Feature Request: Control Text Orientation on Chart Labels

I notice that chart labels will automatically rotate 90 degrees counterclockwise when there is not enough space to display them vertically.  However, I would like to be able to control this behavior so that I can make vertical labels when my charts are larger.  A simple toggle option would be great.

In the Alerts tab of iChat preferences, select Video Invitation from the Event pop-up menu. Then select the Run Applescript checkbox and select Auto Accept.applescript from the adjacent pop-up menu.
Granted, this doesn't give you password authentication, but I don't believe anything is available for providing that capability.
Hope this helps.

  • Tab control text orientation

I can create a tab control and place the tabs on the right-side.  When I do this the text is vertical.  Can I make the tab text horizontal AND have the tabs on the right side?
    Thanks,

    Hey Dan,
I didn't find any settings to change the alignment for the text.
You could make the page text invisible and use customized stringcontrols which you set visible/invisible (when switching between pages) instead of the original labels.
    hope this helps
Or another approach could use the "import Image" method to set the image to be the text you desire.
The following illustrates the effect and the code used to achieve that effect.
Note: There used to be a thread here on the forums that explained how to impor the images with reorting to doing programatically. I wonder if I just can't find the button to push to do it while editing. If you know about that old thread or know how to do this by editing please chime in!

  • Feature Request: Dynamic Text

As it stands, there is no way to display computed text except by way of an edit_field, which looks like an input to the user.
    Please provide a dynamic_text lr-view.
I mean the edit_field would be fine if it didn't have a box drawn around it, and if it wasnt editable... - It can be disabled so it isnt editable, but then it's hard to read (and looks like a disabled input instead of an output).
    Thanks,
    Rob

    Hi,
I've definitely bound the title property of a static_text control in a number of plugins.  It works fine so I don't think we need a new dynamic_text control.
The only item you need to be wary of is the width will be set to support the initial value only. So you may need to use fill_horizontal or explicitly set the width value to allow space for the future values it will be displaying.

  • Feature Request: predefined text

It would be awesome if we could have the possibility of entering some predefined text into a textfield, for example if the content of the textfield is supposed to be a URL, then the field can already contain the "http://" string or any other text that is customizable.

Thanks for the feedback, its very helpful.

  • Feature Request - More text capability

I use Lightroom for all my photo printing, and would occassionally like to print greeting cards, with titles, location information, etc. printed on the back panel.  Unfortunately, the standard text blocks and identity plate don't provide enough options (eg. multiple lines of text - is there a way to do that?)  It would be very helpful to have the ability to add text blocks and position them as desired from within Lightroom - eliminating the need to create text in a separate application.  I see this included in the books option - can't you add it to other templates as well?
    Thanks

Can you create a PDF from the Book Module and print from that? Seems like you might be able to kludge something together, although I haven't given it much thought.

  • Feature Request: overflow text (threading text into another text box) as in InDesign

I would like to see overflow text (threading text into another text box) as in InDesign

Brilliant. Thanks for the reply. The file I'm using is the same one I've been using as a emplate for about 3 years now, but I've recently upgraded to Windows 8 and re-installed my copy of InDesign onto that, so I could have inadvertantly flicked one of these settings on during setup.
I'll look through the properties or something and see if I can find the language settings.
Thanks Steve, I appreciate your help. :-)

  • Feature request - More ID3 tag support (Key, label etc)

As the subject suggest, please include more ID3 tag support, I'd love to manage my library in iTunes alone, but now I rely on other applications to enter various bits such as:
    - Key
    - Label
    - Catalogue nr.
and I'm sure there are a few others you can think of; but these 3 would be on my short-list.

  • Feature Request: Ignore text after the first "/" when sorting by artist

Ok, so I figured that when sorting by artist, the word "the" is actually bypassed - Great thing! I've also figured that when I include a "/" after the first artist name (and add another artist), it goes last on it's sort zone. I think it would be nice to bypass the rest of what's written after the first "/", so that when sorting by artist I could get the correct album sequence as well.

