Feature request: Remove/hide small apps

Hi, hopefully there's some way to forward this along to the xperia android dev team! I'm sure that some people find the small apps feature useful, but I do find it to be in the way, especially since the lollipop update, where the app cards have become larger and a search bar has been added to the task switcher screen, putting vertical space at more of a premium. Also you can see the transparent menu bar car be quite useful, but is blacked out on xperia software, I've added a comparison with normal lollipop software in the left. So an option to disable the small apps feature would make this page a lot more useful, I would hope it will be included in a future update.

Feature Request: Remove "No calendar entries today...

Hi,
I have an e66 and I typically have only 1 or 2 calendar entries each week... so most days I have "No calendar entries today" on the home screen. It annoys me that my calendar is telling me to remember that there's nothing to remember today... it's like the alarm going off every morning telling me I don't need to get up early. It could tell me the same thing with less hassle by saying nothing at all. I also find that by having something there all the time, it means that when I _do_ have something to remember, it doesn't stand out like it should - ",,,Something,,," stands out more than "Nothing,Nothing,Nothing,Something,Nothing,Nothing,Nothing"
I worked around it on my old phone (6280) by adding a calendar entry for the next 20 years with just a space in it (so all you get on the home screen is a calendar icon) but this new phone is too smart and I get "Unnamed" if I try to use a space (or newline, or any pure whitespace combination I've tried).I've ended up using "To do:" which is, if nothing else, short.
So I hereby request, either by default or as an option, for the calendar to only display something on the homescreen if there actually _is_ a calendar entry.. if there's no calendar entry to display, then _don't display anything_.

To all friends who see " no calendar entries today' in the home screen of Nokia E63:
I have got the problem before as I have made few entries on the {to do} list but when the date comes, there is no calendar entries today! Just like alarm clock set but no alarm. I have made net checking/searches, quite a few people put this up in the net but seems no definite solution. I have 'asked nokia' and the suggestion was " to reinsert the battery and sims card while no switch off the mobile, reboot the mobile in 1-2 minutes, if still not working, then reset the factory setting."
Done this, no luck. There is no solution in the menu nor else where!
Some how I remember i have 'seen' entry in the calender entries today by trial and error. Luck came it appeared. It looks like the entries only appear in "meeting' entry not 'to do list' entry.
OK friend, try to make new entry for today as meeting, and another entry on to do list on the same date and see see..

How can I hide certain apps and also prevent apps to be deleted without my permission?

I have a young daughter that watches movies and plays games on my itouch. I love that she enjoys it, but sometimes while using it, she goes to apps that are not appropriate for her, and also she accidentally deletes apps. Is there some kind of parental control...or just any feature that can hide the apps I don't want her to go on...and also something I can do to prevent her from accidentally deleting apps? Thanks!

You can turn restrictions on that keep her from deleting apps. As for hiding apps, I don't know if that's possible. You could hide the apps in a folder wouldn't have interest in such as a news or utilities folder if she's playing games and watching movies. Hope this helps.

One Small Feature Request

Well, I got the Add-In installed and working. Looks pretty good. One small feature request I have, that I have become accustom to doing from another tool that I use is that when editing a package, in the Oracle Explorer window, when you expand the Packages node, then expand the package you are working on, it shows a list of procedures and functions in that package. This is great. Now what would be really great is that if you could double click on one of these procedures or functions it would take you to that place in the code of the package body.
So for example, let's say I have a package called Pkg_DoStuff. Pkg_DoStuff has three procedures, Foo1, Foo2, and Foo3. When I expand Pkg_DoStuff in the Oracle Explorer windows, I see nodes for Foo1, Foo2, and Foo3. Now, if I double click on Foo3, I would like the code window to place the cursor at the start of the Foo3 procedure in the package body.

