Feature Request: Please fix text editing

Hi there great Adobe Team!
I am usign your product for rapid web prototyping. Often times ontop of my interface drawing, I use the text tool to write some text, and then put a nice colored background box behind it.
The problem I am facing is this:
It seams you have mapped the control-left and control-right keys to change the spacing of the letters. Unfortunately, this is a common mapping used in windows to jump to the next word!
Your current key mapping assignment makes text editing quite troublesome!!!
Can you please change these key maps in your next update?

Hi! This is a user-to-user forum. I recommend that you submit your feature request directly to Adobe using their official Feature Request and Bug Report Submission form:

For future reference, it is possible to change many of the keyboard shortcuts in Fireworks using the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog (under Fireworks > Keyboard Shortcuts). Here, you can choose from several different sets or create your own customized set. Within each set, there are three categories: Menu Commands, Tools, and Miscellaneous.
Unfortunately, none of these categories seems to include the shortcut to which you're referring (for text kerning). To expand upon your suggestion, I'd recommend that Adobe consider adding this missing shortcut to the Miscellaneous category, or create a new category called Text, where users can access and modify this and any other missing, text-oriented keyboard shortcuts.

This is a user Forum, No one here works for Apple.
If you can be a bit more clear with what your problem is, maybe someone here can help you find a solution.

Feature Request - Please allow for a "classic" view option.

Please allow for a "classic" view option like you have in Mail. Miss the sidebar that had a list of all the calendars using. The pop up list is not nearly as functional. iCal in Lion may be great for touch screen users but is a step back on the intuitive scale for Mac users.
Also, the delete / revert button are too close to the done button. Too easy to hit on accident.

Feature Request: Please allow us to merge audio with image sequence in AME.

So far the only programs that allow this (that I'm aware of anyway) are the old version of QuickTime Pro, and Apple's Compressor. I simply want to add an image sequence to AME, and combine an audio track to that image sequence for export. This would save me an extra step. 80% of my work begins and ends in After Effects. I do very little video editing, so most of my exports are rendered from AE and then exported from Quicktime or Compressor to whatever file my clients request (Most often ProRes for a master version, and h264 or x264 Quicktime files for the web).
Is it possible we might see this feature added anytime soon? Thanks!

I understand you may be short staffed, however, a company as big as adobe should understand the consequences of legal action.
Lets see:
I bought something that uses your technology in order to use.
This product does not work because of your non support.
AND you're not offering a proper workaround other than: "please fall back to reader 7" except.. WAIT!... it's not avaliable for download for vista, only version 8 is.
And on top of all this, the store which I bought the product from does not offer refunds because of this issue.
So maybe adobe would like to fix this piece of software, or maybe you can give me my money back for what I bought...

The page is quite long winded and repeats itself many times. I get the silly vista incompatibility message that I recently turned off, but yet to have had issues. I see all the images in my ebooks which I rely upon for my consulting business. I look forward to updates to ADE 1.5 which I am hoping will work well with Adobe 8? I am not sure whether it is a feature that my annotations and bookmarks never stick, or whether I just don't get how to save them.
I have just bought a second notebook, and know that if I have any troubles, the team at BooksOnBoard will help as they have in the past when I made a silly blunder.

Blackberry Complaint / Feature Request - Please add category support for calendar Items already

RIM: It's December 2010, and thousands of people have repeatedly asked for category support for calendar items for years now. In BB OS 5 & 6 we can assign categories to Contacts and Task items, but still not Calendar items? This makes no sense to me.
Many people rely on categories to keep their calendar items organized, and I'm baffled as to why such a simple feature request has continued to be ignored. Obviously BlackBerry's DO support Outlook/Exchange category syncing, since I can see all of my custom categories through the Task and Contact apps. When I add a new category for a contact, it gets synced between Outlook/Exchange and my Blackberry. The support is there. But for a professional/business smartphone OS, I'm taken back as to how this feature could be missing from the calendar in the first place.
Rim, please give us a response--a glimmer of hope--something to let us know that you are listening to us and plan on incorporating a category feature into the calendar! If the Blackberry OS didn't support categories at all, that would be a different matter and I would understand that maybe bit more development would be necessary to support this. But the capability is obviously already built in!!!
PLEASE listen to your customers RIM and give us this commonly requested feature as soon as possible!!!

I'd also suggest you call your carrier blackBerry tech support and make the point there, asking them to give it consideration on the next OS upgrade. RIM does listen to their partners.

IPad Feature Request (Please make a Video Play List feature)

Feature Request it would be really nice if Apple made a Video Play List feature just like photo albums on iPads.

Feature Request: A way for edit-field text to not be selected by default.

edit_field text is selected by default, which means as soon as the user starts typing, pre-existing content is wiped out - not cool...

I've found a partial workaround to this: Once the dialog is showing, if the you first assign the empty string and then assigned the desired value:
edit_field.value = ""
edit_field.value = desiredValue
then the contents of the field are not left selected. This works when setting the contents from, say, the result of a button push, but I haven't figured out how to initially show the contents unselected.

