Feature appears to be broken

I installed Office 365 ProPlus via SCCM using the Office Deployment Tool for Click-to-Run. When a user click on a file type, they get a "feature appears to be broken" message. They can click through it, but I need to resolve
this issue. I removed a "Send to Bluetooth" plugin added by the Intel Bluetooth software and I also ran a repair, but it did not resolve the issue.

Is this an universal issue in your environment? The first step that I would recommend is to check for updates and make sure your Office 365 is up to date, then verify result.
Does this only happen to Word? Do you have any other add-ins integrated with Office except the "Send to Bluetooth"?
A lot of problems with Office are caused by third party (non-Microsoft) applications. So please also check behavior in safe mode to see if it's an add-in issue:
Press Win + R and type "winword.exe /safe" in the blank box, then press
Enter.

We are running SQL Server reporting services on SQL Server 2008 R2. Recently we installed the service pack 3 and we now get the following error when a user clicks the Report Builder link:

I'm at a bit of a loss of what to do since all recommended solutions I've found are for installing the latest service pack or cumulative update (from threads several years old). By installing service pack 3 we are at the latest upgrade path for 2008
R2 and ironically enough, this is what appears to have broken the click once installer.

This is an known issue in SSRS 2008 R2 SP3. For this issue, Microsoft has published an article addressing this issue. It is not planning to release a fix for this defect. But there's workarounds for this issue. Please refer to the link below:

5.1 appears to have broken the relationship function in contacts on the iPhone 4s. You no long have "relationships" as a field to add to the contact. I'm limited to 3 only.

Duplicate appears to be broken

Okay, first of all, absolute newb in Photo Shop so excuse my ignorance, but a really strange thing happened in bridge tonite. First I attempted to use the rename batch option and just renamed a bunch of jpg's and after they wouldn't show up in the preview area, or did but just as the file view not the picture itself. so then I duplicated them and deleted the originals and for whatever maraculous reason the pics appeared as normal in the preview panel. So I'm like, okay what ever I did wrong originally that fixed it. So continued my little duplicate and delete journey, the duplicate option appears to be broken. I can right click and duplicate and nothing, go to tools and duplicate and nothing, cntrl+d and still nothing.
Any Ideas?

My first guess here is you are doing a batch rename with an incorrect name. That would explain why they show up only as an icon.
A common mistake is to take a picture labeled brown bird.jpg and renaming it large brown bird.jpeg.jpeg. In this last istance the program does not know what to do with it. So watch where the periods are in the rename. There are also illegal characters you can't use as the OS has them reserved. Look at the bottom of batch rename and it shows the new name before you commit.
It is really dangerous to delete the original, or are you calling the duplication of the original now the original? If the batch rename does not work I would go to edit and select undo rename and try again.
I would copy a few images to a test file and perfect your technique before working on your originals. Unless you have your images backed up on another drive (I would rank this an absolute #1 priority) you could loose images.
You may have contaminated you cache with all your work. So in the folder you were working go to tools/cache/purge cache for xx folder. Let the thumbnails rebuild.

Java 7u13 win8 shortcut icons still appear to be broken

As Woodiw1563768 pointed out in July of 2012, the Java Web Start (JAWS) desktop shortcut icon on Windows 8 appear to be broken[0]. When you provide a custom icon the shortcut appears as a blank paper instead of as your icon or the default web start icon. This is still happening in February of 2013.
Windows 8 is "officially supported with the release of Java 7 Update 10" [1] and bug 2230144 claims this issue should be fixed as of Java 7 Update 12 (7u12) [2], but when I tested with the latest version from java.com, 1.7.0_13 (7u13) my icons are still broken for applications which work with the same version of Java on earlier versions of Windows. Can anyone else confirm this? It would be handy to have a public JNLP file that normally installs icons that we can all test against. The one in the bug report appears to be missing or only internal.
As noted in bug 7182795 [3], the issue appears to be some Windows security conflict with the use of LocalLow as the cache directory where JAWS icons are stored.
I am having trouble figuring out how to comment on bug 2230144 to indicate that it still appears to be broken.
Is there any way to work around this bug? (Besides not using web start or not relying on the desktop shortcuts.)
I have tested setting the icon path manually, but every time the JNLP file is updated, and sometimes on every launch, the shortcut is deleted and re-created, reverting back to the broken icon.

this is my first post here so i'll try to be quick
i foolishly tried installing the ms apps using a third party app since i saw it worked on other people's phones and i thought i would give it a shot
i was wrong
for about 3-4 days i've been scouring the internet trying to find a solution to the Home screen:feature not supported bug or whatever it is, but to no avail. I am starting to become a bit desperate as the gallery simply will not work no matter what i do, .jpgs wont open, and my phone has been handicapped in the most literal sense of the word. Also i've tried hard resetting twice but to no result. I've considered hacking the phone and installing a custom firmware but i didnt want to destroy the phone completely, and also waiting for the feature pack might take too long for me.