Another feature request:
Please add a Raptor feature to the Data Connections and allow users to apply filters to tree browsing. We use Oracle Apps 11i, and there must be about 50 thousand tables, views and packages that can potentially be visible. It usually takes several minutes for the Data Connections tree to respond when I bring up a list of tables even for a login with limited access. However, with the filter applied in raptor, I can browse very quickly to tables, views and packages that I need.

A feature request for iOS app developers...

Guys and Gals,
I have a feature request which I think will benefit iOS app developers as much as it would benefit your customers.
Any customer that has more than a handful of apps will eventually forget what some of those apps do or what makes them unique. For instance, I had not used the wonderful hotel finder, Oyster, in over a year. I not only forgot I had it, I also forgot how Oyster's service was different than other hotel finders. I had to refamiliarize myself with the app. Sometimes, this requires returning to the App Store to read the product description again.
It would be helpful if every app had an About button that would present the product description, summarizing the app's purpose and what differentiates it from similar apps without going into the details of how to use it.

Apple discourages the use of About or Help buttons.
Send feedback to Apple because this is the wrong place to ask; we are all just users like you.

Feature Request: Uninstall App

I don't see a way to uninstall a recently installed app, does this mean we just drag-n-drop?
I'm making a feature request for the ability to uninstall, or an explanation of how to uninstall otherwise.

f you want to report this issue to Apple's engineering, send a bug report or an enhancement request via its Bug Reporter system. To do this, join the Mac Developer Program—it's free and available for all Mac users and gets you a look at some development software. Since you already have an Apple username/ID, use that. Once a member, go to Apple BugReporter and file your bug report or enhancement request. The nice thing with this procedure is that you get a response and a follow-up number; thus, starting a dialog with engineering.

Feature Request: Allow Apps to Access Apple ID User Address

This is a feature request for new iOS functionality
If iOS gave permission for apps to access the home or billing address a user has defined when setting up their Apple ID, then I believe the app can use this address to automatically set up the shipping of a purchased item for example. This would enable apps to sell physical goods, paid for by the user's Apple ID and set up for shipping to his Apple ID address, instantly.
I believe couriers already have SDKs that allow apps to programatically register the pickup and shipment of an item.
Users can then be able to manage their addresses in iOS/iCloud.

This will never happen because of the obvious security implications.

Screen recording small app requested

The Screen Recording toolbar in Android 4.4.4 is really helpful, but I would like to access it through the small apps bar. For instance, it is much easier to start the Screen shot function from the small app than through the power on/off button.
In the same way, I request a small app to access the floating Screen Recorder toolbar, instead of through the Power on/off button.
For the programmer who knows how to make a small app, that should be fairly simple.

Feature Request: Setting App page title to something other than "Eloqua 10"

Hello everyone,
Long-time lurker, first-time poster. As someone who has been using Eloqua for over 3 years, when working in the application, I will usually end up with upwards of half-a-dozen tabs open in Firefox, all of which say "Eloqua 10". Because of this, I'll usually try to strategically organize my tabs, but often times I end up having to click through multiple tabs to find the one I'm looking for, which can sometimes lead to Firefox freezing. I'm sure I'm not alone in this.
So to alleviate this, I'd like to make the following feature request: Can we have the tabs/windows named by Asset Type & Asset Name? Perhaps in the following Format:
[Asset Type]: [Asset Name] - Eloqua 10
Note how I have "Eloqua 10" at the end of the string. An example of a title would be: "Campaigns: Nurture_Campaign_1 - Eloqua 10"
Could this please be implemented?

Make it easier to order world clocks, instead of the order they are added.