  • Feature Request: Please fix text editing

    Hi there great Adobe Team!
I am usign your product for rapid web prototyping.  Often times ontop of my interface drawing, I use the text tool to write some text, and then put a nice colored background box behind it.
The problem I am facing is this:
It seams you have mapped the control-left and control-right keys to change the spacing of the letters.  Unfortunately, this is a common mapping used in windows to jump to the next word!
Your current key mapping assignment makes text editing quite troublesome!!!
Can you please change these key maps in your next update?
    Thanks very much
    Sincerely yours,
a developer that uses Fireworks and Adobe Cloud everyday!

    TokyoFire,
Hi! This is a user-to-user forum. I recommend that you submit your feature request directly to Adobe using their official Feature Request and Bug Report Submission form:
    https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
For future reference, it is possible to change many of the keyboard shortcuts in Fireworks using the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog (under Fireworks > Keyboard Shortcuts). Here, you can choose from several different sets or create your own customized set. Within each set, there are three categories: Menu Commands, Tools, and Miscellaneous.
Unfortunately, none of these categories seems to include the shortcut to which you're referring (for text kerning). To expand upon your suggestion, I'd recommend that Adobe consider adding this missing shortcut to the Miscellaneous category, or create a new category called Text, where users can access and modify this and any other missing, text-oriented keyboard shortcuts.

  • APEX 4.2 HTML5 Charts Feature Request

    HI,
Good job so far with APEX 4.2 ! Having used it for a week now and here is a list of feature request for the HTML5 Charts
    1. Allow formatting for secondary Y-axes
    2. Allow to set line thickness in line chart
    3. Allow to set text in bold
    4. Allow Web service as data source
    5. Allow to turn SQL result rows into multiple series columns
Idea is to avoid manually editing the Chart XML or avoid the need to create complex PL/SQL for the data source SQL.
    Best Regards, Timo

  • Feature Request:- Option to reply to reply to emails in text

    Hi there....
Is it possible to set up replying to emails to send text (with no html)
If not, can i get a feature request to send emails in text, or is there an app that has this feature?
It is sad I get maybe between 40 and 100 emails a day, that I cannot reply to on my Touchpad, or Pre 2, as they only allow text email return.
as of 2007, there were over 109 million yahoo group members across 8.8 million groups. Mostly support forums, sending and recieving emails to and from 109 million people.
These support forums and other ghelp yahoo groups, require emails to be received in text, and in our email apps had to set for text only, to avoid viruses and other attempts at marketting.
I get my yahoo support emails, on webos, but cannot reply from webos, and have to wait until i get to my laptop with thunderbird.
please can you add text send/reply option for those 109 million plus yahoo group users who cannot reply to yahoo groups emails.
    thanks....
this is a major pain and must be for others.

Managing layered PSD files in Aperture
For those who absolutely must manage layered PSD files in Aperture, here is the way to do it...
1- In your original PSD file, HIDE ALL LAYERS above the background layer
2- IMPORT this PSD file into Aperture
3- CREATE A VERSION in Aperture by choosing to edit externally in Photoshop.
4- Back in Photoshop OPEN THE ORIGINAL PSD file along with the new version
5- LINK all the LAYERS in the original PSD file and DRAG them TO the new VERSION (holding the shift key down so they pin register)
6- SAVE the new version in Photoshop
7- Back in Aperture your version is now an exact layered copy of your original which will not flatten when reopened from Aperture into Photoshop.
Obviously this process will be rather tedious if you need to deal with hundreds of layered PSD files, but if you are in that situation that implies you already have a workflow and a storage strategy that works well for you. So why change, especially to Aperture?
Adobe Bridge or Media Pro or Portfolio are the obvious programs for you !

  • Feature request...rich-text for notes field

I hope Adobe reads these posts!  Notes in Presenter would be much better if they accepted rich-text.  This only makes sense since the Notes field in PowerPoint is rich-text.  Please add this feature in future releases.

    Hello,
You could get directly to the Adobe team if you filled out a proper feature request. Here is the link:

Then you will be sure that they read your request, and they do, believe me,

  • Feature Request: Brush Size/Feather Control Like CS5

CS5 introduced a brilliant way to adjust brush size and feathering on the fly with a couple of spring-loaded keystrokes.  I plugged those into my Wacom pen and while holding the button simple drag left/right to change size and up/down for opacity.  Works brilliantly.  Would love the same functionality in LR4.

