FDM - russian locale?

Hi All,
I'm interested if Russian localization is planned for FDM?
Is it possible to customize/translate UI in FDM? Any documentation on this?

From Oracle's website, download the Excel file(Support Matrix).
In the sheet named- "Translation Support", they mentioned as "NA" for FDM - Russian cell. So, I believe- FDM won't be supported in Russian locale.

We are using Oracle 9.2, ADF UIX 2.2.20, ADF BC on JDeveloper 10.1.2.1.0
Tables of business entities have secondary field "Author". This field contains the name of a user, who has changed data in the table. After authorisation the name of user is stored in httpSession, and put into table using uix code:

Some of users have russian letters in their names. Sometimes (about 1200 of 70000 rows) during commit russian letters are "lost" and replaced by "?" sign in Oracle table.
This problem happens on Oracle iAS 10g and TomCat 5.5.12 application servers, and on HP-UX and Linux RH.

Dear Sir...
i faced a similar problem with the arabic charactors. What you should check is two things:
1- The database charactor set should support russian.
2- The encoding of the pages in JDeveloper should support russian.
if you open any uix page and look at the source you probably will find the encoding equal to windows-1252. you should change it to russian encoding (which i do not know what it is).
you should install the russian language in windows, reinstall jdeveloper, then change the encoding of jdeveloper to support russian.

Problem with parameterized reports in InfoView interface with Russian local

Please, help!
We have a problem with users, who have u201CRussianu201D as Info View portal interface language. Users have problems with reports which are parameterized. When user tries to select a custom date he gets prompt with incorrect template "Enter Date Report: - jj.nn.aaaa H:mm:ss". As a result the report is not updated. If User uses English interface all is OK.

3) Are you using the JAVA infoview or .NET infoview?
4) Which kinds of reports are you attempting to put the custom date range in (CR, Webi, Deski)

Hi!
1. Get the Russian language package for ECC 6.0
2. Run se38->RSCPINST (Note 42305 - RSCPINST (I18N configuration tool), add language RU and press Simulate
3. Check the log - whether or not Russian locale is installed on your server's operation system. If not - install and configure it
4. add/change required instance profile parameters (transaction RZ10). Language key for Russian is R.
5. Restart application server.
6. Run se38->RSCPINST and press Activate. Check the log.
7. Run transaction SMLT. Add RU language and choose supplemented language. Supplemented language can be selected once!
8. Run import of the RU language (follow the instructions from the help.sap.com)
9. Once the import is finished, check log, if everything is OK run Supplementation.
10. After importing of the RU language, you must also import the language data in the Support Packages it you installed them before language.
11. Use the Russian language by mention RU in a sapgui field when login

As per the release notes of [https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/os/notes/1.1/ FirefoxOS 1.1] the Russian locale is supported. So, you wouldn't need to add a keyboard separately. Can you please confirm what is the issue you are seeing when you try to select the locale as Russian? Are you not able to view the Russian keyboard?

Spool Russian Characters from a unix(AIX) sql script

Hi All,
I have a problem selecting and spooling a column whose characters are in russian to a flat file. If I use oracle sql developer, the data comes out right, e.g
Р-Н ТАШКЕНТ
However is i try to run the same select from a unix sql script and spool the results, I get some gibberish like:
ò-î ôáûëåîô or a chain of question marks ?????????
select * from nls_database_parameters gives:
NLS_LANGUAGE=AMERICAN
NLS_TERRITORY=AMERICA
NLS_CHARACTERSET=UTF8
NLS_NCHAR_CHARACTERSET=AL16UTF16
I have tried exporting the environment variable using these various options individially to no avail:

Database version: Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.5.0 - 64bit
with the default values for NLS_LANG, I run sqlplus
sqlplus user/password@oracle_sid
select column_name from table_name;
and the output is:

I exit and export NLS_LANG=RUSSIAN_CIS.CL8ISO8859P5
go back into sqlplus and run the same query as above, and the output is

So it seems the output I get is somehow influenced by the value of environment variable NLS_LANG, so it may be that either I need the correct value for this environment variable or I need some config on the OS level.....?
Also the command locale -a gives following output - I am not very good on locales, so it maybe that the russian local isn't installed...?

if you want to translate Edge Animate to russian you must edit C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Edge Animate\resources\LangMapping.xml

How to use Russian Language in Pop-Up menus

I am trying to generate a Russian Translation of a pop-up
menu using the Arial font. Both graphic and html body work fine but
the Javascript Pop-Ups generated from Fireworks produces a string
of Question Marks.
Can anyone advise me how to have Russian characters work in
the Pop-Up menus?

