Feature Request- Professional app rating

Hey. App rating is fickle sometimes. What if there was another rating beside the user rating with up to 5 stars as well, rated by BlackBerry or by approved reviewers who analyse apps thoroughly by solid standards? Trusted folks who look at all aspects of an app for design, usefulness, presentation etc. Cars have 2 kinds of reviews so apps could too. It would be especially valuable to a buyer and coveted by a vendor. Thanks guys.

f you want to report this issue to Apple's engineering, send a bug report or an enhancement request via its Bug Reporter system. To do this, join the Mac Developer Program—it's free and available for all Mac users and gets you a look at some development software. Since you already have an Apple username/ID, use that. Once a member, go to Apple BugReporter and file your bug report or enhancement request. The nice thing with this procedure is that you get a response and a follow-up number; thus, starting a dialog with engineering.

Feature Request: Allow Apps to Access Apple ID User Address

This is a feature request for new iOS functionality
If iOS gave permission for apps to access the home or billing address a user has defined when setting up their Apple ID, then I believe the app can use this address to automatically set up the shipping of a purchased item for example. This would enable apps to sell physical goods, paid for by the user's Apple ID and set up for shipping to his Apple ID address, instantly.
I believe couriers already have SDKs that allow apps to programatically register the pickup and shipment of an item.
Users can then be able to manage their addresses in iOS/iCloud.

This will never happen because of the obvious security implications.

Feature request for iTunes: Rating from iPod to Library.

I'm not able to send feature requests via the 'Provide iTunes feedback'. So I'm posting here. I use my iPod more often to listen to music than my computer. I don't have time to sit at my machine and rate files. But My commute is an hour so I've got a LOT of time on the train & bus to rate my songs as I listen to them. However when I plug in my iPod to update it, etc. the ratings on my iPod stay there and my songs in my library stay unrated.
I'd like for there to be an option for this. To be able to transfer song ratings from my iPod to my iTunes library.

Please teach me how to use this feature because it doesn't work for me. Even after restoring my iPod. Please note, I'm using an iPod Nano and I manually control my library & iPod. There is no syncing of playlists nor libraries.

Feature Request: Setting App page title to something other than "Eloqua 10"

Hello everyone,
Long-time lurker, first-time poster. As someone who has been using Eloqua for over 3 years, when working in the application, I will usually end up with upwards of half-a-dozen tabs open in Firefox, all of which say "Eloqua 10". Because of this, I'll usually try to strategically organize my tabs, but often times I end up having to click through multiple tabs to find the one I'm looking for, which can sometimes lead to Firefox freezing. I'm sure I'm not alone in this.
So to alleviate this, I'd like to make the following feature request: Can we have the tabs/windows named by Asset Type & Asset Name? Perhaps in the following Format:
[Asset Type]: [Asset Name] - Eloqua 10
Note how I have "Eloqua 10" at the end of the string. An example of a title would be: "Campaigns: Nurture_Campaign_1 - Eloqua 10"
Could this please be implemented?

IPad Feature Request -- Force App Close

I would like to request a feature for the iPad. I recently updated to OS 4.2.1 and love Multitasking, but sometimes I want to force an application to exit. I know you can switch to a different app from the one you want to close, bring up the multitasking tray, hold your finger on the app you want to close, then tap the read "-" symbol to force the application to close, but this process is cumbersome. You used to be able to hold down the Exit button for 4 seconds to force an application to quit. I would like this feature back! If I press the Exit button quickly, leave the application in the background and show it on the multitasking tray. If I hold the Exit button for 4 seconds, the iPad should force the app to close, return to the home screen, and NOT show it on the multitasking tray (a true force quit). Apple, please consider adding this feature back. It would really help with closing troublesome applications!

