Feature Request Level 3 alerts to the Lounge

Hello all,
Does anyone feel that the ability of level 3's to be able to send alerts to the Lounge Level members of any benefit?
I have had a few times where sending up an SOS to the level 4 + 5's concerning a particularly troublesome topic might be of great help to users having more difficult problems.
I feel that most level 3's tend to be people helping users here as opposed to posting topics for help. But I wonder if the topics they are helping with get glossed over by level 4-5's and sometimes need more experienced help.
I think that many times level 3 helpers will begin to help a user and then the topic evolves and requires more advanced troubleshooting.
I know that level 4's and 5's peruse the forums quite thoroughly but wonder if topics get "glossed" over if in progress already. I say this in regards to a topic that seems simple from the outset but evolves into something that a less experienced person helping can't deal with. It seems that the ability at that point to send an alert to the lounge would really come in handy. Whether to act upon or not would be at their discretion but at least an alert to them would be posted that there is a troublesome problem.
I know that level 4's and 5's post in the lounge for additional help but what I'm asking here is not that ability but rather just a place where level threes could send up a flag to alert the lounge of such situations.
I hope I'm making some sense here....and not trying to degrade the benefit that level 4's + 5's have with their "lounge" but rather just enhance the discussions.
I'd love to hear from you if you see inherent problems with such an idea. Would it be abused somehow, etc. etc.? Or is there just some simple reason that this would not be appropriate?
best regards,
littleshoulders [:-)

Hi ~Bee,
I knew I could count on you.....)))
Thanks for taking the time to respond with your thoughts and your offer of communicating if I were to have a problem with a topic.....it's most appreciated!
I was just thinking a feature such as that would help level 3's to do alot of pre leg work with topics and filter the more troublesome to the more experienced users here. As I'm sure you know yourself, topics can sometimes elevate into much more difficult solving to resolve them, than at first glance.
Was just a thought that might help refine how the discussions could work better.
I didn't think of posting alerts to level 4-5's here in the Feedback About Discussions forum....I wasn't sure if that was appropriate to the forum but I guess it is.
Thanks again as always for your assistance and thoughts,
littleshoulders [:-)
PS. Get ready for the onslaught of emails.....just kidding )))))....but sure would appreciate being able to email you and get some added help if I needed it for some difficult topic. Thanks for the offer!
edit; An example of a topic can be found here where it would have been nice (appropriate I think) to have been able to have sent an "alert" to level 4-5's for some help.

  • Feature Request: Raw-Lite for the F5/F55

Hi Sony Staff, Here's a feature request that I've been pondering for a long time now. Raw Lite on the F5(5). Is it a possibility? I'm a huge fan of the conventional 3:1 compressed 4K 16-bit Linear Raw from the AXS-R5. It provides a supremely high quality digital negative, with as much detail and tonality as you could ever really need. However the file sizes are very large. 1TB yeilds roughly an hour of recording time. And the storage costs associated with that are enough to scare away MANY producers from shooting Sony Raw (even with all of the benefits that doing so offers).  You guys have addressed this issue nicely with the F65 by offering Raw Lite with it's 6:1 compression (which coincidentally, is a compression rate that many, many producers are content to shoot with on the most prolific raw cameras out their - the Red Epic/Dragon/Scarlet cameras). Being able to offer producers the option to shoot Sony Raw Lite, with it's massively more managable file sizes would greatly increase the uptake of Sony Raw for production - and that benefits everyone. It benefits the camera department with a superior digital negative, it benefits post-production with greater latitude for grading and VFX, it benefits producers with a superior end product, and it benefits audiences with better looking images. Given that the F65 was able to be upgraded to offer this additional raw recording option, I assume (and hope) that it's not an impossiblity for the F5(5). So I'd urge you to strongly consider this feature request, and the added appeal it would bring to the cameras as a capture choice. Cheers, Mark

I disagree that there is little difference between 12bit and 16 bit linear raw. The difference is huge. Shadows and dark areas from the FS7/FS700 are pretty grim, lot's of noise caused by the data rounding. Besides, in terms of bit rate it's not a question of simply reducing the bit depth, you need to increase the compression. For linear raw you need 16 bits unless you do an extreme amount of data rounding. For Linear raw, if the first stop is represented by just 2 bits of data (which results in very blocky noise as noise will be one of 4 luma levels and cannot be smoothly reproduced):  stop 1: 2 bitsstop 2: 4stop 3: 8stop 4: 16stop 5: 32stop 6: 64stop 7 128 (8 bit linear limit, 128 + 128 = 256 bits)stop 8: 256stop 9: 512 (10 bit linear limit)stop 10: 1024stop 11: 2048 (12 bit linear limit)stop 12: 4096stop 13: 8192 stop 14: 16384 bitsstop 15: 32768 bits (16 bit linear limit) If you move this scale up so that the first stop is represented by using 4 bits of data you will still have pretty coarse shadows and noise (one whole f stop will only have 16 posible luma values). So rather than just use binary math most linear raw systems use floating point math to make more bits available for the shadows. But with 12bit there just isn't anywhere near the same amount of "spare" bits that you get with 16 bit, so the shadows and low key areas really suffer. Just go and look at the FS7/FS700 boards and all the compliants about unusable, grainy and blocky shadow areas in the raw. Sure raw lite would be a welcome option, but it wouldn't be one for me. The whole point of raw for me is a robust, bomb proof format that you can expose and grade as you wish without worrying about artefacts etc.

