Feature/Bug Fix list for 10.2.0.4

I know 10.2.0.4 is expected in July. I'm currently running 10.2.0.3 and interested in it because it has a fix for Bug 5082178 - "Bind peeking may occur when it should not." I'm interested in knowing what other improvements it contains.
Can anyone point me to a list of features and bugs planned for the 10.2.0.4 release?
Thanks,

The README/ Metalink note for the patchset should include the list of all the bugs that are fixed. I don't believe Oracle publishes the set of bug fixes that will actually be part of the patchset until much closer to the release date since bugs fixes get added and removed during the final testing process.

  • Bug fix list for JDev 10.1.2

I would like to know if exists any bug fix list for JDev 10.1.2, and where I can find it, if exists.
    Thanks in advanced.

Hi Shay, of cours Chris is right. The main reasons for this is
    1. We need to convince our management to invest in the efforts to update to a new version, find workarounds for new bugs, make complete tests of our product, update the installed base, ....
    2. We need to check if there are any unknown but critical fixed and we need to update our installed base.
    3. We need to decide how fast we need to update installed base.
    4. If there are 998 IDE bugs fixed and only one BC4J and one UIX bug, i think we will wait for the 10g final release...
Like most engineering teams in the world we have to fight with limited resources, so there is no chance to spend much time without a real need.
    Thanks, Markus
Btw. Even for the Oracle Database release there is always a list of fixed bugs. And this list also most often really scares me.

  • 10.1.3 gold - bug fix list please

    JDev team
Similar to previous releases, can you publish a bug fix list for the latest 10.1.3 release please?
    Cheers,
    CM.

    Hi,
Is this a download page you are writing?
Assuming you are using ADF Faces and Faces controller, from a design perspective it may be better to reference the AM within a backing bean and an expose the data to the JSP using bean methods. It's much easier to code in a backing bean too.
You can use the FacesContext within the backing bean to access the binding layer using expression language.

  • #1 feature/bug fix request

I love safari, but there is one thing that has been urking me forever. I always use as many hotkeys in my applications as possible, this way I can work way faster without having to use my trackpad. In safari I use a ton of tabs, and I can use the hotkey Apple-Shift-Arrow to toggle between tabs. HOWEVER, the toggle doesn't work if anything form-releated is selected on the screen, (i.e. an input text field) and this is really annoying because input textbox forms are focused by default, (example browse to www.google.com). So i'm forced on many, many occations to use my trackpad to go to the top of the screen and clicking though different tabs.
So if i open up a tab, then browse to google.com, the Apple-Shift-Arrow hotkey doesn't work anymore and i can't hotkey through my tabs.
Apple can you please fix this! Please enable the hotkeys when a form field is focused. This small bug-fix would definately increase my productivity
    Anyone else experience this?
    Cheers,
    -Jordan

cmd-shift-arrow doubles as line-select in text fields, so disabling it would lose that functionality.
why don't you just pick a different hotkey for selecting tabs in system prefs.?
edit: cmd-} and cmd-{ might also work (i can't really remember).

