FEATURE REQ: "Developer Export" mode for raw jQuery
I've just started tinkering with Adobe Edge Animate and really like the ease of handling and previewing CSS animations. There's one unfortunate deal-breaker for me though. As a developer, I want, nay, NEED, to be able to tweak the resulting code, but being that Animate wraps the jQuery code in its own complex and opaque Javascript library, this really isn't feasible. Even if I delved into it's finer workings this would effectively recreate the trouble the tool saved me in the first place.
What I'd really like is a 'Simple/Developer Export' mode which forgets all the complexities of cross-browser shims and just exports the simplest HTML, Javascript and jQuery code needed to create the animations/interactions in a standards compliant browser. That way I can use it as a jumping off point for things which are easier in code.
I believe this approach would also save the headache of the Flash days, where designers would make complex animations that weren't optimum from a code point of view and would need to be painstakingly recreated in code (ActionScript, back then)...
Much promise here. I hope it moves forward in a direction useful for devs as well as designers...Thanks.
My observations of what is happening is exactly what you are seeing with one exception about the XMP update. <br /><br />My reply that I posted about seeing the XMP file being updated was based on the observation that when I did a File > Write Keyword Tag the time and date changed on the XMP file as seen with Windows Explorer. I also looked inside the XMP file with a text editor and saw the updated comments and tags inside. See this section of the XMP file that shows the comments and tags:<br /><br />------------<br /><rdf:Description rdf:about=""<br /> xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/"><br /> <dc:creator><br /> <rdf:Seq><br /> <rdf:li>Baden Smith</rdf:li><br /> </rdf:Seq><br /> </dc:creator><br /> <dc:rights><br /> <rdf:Alt><br /> <rdf:li xml:lang="x-default">Copyright - Baden Smith - All Rights Reserved</rdf:li><br /> </rdf:Alt><br /> </dc:rights><br /> <dc:description><br /> <rdf:Alt><br /> <rdf:li xml:lang="x-default">Fishing boats sailing by our balcony at dawn in Zanzibar</rdf:li><br /> </rdf:Alt><br /> </dc:description><br /> <dc:subject><br /> <rdf:Bag><br /> <rdf:li>Africa</rdf:li><br /> </rdf:Bag><br /> </dc:subject><br /> </rdf:Description><br />------------<br /><br />My original question posted was about the export to JPG and not seeing the camera EXIF info being exported. Do you know if this is configurable or is a bug?<br /><br />Baden

Issue in Develop mode for embedding google map
Hello,
I am facing an interesting issue in Develop mode for embedding google map html code (screenshot is attached)
The map rectangle showing almost same size box underneath filled in black, while in preview mode, it is working properly. I could not find the reason, where I am doing something wrong.
Many thanks .Hi Muzeone,
Its a default behavior with every WYSIWYG HTML Designer or editor,
Reason :The black box which is appearing in the design view is because you might have tried increasing the size of the iframe thumbnail.
If you are using Iframe and using Insert HTML feature in MUSE, make sure when you paste the iframe code in MUSE, it creates a thumbnail in design view do not resize it in design view.
Size does not change the height and width of Iframe in MUSE as its being controlled by the codes that you are inserting.
The design view will only show you iframe height which is defined in the codes below that it will show a black box.
Enjoy working with MUSE !!
Thanks

Hi to all, I use Windows 7, 64Bit and Lightroom 5.7, Camera Raw 8.7, when I develop or export files (mostly Raw Fils from Nikon D810) after 10 to 20 pictures my computer shuts down or I get a bluescreen. Please tell me why.
Blue screen/Computer shuts down is almost always a hardware malfunction or a driver problem.
Make sure your video driver is up to date.
If it is, then the next suspect, in my mind, is overheating, make sure all of the fans in your CPU case are working properly. -
Missing pro features in 64 bit mode
so i spent $4,000 on a new 64 bit computer, done everything in order to be 64 bit compatible only to find that pro features such as "exporting audio to quicktime" are missing from 64 bit mode. now this is one of the most important features for folks like myself who wrtite music for advertising/film/tv. are there plans to make this feature available in 64 bit? the manual suggests that this feature will be gone from future releases.
It is believed that this is due to the limitation of the current Quicktime code that is still 32bit. Hope is around the corner with the announced June release of Final Cut X in 64bit and most likely QT 64bit.
It surprised many that the recent Logic 9.1.4 release didn't include that fix if you think that the QT must be ready by now. Question is, how long do we have to wait for 9.1.5 with QT 64bit, or a possible Logic X written for OS X Lion.
Trust me, you are not alone with your pain.

