Feature request: inline video element

An inline video element (similar to the inlineGraphicElement) would be a tremendous enhancement to the already impressive text engine.
I know that it is late in the game but would such feature be an option in the near future?
Imagine a text document with a image clickable which loads a video in this place. This could become the next generation of reading news online with the video integrated right into the article.

ILGs as videos works today. The source (or graphic property) of an ILG can refer to any swf. If its a swf made from a video (or one with a timeline) it starts playing right away. To have controls you'd need to roll your own.

Feature Request: Third video output for script

It would be nice if VC allowed not only full screen output of the master video, but full screen outupt of the teleprompter while still maintaining control.
This would let somone be the talent, and someone be the director. If you run the teleprompter inf ull screen mode, it takes away the Director's screen.
It would mean a lot of memory and three video cards.
Other features: Ability to do more on the fly - such as run videos, sound, etc with hot keys, Video banks, etc. There are programs meant for church multi media that can do this (but can't chroma key, save video files, etc)

Great suggestion, I'll check 'em out. It also seems likely that somebody manufactures a FireWire-powered device that could do the job. I thought my old ADS PyroAV might work (Standard Def only, of course), but it only outputs a still picture of wherever Final Cut Pro's playhead was last parked. Crystal-clear video, but it essentially frame-stores and displays whatever still image it last "saw". Weird, huh?

[HTML Only Articles] Using video tag on iOS to autoplay inline videos

Hi There,
There are two situations I'm trying to accomplish, using an only HTML article.
1 - I'm trying to play a .MP4 video inline using the <video> tag. I tried a few different ways of tagging the video (adding autoplay=true, webkit-playsinline), but ultimately on both iPhone and iPad, the video always plays fullscreen in the native browser.
On iPhone, there is also some additional 'weirdness'. When swiping away from the article, the video has a habit of playing as if it was tapped on, opening fullscreen as you enter the next article.
2 - I'd also like this video to auto-play (again, inline would be ideal). I've come across several phonegap examples of why this isn't possible on iOS out of the box unless certain flags are set on the outer WebView component (on the Objective-C level).
I'm relaying on the href="videofile://" and some links to play the video, but I have customer's requesting inline video, or auto played video, neither of which I seem to be able to accomplish.
Has anyone had any success with the html video tag to achieve the two above (or anything else I could use as a workaround (file formats? flags? anything else?))

Feature Request: Option to Not Autohide Video Controller

Curently, when you enable the built in video controller it will auto-hide when the cursor is not over the movie. I'd like to request you make the autohide feature a checkbox option in the Video properties area and have the video controller stay on the screen as the default behavior. Here's why.
When students come to a sheet with an enbedded video, they have no idea it's a video unless they accidentially move the cursor over the video area. It would be great to have the video controller always visible to let users know there is a video on the sheet, and would save developers some time from having to add instructions on the sheet to play the video. I'd like to remove any/all confusion the students might have in using content built by ROME.

Say you have 10 takes to choose from. Are you able to almost like SLIDESHOW view the 10 clips full screen so you can decide, like a playlist? Or rate them as they play? It would also be great, like SLIDESHOW to be able to export a MP4 with a title, the 10 clips you are working with, and maybe add an end title and a song, just like SLIDESHOW.
I have found editing stills like this in slideshow far faster than in any other editing program.
Basically, I just need a fast means to view or export an MP4 of a set of video clips to review. You are almost there.

I was also disappointed that video is not supported in the slideshow module -I currently have to use another solution when I want stills mixed with videos, would be great to be ablo to keep it all in LR!

Canon 70D - firmware feature request - separate photo / video picture style

Hello, Canon.
I dont know, if there is a dedicated way of making a feature request for a firmware update?
I have a simple problem, so please take a look at it. When I choose a picture style in photo mode, the same style is activating for the video mode and vice-versa.
The previous camera that I had, the 60D, was remembering the video and the photo picture style separately.
I will appreciate it, if you make this behaviour available for the 70D.
It can cause a headache, if you need to shoot a video with a custom picture style, but then forget to turn it off for a photo shoot, or the other way around.