  • Lightroom features/bug fixes I would like to see in next version

I love the Adobe Lightroom Application. It is very intiutive and out of the different RAW processing programs I've tried, it is the only one that has most of the features I need and has the least amount of complications. However, I think there are still places to improve upon:
    * Decouple raw processor from the monolithic software executable so that updates to the RAW camera component to add new cameras can be made without requiring huge downloads or reinstallation of a new software program but simply updating a few DLLs and files.
    * Improve performance of the Develop panel. It is extremely slow on my laptop running 32bit Windows 7 and 3GB of RAM with dual core processor (pre-Core duo). 8 to 10 seconds for the "loading" message to disappear per image no matter how often I have loaded or edited the image. No caching is being done at all.
    * On my higher powered Desktop (Quad Core2 processor/4GB RAM,Windows 7), Adobe Lightroom frequently will start behaving strangely after only a few hours of running. It seems like it is leaking resources or something because eventually functionality will start failing. Specifically, right clicking on images will no longer bring up menus for example. If i shutdown and restart the application, the problem goes away.
    * Photoshop-like healing brush. Many times I want to "brush" over areas of image defects but the only choice in Lightroom is the healing tool which always creates a circle and does not allow "brushing".  This only works if the defect is a spot and not an irregular area.
    * Adjustment with Arbitrary Mask tool. Bibble 5 has this nice concept where you can mask out a section of an image and then apply adjustments to it without affecting the rest of the image. You simply draw a mask and then you can apply adjustments to it. The only option in Lightroom is to select the "Mask" option but that leaves the decision of where exactly you want to mask to Lightroom which only uses edge contrast to determine masking area.
    * I'd like a way to tell Lightroom to update the metadata (write out) on all images that are out of sync. Right now the write metadata function will write out metadata to all files whether or not it is required. This means that it is inpractical to try to update your entire catalog as tens of thousands of files will be written to and not just those that are out of sync. This is very important as a way to preserve editing metadata in case of loss of the Lightroom catalog.
    * Option to write import metadata to imported files. For example, I have an import metadata for copyright and keywords and I want the imported JPG or DNG files to permanently have this metadata so that even if individual files are copied my copyright and other metadata are preserved with it.
    * Option to append text labels to automatically generated import destination folder names. So for example, I can still import into date based directories but append a description to help me remember what the folder contains when I'm later browsing it. Right now it is either/or. You can either choose the name of the import folder destination OR you can have the software generate one for you.
    * A google-type search box at the top of the library panel so that ad-hoc searches can be done without having to fool around with the filters. Everybody is used to a single search box for simple textual searches.
    * some way to filter images by whether they have been exported previously or not
    * Please support lens and shooting information for Sony DSLRs in both JPG and RAW files. Also support 3rd party lenses on Sony DSLRs without assigning the wrong Minolta lenses to them. I want to be able to see both Lens name, max aperture, focusing distance (if available) etc...
    * Some way to edit the Shooting lens information to support lenses which are not known to Lightroom, and if suggestion above won't be implemented, some way for the user to edit the lens id --> mapping table so that I can properly map my own 3rd party lenses.
    * Facial recognition/tagging option. Some way to have Lightroom apply people tags after I have tagged representative images. Handle multiple people in a scene.
    * Automatic (batch) export of images on schedule. I would like a way to configure Lightroom to automatically generate particular export configuration of all my images in a catalog (or some defined subset) such that new files or files that have been edited since last export are automatically exported on a schedule even if Lightroom is not running. Perhaps a Lightroom batch service. This is so that I can always  have up to date processed versions  of my images for use in my media center display. I would like to configure the Lightroom batch service to run weekly at say 2am every day, run a particular export function and export all new or modified images to a network share accessible by the media center. That way, I can always have access to cropped and edit images without manually doing exports all the time or having to remember which files I've edited and then export them. Also by doing this at off hours it would not slow down my computer while I'm using it.
    * Better profiles for Sony DSLRs and support for their picture styles the same way that Canon and Nikon camera are supported.
    * Teethering support for Sony DSLRs that have this feature
    * Support for parametric plugins -- Plugins that do not require the image to be exported before running.
    * Simple support for "picture frames" when exporting. Some way to apply a frame to an image as part of export with a dozen or so frames included and a way for 3rd parties to create more.
    * A better way to safely share catalogs or pictures between multiple computers/users in a networked environment.

Did these come to you all at once, or have you been saving them up for a while?
Anyway, Adobe *should* be able to handle long lists of FR, but another option is to break them up and submit them for voting on the new FR/Idea site that will shortly replace this one: (It was really hot for a while, but has cooled down lately...)

They are already decoupled - you can update ACR independently for new camera support, however it's released at about the same frequency as Lightroom itself, so that doesn't help much. Perhaps this should be reworded: "Provide more timely ACR updates..."

I've been complaining about this for a long time - ACR cache is worthless for me too - if dev image not in RAM cache, takes same amount of time to render whether in ACR disk cache or not. Some say ACR cache speeds things up for them - perhaps you need to *believe*...
PS - After new motherboard upgrade, this went from 15 seconds to 3 seconds average.

Yep - Lightroom still has some leaks - gotta restart it from time to time...

+1 vote - arguably the most desired addition to the dev tools. I bet Lr4 will have this (no inside info though).

+1 vote - this is one of my highest hopes for Lr(4) too: sophisticated auto-masking + manual masking: to apply to all or at least most adjustments...

Frequently requested - some use pre-startup database query + plugin to make collection in the mean time (I dont).

RC Importer supports this - its an import plugin that bypasses the import dialog box - not for everyone...

