Feature request - option to turn off confirmation of changing a file extension
Dear Microsoft, please can you add an option to Explorer to disable the very annoying prompt that asks if you want to change a file's extension? For example, change test.txt to test.dat. You are asked to confirm the extension change. Change test.dat back to test.txt, you are asked to confirm the extension change.
Please let us turn this off!

I'd like to add a "me three". It's a minor inconvenience - until you've had to click "okay" for the nth time, after changing a .txt to a .bat, or whatever it might be that I'm doing at the time. It's none of the operating system's business what I choose
to call my files.

Feature Request: Option to not require confirmation of erasing Junk Mail
Many (maybe most) choices that bring up a confirmation dialog allow the user to bypass the dialog by pressing the Option key. I hope that this capability will be extended to erasing Junk Mail in the Mail app (and, wishing here) to erasing deleted items as well. In all the years I've been using the Mac and supporting Mac users, I have only encountered two instances where the confirmation got a cancellation of the erasure and requiring the Option key to bypass would not have affected those users. Meanwhile, the rest of us have to grab our pointing device to confirm, since Cancel is the default. Lots of wasted motion for an infinitesimal safeguard.

ITunes data off warning is a safety concern plz option to turn off all data warnings
The fact that every time i open itunes this very unnecessary warning comes up.

Option to turn off Siri prompt
When using Siri to call someone, Siri prompts you with äre you sure you want to call " so and so?
Users need an option to turn off this irritating prompt!!!
PLEASE!!!!That's something that started around the 8.1.1 iOS update or so. In my case it only happens when I tell it to "call home", requiring a confirmation that I'm me. If I tell it to call me by name instead, it will ask which phone to use, home, office or cell, and after choosing home it proceeds with no more fuss. Also tried setting up an alternate contact for myself with a shorter name and only my home phone and that worked fine with no prompts when told to call that contact.
Methinks SIRI better start wizening up, else Cortana is gonna beat the poo out of her. -

I'm sure I will be calling AppleCare, but the problem is, they charge for the phone calls don't they? Because I don't have money to be spending to be on the phone with a support service.
In other things, it seemed like the only time my MacBook was working was when I had Snow Leopard without the 10.6.8 update download that was supposed to be done to prepare for OS X Lion.
When I look at the information of my HD it says that I have 10.6.8 but that was the install that it claimed to have failed and caused me to restart resulting in all of the repeated problems.
Also, because my computer is currently down, and I've lost all files how would that effect the use of my iPhone? Because if it doesn't get fixed by the time OS 5 is released, how would I be able to upgrade?! -

IOS 7 feature request: Option for home button to home not folder. Maybe for some this workflow is good but not for me. To many clicks. At least give the option to have my home button take me to my home page. 9 times out of 10 that's where I want to go. Not back to my folder.

Why do I have subtitles over subtitles on some of my recently purchased Movies.? My closed caption option is turned off.
Recent purchases have been Avengers, John Carter, 30 days of night. All of them do it.
Please help me get rid of them.....The subtitle only appears in the begining of the movie during the scene with the russians. The issue has been fixed where the subtitles appear doubled. Just a simple redownload from the cloud is needed. Make sure you delete the copy in the itunes library before redownloading. Heres the email I got today:

Thank you for downloading the movie The Avengers. Unfortunately, the movie you received may have had issues with the subtitles. We have corrected the problem and a new copy is available to download, free of charge. To receive the new version, please re-download the title from iTunes.
Before downloading the new version, remove the current version:
1) Open iTunes on your computer.
2) Click on your Movies library.
3) Click the movie to select it, and press the Delete key.
4) Click Delete Movie and then click Move to Trash.
To download the new version:
1) Sign into the iTunes Store.
2) Click Purchased on the right side in the iTunes Store under the QUICK LINKS section.
3) Click on Movies and select the movie you want to download.
4) Click the Cloud download icon to download the movie.
You will now have an updated version of the movie in your Movies Library.

No option to turn off auto signature
I just got the blackberry Pearl...and there is not an option to turn off their auto signature of "Sent from my BlackBerry® smartphone with SprintSpeed". When I go into email settings (or any other settings in the message section) there is not an option for auto signature or even to adding a signature. Any ideas on why this would be or if there is an upgrade i need to download in order to be able to turn this off or add a signature?
I am not using a Blackberry Enterprise Server with this account, but not sure if that matters.