Feature Request: Advanced Star Rating

Is anyone else really interested in advancing star rating?
I rate all of my songs whenever I can. I wish every playlist had the ability to play higher rated songs more often. Not just smart lists. I have an idea tho as well that would be great. It should be very easy to choose your rating limitations in a playlist... maybe even have it as an extension of your PLAY button. You click play, drag down and choose which ratings you would like to limit your playlist to. Also... I want to be able to rate my songs through SIRI! We need to make rating songs as easy and natural as possible.
What if we could group songs into different "moods". This would be a way of putting all of the slow songs, heavy songs, instrumental songs into their own categories regardless of the umbrella "genre" that covers the entire album.
I think setting the "mood" of a song could be done at the same time on your iPhone as you are rating the song through gestures. So if you have 4 moods associated with your iPhone/iPod then when you click your Star you then drag down which reeals a list of moods to then choose. So you click the Star of your choice for the song and then drag down to choose the mood of the song. This is useful even within playlists because you can have a playlist playing and suddenly "switch the mood" and/or star rating limits of the playlist on the fly.
I think this type of feature will determine the music players of the future.
Until music players can read our minds! Yes, I honestly believe one day music players will know what you want to listen to even when you dont! Just by analyzing your mood... you know those times when you ask yourself... "what do i want to hear right now!" The music player of the future will tell you... Let's help get there!

Feature Request: In-App Time Keeping with Cloud Accounting Sync

Has Adobe ever considered adding In-App Time-Tracking to their applications?
I'm currently in the middle of catching up on my time-tracking. I'm two weeks behind… Don't judge me, you know you ALL do this . Anyway, I'm having a hard time remembering how much time I've accutately spent on certain tasks for certain clients. I usually go back into my emails to see who I was communicating with and what we were talking about, but that can only get me so far.
Then it occurred to me that there is no reason my Adobe applications couldn't track time for me. It would be a pretty easy thing to do. For example, while the application is open, it could clock both idle and active time and store that into a log. This could all happen in the background with very little CPU draw I suspect.
Active time could be determined by the app as—time spent in the app while the mouse or keyboard is being activated. If they aren't activated within 2 minutes or when the app is not being used, is in the background (i.e. User's browser, email, or other app is in-use instead), that's logged as idle-time. Idle time obviously wouldn't have to show up in the log. Maybe just as sidebar information.
At the end of the week, if I could export that log from the CC dialogue in my Finder, I could very quickly determine how much time I spent working on specific files, in specific apps, and on what days. Guess work eliminated!
Even better, if I could connect this information to my FreshBooks account, I'd save a TON of time doing time entry.
THAT is a feature I would LOVE to see in the upcoming updates.

I agree that a desktop app or access to the bookstore via the Web is essential for the iBook store to grow. For example, every Friday, I read the New York Times Book Reviews. To see more reviews, user reactions, and the Kindle price, I check Amazon. Once I'm there, it's a lot easier to buy the Kindle version than to open iBooks and check its availability there. Also, I have 600+ Kindle books. If I inadvertently try to repurchase a book, Amazon warns me that I've already bought it. No such warning (naturally) if I buy a previously purchased Kindle book from the iBook store. But if I could open two browser windows, it would be easy to check for duplicates. I want the iBook store to succeed, but it's time for an upgrade and soon it may be too late.

Feature request: refresh app server button

I would like to put in for a button, next to "restart server" that would basically have the effect of touching (updating timestamp) on the nitrox-application.xml file that jboss sees. That has the effect of forcing jboss to reloan the webapp without having to restart all of jboss (slow).
I am doing this now by simply adding whitespace in the xml file and saving it.

A feature request for iOS app developers...

Guys and Gals,
I have a feature request which I think will benefit iOS app developers as much as it would benefit your customers.
Any customer that has more than a handful of apps will eventually forget what some of those apps do or what makes them unique. For instance, I had not used the wonderful hotel finder, Oyster, in over a year. I not only forgot I had it, I also forgot how Oyster's service was different than other hotel finders. I had to refamiliarize myself with the app. Sometimes, this requires returning to the App Store to read the product description again.
It would be helpful if every app had an About button that would present the product description, summarizing the app's purpose and what differentiates it from similar apps without going into the details of how to use it.

Apple discourages the use of About or Help buttons.

Apps can only be downloaded via iTunes on your computer (and then synced to the iPad) or directly on the iPad via the App Store app - have you tried downloading it via either of those ?