Maybe the seeds of a good idea here, but may be worth some refinement/clarification - what would be searched? Would special syntax be supported? Personally, I mostly hate all 1-box search fields, because one never knows what's being searched and how, e.g. does it search the whole catalog?, is it case sensitive? On the other hand, I get the convenience factor... - I think if accompanied by help and/or the ability to pop up a dialog box for refinement or options, this might make a nice addition. Along these lines, I sometimes think a quick-smart-collection would be nice too - for when one wants to search 2 text fields, instead of just one. I keep a temporary smart collection just for this purpose, but still...

Change detecting export plugins have mostly solved this for me (and publishing for some folks), although adding export info (and metadata change info) to catalog for searching / sorting still sounds like a good idea to me...

Yes, better export management would be welcome. Export Manager might help you (if you have multiple export destinations to update), but its not a panacea... Many of us ultimately "consume" our photos outside Lightroom, having the consumption copies kept up to date more fluidly would be good. Using change detecting export plugins (along with export-manager) and/or publishing helps..
    HopeSpringsEternal2008 wrote:

Yep - much room for plugins to get better integrated with Lightroom proper, to participate in image enhancement, as well as other things...

That would be nice. Although support for 3rd parties to add frames *upon export* already exists (export filter plugin + export post-process actions), as well as adding text overlays and such. But since its not built into Lightroom, one has to find them and configure them... And there is no good way to preview them in Lightroom... I think this would go nicely with the previous request - ability to feed image data to plugins for preview in Lightroom. Even if these updates were not built-into the dev module - i.e. weren't kept updated automatically whilst editing - just being able to click a 'see final' button or have it rolled into the build-previews function, so one could have post-process imaging plugins (with preview before export) - might be a nice compromise until true imaging plugins (that fit into dev pipeline) are supported.
    The end - for now...

  • [SOLVED] Kernel bug fix, works for me!

Having been hit by the kernel bug that interferes with internet access & having to downgrade the kernel to escape the bug.  I am happy to say that after reading a bug report on the subject here:
    http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11721
Courtesy of a link posted by Misfit138, I found deep down in the report dialogue that the following command as root, worked for the poster of the bug:
    echo 0 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/tcp_timestamps
So I did a yaourt -Syu & found amongst other packages a minor kernel update, which did not solve my internet problems, but after su, & then entering the above command in the Terminal my internet works as it should!
If this solution works for you, then add the following to your /etc/sysctl.conf:
#Temporary workaround for tcp issue with 2.6.27
    net.ipv4.tcp_timestamps = 0
    Thanks again Misfit138
I hope this solution works for all of the other bug bitten members of the Arch (& Linux) community!

  • Bug fix release for macbook pro?

Does anyone have an estimate when the crashing issues for the macbook pro retina will be fixed?
I'm running 10.7.4, and my new macbook is crashing just about everyday. This is getting frustrating.  Over 3 years on the previous model macbook pro, I can't remember a single crash.  I wonder if I have a lemon here?
    No help from support:

Your pictures go no where. Bring it to an Apple store or AASP.

  • Firmware V4.0623.0.42 for N80 - bug fixes?

I have installed firmware V4.0623.0.41 in my Nokia N80 but after that the application I developed, stopped working (It uses WLAN).
There's no FOTA option in my mobile so I can't upgrade it by myself. Any Nokia Service Centre can cope with this and install V4.0623.0.42 on it?
Before addressing this issue in that way I would like to be sure if firmware V4.0623.0.42 will "bring back" my application, so the bug fixes list is very welcome.
    FW information:
    V4.0623.0.41
    26-07-2006
    RM-92
    Nokia N80 (11)
    cheers.
    Edward

    oh
i see so *#7370# is the code for the hard reset, i thought it is a soft reset i.e i thought it only resets to the original factory settings without removing the standard applications like quickoffice, adobe, settings wizard, mobile search etc.
Because i too thought i should reset the phone after the 0.41 FW upgrade and used this code to reset my phone but then it didnt uninstall quickoffice, adobe, settings wizard, mobile search etc...But now it looks like if you use this code after installing the 0.42 firmware it will uninstall them..hmm intresting.
but like you said its no big deal really as you can download and reinstall them anyway.
now lets hope that nokia release the V5 firmware soon and in that i hope that they fix the "go to" application thats in the "my own" menu and allow the users to put applications in there! as at the moment it has only 3 applications in it (inbox, calender and notes) and there's no way to put any other apps in there! how useless is that!! as it would be useful to put all the commonly used apps in there and assign it as a shortcut button like i used to have it on my previous 6230i and my good old trusted 6280! ahh the good old days!