IChat and USB Video Class devices - where to file feature requests?

i'm using a Logitech 9000 Pro for video chat (iChat, Skype), and found the "generic" support of MacOS X somewhat lacking. While i'm happy with the out-of-the-box support, both running it in Parallels Windows XP and peeking around with Apple's USB Prober application revealed that the camera is capable of lots more features (USB Prober even lists them all) that the video input of MacOS X simply ignores. i.e. you can only use 320x240 (10.4) or 640x480 (10.5), 10 fps, OR (in Quicktime Pro) 1600x1200, 5 fps.
So my question is:
Is a feature request for an additional pop-up menu (like "use video stream 640x480 @ 30 fps" in the camera selector) best filed for iChat, or Quicktime, or maybe "OS X" (since it seems to be an operating system driver)?

Yes to all of those.
Sometimes settings made in other places are held between apps.
Take a Look at the Quicktime Preferences for the Player if you have Quicktime Pro or even iMovie

Is highly recommendable: I don't agree with all the suggestions, but there are many features ideas for efficiency, as the author demonstrate with examples.
Like the author says " is not an Illustrator bashing session. I really want to learn the best way to do things, and I want Illustrator to step up..."
I totally subscribe. I have more than 13 years of experience using vector drawing software and i'd really want illustrator to become a more efficient and productive tool.
Too many common techniques -used by professional artists with other vector applications- cannot be easily achieved using the current version of illustrator. If AI aspires to be the standard professional application in the market, such lacks are unacceptable.
I strongly encourage Adobe engineers to study these and other contributions and to develop a better application. Is not a question of personal preferences and gripes, but to opening a dialogue to improve our tool.

Best I can figure, too many users consider it just that; and that's why such lacks are acceptable.
I don't mean to be "forum sheriff" here, but I really wish users would stop and think a minute before posting their favorite LISTS of features as a topic here!
Personally, I just can't tolerate tedious videos for something that can be simply stated. I mean, why sit through 45 seconds of video (feels like 5 minutes) just to hear someone finally say "I want to be able to import more than one image at a time"? (As if that hasn't been requested a kazillion times here.) That's as far as I got in the YouTube clip.
This forum exists so people can discuss the merits of a suggested feature. This forum is supposed to be navigable
as a list. The whole thing is wrecked when people post their "favorite lists" of desired features, and title it as the functional equivalent of "My Favorite List".
I mean, do you think anyone wants to come here and read through every individual's "favorite list" to see if there happens to be something of interest (or actually something new) buried in there?
If you want to discuss the merits of a feature request, state it. Describe it fully (okay, even with a video if you must). But please create
one topic per request!
If you really think a feature idea has merit, then do it justice my making it
findable! The very best, most original idea that fixes all of Illustrator's shortcomings in one fell swoop is probably buried in this forum somewhere under "Joe's Feature List."

Debug symbol ID or possible Feature request

I'm pretty bad with code and I constantly get lost working with it.
but I'm pretty good at copy and pasting snippets and modifying things i need.
I've been trying to watch videos on how to target symbols and things but I keep getting lost on syntax. (ex sym.Stage.(soemthing))
Is there code that I can type on an element to make an alert box display what the symbol's name is for scripting?

I can't seem to figure out how to target something when the page is brought up to say change it's CSS or move it through code, most lessons only target symbols on the main stage, not something brought in dynamically.
As for the Feature Request, it would be nice if there was a way to drag and drop an element into actions panel and have it write out it's drilled down name into the code. Similar to After effects where you just drag and drop attributes and it automatically types out the attribute's name when working with expressions.