Develop settings when importing RAW + jpeg
When importing NEF files from my D700 I apply the landscape sharpening pre-set and am happy with the results. However on my Fuji X20 I import RAW+jpeg rather than just RAW, in this situation if I use the landscape sharpening pre-set sharpening is applied to the jpeg as well as the RAW resulting in the already sharpened in camera jpeg being grossly over sharpened. If on the other hand I use none for the develop pr-set no sharpening or noise reduction is applied to the jpeg and a minimum amount applied to the RAW file, more or less what I want except I want the higher landscape sharpening applied to the RAW files. Is there anyway to modify the built in pre-sets so that they only get applied to the RAW files when importing RAW+jpeg pairs?
Dave RosserI believe the answer is No, you cannot apply a preset at Import time based on file type.
What you can do is after you import, filter on File Type and set it to JPG and apply another preset that changes the sharpening settings of the filtered set of files, then go back and turn off the filter and work with both sets of images as you want.
To filter by File Type, you need to go to Library Grid, enable the filter bar with the backslash \ key if necessary, then select Metadata, and either change one of the existing filter columns to say File Type or add a new File Type column.
Once you have created and applied the filter, you can save it as a filter preset that can be applied by the filter preset selector at the very right and just above the thumbnail strip at the bottom, even in Develop mode.
You might make one for raw and for jpg in case you want to swap between the two, and if you shoot JPGs with more than one camera model, you can add the camera model to the filter criteria. -
Developing InDesign docs for both print and web
I develop InDesign documents for offset printing but now the organisation wants to drag itself into the 21st century by also putting these same documents up on the web (as interactive web pages that respond to user input). I am looking for a broad outline of the best way to tackle this, just so that I don't waste too much time trying to learn the wrong technology or the wrong software.
I have started to tag my documents with XML, so I am thinking that the route to the web is from InDesign to XML then via XSLT or CSS to XHTML. Is that the best and/or only way to do it? I assume DreamWeaver will also feature in the equation at some point.
These documents are test questions. They are pretty simple. All the paras will have para styles but there will be some overrides of the font like bold, italic, underline, subscript, superscript. Presumably these all need to be tagged with XML, perhaps using character styles? There are lots of inline graphics (ai and psd files) that will have to be converted to png, I guess. I also have attached metadata via XML attributes and I want that metadata to get to the web page and help direct the action based on user input (like which answer they give to a question).
Since I have always worked on print documents, I don't know XSLT, CSS, XHTML or even HTML so I just want to get started on the right foot.
Any suggestions welcome, including perhaps good tutorials or other resources. And obviously I want to automate this process as much as possible using scripts.
Thanks,
BrianHi Brian,
I wanted to do the same at my work, but my boss didn’t allow me this. So, I have a general idea about how to do it, but have no chance to implement it into a working solution. In my opinion you answered correctly to your own questions and you are on the right track.
As to tutorials and resources, I couldn't find much information on the subject so far.
The best tutorial I know about is in this book:
http://www.amazon.com/Designers-Guide-Adobe-InDesign-XML/dp/0321503554
(Chapters 9-11)
See also this tutorial:
http://indesignsecrets.com/how-to-export-basic-html-out-of-cs2.php
All the
paras will have para styles but there will be some overrides of the font like
bold, italic, underline, subscript, superscript. Presumably these all need to
be tagged with XML, perhaps using character styles?
There are a couple of ready to use scripts that do this — you can run such a script and then Map Styles to Tags.
There
are lots of inline graphics...
That's good — inline graphics are better then stand alone ones for XML export.
I don't
know XSLT, CSS, XHTML or even HTML so I just want to get started on the right
foot.
The above mentioned book gives you basics on all these topics, but it's not enough — you'll need a good book on Dreamweaver as well. I'd recommend you Dreamweaver CS3 The Missing Manual Series.

