Feature for personal CD/mp3 player

Hi,
I'm wanting to get a personal CD/Mp3 player for listening to audio books.  Since some of the tracks are very long, I would like something that will allow me to go back a little within the track (in case a I miss a sentence or something, I don't want to have to start at the beginning of the chapter again).  What is this feature called?  Any particular models you recommend?

Maybe what I have now is older technology, but it only allows me to go back to the beginning of a track, not rewind within the track.  Is it standard now to be able to go back a few seconds within a given track instead of having to start over?

You can now see this icon on the right end side of the location bar.

  • Adding features to Adobe Connect MP3 Player Extension?

We have a few feature requests for the Adobe Connect MP3 Player Extension.
Could you make it much more slim and compact in all modes?
Allow the playlist to contain only 1 file
Allow me to show/hide the playlist instead of needing to guess which song is next.
Could you allow me to change the background via XML settings?
Could you make all of the buttons smaller?
If you are willing to provide us with the source files for the Flash, then we could have some of our designers update it and send our changes back to you for the benefit of all.

    Hello folks behind liveclass,
From another thread, I know that you are referring to http://www.adobe.com/in/products/adobeconnect/feature-details/mp3-player.html. I have shared your request with Alistair, the creator of the extention. It is up to Alistair how he wants to take this forward.

  • Cannot install driver for IQ Sound mp3 player

I'm trying to load software for my IQ Sound mp3 player, but my Toshiba laptop does not recognize the driver on the disc.  What should I do?

I can't say with any certainty what the compatibility is between your mp3 player and your Toshiba laptop. Maybe you should check on the support website of the mp3 player as well if you haven't already.

  • Can't convert my itunes to mp3 format for my LYRA MP3 player

I purchashed a mp3 player for my son. We have approximately 177 itunes I have purchased in my library. I can not convert them to mp3 format so I can download on player. Dialog box reads "files are protected and format can not be changed". Please help. I have paid for these tunes and would hate to do so again.

I'm not sure I completely follow what it is you are trying to do, but it strikes me you're making it more complicated than need be.
iTunes imports files in the format set in your preferences.  If you want to import as other than mp3 then set the other format in your preferences.
iTunes is also set by default to put a copy of tracks you add into your iTunes folder.  You can unset this in preferences (I have this unset) but most people don't because it kind of messes up file management.  You can also temporarily disable it for files you are dragging to iTunes by holding the option key.  If you use iTunes for converting it will add them to iTunes - that's the way it behaves. I often use non-iTunes applications such as Max or XLD for doing my conversions (you also get to use the LAME codec for mp3 which some consider better than iTunes).
You can add a column to your lists display which is format, or just go by the file size or bit rate display columns.  While not definitive, I can usually depend upon files saying 128k bitrate or 3 MB in size to be mp3 (I have almost no AAC tracks) vs. AIFFwhich would have much higher bitrate and much bigger files.
If you have mp3 files and want to put them on a flash drive, highlight the items you want to add (it could be a whole playlist) and drag this from the iTunes window to the flash drive in a Finder window.

  • Downloads for Creative Zen mp3 player Vision: M (30

My new Zen 6GB freezes up in mid-40 degree temperatures and won't reset. It just gets stuck, then the battery goes dead, and it wont restart until fully charged again. When it's cold I can't even reboot it with a paper clip. If I leave it in the car for more than an hour the same thing happens. Is this a known problem I never had these problems with the godawful iPod. I can't imagine it's "normal" for it to be unusable outdoors whenI bought the black Creative Zen mp3 player Vision: M (30 GB) back in August 2007, and both discs that came with product are lost, and I need to desperately replace them. I know where the download section on the Creative website is, the problem is that I do not know which two programs came with my player initially, thus I do not know what to download. Can anyone tell me the names of the discs that come with this model so I would be able to download the correct two programs Thank you kindly. John it's 5 degrees above freezing. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure that won't work on a Mac.
Check the install disk, it might say what systems are supported. If not, look at the files on the disk. If they're all named like PC files they're likely for a PC. If the disk has a Mac partition the files will look like they have Mac-style icons and names.
I also note that Macs don't use an 'autoplay wizard'; that's a PC thing.