Since the latest Win 7 update -- Tue 16th -- in particular FF has been getting slower.
Tonight with FF20 using ADblock Plus and NoScript addins I have no option to turn off private browsing and when attempting to resart in safe mode I do not get the warning message.

How do I remove Facebook contacts from my Contacts list on my 4S??? I've already gone into iCloud settings and Facebook is not even an option to turn off and I've gone into "Groups" in my contact list and Facebook is not there either. How do I stop this??
Hmmmm...maybe try deleting them again (I know it's a pain) and then doing a manual icloud backup (unless you already did this). Icloud may be putting them back on there. I never allowed FB to put the contacts on my phone lol. Also try going into Privacy and Contacts...make sure FB isn't on in there. Might be a few other spots to check under settings to make sure too. And...you might want to try deleting the FB app, do a icloud backup, and then reinstall FB

When I send email to a group, it shows all members addresses even though that option is turned off in the preferences. This just started happening on all my devices. I have the latest update instaled.

When I restart my Laptop, it shows work on feature and do not turn off, and then it shows restart for two hours, what should I do?

What screen does it stop on when it is restarting for those two hours? Are you getting any error messages at all? What operating system are you using? What is the product number for your laptop?

No option to turn off iTunes Match in IOS?!
I used iTunes Match for a while and decided now to renew my subscription, so I let it expire.
On my computer I have managed to turn off iTunes Match, but when I go to Settings>Music or Settings>iTunes on my iphone, there is no option to turn off iTunes Match! There is only an option to renew.
This is frustrating as ****, I can't load any new music onto my phone because iTunes Match is still 'on'.
I've tried singing out of my iTunes account, turning off my phone, and turning it back on, but nothing has worked.
Is anyone else having the same issue?

Even after I erased and restored my iPhone from the cloud backup, there was an issue. All of the songs I previously had on my iPhone (that were erased when I restored) became 'ghost files' and didn't show up in the music app. They did, however, show up in the iPhone when it was plugged into iTunes. They showed up in the iPhone music section of my iTunes, greyed out, with a little dotted circle to the left of each song. I couldn't delete them; when I did, if I unplugged my iPhone and plugged it back in to my computer the files reappeared 'greyed out' in my iPhone music.

I'll quote it here for ease:
"I downloaded one of the file explorer programs (iFunbox in my case) for my PC and deleted everything out of the "Purchases" folder on the phone's "Raw File System". After a couple of syncs with iTunes everything was back to normal. It appears that something was screwed up on the iPhone side that iTunes couldn't sort out. I don't think anything could sync from iTunes to the phone, not just the greyed out items."
So, basically, if anyone encounters the glitch in the OP, do the following:
Back up your phone to iCloud.
Erase all settings on your iPhone.
Restore from iCloud backup.
Download a file explorer program (I used iFunbox as per Jerrill's instructions).
Delete ALL files from the 'Purchases' folder on the iPhone's 'Raw File System'.
Reset your iPhone by holding the power and home buttons until you see the Apple logo.
Plug your iPhone into iTunes, and select 'Sync Music' then check 'Sync selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres'. Uncheck ALL the boxes (don't sync any music to your iPhone).
Sync.
Unplug your iPhone and reset it again by holding the power and home buttons until you see the Apple logo.
Plug your iPhone back into your computer and the ghost files should be gone.
I then unchecked 'Sync Music' then checked 'Manually manage music and videos' because I like having more control.
Now to repeat the process with my iPad... iTunes Match, never again. -
I have connected a new 27"ACD to a 27" iMac (2010) and cannot independently adjust brightness on the external display. Also, the option for turning off the ambient light sensor is not available. The iMac has the latest updates according to Apple messages. Any help will be appreciated.
PNo, Detect Displays had no effect. However, I made the USB connection from the ACD to the iMac after the system was on. Following a re-start, all controls are available. Thank you for your response.

IOS4 & iPhone 3G: Single Song Repeat turning off on song change.
After my update from iPhone OS3 to iOS4 on my iPhone 3G I noticed that single song repeat is turned off when I change songs or go to the next song.
This can be repeated by the following steps:
1. Play a song
2. Choose single song repeat
3. Push "next song"
... notice that now single song repeat is playlist repeat.
Alternately
1. Play a song
2. Choose single song repeat
3. Go back and select a different song.
... single song repeat is now playlist repeat.
Is this the new functionality or a bug?same here! it's really annoying me, I keep all my songs on single repeat...
