Feature suggestion: add page flipping transition, text highlighting, notes, and translation

I'm using Adobe Reader on Android.
Similar to Google Play Books app, I'd like to suggest the following features:
1. Page flipping effect or transition.
2. Selection or highlighting of text in different colors
3. Notes taking support
4. Translation of selected text Ina similar fashion to Play Books app.
5. Syncing of reading across devices.

1. We have this added this request to our feature backlog. We might incorporate it in one of our future releases.
2. You can change the color of the highlight added to a document. Once you highlight some text, tap on it to bring a context menu with options as Color, Opacity and Clear. Select 'Color' and choose the highlight color. Please note that any new highlight made after this will appear in this color as well.
3. You can add notes to a document. From the top toolbar, select the commenting icon. The commenting toolbar will appear. The first icon from the left on this toolbar is the Sticky Note icon. You can enter text in this note and can edit it later as well.
4. We have added this request to our future backlog as well.
5. What exactly do you mean by 'Syncing of reading' across devices? Do you want the application to remember the last viewed page number? Please note that this functionality is provided for all documents in Acrobat.com. If you want to access this functionality, please make an Acrobat.com account, upload the file you want to read. The file will be visible across devices and the last viewed page will be remembered.

Why no book-style page-flip transitions for Reader yet???

Does anyone else find it odd that adobe has yet to include in its new versions a book style mode where you can flip facing pages back and forth like a book???? I know I'm not the only person using Reader as my primary pdf ebook reading software. Is this because adobe considers Reader primarily as software for documents, and not ebooks? You'd think Adobe would get wise and make a standalone application specifically for reading pdf ebooks, before Apple or Goodreader outdoes them at their own game. Oh wait, they already have. The only thing they're missing is interactive media capability.

No, pdfs are not ebooks, but a hell of a lot of ebooks are pdfs. I don't see the merit in saying that hardware Reader is intended for couldn't handle the processing required to implement a page-flip. If they really wanted to do it, they could. There are a number of programs now that ebooks in pdf format can be read on, that offer page-flip, search, annotation, highlighting, etc.. These programs do not handle the pdfs as Reader does, but in many ways they're more friendly to use than Reader, as they don't impose a window around the book with menus, toolbars etc., and give the reader more the feel of a book.

"Page Flip" transition for slideshow widget

Anyone know if there will be a "page flip" transition for slideshow widget in a future release of Adobe Muse? I'm trying to build a small magazine in Muse and a page flip transition would really help.

How to change font size & color of text inside note and callout annotation using code ?

Hi,
I want to set different font size & color for the text inside note and callout annotations. And for this, I am setting properties using the DS attribute while creating annotations (see below code).

But this doesn't work when I just wrire text after creating annotation.
And suprisingly it works fine when I click first outside of the annotaion and then double click to write text inside annoatation.
Is this bug of Adobe ? if not then please let me know the fix.

Why when you zoom in on my web page does the text size not increase but the pictures do?

I've uploaded my website and noticed on different computers (and browsers) that the page does not display as it does in my iweb.
Firstly if you zoom in (i.e. make it bigger) only the pictures increase in size, the text stays the same, simillarly when you zoom out the pictures get small but the text squashes up and moves everything around.
Secondly, the little house that I made sometimes gets a black rectagular box behind it when you do the zooming thing.
Thirdly does anyone know how to add drop downs from the main tabs, just to make it easier to nav?

Add date to new text file name and generic text in body

Okay, I hope this is the right forum. To help manage and keep track of incoming assets/files and I created an Automator workflow with the following: "Get Selected Finder Items → Get Folder Contents → New Text File (w/Show this action when the workflow runs so I can give a unique name).
This creates a text file with the folder contents listed in the body.
I would like to know if I can do two things:
1. Automatically add a date/time stamp to the Save as field so it will automatically have a unique file name?
2. I also want to add text before the listed contents within the text file. (e.g.: Let's say the folder contents are Volumes/Mac HD/Generic_movie.mov. I want the final text to read:
"The following file has been moved to the local volume at: Volumes/Mac HD/Generic_movie.mov"
Is there a way to accomplish either one or both of these with Automator or AppleScripts?