In Playbook we can have a single character password, why not on BB10? "too short" well it is my decision, isn't it?
There is no way to go next/previous while reading an e-mail. Please add these functions.
Add to the e-mail client, Next Unread / Previous Unread.
E-mail or Hub should have more buttons at the bottom in landscape mode. Why keep only three (or four in e-mail view) buttons when you have the real estate. It would be extremely handy if you allowed users to edit which buttons should go at the bottom. Next Previous is really needed while reading an e-mail. For example I would love to add "File" button at the bottom as a shortcut instead of forward, I rarely forward, but I file all the time. Maybe allow users to have two row of keys, add next/previous/unread. Or it could be done with a gesture. How about swiping the account name (top blue bar while reading e-mail) left and right?
When you create a new contact in BlackBerry, it gets synced to all accounts on the Hub. There is no way to limit the new contact to a specific account.
Sometimes when you file an e-mail to a folder, it stops and waits few seconds with no message. Even when it files immediately, there is a confirmation message that takes time to appear and disappear, and the folder list does not disappear automatically.
Messages filed automatically by server using server side filter rules are still showing up on Blackberry hub/inbox. In older BB versions the filtered messages did not show up in the list, filed messages still did.
When you filter your e-mails using Filter / Unread function, new unread e-mails do not show up until you close the filter and re-open. It won't just keep refreshing your screen with unread e-mails. Can BB add a button to the hub "Unread Hub" so when hub shows 8 or 2, you can actually see unread items easily without having to through so many taps.
Native BB QR scanner (Smart Tags) does not work with barcodes (it only scans with no way to use the information). There is Open In function but it doesn't work properly.
We need to add more customs search providers, and be able to add custom search strings/wildcards. For example currently there is Google, Bing, Yahoo, Foursquare, etc..
I hope BB introduces the ability include more standard & custom searches, IMDB, PriceGrabber, Ebay, Youtube, XYZ Forums, ABC Newspaper, 123 Database, Etc.. Most sites nowadays provide search string in their URL Search=?* etc...
None of the Battery apps can access system settings to add a battery icon to the top. I wish battery percentage was there.
There is no way to check carrier/mobile signal strength.
Blackberry, please add the date and carrier / SSID info to the top. Sometimes we just want to glance at the top to see the date without having to swipe.
Please bring back keyboard shortcuts. Since we can easily swipe up to bring the keyboard, just add keyboard shortcuts in e-mail, phone (true speed dialing, dialing by word?), and browser, etc.. if possible. I could always call 1800SOMETHING# now I have to look up the number or use dial pad.. Please bring it back.
Camera zoom function needs to be fixed, also please include option of fixed focus by tapping on the screen to focus. The auto focus in video is focusing in and out to various objects all the time. Stabilization feature also causes tearing/ripples, I guess it is good if you are stationary. Or use Volume Keys to Zoom.
Please allow more than 12 icons in an icon group/folder, I hated Apple for limiting apps per folder, please fix it.
Auto ON/OFF feature is not there anymore. BB should consider Auto DND (DoNotDisturb) or Auto Silent/Airplane modes instead.
Please find a way to stop the music app from automatically starting up every time it connects to bluetooth like car audio. This is very annoying.
No Panaroma mode in Camera app, why not? It is very easy to incorporate. This could be a nice addition to next release, and easy.
The text selection grips needs to be a little bigger, sometimes I cannot see where I am moving them, they work better in Playbook, nice big tabs.
Call Functions, before answering a phone add sideways gesture functions, like swiping right will forward the call, swiping left will answer with a test message, etc..
Or there should be a way to reject the call without sending it to voice mail, phones had this function a decade ago, I don't know what happened to it.
We used to be able to see the "History" without having to save the contact. Now I don't see any way to "View History" of a certain phone number, it just keeps adding
them as individual entries to the log. Now I can't see when was the last time they called me, how many times we spoke which day, etc... I loved this feature in BB5.
Where is BB Traffic? Where is BB Weather, without having to run an active frame? It will eventually disappear if you run too many apps. I liked a little Icon that shows me what the temp is, instead of running a whole app.
There is no Skype. This day and age with all other platforms having it, please either get skype (Microsoft) to cooperate, or open up BBM to other platforms. If necessary, pay Skype to develop the app, then charge BB users for the app. Most will gladly pay.
Can we tap and hold on an active frame to pin it, or can we pin two favorite apps between Call and Search & Search and Camera buttons in the bottom bar? How about Close All running Active Frames app to quickly free up ram?
I hope next generation devices have two speakers or speaker that is facing forward. When playing games or watching videos in landscape mode, I find my palm muting the speaker. I have to hold it gently with fingers to have a gap in between, something I don't want to do when I am on the subway or bus.
Blackberry Maps should have a Zoom In/Zoom Out buttons, sometimes using it with one hand, it is impossible to zoom in and out. (Zoom in is OK but we can't zoom back out)

- ability to choose deletion of an email on handset only
- desktop software working with all older BB's allowing drag and drop type of transferring data, contacts etc. (BB link doesn't recognize my old Storm)

Display xml documents - how to submit a feature request?