App store, feature, request couldn't complete

Lately, I couldn't access feature page in app store, it says "your request could not be complete" every time I press.
I have two iTunes account, I am aware region lock would causes such error message.
I have tried loging out and logging back, switch account. Nine worked, even tried going to
iTunes.apple.com/uk/app/
It would still show the same error message

Just to say, I have the same problem. But without switching accounts.
I have the problem both on my iPad 2 and iPhone 4S.
Popup appears when buying or updating apps. Both paid and free.
The list is even getting bigger, the last time it said this and 23 other items could not be purchased at this time.
Still the apps install and backup fine and they just work. There are also still added to my purchase history.
About switching to the new iPad: I think the apps will still sync to the new iPad and the data won't be lost. But the error will still be displayed or maybe the new iPad will fix it, I will see when I get mine march 23

Blackberry Complaint / Feature Request - Please add category support for calendar Items already

RIM: It's December 2010, and thousands of people have repeatedly asked for category support for calendar items for years now. In BB OS 5 & 6 we can assign categories to Contacts and Task items, but still not Calendar items? This makes no sense to me.
Many people rely on categories to keep their calendar items organized, and I'm baffled as to why such a simple feature request has continued to be ignored. Obviously BlackBerry's DO support Outlook/Exchange category syncing, since I can see all of my custom categories through the Task and Contact apps. When I add a new category for a contact, it gets synced between Outlook/Exchange and my Blackberry. The support is there. But for a professional/business smartphone OS, I'm taken back as to how this feature could be missing from the calendar in the first place.
Rim, please give us a response--a glimmer of hope--something to let us know that you are listening to us and plan on incorporating a category feature into the calendar! If the Blackberry OS didn't support categories at all, that would be a different matter and I would understand that maybe bit more development would be necessary to support this. But the capability is obviously already built in!!!
PLEASE listen to your customers RIM and give us this commonly requested feature as soon as possible!!!

Make it easier to order world clocks, instead of the order they are added.