How to set Compatibility Mode for a single site in ie10
This question was originally posted on the Answers forum -
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/forum/ie10-windows_7/how-to-set-compatibility-mode-for-a-single-site-in/187152e3-142a-4d96-8d1b-af82ef571eec
I am having problem with getting ie10 to set ie9 compatibility for a single site (sharepoint.contoso.com).
When I add this website in Compatibility View Settings (Alt > Tools > Compatibility View Settings > 'Add this Website') it adds the domain 'contoso.com' and not the individual website (sharepoint.contoso.com).
This cause other sites (www.contoso.com) to be configured to use compatibility mode. Because this is a separate site (different web server) to the site sharepoint.contoso.com (sharepoint 2010 server) we need different compatibility settings.
Using a different example to explain the issue -
Microsoft has three websites that are different websites created by different developers written in different programming languages and they only work with certain browsers.
microsoft.com (Website1 created by Developer1) - compatible with ie8/ie9/ie10
msdn.microsoft.com (Website2 created by Developer2) - compatible with ie8/ie9
technet.microsoft.com (Website3 website created by Developer3) - compatible only with ie10
The only thing the three website share is the URL contains 'microsoft.com'.
Marking 'msdn.microsoft.com' to run in compatibility mode affects the other 2 websites - mainly technet.microsoft.com which will not work now since it only runs in pure ie10 mode.
Should you be able to add an individual site to the compatibility list instead of all sites that have .microsoft.com in the URL? Am I missing a simple setting in the ie10?
As a workaround I am using the F12 Developer Tools to set the Browser Mode which temporary sets the compatibility mode. However this is not a nice solution to the end users at our organisation.problem is not solved for non corporate environments...
You could start your own thread. Then if you got that answer and it was marked Answered you would have the ability to unmark it. The OP of this one seems satisfied. Also note that this is TechNet. Consumers can get help on Answers
forums.
Robert Aldwinckle
Oh! I wrote it wrong: I should have said: This is not solved for NON-AD environments. No demands what so ever to use Window 7/8 professional in a small corporation or on a big corporation with Island of smaller departments for example offshore.
The problem is that the thread is not "Answered" by the OP, its is marked answered by a moderator (and same moderator that did the answer) so no way of telling if the OP is satisfied.
But you are right in the fact that I am almost kidnapping the thread. But a complete answer would benefit all in this case I would presume.

How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?
Starting with Flash Player 11.3, a protected mode was added as a new security enhancement for Firefox 4.0 and greater on Windows Vista and higher. This security enhancement is designed to limit the impact of attacks launched from malicious Flash content (SWF files). For additional details on this feature, please see Inside Flash Player Protected Mode for Firefox
After reviewing this FAQ, we'd appreciate if you would take a minute to let us know if it helped. There is a link to a two question survey at the bottom of the page.
While we believe this feature is fully tested and reliable, if you encounter issues with Firefox we recommend the following troubleshooting steps.
Problem: Flash content does not appear, YouTube display errors such as "An error occurred. Please try again later.", or Flash video will not function properly.
Solution: If RealPlayer is installed on your system, please disable the RealPlayer Browser Record plug-in.
Launch RealPlayer
Click the RealPlayer icon in the upper left corner of the window and choose Preferences.
Choose Download & Recording from the left hand panel
Uncheck "Enable Web Download & Recording for these installed browsers"
Click OK and close RealPlayer
Restart Firefox
If you are viewing this page in Firefox and Flash Player is not working, please click here for an HTML5 version of this video: YouTube HTML5 HD Link
Problem: RealPlayer is not installed, Flash Player crashes in Firefox
Solution:
Troubleshoot Extensions and Add-Ons by launching Firefox in Safe Mode
1. Exit Firefox
2. Click Start > Run
3. Type the following then press [Enter]:
firefox.exe -p
4. Click Continue in Safe Mode
5. Attempt to reproduce the problem
If the problem does not occur in safe mode, please try to isolate it down to an individual plug-in.
1. Exit Firefox
2. Re-launch Firefox
3. Click Firefox > Add-Ons > Extensions
4. Click Disable on all of your extensions
5. Attempt to reproduce the problem, while enabling each extension until you can reproduce the issue
If the issue persists in Safe-Mode, please continue with the steps below:
Some users have indicated that random crashing stops when clearing their Firefox profile. This step will allow you to temporarily test with a clean set of Firefox preferences, without losing your preferences.
Exit Firefox
Click Start > Run
Type the following then press [Enter]: firefox.exe -p
Click Create Profile
Click Next
In the Enter new profile name dialog, type "Test"
Click Finish
Select Test and click Start Firefox
Use Firefox as normal. If the problem goes away, clearing your Firefox preferences, or migrating the important settings (bookmarks, etc) to a clean Profile may be a good permanent solution.
If the problem persists, switch back to your old profile by doing the following:
Exit Firefox
Click Start > Run
Type the following then press [enter]:firefox.exe –p
Choose your old account (typically "default")
Click Start Firefox
Solution: Try a clean Windows profile (You must be an Administrator to complete this step. If your user account is not an admin type, skip to the next section for instructions on reporting a bug.) Creating a new Windows user will rule out any account-specific preferences that may be enabled on your system.
Create a user account in Vista
Create a user account in Windows 7
Use Flash Player normally. If the problem goes away, this indicates a compatibility problem, either with software you have installed or with preferences set on your account.
Reporting a bug:
Please file bugs at bugbase.adobe.com.
Choose "Adobe Flash Player" as the product
Choose "Browser Integration" as the product area
Please provide as much information as possible with what you were doing before the crash and an exact URL where the crash occurred.
If available, please attach your Firefox crash logs to the bug using the Attachments field.
Show hidden files and folders. For more details, see the instructions for the operating system that you use: Vista and Windows 7.
Crash logs are located at C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Reports\
Logs will be located in either the pending or submitted folder, depending on whether or not you submitted the crash report to Mozilla.
Last resort
Finally, if these problems are blocking you from using Flash Player we recommend, as a last resort, you either revert back to Flash Player 11.2 or temporarily disable Protected Mode. We strongly recommend that Protected Mode is manually enabled once this issue is resolved.
To revert to a previous version of Flash Player, please see this FAQ: How do I revert to a previous version of Flash Player?
To disable Protected Mode, add the following line to your mms.cfg file located in:
Windows 32bit: C:\windows\system32\macromed\flash
Windows 64bit: C:\windows\syswow64\macromed\flash
ProtectedMode=0
If the mms.cfg file does not exist, create one using any standard text editor (e.g.. notepad)
Depending on your operating system, you might need to first save the mms.cfg file to a writable location (such as your documents or desktop folder) and then copy the file into the destination folder using Windows Explorer.
To re-enable Protected Mode, simply remove the line from the mms.cfg file.
Hopefully this FAQ helped you. Please let us know by taking a minute to fill out this simple survey.
Did this FAQ help? Please ask your question on a forum for the Flash Player