In Playbook we can have a single character password, why not on BB10? "too short" well it is my decision, isn't it?
There is no way to go next/previous while reading an e-mail. Please add these functions.
Add to the e-mail client, Next Unread / Previous Unread.
E-mail or Hub should have more buttons at the bottom in landscape mode. Why keep only three (or four in e-mail view) buttons when you have the real estate. It would be extremely handy if you allowed users to edit which buttons should go at the bottom. Next Previous is really needed while reading an e-mail. For example I would love to add "File" button at the bottom as a shortcut instead of forward, I rarely forward, but I file all the time. Maybe allow users to have two row of keys, add next/previous/unread. Or it could be done with a gesture. How about swiping the account name (top blue bar while reading e-mail) left and right?
When you create a new contact in BlackBerry, it gets synced to all accounts on the Hub. There is no way to limit the new contact to a specific account.
Sometimes when you file an e-mail to a folder, it stops and waits few seconds with no message. Even when it files immediately, there is a confirmation message that takes time to appear and disappear, and the folder list does not disappear automatically.
Messages filed automatically by server using server side filter rules are still showing up on Blackberry hub/inbox. In older BB versions the filtered messages did not show up in the list, filed messages still did.
When you filter your e-mails using Filter / Unread function, new unread e-mails do not show up until you close the filter and re-open. It won't just keep refreshing your screen with unread e-mails. Can BB add a button to the hub "Unread Hub" so when hub shows 8 or 2, you can actually see unread items easily without having to through so many taps.
Native BB QR scanner (Smart Tags) does not work with barcodes (it only scans with no way to use the information). There is Open In function but it doesn't work properly.
We need to add more customs search providers, and be able to add custom search strings/wildcards. For example currently there is Google, Bing, Yahoo, Foursquare, etc..
I hope BB introduces the ability include more standard & custom searches, IMDB, PriceGrabber, Ebay, Youtube, XYZ Forums, ABC Newspaper, 123 Database, Etc.. Most sites nowadays provide search string in their URL Search=?* etc...
None of the Battery apps can access system settings to add a battery icon to the top. I wish battery percentage was there.
There is no way to check carrier/mobile signal strength.
Blackberry, please add the date and carrier / SSID info to the top. Sometimes we just want to glance at the top to see the date without having to swipe.
Please bring back keyboard shortcuts. Since we can easily swipe up to bring the keyboard, just add keyboard shortcuts in e-mail, phone (true speed dialing, dialing by word?), and browser, etc.. if possible. I could always call 1800SOMETHING# now I have to look up the number or use dial pad.. Please bring it back.
Camera zoom function needs to be fixed, also please include option of fixed focus by tapping on the screen to focus. The auto focus in video is focusing in and out to various objects all the time. Stabilization feature also causes tearing/ripples, I guess it is good if you are stationary. Or use Volume Keys to Zoom.
Please allow more than 12 icons in an icon group/folder, I hated Apple for limiting apps per folder, please fix it.
Auto ON/OFF feature is not there anymore. BB should consider Auto DND (DoNotDisturb) or Auto Silent/Airplane modes instead.
Please find a way to stop the music app from automatically starting up every time it connects to bluetooth like car audio. This is very annoying.
No Panaroma mode in Camera app, why not? It is very easy to incorporate. This could be a nice addition to next release, and easy.
The text selection grips needs to be a little bigger, sometimes I cannot see where I am moving them, they work better in Playbook, nice big tabs.
Call Functions, before answering a phone add sideways gesture functions, like swiping right will forward the call, swiping left will answer with a test message, etc..
Or there should be a way to reject the call without sending it to voice mail, phones had this function a decade ago, I don't know what happened to it.
We used to be able to see the "History" without having to save the contact. Now I don't see any way to "View History" of a certain phone number, it just keeps adding
them as individual entries to the log. Now I can't see when was the last time they called me, how many times we spoke which day, etc... I loved this feature in BB5.
Where is BB Traffic? Where is BB Weather, without having to run an active frame? It will eventually disappear if you run too many apps. I liked a little Icon that shows me what the temp is, instead of running a whole app.
There is no Skype. This day and age with all other platforms having it, please either get skype (Microsoft) to cooperate, or open up BBM to other platforms. If necessary, pay Skype to develop the app, then charge BB users for the app. Most will gladly pay.
Can we tap and hold on an active frame to pin it, or can we pin two favorite apps between Call and Search & Search and Camera buttons in the bottom bar? How about Close All running Active Frames app to quickly free up ram?
I hope next generation devices have two speakers or speaker that is facing forward. When playing games or watching videos in landscape mode, I find my palm muting the speaker. I have to hold it gently with fingers to have a gap in between, something I don't want to do when I am on the subway or bus.
Blackberry Maps should have a Zoom In/Zoom Out buttons, sometimes using it with one hand, it is impossible to zoom in and out. (Zoom in is OK but we can't zoom back out)