Did you try to reinstall the firmware using Nokia Suite? If you are ready to loose some data then you may try the three finger format option. This will remove the installed apps. To do this switch off your phone. Then press the menu button and the camera button and the volume down button. Keep pressing the three buttons and switch on your phone. Don't leave the buttons until the Nokia hands appear. After this install the firmware again using Nokia Suite. By this method Nokia store and maps app will be lost.

ITunes Match Appears To Have 'Broken' A Song

I haven't seen anything like this particular issue in the iTunes Match–Discussions I scanned, so here goes...
Recently I have been playing with iTunes Match, and it's been working quite well. The best way I learn is to actively engage with something, so I proceeded to replace my songs with low bit rates with higher bit rate versions from iTunes Match.
So, 6000 songs–give or take–over a two day period the process finished, and I am very satisfied with the results.
Recently I was listening to one of the 'matched' songs I downloaded, Stevie Nicks' "Doing The Best I Can (Escape From Berlin)" from her The Other Side Of The Mirror album, when I noticed breaks in the song.
I was at the gym at the time, so I assumed that the problem was with my headphones, so I waited till I got home to listen to the track on my computer (the song, before iTunes Match, was intact).
When I got home I played the song, and noticed breaks at 2:02, 3.28, and 4.30 (when I write 'breaks" I mean there's a second or so of empty space from one part of the song and the next).
This is really weird, because I know for a fact that the version I had orignally–before using iTunes Match–was pristine, which leads me to believe that the song residing on iTunes Match server(s) is broken.
I have a copy of this album on CD, so I am going to do an experiment that will prove it definitively: I am going to delete the version I downloaded from iTunes Match and replaced it with a version from the CD. Play it, to confirm that it's intact, then download it again from iTunes Match.
If the CD version is intact, it means there was iTunes Match version is broken; which means i'll followup with Apple because I'd hate to think that anymore of my songs had this problem (though as I said, I have not seen this with any other songs).

It would seem that the track that Apple is providing is corrupt. Not a lot you can do other that report problem to Apple. It will be easy for you to restore the original from the CD to play on your computer or sync manually to iOS devices (match needs to be off to transfer track).

The App Store Search feature appears to be working again.... I hope!

I had the same issue that many users were reporting earlier today about not being able to use the search feature in the App Store. I have been experimenting for the last 15 minutes or so and it is working for me now.
Keep trying ... It may now be coming back for all soon.

It wasn't working for me earlier and I was experiencing the same weird behavior that everyone else seemed to be experiencing. I was getting the "Can't connect to iTunes Store" message when trying to do a search. Everything else worked, just not the search feature,
Anyway, all seems to be OK now. No bizarre workarounds needed.

Windows 9x support in WINE appears to be broken.

Previously I was running OrCAD 10.5 suite flawlessly under Wine in my 64 Arch Install. To make one of the programs included in the suite work (layout.exe) I had to configure it to run as Windows 98, but that's all I needed to do to get the suite running.
In a recen system upgrade, it stopped working. All the programs in the suite excepting layout.exe work, but when I launch layout.exe, it eats 100% CPU, but doesn't start, and I get the following error on the terminal window:

After googling a bit, I found that it looks like there is a problem with 16 bit calls on latest kernel causing win16 programs to fail. I don't know if layout.exe is win16, but it might be. But as I only was experiencing the problem when Windows 9x mode was enabled (using winecfg), I decided to create a clean winebottle and do a simple test:
First create the clean winebottle:
$ WINEARCH=win32 WINEPREFIX=/home/doragasu/wine/test wineboot
And then run built-in commands that I suppose are 32-bit (is there a way I can know for sure?):
$ WINEPREFIX=/home/doragasu/wine/test winecfg
$ WINEPREFIX=/home/doragasu/wine/test wineconsole
Both winecfg, wineconsole and others run as expected. Next step is running again winecfg to configure this winebottle to behave as Windows 98. Once this is done, I cannot start anything, neither winecft nor wineconsole work anymore, 100% cpu is taken by wine, and the "modify_ldt: Invalid argument" is again displayed on the terminal window. So it looks like not only win16 applications are broken, everything breaks if you set Windows 98 emulation...
Someone pointed out that there was an error on the wine arch package that was solved later, but I have not heard anything about it, and my system is upgraded as of today. Can anyone confirm this problem? Is it only kernel related? Is there a workaround? (e.g. an easy way to downgrade the kernel until this is hopefully fixed).

