAUDIT_UTIL-calls - it work´s fine!
But is this a good advise?
What exactly does the wrapped package ‘WB_RT_MAPAUDIT_UTIL do?
    Thanks

I just ran into the same problem myself. I used the same technique of saving the generated OWB script to file and then compiling it through sqlplus. When I used the "Deploy" option for the mapping, then the problem went away. So when OWB is deploying the code it seems to be setting something internally that doesn't get set when you simple compile the PL/SQL. I don't know of any workaround to this. I will need it eventually, since I don't want to use the UI to deploy to various test environments and production. Maybe the built-in scripting language is the way to go.
