Feature Request:  Third video output for script

It would be nice if VC allowed not only full screen output of the master video, but full screen outupt of the teleprompter while still maintaining control.
This would let somone be the talent, and someone be the director.  If you run the teleprompter inf ull screen mode, it takes away the Director's screen.
It would mean a lot of memory and three video cards.
Other features: Ability to do more on the fly - such as run videos, sound, etc with hot keys, Video banks, etc. There are programs meant for church multi media that can do this (but can't chroma key, save video files, etc)

Great suggestion, I'll check 'em out.  It also seems likely that somebody manufactures a FireWire-powered device that could do the job.  I thought my old ADS PyroAV might work (Standard Def only, of course), but it only outputs a still picture of wherever Final Cut Pro's playhead was last parked.  Crystal-clear video, but it essentially frame-stores and displays whatever still image it last "saw".  Weird, huh?

  • Feature request: Slideshow module support for video files

I'm very excited about your MTS support!
Feature request: Slide show module  support for video files...
Say you have 10 takes to choose from. Are you able to almost like SLIDESHOW view the 10 clips full screen so you can decide, like a playlist? Or rate them as they play? It would also be great, like SLIDESHOW to be able to export a MP4 with a title, the 10 clips you are working with, and maybe add an end title and a song, just like SLIDESHOW.
I have found editing stills like this in slideshow far faster than in any other editing program.
Basically, I just need a fast means to view or export an MP4 of a set of video clips to review. You are almost there.
    great job!!!
    Max

I was also disappointed that video is not supported in the slideshow module -I currently have to use another solution when I want stills mixed with videos, would be great to be ablo to keep it all in LR!

  • Video Output for Musical on new Macbook Air

Doing first production of a musical.
I'm thinking of buying Logic Pro 9 to control the output of recorded audio and video for the show (as well as to compose a few extra pieces).
The features page on the Apple site says: Logic can let you view synchronized QuickTime movies on a separate monitor using output options like Digital Cinema Desktop.
    http://www.apple.com/logicpro/top-features/
The Tech Specs page on the Apple site says: External video output via FireWire or DVCPRO HD.
    http://www.apple.com/se/logicpro/specs/
I've bought a brand spanking new Macbook Air which has a Thunderbolt and two USB ports.
Would I be able to use Logic on my Macbook Air to output my video?  (I was thinking I would do it to a projector either through WiFi or a (yellow) composite cable.)
(The alternative I was thinking of was to use MuseScore to enter the notation for the extra pieces.  Garageband for the audio output (it's missing a few instruments [e.g. clarinet, xylophone]) and plain old Quicktime for the video output.
    Thanks!

  • Gatos - how to enable s-video output for ATI

i need to make s-video work on my laptop (want to connect laptop to big screen to present things - unfortunately this screen has no VGA but s-video)
in [extra] there is atitvout that should do this and also do so on my old computer (ATI mach64 chipset)
atitvout does not work on my thinkpad a31p - it does not recognize the card correctly and fails. for x.org i use the radeon driver and this works fine. it's a ATI FireGL 7800 that works fine with the "RV200" driver. but "radeon" does not have s-video output as far i know - no options how to enable s-video-out
after a long search on the internet, reading that most users that have my laptop never tried to make s-video work, i found GATOS:
    under:
    http://gatos.sourceforge.net/theater_out.php
there is a module that, if i understand it correctly, should make s-video work
    what i don't know:
    - how do you build this driver?
    - how do you use it?
(anyone able to make a pkg work with newest xorg?)
nowhere documented is how to use it with xorg >6.8.0
    anyone can help me?

atitvout just works with the vesa driver ...
and try the option "atitvout -f t" (and remember to put the tv connected before booting)
but the gatos drivers would be much better

  • Video Output for PXI Embedded Real-Time Controller ?

I plan to purchase a PXI Embedded Real-Time Controller for security monitoring.
Is it possible to use the video output of a PXI Controller running RTOS to display messages from a LabVIEW RT application ? According to the documentation, it seems that the use of the video output is only possible for PXI Controllers running Windows XP.
Does it exist a specific application to do this with LabVIEW RT ?
    Thanx.
    H.L.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi Yann,
The situation seems a bit confusing as in the link you've given above using the local monitor from a pxi labview rt system as the HMI without a pc attached, two messages (here and here) say that it is possible to display an image on the video output of a PXI RT controller using a function of the NI-IMAQ librarey (namely, the IMAQ RT Video Out VI) !
I have the NI-IMAQ library but no PXI controller to test if this solution should work or not
Does anyone have the answer ?
    Thanx,

  • Feature Request: use volume rocker for brightness

I find myself wishing I could adjust the screen brightness quickly using the rocker switch currently dedicated to volume. I seldom have need to adjust the volume, and if I did, it would also be helpful is that function could just be part of the open app, leaving the rocker switch to quickly adjust to changing light settings. (the auto brightness basically seems to have two settings: regular and slightly dimmer than regular)

Welcome to the forums, Tyrade. One of the first things to know is that we're all users here, just like yourself. While you may have a well-thought out feature request, posting it here goes nowhere.