In the css file, you should have a 'text-align' property set to 'center' for the BEx Table cell element. I'm not sure of the exact element name, maybe you can check. Also check if you can open the file in notepad if the MS VS format is not ok with you.

Cannot turn on "Show the day of the week" option in Date & Time

OS X Lion turns "Show the day of the week" option off each time I open that preference pane and after every reboot. My region in Formats tab of Language & Text preference pane is set to "Russia (Russian)". I've noticed that the problem doesn't appear when region is set to US (I didn't try others). Is there any known workaround, except changing my region preference?

And I have a workaround, until Фззду fixes it finally:
1) Go to the ~/Library/Preferences, locate a file named com.apple.menuextra.clock.plist, open it with Plist editor (comes with XCode) or just with TextEdit.
2) There's DateFormat key in it, change it to "EEE H:mm", save the file.
3) Now Cmd-I (right click - Get info) on that file in Finder, and check option named "Locked" ("Защита").
System Preferences' Date & Time pane sets the aforementioned DateFormat to "ccc H:mm" when you tick the "Show the day of the week" option, while in Russian locale. And in English it becomes "EEE H:mm". The problem is that Sys.pref and even SystemUIServer (that shows the menu) processes somehow do not like the former value and erase it. After every relaunch of SystemUIServer (after reboot or being killed) tries to change "EEE" to "ccc" again (which would be cleared to nothing next time), that is why you have to lock the plist file.

8.1.6 installation failed on RH6.2

When I try to launch runInstaller, I see only gray rectangle and no more. In "top" I see 8 or 9 instancies of jre, wich take up to 100% of CPU time.
When I append to the jre script option -v (for verbose output) I see messages about loading different Java classes, and last message already:

Now I see, that all jsf (not just ADF) components, for example, <h:outputText value="text_in_russian)"/> emit "wrong" markup. "Wrong" means the following: my .jspx files have windows-1251 encoding, as it is prompted by JDeveloper. I want them to emit windows-1251 text to the browser, while <h:outputText value="(text in russian)"/> now emits
<input type="text" name="_id0:_id1" value="& # 1058;& # 1077;& # 1082; ... ">,
not <input type="text" name="_id0:_id1" value="text_in_russian">.
User sees "right" text in the browser, and value is properly updated, but maruup is "bad".

File.encoding won't swap

trying to help someone who has a windows file server originally installed for russian locale. they managed to swap it back to what they require (en_GB) but the JVM file encoding's still stuck on cp1251. they say they've changed the JVM config's file encoding ("-Dfile.encoding=cp1252") yet the system still reports cp1251 for the file encoding (even after several reboots). i don't see anything in the bug parade & i'm at a loss as to why this box won't swap it's JVM file encoding.

I tried to save a profile with the compression setting -
including cropping - but upon trying to use that saved profile - a
dialog box comes up with:

Their huge files - broadcast DVC-Pro - and the overscan - and
interlace top & bottom show up . . . . Aaarrrgggg!

as well?

For example my bytebuffer has the values 72. 69, 76,76,79 ( HELLO)
String.value(bytebuffer.array()); does not work ( compiler treats bytebuffer.array() as an object)

ANSI is not a well-specified encoding at all, in fact.
Usually "ANSI" is used to refer to "whatever the platform default encoding is on this Windows machine". So if you move a text file in "ANSI" encoding from an english Windows installation to another Windows installation that's set to use a russian locale, then "ANSI" will mean something different on those two machines and therefore the decoded String won'T be correct (unless you're lucky and your file only contains characters from the ASCII-subset (i.e. the lower 128 values)).
On English-language Windows installations, ANSI usually refers to [Windows-1252|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows-1252].

Keyboard UI improvement request: A better Language Switch is really needed!

In bilingual environment like I have in Russia, current Lang Switch is definitely the weakest part of on-screen keyboard, which is disastrous to otherwise excellent typing experience.
Please consider changing that so that one-step (NOT two-step) switching is possible, e.g.
(а)adding a dedicated key/indicator (as in WP8 / iPad / some Symbians, etc...)
(b)something like 'swipe space horizontally to switch the language' (as in Android)
I believe the issue is relevant not for Russia only.
Late 10.0.1 versions (like .4633 leaks or so) made situation even worse:
initially, the order of a languages in pop-up list was constant, which allowed to switch to a needed language rather fast
currently, the list order is constantly changing based on current language, which is VERY inconsistent.
Env: Z10 STL100-2, various 10.0 and 10.1 firmware, Russian locale, Beeline.
And, with keyboard devices like future Q10 etc, the best option is adding a dedicated switch button. Please consider that for future devices!