In Playbook we can have a single character password, why not on BB10? "too short" well it is my decision, isn't it?
There is no way to go next/previous while reading an e-mail. Please add these functions.
Add to the e-mail client, Next Unread / Previous Unread.
E-mail or Hub should have more buttons at the bottom in landscape mode. Why keep only three (or four in e-mail view) buttons when you have the real estate. It would be extremely handy if you allowed users to edit which buttons should go at the bottom. Next Previous is really needed while reading an e-mail. For example I would love to add "File" button at the bottom as a shortcut instead of forward, I rarely forward, but I file all the time. Maybe allow users to have two row of keys, add next/previous/unread. Or it could be done with a gesture. How about swiping the account name (top blue bar while reading e-mail) left and right?
When you create a new contact in BlackBerry, it gets synced to all accounts on the Hub. There is no way to limit the new contact to a specific account.
Sometimes when you file an e-mail to a folder, it stops and waits few seconds with no message. Even when it files immediately, there is a confirmation message that takes time to appear and disappear, and the folder list does not disappear automatically.
Messages filed automatically by server using server side filter rules are still showing up on Blackberry hub/inbox. In older BB versions the filtered messages did not show up in the list, filed messages still did.
When you filter your e-mails using Filter / Unread function, new unread e-mails do not show up until you close the filter and re-open. It won't just keep refreshing your screen with unread e-mails. Can BB add a button to the hub "Unread Hub" so when hub shows 8 or 2, you can actually see unread items easily without having to through so many taps.
Native BB QR scanner (Smart Tags) does not work with barcodes (it only scans with no way to use the information). There is Open In function but it doesn't work properly.
We need to add more customs search providers, and be able to add custom search strings/wildcards. For example currently there is Google, Bing, Yahoo, Foursquare, etc..
I hope BB introduces the ability include more standard & custom searches, IMDB, PriceGrabber, Ebay, Youtube, XYZ Forums, ABC Newspaper, 123 Database, Etc.. Most sites nowadays provide search string in their URL Search=?* etc...
None of the Battery apps can access system settings to add a battery icon to the top. I wish battery percentage was there.
There is no way to check carrier/mobile signal strength.
Blackberry, please add the date and carrier / SSID info to the top. Sometimes we just want to glance at the top to see the date without having to swipe.
Please bring back keyboard shortcuts. Since we can easily swipe up to bring the keyboard, just add keyboard shortcuts in e-mail, phone (true speed dialing, dialing by word?), and browser, etc.. if possible. I could always call 1800SOMETHING# now I have to look up the number or use dial pad.. Please bring it back.
Camera zoom function needs to be fixed, also please include option of fixed focus by tapping on the screen to focus. The auto focus in video is focusing in and out to various objects all the time. Stabilization feature also causes tearing/ripples, I guess it is good if you are stationary. Or use Volume Keys to Zoom.
Please allow more than 12 icons in an icon group/folder, I hated Apple for limiting apps per folder, please fix it.
Auto ON/OFF feature is not there anymore. BB should consider Auto DND (DoNotDisturb) or Auto Silent/Airplane modes instead.
Please find a way to stop the music app from automatically starting up every time it connects to bluetooth like car audio. This is very annoying.
No Panaroma mode in Camera app, why not? It is very easy to incorporate. This could be a nice addition to next release, and easy.
The text selection grips needs to be a little bigger, sometimes I cannot see where I am moving them, they work better in Playbook, nice big tabs.
Call Functions, before answering a phone add sideways gesture functions, like swiping right will forward the call, swiping left will answer with a test message, etc..
Or there should be a way to reject the call without sending it to voice mail, phones had this function a decade ago, I don't know what happened to it.
We used to be able to see the "History" without having to save the contact. Now I don't see any way to "View History" of a certain phone number, it just keeps adding
them as individual entries to the log. Now I can't see when was the last time they called me, how many times we spoke which day, etc... I loved this feature in BB5.
Where is BB Traffic? Where is BB Weather, without having to run an active frame? It will eventually disappear if you run too many apps. I liked a little Icon that shows me what the temp is, instead of running a whole app.
There is no Skype. This day and age with all other platforms having it, please either get skype (Microsoft) to cooperate, or open up BBM to other platforms. If necessary, pay Skype to develop the app, then charge BB users for the app. Most will gladly pay.
Can we tap and hold on an active frame to pin it, or can we pin two favorite apps between Call and Search & Search and Camera buttons in the bottom bar? How about Close All running Active Frames app to quickly free up ram?
I hope next generation devices have two speakers or speaker that is facing forward. When playing games or watching videos in landscape mode, I find my palm muting the speaker. I have to hold it gently with fingers to have a gap in between, something I don't want to do when I am on the subway or bus.
Blackberry Maps should have a Zoom In/Zoom Out buttons, sometimes using it with one hand, it is impossible to zoom in and out. (Zoom in is OK but we can't zoom back out)

- ability to choose deletion of an email on handset only
- desktop software working with all older BB's allowing drag and drop type of transferring data, contacts etc. (BB link doesn't recognize my old Storm)
- auto power on/off
- contacts syncing with yahoo & Outlook (almost two weeks trying to work around it and no luck)

FEATURE REQUEST: make swipe-down Notifications bar disable-able

I use the iPad as a drawing tablet every day, using Brushes, ArtRage, and other drawing apps.
It's wonderful and I am delighted to be able to do this . . . EXCEPT WHEN I DRAW A STROKE DOWN FROM THE TOP OF THE SCREEN.
The introduction of the new pull-down Notifications drawer has led to loud cursing and a strong desire to break things, for me. When one is drawing, one is not in a state in which one wishes to glance at what the next day's schedule is at. Furthermore, the active area of the pull-down also 'catches' the drawing input, so the stroke which is misdirected into the Notification dialog is lost work, and subsequent rapid stokes, up to the threshold of my reaction time, also do not register.
I must then dismiss the godforsaken irritating dialog in order to continue drawing. It is the most incredibly irritating interaction I have ever experienced on an Apple product.
Please permit the dialog to be disabled either user-globally or on a per-app basis as a user-configurable setting.

even with all notifications turned off the drawer remains active. there's no way to disable it.
while this may be a user to user forum apple people do contribute. I did file this as a feature request but wanted it to be visible and searchable.