Safari is useless when it comes to render raw xml documents. You have to view the actual source to see the xml.
Is there an official way to submit a feature request for safari to apple? I would love to see something similar to what firefox does with xml. Safari is such a fast and nice browser, if it only could handle text/xml better...

As you said Safari simply shows all xml element content concatenated together. But no tags or attribute values. If the ContentType in the http header is set to text/xml Firefox shows an xml tree that you can nicely browse. I think IE5+ and Opera do that too. It is important to set the right content type though. Here is an example that shows nice in FF, but is unreadable in Safari:

Sure you can look at the source code, but the xml might not be pretty printed.

Anyone know how ot submit a feature request to the Mail team? I'm so tired of inline attachments. I feel like I'm using a mail client from the mid 90's.

Feature Request: Standard Keyboard Navigation in Media Browser and Project Panel

System Navigational Keyboard Shortcuts in Media Browser and Project Panel
Windows (and I'm sure Mac) has a standard set of keyboard and mouse navigational shortcuts for keyboard and mouse. I'm so used to using them in daily browsing (both in Windows Explorer and in any web browser) that missing them in the PPr Media Browser, or getting a different result in the Project Panel, is still very jarring and slows my workflow (even after having used Premiere Pro [again] since version CS4).
I propose that the Media Browser and Project Panel should honor the OS defaults for keyboard and mouse folder/file navigation. A few of the standard (Windows) keyboard and mouse navigational shortcuts are listed below (listed in order of most helpful to my own work):
Moust Back Button = "BACK"
ALT + LEFT ARROW = "BACK"
UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT = steps through the various folders within the view.
UP, DOWN walks through the directory tree while RIGHT expands the currently selected folder and LEFT contracts that directory (twirl down, etc).
ENTER opens a folder.
ALT + UP = "Folder Above"
ALT + RIGHT ARROW = "FORWARD"
F2 Renames a folder
ENTER "takes" that name to the clip. (current functionality used ENTER to rename a file/folder).
ESC cancels the renaming operation.
Pressing Enter on any piece of Media or Title, etc should take an "expected" action acording to it's context. (i.e. ENTER on a video clip would load it inot the Source Monitor. ENTER on a Title would open it in the Title Editor. ENTER on a folder would take us into that folder).
These functions exist in both Windows Explorer as well as most modern Web browsers. When browsing files and Project folders, it's what I've come to expect. It's muscle memory, if not intuitive. I realize that many of these keyboard commands are already in use in other windows/panels of the application, therefore, these commands should be Panel-specific (i.e. ALT+LEFT works differently in the Media Browser and Project Panel than it does on the Timeline/Sequence). And as always, when making such changes (i.e. changing the behavior of ENTER to F2), this set of keys should be highly configurable based on preference:

checkbox: Use OS-specific navigational keyboard and mouse commands in Media Browser and Project Panel
checkbox: Use the (very few) "classic" Adobe keyboard commands in the Media Browser and Project Panel
The most common habit I find myself doing in the Media Browser is clicking the BACK button on my mouse—only to realize, yet again, it doesn't work that way in PPr.
The most common habit I find myself doing in the Project Panel is pressing F2 to rename a folder/bin. Of course that doesn't work. And when I've renamed it, I press ENTER to save the name, but that only moves me to the next folder ready to rename it, too. I also find, out of habit, I try to navigate the bins using the arrow keys and then open the bin/folder using ENTER. Instead, my bin is asking for a new name and I hit ESC to avoid renaming it—now THERE's a shortcut that works the way it should.
I realize this feature may be controversial to some, since it's not the way we're used to doing things in PPr. However, I'm sure there are just as many out there, like me, who are confounded as to why PPr has never worked with the "conventional" navigation shortcuts found throughout the rest of the operating system, be it Windows or Mac.

Feature request: Print function in Web Inspector

Safari's web inspector rocks. It would be neat, though, if you could print the element you've selected. Sometimes I don't want to print an entire page, just a portion, and the Web Inspector seems like an appropriate way to specify which element to print.
Although, Safari on the iPhone has some way of guessing which element to zoom in on when the user taps a part of the web page. I suppose there are many ways to do this.

FYI, you can also do a selected area screen capture (command-shift-4 then click-drag-release) and print that from Preview.