  • Feature Request - Storage Alerts

With the advent of larger and larger SD cards and indeed onboard storage, the sony alert that triggers at 75% is not useful.  On a 16GB model, 75% leave 4GB of data available that can never be used if you subscribe to the philosophy of having to remove data to make the persistent and non-removeable message go away. In essence this message turns an effected phone into 1 of two things:1 A 12GB phone to make the message go away2 An annoyance having to put up with something like 8 persistent alerts every day because the user knows better than the phone. This message needs to be configurable so that it can be swiped away, or configured to a specific percentage.  75% is also far too low. I trust the admin will not tell me anything about how this has already been answered, I already know the official answer from sony and that does not address the cause of this problem, nor the request from multiple customers for this very tiny modification.  This is a feature request, not a request to ask how to fix it (as that is not possible for the average used whom is not aware how to use ADB. Thanks, best phone ever - except this!

  • Feature Request:  iTunes to merge the "Song Name" & "Artist" fields

This is a feature request that i would like to see in a future release of iTunes. The option to merge the "Song Name" & "Artist" fields together. This would be a very valuable option when surfing your iTunes Library thru your iPod, Front Row, or Apple TV.
    Let me explain:
Not everyone knows at the top of their head who sings a particular song. This is especially true when someone other than the owner of the iTunes Library is browsing through it.
Let's say that I want to browse my ENTIRE music collection all at once. The easiest way to do this, is by browsing thru the "Songs" list because it creates 1 massive list displaying ALL the songs in the library, without having to jump into different fields. The current problem with this, is, it only lists the name of the song. There are 2 problems with this philosophy. #1 - You must know who sings the songs to have any chance of making this a useful option because the artist is not displayed. #2 - It puts them in alphabetical based on the song name. Once again, not a very useful way to make this option really functional because you will have the Artists all over the map! Keeping the Artist's songs together makes it a much more feasable option.
The solution, I feel, would be to have iTunes create an "Option" that would allow users like me to make iTunes merge the "Artist" & "Name" fields together. Make it an option so that users who do not see the benefit to this, would not have to use it. By doing this, I could now surf my ENTIRE collection via the "Songs" field in a very logical approach.
For an example, let's take a song: Artist - "Def Leppard" & Song Name - "Pour Some Sugar On Me". By clicking this option, when browsing thru the "Songs" field, it would now display as: Def Leppard - Pour Some Sugar On Me. This allows me to browse my ENTIRE library while at the same time, keeping "like" songs together, and making it very easy to distinguish whether or not it is a song I want to select. By knowing that Def Leppard is a Rock Artist, it helps to distinguish the song.
I work for a custom AV integration shop that has put hundreds of music servers into homes. We have been teaching our clients the benefits of this for some time now, with great feedback. The only problem presently, is it requires the users to have to re-edit every single file by putting the Artist's Name & the Song Title into the "Name" field of iTunes. Very time consuming! As well, because you also have the "Artists" name entered in the "Artist" field, you get Front Row displaying the "Artist" name twice, once in the song name, and once in the artist's field.
    Any feedback would be welcomed.
    Regards,
    Trevor

You might be able to get where you want using Chaotic Software's MediaRage. It can automate and batch tag editing, including building a Title tag that combines Artist and Title and, to possibly address you other problem, blanking the Artist tag.
MediaRage is not expensive and it is very powerful, you can even define regexs for how to parse tags.

  • Feature request: Ability to set the Home button to answer incoming calls

Rather than have to manipulate the slider to answer a call, it would be easier (and safer in many cases) to be able to click the Home button to answer a call. That could be implemented as an option on Settings/General/Home. Has this been requested?

it is hard for us to know, since we are end users just like you. We do not work for Apple, and Apple does not monitor these threads to answer individuals.
You may provide feedback to Apple for any enhancements you would like to see implemented at http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

  • Feature request: Repeat Alert for Calendar

At some apps you are able to set "Repeat Alert", for example: 1 time, 2 times, etc.
    But not for the "Calendar".
I have meetings and I don't want to miss them.
But now there is no possibility to have the alert until I push the home button or slide to stop...
How can I address it to Apple?
    Thank you!