*4) Rename Finder Items:*
Choose *Add Date or Time* from the popup
Date/Time: select Created, Modified, or Current - Format: *Month Day Year*
Where: *After name* - Separator: *Forward Slash*
Separator: Space - check *Use Leading Zeros* (optional)
*5) Rename Finder Items:*
Choose *Add Text* from the popup
Add: *" at"* -- put a leading space before "at" (without the quotes), and select *after name*.
*6) Rename Finder Items:*
Choose *Add Date or Time*
Date/Time: Current - Format: *Hour Minute Second*
Where: *After name* - Separator: Dash
Separator: Space - check *Use Leading Zeros* (strongly recommended)

Save the workflow as an application and use it as a droplet. Drop a desired folder onto the saved applet and enter a name when the dialog appears. The new text file, which will be found in the destination folder, should be appended with a date and time stamp, e.g., *"My Folder List 7/8/2010 at 23-54-09"*

Can I print on both sides with portrait pages flipped on the long edge and landscape on short edge?

I have a document with some portrait oriented pages and some landscape (charts). When you print the document, it is natural to flip the landscape pages up to look at the charts, but then the ones on the top are upside down. Is there a way to print this way?

View> Tools> Pages> Rotate.
Rotate the charts so the top is facing left.

At bottom of the page Report section Text is not adjusting.

About highlights, notes and comments iOS 6

How do I find my highlights and comments in the iOS app? I have looked everywhere it does not seem to support this functionality. How am I supposed to review highlights and notes in a over 3000 pages textbooks?

I think you're going to have major problems reviewing documents of that size on iOS devices. I don't think that Adobe Reader for iOS is robust enough, and the hardware could be a limitation as well for large file sizes.
Comments and highlights already made should be visible when viewed on Adobe Reader.

I ran into similar problems and took this as my motivation to develop "AnyFont". With this little app you are able to install all the fonts you need for your documents on your iPhone or iPad. So when your need Tahoma on your iPad you can use AnyFont to install it right away.

Please change text highlight behavior

The highlight behavior was changed from InDesign CS6 to InDesign CC wherein it previously "inverted" the text and background. So if the text was black on white, it became white on black. Further, what was behind the text was treated the same way. So if there was black text on top of a blue image, the text became white while the image became orange.
This behavior worked and accounted for ANY combination of text and background.
The new behavior is that the text is highlighted using your operating systems highlight color. The default color for OS X is a light blue.
Thus if you have light grey or light blue text, it disappears into the highlight block. Even white text, which is very common in magazine and brochure design, becomes extremely hard to read.
But the larger problem is created when working on a background. Whereas the background was previously inverted, it is now entirely covered. You can't see it anymore.
I constantly have to do designs based on previous versions/designs. In some cases, a design was created in illustrator or photoshop and I have to recreate it in InDesign. This used to be pretty simple. I'd pull the old design in as a placed object, set it's opacity to 50% and put it on a locked layer. Then I'd rebuild it in InDesign. But with the text highlight behavior, this becomes virtually impossible. As soon as you select the text that you need to adjust to match the background, the background itself becomes invisible—covered up by a light blue highlight.
I've included two images here to demonstrate the problem created by the new behavior.
So my feature request is simple: Revert the text highlight behavior.

I can't agreee more! We just updated all of our Production Macs to CC here and do much of the same work to client files when all we have is a reference PDF. We have to be able to re-set type to match exactly their previous designs and not being able to see that underlying PDF is a horrible drawback. There must be a way to make that highlight color transparent, even if it's a Preference to be changed.
I will say the only passable way I've found so far, and it's far from ideal, is to place the original PDF, make sure Transaprent Background is selected and put it on a Layer above the new text items. Some caveats are, if there's anything in that PDF that obscures the new text frames it can be problematic, and you have to Lock that PDF layer or selecting items can be infuriating as well. NOT a solution, just a workaround at best.

IBooks upgrade erased notes and highlights

I upgraded the iBooks app on my 3rd gen iPad today. Now iBooks no longer remembers where I left off reading any of my books, plus it has lost all my highlights, notes and bookmarks. How can I get those back?

Ah, fixed it finally -- iBooks just got confused. I have been backing up and syncing things with iCloud so when I deleted the book from my iPad and then downloaded it again -- all the bookmarks and highlights were back!

How do i use the text highlighter on web pages

I want to highlight some small print on a banking web page to email. The print is too small and will be missed if not highlighted. I have installed the text highlight add on in my tool bar but don't know how to use it.

There are a few addons with that name, but I would also take a look at the description on its addons.mozilla.org page if you still have it.

Acrobat text highlight feature

It was suggested to me that using Acrobat Pro you would be able to select a paragraph which is then enlarged, the other text is dimmed and the enlarged section can then be highlighted. I believe some other software or flash programming would be required. Can anyone confirm? Thank you.

Thank you - that's what I assumed but had a user insisting that it was a feature of the Pro version.