    Well welcome aboard then.
This forum's primarily focused on the new features and bugs that are in this beta.  Your request is great, but as it may not make the final release, and we wouldn't want the request to get lost in beta land, might I suggest adding it as a suggestion on the Feature Request forum http://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family where it can easily be tracked?  If you post the link to your request here, others can also vote on your request.  In fact, if you search over there, you may find others with the same idea, so you can add your vote.

  • Delivering on your top feature requests!

    Dear Adobe EchoSign community --
As Fall starts to settle in, [at least in the Northern Hemisphere], I wanted to share progress we've made on your feature requests.  As context, our team sits down weekly to review your top feature requests that come from our community sites, our support, and our 1:1 conversations. Year to date, we've already delivered more than 80 of your top feature requests: Enterprise administration, API flexibility, improvements to our fields and more.
A partial list of the most-requested features delivered include:
Refreshed and new clients for Android and iOS
New sign-only role : control who has signing privileges, and who can send agreements
    Batch user creation: enable/disable accounts
Ability to update & edit your published widgets
Advanced data retention policies and configuration
Field alignment & form field sizing during form authoring
Text Tags for creating hyperlinks in documents
Specify text color, font and font size for form fields through text tags
Repeat fields at the same location with the document via text tags and form authoring
EchoSign signature stamps on documents through text tags and form authoring
EchoSign Transaction ID on documents linked to the EchoSign Audit Trail through Text Tags and form authoring
Field labels for radio-buttons, check-boxes and links from text tags
Enable/Disable form fields through conditions during e-sign
Enhance reporting to export read-only metadata included with the agreements
And a huge amount of work with the REST API Set:
    Sending documents with phone authentication
    Creating widgets with multiple counter-signers
    Replace signers through the API
Allow signature delegation through the API
    and more.
Over the remainder of the Fall, our key focus areas include the new Salesforce1 release, expanding our enterprise administration capabilities, building out the REST API, and the constant work on the SaaS infrastructure to increase performance, availability, and security.  We have more to here.... we know!  So keep the feedback and ideas coming.   And thank you for your engagement and use of Adobe EchoSign.  Hope to see you at Dreamforce '14.

    Evita,
Yes, you can still vote on Accepted. (You can even vote for "Scheduled for release...", because sometimes we need to move features from one release to the next)
Accepted means that it sounds feasible to do and we can do it, but "when" has not been established. Please add votes to help that decision.
Rejected Just that, we have no plans to do this. I don't revisit rejected on the Exchange.
(However, some features that have been rejected have been discussed on the forum and we've reconsidered. We have also changed "rejected" to "accepted" on previous occasions, but only based on discussions here. Some features rejected have very poor explanations as to the problem users are trying to solve)
Open We haven't read them or made any decision on them.
Awaiting Community Votes means just that. Someone has proposed a feature and no-one else seems to be interested. With the long list of features, we do need to prioritize and some features requested are obscure, so we want more feedback from the community. More votes and feedback from the community helps. We sometimes get 10 points from some folk and zero from others for the same feature.
Please note that except for the Open features, the others we have touched and added feedback.
Problems I have with the feature requests is lack of clarity in the request and more than one request described in a single request. The extra features get lost and others can't vote on them.

  • Vertical Text Orientation

    Hi,
Hope everybody has had very good New Year''s festivals.
Actually, I've got an issue with Vertical Text Orientation.
Is there a way to do this in CF?
I know that as far as the report builder is concerned, there
is a property called x-axis orientation in the file default.xml
(CFusionMX7\charting\styles\default.xml) which you can set to
    Vertical for that matter.
This is ok, for charts in cfreport builder I've got no
problem with the vertical orientation of the x-axis labels.
I want to reproduce the same in CF e.g.
    <table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0">
    <tr>
    <td class="myclassname">Label 1 appears in vertical
    orientation</td>
    <td class="myclassname">Label 2 appears in vertical
    orientation</td>
    <td class="myclassname">Label 3 appears in vertical
    orientation</td>
    </tr>
<!--- Here I just output my query --->
    </table>
Your help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks and regards,
    Yogesh Mahadnac.

    The feature is unavailable.
If you really want it, use the dedicated path :
_Go to "Provide Pages Feedback" in the "Pages" menu_, describe what you wish.
Then, cross your fingers, and wait _at least_ for iWork'10