  • I am looking for a new MP3 player. Can you please help me pick one o

I used to own a Creative Zen Micro (6GB) but it died on me due to hard dri've failure. So I am now looking to purchase a new one. I need one that can meet the following criteria.
a.) Flash Based (The mechanical hard dri've ones break too easily.)
b.) Does not require software to transfer music on and off the device. It should use the USB mass storage device class protocol, instead of MTP or PDE. This way I could put the device in my friends computer and copy or transfer files off, without the need for additional software.
c.) Good navigation capability with ID3 tag reading
d.) At least - 4 GB. (I am not going to be away from my house for long periods of time so I don't need to carry a whole lot of music with me.)
e.) Does not require any conversion of audio files. It should play MP3 nati'vely. Nati've OGG playback is an optional plus.Message Edited by GMBazillion on 2-2-200608:57 AM

If you are looking for a Creative player only The Zen V and Zen V plus are good options. I think they will satisfy most of your requirements.
Strike that, I don't think this will act as an "external hard dri've" as described in bMessage Edited by fdreinthea on 2-2-200605:37 AM

  • Trying to install software for Creative "Zen" MP3 player

I can't find anywhere on the documentation that this is a PC only device, but I am having trouble installing the software to get our MP3 players started. I can see the CD and it's files once I have loaded it, but it does not take me to the Autoplay wizard to get things started. Any tips????

I'm pretty sure that won't work on a Mac.

  • Downloading books for MP3 player

Are there audiobooks in MP3 version to download for my MP3 180 Pro?

Whats the best way for you to do it? I don't know for sure, you gave too little information for a detailed answer.
I will tell you how I did for my old mp3 player.
First setup itunes to store the files in a known directory. Mine is set to D:\music\Itunes\
With this setting, the podcasts are stored in D:\music\Itunes\podcasts
If you look a little bit you see the setting in itunes.
I start itunes, have it download the podcasts, and then exit it the program.
I plug in my player, it shows up as drive H:
In the folder D:\music\Itunes I have batch file that I click and it does the rest.
    heres the batch file.
    xcopy podcasts\*.mp3 H:\music\itunes\* /s /i /f /y
    del podcasts\*.mp3 /s
this copies all the podcasts into the mp3 player, keeping them separated from my music. It also deletes the podcasts off my desktop after they have relocated to save space.
I usually delete the podcasts manually off the mp3 player after I have heard them.
    Hope this helps.

  • What makes creative mp3 player diff from the othe

I know creative sounds better than other players but what is it that makes it better?
As far as my little knowledge is concerned, the thing that matters the most is SNR. Zen is 98db whereas iRi'vers are 95 and ipods are around 90. Am I correct?
I am in the market for a new MP3 player. I have owned a zen before but I am not able to convince myself to get another zen. Now I need a new one.
I am looking at zen micro but not sure if the headphone problem still persists with creative players.
What are the new players in the market?
Anyone heard about gigabeat from Toshiba? Any new players with comparable sound quality?

Those features and the fact that iTunes is like the surburban shopping mall of music. I wanted to be able to download the wild blue yonder, so I never even considered and ipod.

  • Mp3 player  with  built in speaker

    HI,
I am looking for a basic mp3 player with a built in speaker under $100.
I just want to listen to podcasts that I download on my macbook and then
transfer to an mp3 player. I don't need video or lot of bells and whistles - but a built-in-speaker is crucial as well as being able to marry with a mac.
Simple drag and drop would be ideal.
Thanks a lot for any suggestions.

MP3 players come in a range of options and prices. iPods are probably the best, but are also among the pricier. You can see a bunch of options here: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Audio/iPod-MP3-Players/abcat0201000.c?id=abcat020100 0&searchterm=mp3%20player&searchresults=1
Since this is an iTunes Forum, please be aware that the automatic sync option for iTunes only applies to iPods, and does not work with other players. You can however use your MP3 tracks both in iTunes and in your portable player.

  • Cs4 mp3 player

Are there any cs4 source files anywhere for a  simple mp3 player?
I looked in the components for a mediaplayer component and I don't see it.

I found the MediaPlayBack component, but I would like to see something like it in an cs4 movie. I cannot publish anything with as2 because flash professional cannot find toplevel.as, even though it is there. It seems like there must be a basic mp3 player out there somewhere with the source code available so people don't have to start from scratch.

  • Mp3 player opening in new window

I have made an mp3 player which works fine but I have one issue. Currently if you click on the speakers it will open the player in another window. That's what I want but what I need help with is can you tell me of a way for the original player to stop playing and then new one which opens to continue playing.
The second player launches via a get url command, so I guess this might not work with what I am trying to achieve.
Here is the link to the file.
    http://www.khawkinsdesign.com/boombox/mp3.html
The idea is for the original mp3 player to sit on the first page of a website and the second one to float when opened over the other pages the user navigates through.
All assistance would be greatly appreciated!

  • Mp3 player not recognized. (Vision: M 60

    Hello.
I am using Win XP MCE. I just installed all the drivers that came with the CD. I had the MP3 player unplugged as instructed, and connected it at the point it asked me to. It is plugged into a port I know works, because it is the one I used for my old MP3 player.
Anyone know how to solve this issue?

Are you getting the following error message?
"One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it. For assistance in solving this problem, click this message."
I've been getting this message for months and nothing seems to fix the issue.
    I even tried
    http://mycreativefansite.googlepages.com/myzenchecker_home.html
And their program said I was running the latest version of XP, but for some reason the drivers won't recognize.