  • Bug Fix Request - To Admins

Hey there Logic Pro forum Admins,
I've got a small bug fix request for you. I'm using Logic Studio to lay down VO, and I ran across a potentially distressing bug. When you are recording in the arrange window and you click on the playhead, it erases your record take. It doesn't just remove it from the arrange window and place it in the bin, it erases the take completely.
In my case, it was good that I caught it early on in a take. But imagine if I had clicked the on the playhead after a 5 - 10 minute take, or perhaps longer? We all know that time is money, particularly in VO sessions. The actor would have had to redo the take, and I would have had to pay the VO director and actor accordingly.
To be entirely clear, it wasn't as if I had purposefully clicked on the playhead while recording. I was actually trying to rename a marker and accidentally hit the playhead instead. The effect this has had on my session is that I'm now deathly afraid to do anything (including cutting previously recorded regions or renaming them) while rolling. I'm sure you can appreciate my dilemma. Yes I could simply not click on the playhead, but you know how it is in the heat of a session. Things need to happen fast, and your clicking accuracy isn't what it normally is etc.
Anyway, in future iterations of Logic Studio, it would be really really nice (not to mention heart attack preventing) if the user could disable this 'feature'. Please please please fix this!
    Kind regards,
    -Justin

I'm not sure if what you're experiencing is a bug. I just tried this. While recording, I hit the playhead, and it simply stoped the recording where it was when I hit it, although the session continued to play. Try it yourself and watch the transport - the record button will go off, but the play will continue. When I did it just now, it DID NOT erase the recording that was in progress. Everything that had been recording until I hit the playhead was still there. This action makes sense to me. If the playhead gets touched and jumps to another part of the project, the action of recording SHOULD stop.
If you're really concerned about this, I'd do some experimenting. Just sit down and start recording, and see what happens if you hit the transport, or if you do other actions you're wanting to do. Again, everything that had recorded until the moment I hit the playhead, was there. If your ENTIRE RECORDING gets deleted when you hit the playback, then something's wrong with your Logic. Are you on 8.0.2?
Why are you feeling the need to edit while recording, anyway? Especially when you're recording important stuff??
On a sidenote, you're not going to reach anyone from Apple on this forum. You need to go here:

    Good Luck!

  • JDev  10.1.2 Bug Fix Release?

There were rumors that a bug fix release for JDev 10.1.2 is due by 2004 year end. Is this still a valid rumor?

I have also noticed this behavior of data actions created in JDev 9.0.5.2 being transformed into data pages when migrated to JDev 10.1.2. The following are the steps to create a simple project to reproduce:
    JDev 9.0.5.2
    1. Create a new application workspace using Application Template "Web Application [Default]".
    2. Open struts-config page flow diagram.
    3. Create a data page /welcome, a data action /logout, and a data page /login.
    4. Create a forward (default success forward) from /logout to /login.
    5. Double click /login to create login.jsp and type "You have successfully logged out" on the page.
    6. Back on the struts-config page flow diagram, double click on /logout to define the action named LogoutAction that extends oracle.adf.controller.struts.actions.DataForwardAction.
    7. Add the following event handler:
    public void onLogout(DataActionContext ctx) {
    ctx.getHttpServletRequest().getSession().removeAttribute("test");
    8. Back on the struts-config page flow diagram, double click on /welcome and create welcome.jsp.
    9. In the body of the welcome.jsp page, create the following link:
    Logout
    10. Save, Make, and Run /welcome.
    JDev 10.1.2
    1. Add the application workspace created above. You will be prompted to migrate. Click Yes.
    2. Open struts-config page flow diagram. The logout data action will appear as expected.
    3. Click on source tab to view struts-config.xml.
    4. Close the struts-config.xml file. You will be prompted to save changes. Click Yes.
    5. Reopen struts-config. Click on page flow diagram tab. The logout data action appears to have changed to a data page. Double clicking on it no longer takes you to the action class; instead, you are prompted to create a JSP page.
I read the suggestion above about editing the oxd file, but it is my understanding that this file is (re)generated and should not have to be edited by hand; it is my guess that changes made manually as suggested above would revert eventually. Is there a better way to solve this problem?