Feature request: please give the ability to close all background apps at once!?

Hello. Please oh please give us the ability to close all open/running apps with one click or swipe. I, like many users, like to close running apps (much like on my computer) to keep my ipad/iPhone running fast. I know you guys say that background apps are put on pause and don't slow things down but that is simply not the case in real world usage. All the time my iPhone or iPad becomes sluggish and if I swipe 30 times to close all the apps the sluggishness goes away. I like the simple and easy to use ios, but a little more control for the user would be very beneficial. This, I would guess, is one of the main reasons one would get an android device instead, because they require for fine tune control. Giving us this feature, amoung a few others, would be a win win. The end user get more what they need, and apple steals away (or keeps) more loyal apple buyers.

please make an 5.0 option for your soundcards. There are still some people out there with high-end speaker systems. "These" people don't need a subwoofer, because they have full range front speakers (40hz -20khz +-3 db and at 30 hz -6 db). Most surround reci'vers have a bass management where you can redirect the LFE ( the ./"effect channel"/the subwoofer)to the fronts. So pls implement an LFE to front redirection into your drivers for audigy and x-fi, I think this can't be too difficult, because there are 4.0 and 2.0 option available.
That is possible with my cheap onboard soundcard :-), so please show that creative is still the captain :-).

I think there is no problem in doing that yourself. As LFE is currently only used by DVD Movies, (and EAX 5.0, if the developer implements that specific part), you only need to do redirection with your AC-3 decoder. If you download AC3Filter, you can use a matrix to say where every signal should go, essentially doing the redirection process you speak about.

First of all I think you are doing great job with Lightroom and I enjoy using it. But...
No.1 feature I would like to have in Lightoom would be true RGB curves. C1, Aperture have them already.
Another feature that makes me use C1 on frequent but reduced basis is skintone tool. Ability to uniform or even out the skin tones. Basically Hue/Saturation adjustment with the color picker. Or at least "range" sliders in HSl panel. Something similar to what Bible image editor has.
Oh, and a friend of mine had a nice idea. Search functionality for presets panel. Something like we have in After Effects.

Do you mean Toolkit or TypeKit, which is part of CC? See Remove minor corruption by exporting. If that doesn't work, try exporting the text to ID Tagged Text and place in a new file, and if that also fails, try removing the fonts.

Feature Request: Support pasting text as a stream of keyboard characters

Please support pasting text as a stream of keyboard characters from a menu click rather than just relying on the remote server clipboard integration.
Often I'm in a situation where the remote desktop integration with the clipboard is disabled. E.g. password change screens. I use a local password manager to create and maintain passwords. These are often ridiculously complex to type. Sometimes they need
to be sent over the wire as characters rather than as a clipboard transfer message. This client doesn't allow this to work and makes it painful to remain secure.
Please make this less painful.

New feature request: please show values once i sort the list in My Samples

would like to see actual stats / values once i sort the list in My Samples, for e.g. it would be great to display the download count in the list once i sort by downloads or display the ratings once i sort by ratings, etc...
This should be just like when i search by my name when on the samples home pg.

I have been wanting a way to search only my threads. That would be a nice feature. I know that in the last 3,800 posts I have posted something along the line of "ZZZZ" but I can only find it by looking at most of the 3800 posts. This isn't good. I could
narrow it down to 2000 by selecting Answered, but really I still need to search? And no don't limit my threads to any amount to make it load faster because the truth is it did not load any faster on any of the 12 machines I use.
We are the generation of needing it all at our fingertips...Don't limit anything only facilitate us getting to the specifics we need at this second. You give someone a 1 cubic foot swimming pool and tell them that's enough cause it's all the space they can
take up at one time anyway...Give us an ocean so we can swim in the part that is good for us but help us get there with some flippers (filters) on our own threads. And please don't tell us to use a general search on all threads...I tried to find 1 of my threads
that way and after reading though 25 or so threads proceeded to skim the headers and after 200+ I gave up trying to find my thread because you can not unless you get really lucky.

So stuck! Need help please with text editing.

I purchased an .eps file on shutterstock that I wish to edit. I telephoned them to check that it could be edited. " not a problem, use illustrator..... "
The image has several texts. I am trying to replace the words with in the text boxes, if that makes sense. I have tried the trial and error approach for the past 2 hours with no progress.
I have tried perspective grid etc but no option is allowing me to select the text and edit it.
Anyone have an idea how and the quickest way and there is many words to replace. Really am a novice to illustrator.

Is there a method of reversing the 'outline' ? otehrwise;
i guess the quickest method now is to text box in pshop and past it in illustrator. Or is there a better method as time is an issue with this...

How can I use the "Save As..." feature in Pages or Text Edit again?

After updating both the programs to Lion OS X standards, it has lost the functionality to do so.