As I can see for example here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2295319?start=0&tstart=0
Since TWO YEARS there is no feedback, no funcionality implemented by Apple
Sad, just sad! How they want to gain business users?

  • Feature request, option to change the chroma of the center of the color wheel, instead of white

It currently appears in white because of how or eye sees things, and monitors, RGB.  It would be great to extend kuller to be used like painting pigments, with a neutral gray, and\or black at the center of the color wheel instead of going to white, as paintings would do on paper, extending kuler usefulness even more.
    Thanks for your time,

  • Feature Request: Ignore text after the first "/" when sorting by artist

Ok, so I figured that when sorting by artist, the word "the" is actually bypassed - Great thing! I've also figured that when I include a "/" after the first artist name (and add another artist), it goes last on it's sort zone. I think it would be nice to bypass the rest of what's written after the first "/", so that when sorting by artist I could get the correct album sequence as well.

  • Where is the Premiere 'Feature Requests' forum?

I would like to suggest that Adobe add the ability to do a name and/or parameter search from the Media Browser in Premiere.  I've found feature request forums for many other apps, but not premiere.   Where should I post this request?
    David

Here is an ARTICLE with a bit more info, that might be useful, when using Stan's link. The more info that you can provide to Adobe (either for Feature Request, or Bug Report), the easier it will be for them to act on the report/request.
    Good luck,

  • Feature Request: Shortcut files to web pages should show the website's favicon

If I'm viewing a website, and I drag it's favicon in the address bar onto the desktop, then a shortcut is created to the website. But, the shortcut always has the generic "@" icon. The feature request is to change the icon to include the favicon which I dragged, so for example, if I drag the Apple favicon, I would end up with a shortcut which looks like a document with the Apple logo on it.

  • FAQ: How do I submit a bug report or feature request or otherwise give feedback about Premiere Pro?

The best way to submit a bug report or feature request is to use the bug-report/feature-request form.
The Premiere Pro team doesn’t  necessarily see and record every post on every forum and social network, but we do see, record, and track every entry  through the the official feature-request/bug-report form.
It also helps a lot if you opt into the Product Improvement Program.
Also, be sure to use the crash reporter.
We really do read all of the bug reports and feature  requests, and the software really does get a lot of benefit from  detailed crash reports.
Don’t forget about contacting Adobe Technical Support or Customer  Service, too. For information on how to contact Adobe Technical Support,  see this page. (Note that you must register your product before you can open a technical support case for it.)
If you have tried to get help from our support staff, but the service  was inadequate, I can help you to escalate your issue if you send me  your case number at kopriva at adobe dot com. You must provide me  a case number. I am not offering to solve your problem myself; rather, I  am willing to forward your information to someone if you have already  hit a dead end with our Technical Support or Customer Service.
If you have feedback about the content of the Premiere Pro Help document,  then please add a comment at the bottom of the relevant page. You can  add comments to add information, to add links, to make corrections, or  to ask for clarification.
If you want to keep up with the Premiere Pro team, then you can follow our blogs, Facebook page, and Twitter feed and so on.
Oh, and I can’t resist this opportunity to remind you to update to  the most recent version of the application. Don’t be surprised when the  first thing that you hear back from us is that you need to install the  latest updates. We fix a lot of things in updates, and we don’t want to go chasing bugs that we’ve already fixed. We’ll keep you posted on our blogs, Facebook page, and Twitter feed about updates as they become available.

    Hi qwerty,
Dun tink that creative customer support sucks cos I had been dealing with them in the past and I can say that their service are quite gd and fast. If you wanted a refund, I tink you need to contact the store that sells you the product. Dun tink creative will refund you though.

  • Feature Request - Please allow for a "classic" view option.

Please allow for a "classic" view option like you have in Mail.  Miss the sidebar that had a list of all the calendars using.  The pop up list is not nearly as functional.  iCal in Lion may be great for touch screen users but is a step back on the intuitive scale for Mac users.
Also, the delete / revert button are too close to the done button.  Too easy to hit on accident.