PSE 7 Editor not responding. Stuck in thinking mode for eternity...
Hoping for some help with this issue. Pleeeezee
I start in Organizer, choose an image to edit, click on the quick fix (shoot in Raw), do some simple changes, then if I need more fixes I click on Open Image. The Editor window pops open and then the thinking mode for eternity is what happens next. Sometimes the image does finally appear but it could take several minutes. Has become increasing worse lately where images do not appear at all.
Has 3GB memory, maxed out the memory usage in the performance. Just uninstalled PSE then re-installed it and still have the same issue.
Not sure what else I can try. If anyone has ideas or has dealt with this same issue before, please share.
Thanks!!
-MartinPlease provide more specific info about your computer - processor (single or dual), OS (XP, Vista or 7), 32-bit, video card, etc.
You realize RAW file will require a lot of power to process. Using a memory-stick (ReadyBoost) may help.
Personally, I gave up trying to process RAW in PSE - switched to Lightroom 2. Only use PSE for editing work beyond scope of LR2 - like Panaramas, merged exposure, etc.

Is xmp files only availble for RAW files?
When we develop a RAW image with Camera Raw, we always get an xmp file with all the settings,
But after I developed a JPG image, I saw the Camera Raw Settings icon appeared above the right upper corner of the image thumbnail in Bridge,
however, I couldn't find the xmp file.
Is xmp files only availble for RAW files? JPGs or TIFs don't have xmp files for their Camera Raw settings??Read-only didn't work for me, on a single jpg file, although it did lead to some interesting behavior. Set the read-only attribute on a jpg file in Windows XP and then tried the following:
1. Opened in Bridge, then into ACR 5.4. Performed some edits, then tried "Done", received permissions error and would not save edits.
2. Did the same except now invoked "Open", went into CS4 with edits intact and allowed saving out as different file. However, the ACR edits were not saved within the jpg, as expected, nor was a xmp created.
3. Removed the read-only attribute, repeated (2). Even though did not save file in CS4 the "Open" action did embed the edits into the jpg.
So read-only doesn't really allow creation of a xmp file, other than perhaps temporarily for transfer to Photoshop. It does lead to somewhat inconsistent behavior, in that I would have expected the "Open" to fail also since it could not bury the edits in the jpg.

Seeking to persuade, Adobe still insist FP Development. Waiting for answer on line.
I am an AS3 developer, deeply in love with it. Recently I was very disappointed with Adobe.
Fp11.8 seems update frequenctly, but nearly no change. New feathers is all the same every time, why? Unity 3d and Fusion Chart has said goodbay to Flash Player, Weather Adobe is also? Not sure exactky what's your point, but FP has been gaining some pretty nice features. The GameInput API, for example, is awesome despite a couple of remaining bugs, and a few cool GPU-acceleration features and updates have been creeping in FP too. I'd assume the frequent updates are more due to stability, while point releases are the ones where you see new features. You may want to double-check the changelog to see what has been changed on every version.
Unity has said goodbye to Flash because it solved a problem that was virtually nonexistant, and Fusion Charts would do better with a more cross-platform solution (e.g. Canvas/SVG) considering their target audience. I don't think either have anything to do with Flash technology per se. -

Has anybody successfully created a complex (master/detail) type of report using Report Queries/ Report Layouts? Since you can't control the XML and Report Queries (with multiple queries) are independent of each other, I can't see how this would work