  • Cheapest video output for monitoring

    Hi
I currently have my final cut pro setup to output via firewire through my panasonic video camera and to my monitor.
I've decided its time to liberate the camera, and perhaps get something dedicated for conversion.
I don't need much, I'm not editing for broadcast or anything - just viewing dv through firewire mostly.
Is a canopus 110 the cheapest simplest way to go, or is there something else I haven't heard of?
    Cheers,
    Chris

Chris, there will always be something 'cheaper', perhaps something from Pyro, or you could undoubtedly find a no name brand that may even be the same product without the badge ... however, I would vouch for the Canopus ADVC110 as a robust device with a deserved reputaion for quality.
    Cheers

  • Feature Request - CSS code generation for advanced font - type options

Thanks to everyone for the amazing work done in Photoshop and Illustrator to enhance the ability to generate and use character and paragraph styles translated to CSS. The last two releases have brought designers something they could only dream of and talk about for the last decade, and now these tools are being delivered!
This request is to consider being able to use advanced character styles in Illustrator, such as X/Y percentage height/width of fonts, rotation or baseline shift to generate CSS for these options. As of this post, I haven't been able to find that CSS3 even supports these options, except possibly the 'font-stretch' rule, which does not appear to be supported yet in most browsers - see CSS Fonts Module Level 3 - W3C Candidate Recommendation, October 2013.
Sometimes, designers get very picky about wanting type to look just so, including making fonts look taller or wider in a design, although perhaps much to the horror of the original type designer
    thanks very much,
    Mark

I'll also add this is a feature that should be carried over into Adobe Photoshop too.
Within Adobe Photoshop if you want to size type in terms of pixels the type is, again, sized according to the Em square. Unless you're setting type at pretty large pixel sizes the rendered type really ends up looking pretty bad. That's because the edge of the baseline and the edge of the cap height line are never aligned to the pixel grid. You end up with type that's fuzzy looking on all sides. If designers were able to tell Photoshop "make this lettering 20 pixels tall according to the capital letters" the lettering would looking a whole lot better. Perfectly crisp edges on the base lines and cap height lines.

  • Feature request: Allow direct connections for contacts only

Hello, on Windows there is an option "Allow direct connections to contacts only" as described on http://en.kioskea.net/faq/32357-skype-hide-your-ip-from-people-who-are-not-on-your-contact-list. Many people including myself would like to see this feature implemented in the Linux client. There are solutions to protect the IP from resolvers like setting up proxies. However, the performance of free SOCKS-proxies is mostly very bad. VPNs with an appropriate bandwidth also cost an amount of money and additionally, it is difficult to only route Skype traffic through a VPN. Setting up a VM with Windows or WINE just to run Skype is an overkill as well. I consider it inconvenient that this feature is implemented on Windows while - in my opinion - mainly Linux users being aware of security might be in need for this feature. Therefore, I request to implement such a functionality into the Linux client. Kind regards from Germany

If  you want to enable that feature on a Skype client that does not offer it in the GUI you would have to do it manually.  You can follow the guidance here and the same information applies to the Linux client and any other client you have root or file-level access to. http://community.skype.com/t5/Modern-Windows-from-Windows/Windows-8-IP-Hiding/m-p/2876437/highlight/true#M19476 Linux path:/home/Username/.Skype/YourSkypeName/config.xml

  • Enhancing size of video output for ATV 2

I've got a Mittsubishi Unisen TV (HDTV 1080p) and everything it receives is automatically adjusted for the correct screen size. But with my Apple TV 2nd generation I just bought, it has black bars on the top and sides on all screens (even menu, Netflix, etc.), so everything's only 2/3 as big as it could be.
Any advice on how to fix this? I know there aren't any screen resolution settings in ATV2 and my TV doesn't have any either, so I'm really stuck here and don't want to watch things in 2/3 size.
    Thanks!

This sounds like a setting on your TV. The Apple TV outputs as 720p. As your TV's maximum resolution is 1080 it is probably displaying as actual resolution than upscaling to 1080p. Check your TV's settings.

  • Firewire DV video output for DVD player?

    Hi everyone,
I am just wondering, does anyone know of any way to get the DVD player program to output NTSC DV via firewire like FCP allows for external monitors?
I would love a way to test my dvds without having to waste so many discs... Any suggestions?
    -patrick

What is outputting DVD Player's signal to external monitor going to achieve?
The failure of DVDs burned is due either to the media used (the quality of DVD), the bit-rate settings used or more generally, the DVDSP workflow (you are burning via DVDSP and/or Compressor aren't you?) or the DVD player that the discs are being played on. (Different models cope with different variables, bit rates , brand of DVD used, how old the player is, whether the lens has been cleaned last - if at all...)
If it's a DVD burning issue, describe your workflow and post in the the relevant forum.
P.S. If I've misunderstood the question, please ignore the above...

  • To devs - feature request: finer channel output control

dunno how easy it would be to implement such a thing but it would be awesome if channel output was a little more flexible
using ffdshow I downmix multitrack audio to pretty much whatever, and I use 4 channels (L,C,R,LFE) which sound waaay better than stereo
5.'s only an option for me when i'm sat directly in front of my pc, which i can't be arsed to do most of the time
being able to to do something similar with games would be pretty cool, and a nice little niche feature

I would use the OS X feedback page.

There is no hack to do this.

  • Feature request: inline video element

An inline video element (similar to the inlineGraphicElement) would be a tremendous enhancement to the already impressive text engine.
I know that it is late in the game but would such feature be an option in the near future?
Imagine a text document with a image clickable which loads a video in this place. This could become the next generation of reading news online with the video integrated right into the article.
    Thanks.

ILGs as videos works today.  The source (or graphic property) of an ILG can refer to any swf.  If its a swf made from a video (or one with a timeline) it starts playing right away.  To have controls you'd need to roll your own.

  • Feature request - use same colors for joined tables

I brought two datasets into Power Map. Both have a shared segmentation dimension (joined in Power Pivot). Power Map doesn't pay attention to the fact that the tables are joined and does not use the same series colors.  I have to manually adjust all