Unfortunately I'm not sure it broke in the last upgrade, I didn't use layout.exe at least for a month. Having a look to the log:

WebRTC's CreateOffer appears to have broken the error handling

I had a working implementation of WebRTC, using the Adapter.js pollyfill. It was previously working between Firefox and Chrome but now it appears to have a type error on the error handler. I had it set to use null, which still works in Chrome but Firefox now requires {} for an empty error handler (therefore breaking either Chrome or Firefox depending which I use). And it doesn't seem to work with an actual error handler either!

ITunes tracks in database appear to be broken. How do I report?

I recently bought the album Crimson by the band Edge of Sanity, and the tracks are all broken. The first 7 tracks have a full 2 seconds of silence at the end, while the final track is entirely missing about 30 seconds from the end of it (I know this because I have heard the album prior to my purchasing it on iTunes). I have already reported these issues through the iTunes store and received the option to download them again. This did nothing to solve the issue, meaning it is likely not a downloading issue.
The astute observer will notice that the tracks on this album are named Crimson, pt. 1, Crimson, pt. 2, etc. This is because the album technically contains only one, 40-minute song. Since it is divided into tracks on iTunes, each track should flow into the next, but they quite obviously do not. I have had similar issues with multi-part songs with iTunes before (such as Dream Theater's Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence), but the case with that album was slightly different: each part of Six Degrees had a moment of silence added to the end of the track (easy to bypass this issue), while the case with Crimson is that there are 2 seconds of silence at the end replacing the final 2 seconds of the song. This entirely ruins the flow of the album. the issue with Part 8 is, again, that it is lacking about 30 seconds from the end of the song. All these issues are perfectly evidenced by giving the song a listen from a different source. It is really unacceptable to me for this album I paid for to have these glaring flaws when I know for a fact that it was not recorded that way.
Given the fact that i have already re-downloaded these tracks, I can't help but think that the tracks in iTunes' database are faulty. So I ask: Is there a possible explanation for these issues, other than bad tracks in iTunes' database? And, if it is the fault of the database, how do I let someone know and hopefully get a refund/fixed tracks?

Your phone is carrier locked to one other than the one you are trying to use. You will have to contact the carrier it is locked to to ask about their unlocking policy. That, or establish service with that carrier instead of the one you're trying to use.
ONLY the carrier a phone is locked to can authorize unlocking. Not all carriers offer unlocking of iPhones.

Autoaway feature seems to be broken in Skype\Piding

Hi all,
I'm having a recent ArchBang install not that heavily modified. I'm confused with the fact that Skype when going 'auto-away' doesn't ever return back automatically. Same is true for Pidgin, but it moreover goes auto-away even while I'm working on the PC (Skype fairly switches status when I'm realy away). And again - Pidgin sticks in this state and never goes online automatically.
I don't run xscreensaver or anything alike. To lock my screen automatically I run xidle (and it works fine).

Further to my original post, deleting and re-importing a folder from the catalog enabled the expected filter functionality.
So filtering is definitely broken for the first import of folders into a catalog. Since my photos are all stored in one location on the hard disk, and were imported into LR4b in one go, that means filtering is broken for my whole catalog unless I perform a reimport.

anyone who can check this, much appreciated before I send this in as a bug
try to make a conversion..set any crop and then force the size back to it's original size and start job and it should fail telling you missing codec.
seems to be happening with anything but uncompressed files...it was fine in 4-4.07
this just seems like a really bad rethinking of the whole application. it wasn't made 64 bit and the interface changes shouldn't be breaking basic functionality (crop and size, multi core usage etc)

Can you try these steps?
1 your original xdcam
2. set a crop of 8 to top and bottom
manually set size to original (it will adjust down with e crop, so enter the size manually)
submit and let me know if it completes.
if it's working, then it look like it's prores specific (which is bad if you're doing roundtrip from fcp)

PSE 9 (Mac) - Preferences appear to be broken

Hello,
I have just (re)downloaded PSE9 (running under Snow Leopard 10.6.4) and paid my £80. All I want to do is change the date format from American to UK - hardly rocket science, or so I thought.
Organiser mode: - I selected the Adobe PSE9 menu and then the preferences menu, followed by general. One of two things happens: -
1) I receive a message informing me that PSE is busy and cannot process my request
or
2) Nothing,
I have rebooted. I have uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled, restarted, screamed at the computer, sworn at Adobe.
I should have known that using an Adobe product wasn't meant to be straightforward! This is going to sound ridiculous, but I suffer from Asperger's Syndrome, and little things like this REALLY frustrate me. Not much to ask, wanting to change the date format to that native to the country in which you reside, is it..? Why do Adobe have to make it so damned difficult...?!

Try quitting the organizer, then going to your username>library>preferences and deleting com.Adobe.Elements Organizer.9.0.plist, then try again.