This is a good feature request and should be submitted here: Adobe - Feature Request/Bug Report Form

  • Multiple Imperative Feature Requests

I am a MN Photographer and have been using PS Lightroom through 2 betas and 2 release versions. I have been amazed at the improvements Adobe has added, but from my point of view, they need to add a few more features to make LR more robust and efficient!
I love the way LR makes terrific web galleries!
I am running LR from a Seagate Barracuda 300 External Hard Drive with Firewire connection. I am using a Mac Powerbook (1GHz Processor) with 60GB HD and 55% free, w/ 2GB DRAM, and an Apple Cinema Display. I can't complain about slow downs, but keep my permissions tuned once a week, both on the Mac PB and all EHDs.
    LIGHTROOM FEATURE REQUESTS
    1. From the Web module, there is only one option for adding Copyright Info to images in the Web Galleries, either ON or OFF. It would be a great addition to have this option variable by type size, type placement on images, and opacity. I last generated a web gallery and some of the images said, "2007 Alex Bachnick All Rights Reserved," but many of the images said, "Alex Bachnick All Rights Reserved," without a year. A few images said, "Copyright 2007 Alex Bachnick All Rights Reserved," like it is supposed to! The LR application has been inconsistent so far in this area. By adding a line of copy that can be saved, and by varying the opacity and placement on images would be a huge step forward!
    2. It is IMPERATIVE that you embed metadata into the Web gallery images. This is primarily for adding keywords and copyright information, but LR is inconsistent so far. Sometimes metadata is preserved, but it doesn't always get embedded when exporting images.
    3. When I generated a Flash Web Gallery, some of the color was good, some of it was terrible. I have suggested before that you write into the action that takes the original image, reduces it in size, then convert to profile from Prophoto to sRGB. I suspect that you have a script in there "Save for Web". This script is denigrating the color when Convert to Profile would preserve the color. Admittedly Safari is the primary web browser I use, and it's color-centric, whereas most of the others IE, Netscape, and Mozilla, aren't.
    4. When I use HTML for the web galleries, the color is spot on, but a young friend told me it would be better to hit one button to go through the images as in a rapidly advancing slide show, rather than hitting each image, and then wait for it to enlarge. This could be another marked improvement, if you made the output a slideshow from the Web Module.
    5. I tried generating a slideshow from the Lightroom menu, and had about 200 images in a collection. The application went through the motions, but I tried opening the slideshow but it didn't work. I tried it in PDF format and it output a 135MB file that ADobe Acrobat couldn't open. It is still not working. I have also used a third party application Photo to Movie (www.LQGraphics.com). This is a $50 application that you can add music to and vary the zooms and dissolves and this works incredibly well!!!
    6. One of my biggest problems so far is the sort mechanism. I have about 9500 images in my library, and about 5% of those were made from about 2004 and on. My images are sorted by "capture time," but the images shot back in CY 2004--2005 are mixed in somewhere way down in the pile. There are some bugs in the program for reading the capture time, and so far this is not working accurately!
    7. From the Lightroom Library module, several times I have exported images for 3rd party needs and the application puts out varying results. In March I output some images for Communication Arts magazine. They specified file size and format, and it took me several times to export the images to their specifications. I recently exported some images for submission to a UK based stock photography agent. The images came from 5 different cameras~~Hasselblad w/ Imacon Digital Back, Kodak DCS-14, Canon 1ds MkII, and Canon D-20. There were 10 images that needed to be output as JPEGs (

    1. LR uses what was written in the copyright field so it's your data entry that is inconsistent.
    2. Are you 100% certain this is not working reliably under 1.1? It definitely wasn't working at all under 1.0 and Adobe responded to complaints. Since 1.1, I've taken large numbers of Web-generated pictures into iView and not found any cases where the metadata was missing. "Sometimes" is too vague. How exactly can you prove it? What programs prove it?
    3. Not sure, but isn't this a problem because of Flash? Also the browser you use is not important - it's the browser that your visitor uses that you need to focus on.
    4. Realistically, Flash is better for this. You can always get someone to write/modify HTML templates to do such a slideshow, but the built-in templates are already very complex and this suggestion would add another layer of browser incompatibility.
    7. This isn't a feature request. Raise this in the main forum - and be specific (your post was also too long and got truncated). How can anyone help you if you say "varying results"? It's unlikely that any variation is random.
    John

  • Feature Request: Please allow us to merge audio with image sequence in AME.

So far the only programs that allow this (that I'm aware of anyway) are the old version of QuickTime Pro, and Apple's Compressor. I simply want to add an image sequence to AME, and combine an audio track to that image sequence for export. This would save me an extra step. 80% of my work begins and ends in After Effects. I do very little video editing, so most of my exports are rendered from AE and then exported from Quicktime or Compressor to whatever file my clients request (Most often ProRes for a master version, and h264 or x264 Quicktime files for the web).
Is it possible we might see this feature added anytime soon? Thanks!

  • Update my Feature Request

I posted a feature request. There is a column "update", but I couldn't find how to update (=edit and add some comment) my request. Do I have to post a new feature request and refer to the old one?

    2) Probably, since it's been brought up over and over in these forums since the iPhone was first released. The others users has similarly been pointed to the Feedback page.