  • Missing Features, Bugs, and Wish List for Apple Engineers

I LOVE my iPhone. It is by far the best phone I have ever had. The interface is awesome. Great job Apple, but there are missing features and bugs that all of us want updated or wish were added. I know they were probably already thought of by Apple, but in an effort to make the phone perfect removed to make it more stable. Now that it is out lets make it perfect.
This thread will hopefully give you guys guidance from the early adopters who share your love for the phone (and others who want to chime in). I want to separate the list into a few categories and hope everyone will add to this thread with their ideas:
    1) BUGS/CHANGES TO EXISTING APPS:
    - Period should be in alphabet keyboard (make space smaller) or when you go to symbol keyboard and hit period it should automatically go back to the alphabet keyboard (unless you double click the symbol button which means stay there like caps lock)
    - Individual delete (like Mail) of all lists (eg. call list, bookmarks list, history etc.
    - Multiple item in a List delete (see below for how to select). This is also so un-Mac like to not be able to select multiple items to delete. It is all or none for clear/delete on the iPhone.
    - Implement double finger slide...in maps double finger tap zooms out so the OS recognizes this, why don't you use a double finger drag to mean "select". There is no way to select some words in a sentence or a group of items. This could be how. eg. In a list (eg Mail) double finger slide over items you want to select (instead of singer finger drag which moves the list) then one finger slide to the right to delete the selected items from the list.
    - Copy and paste. Since there are no menus this would require a gesture (ala newton)
    - when you tap the battery icon it should bring up a battery status dialog (ala wifi join dialog where the screen dims): present charge, big battery icon (like the charging one), time left. In addition, instead of giving battery usage details only after a full charge, give it at any point.
    - Since you know that nights and weekends are at set times (and not variable like it was on Sprint where I came from)...the phone usage details should be broken down into: peak minutes used and N+W minutes used (not hard to figure out since you know the time and dates of calls)
    - Be able to change font/background etc in Notes app
    - faster way to get to favorites in the killer phone app after turning on phone. Just seems like it takes too many taps to get there to make a call on a phone.
    2) WISH LIST FOR NEW APPS (apps that can be added with existing hardware, see #3 for other wishes)
    - iChat (obvious and probably almost done)
    - VOIP (probably not going to happen, and wouldn't work in Europe where I would need it most gven network speeds there)
    - Flight tracker widget
    - Exchange support (probably in the works)
    - Push email from gmail and .Mac (probably in the works)
    - Bluetooth sync
    - DUN (probably not going to happen since AT+T does not want it)
    - Data/File storage with sync
    - TODO APP that syncs to to do in iCal
    - Ringtones, definitely from songs from iPod side (obvious and coming soon I am sure)
-Search function like spotlight. Global would be awesome, but even just in contacts
    3) FUTURE HARDWARE RELATED WISHES (stuff we wish could be in hardware version 1 but know require a version 2):
    - GPS
    - 3G
    - LED that changes color and/or pulses (like MacBooks sleep light) that indicates things (eg charge status, Voice mail status, roaming status etc) without turning on the phone
    - Move camera to front to allow video conferencing (I doubt Steve would allow since it would mess up the clean front look)
Well I could go on and will add to this thread later, but I need to go to work to show everyone (and sell more apple stuff since many of my colleagues have been converted to macs). Now, all you pioneers, start adding things to help our beloved phone become better!

I agree with your post! I'm amazed by the simplicity, the screen, and the apps on the iPhone. They all have worked wonderfully for me, with just a few crashes while surfing or loading big email images. (I heard that shutting down the phone and restarting helps that.)
The single flaw for me is that the phone app itself should be primary, with more options (quicker access, unique ringtones, voicedial?) and ease of use. The other applications are so elegant, but I need my phone to be very accessible and practical too.
    My wish list:
    1) Make it fewer taps to get to the point where you can make a phone call. How about the main button can be programmed to take you wherever you want. I'd choose to go to Phone Favorites, so I could speed dial right away.
    2) Be able to set a preference as to what app you're in when you wake up the phone. I'd choose phone keypad, some might choose iCal, etc.
    3) Add the period and comma symbols to the alpha keyboard.
    4) Allow different ringtones for specific caller ID's.
    5) Copy and paste.
V2) With new hardware, add a "back" button to return to prev. screen. It could be small, on the side near volume?

  • How to ask Adobe team for a bug-fix/feature?

How can I suggest an important bug-fix/feature be put in
    Fireworks?
I'd like to request that Fireworks be made to use the monitor
profile in Windows to adjust colors to match sRGB. With a properly
profiled monitor I see corrected colors in Photoshop and
Illustrator but Fireworks does not appear to use the monitor
    profile to display colors correctly.
Anyone know how to get this request to the right person? It
seems so obvious that a professional designer would need this -
    correct colors displayed.
    thanks