- ability to choose deletion of an email on handset only
- desktop software working with all older BB's allowing drag and drop type of transferring data, contacts etc. (BB link doesn't recognize my old Storm)

Feature Request: Destructive editing with AUs in Sample Editor

I would like to be able to apply edits destructively in the sample edit window with Audio Units like we could in Logic on MacOS9 (which used AudioSuite plugins). This is an ongoing request, year after year, among veteran Logic users. In every update it is ignored. The feature requires no redesign of the sample edit window, just another menu sub item droplist. While the bounce in place feature is a welcome addition, it is not a replacement for this feature that was removed in the migration to MacOSX and has been sorely missed ever since.
Here's just one recent sentiment from a user on the NYC Logic Users Group:
"I recently changed over to Logic from Pro Tools and I really miss this feature! For handling plosives and de-essing small fragments."
I also know a very prominent producer who boycotted Logic 8 and 9 for this reason alone. While I would never do that (since I happen to love all the new features and feel comfortable with the workflow of Logic 9), I sympathize with this person's frustration over the lack of this feature. I find myself constantly in the position of wishing I had destructive editing back in my Logic tool belt.

With all due respect, I personally cannot stand soundtrack. A lot of effort was put into the app that should have gone into Logic. As you allude to, I can trigger that Logic keystroke to open any sample editor, which is what I do. I just want the functionality back that was taken away from us many moons ago. I'm not looking for workarounds. This is just a simple feature request. But thank you for the suggestion.

Feature requests

I'd like to submit some feature requests and complaints I've had with both the desktop and mobile apps.
1. Larger "add to queue" buttons for mobile- I always end up accidentally playing the track when I try to add it to the queue. This is extremely annoying because it stops the current song, and there is no way to easily go back to it.
2. Ability to jump to alphabetized artist in "your music" by typing the letters of their name like on iTunes, or some filter/search method. I have lots of artists and songs in that section, and it's incredibly annoying to have to spend so much time scrolling just to get to "z"
3. Always go back to specific location in scroll when hit "back" button.
4. Easy ability to remove item from playlist from "current song" screen as it's playing on mobile (and just in general, I couldn't figure out how to remove a song from playlist on mobile)
5. Ability to make each artist in your music as a small, narrow list element for ease of jumping around (both desktop and mobile)
6. Side alphabetical thing that you can tap to jump to a letter as in iPod music
7. Easy explicit versions of tracks. Sometimes a track will even say it's explicit but will be edited to have cuss words removed. This is ridiculous

Feature Request: Custom uninstaller which executes actionscript function on uninstall

My name is Ronald Kamp and I'm an IT Consultant at iDA MediaFoundry Belgium.
I would like to request a feature. At the moment I have an application that writes a file to the app-storage of my application, to the user's documents and settings folder and one value to the Encrypted Local Store. On uninstall, I would like to remove all of these files so that all links to the application are removed.
Would it be possible to add a feature to the AIR SDK that will execute a certain piece of actionscript so that all of these files are removed? Of course, it would be possible to create an installer with InstallAnywhere but then we would lose all of the checks that are performed with the standard AIR installer and uninstaller.

Thank you for the feature request feedback. I agree, having this functionality would be great. If you get a chance, I'd like to recommend voting for both of these ideas:
Custom hook on AIR application uninstall
Deleting local data store while unistall
You might also be able to work around this now by creating a native installer and having it sub launch your AIR installer. More details about this can be found on our redistribution instructions, and you can sign up for the licensing needed on our runtime distribution page.
