Features in ECC6 - MM

What are all the special features available in ECC 6 than in 4.7 in MM module for purchasing.
Is there any value added reports available on controlling spends in MM.

Hi,
In ECC6.0 all the enjoy sap transctions become more usable as the corresponding older transaction are obselete..
For Eg: ME21N will be used insteead of ME21...etc.
Hence for doing a BDC(not suggested for enjoy transctions) or call transaction we have to use the new enjoy trannsactions...

So, you want the features of ECC6 in 4.6c? That's quite interesting! You have not however mentioned few sample features. Perhaps you should talk to SAP for this.

Differences between ECC 6.0, 4.7 and 4.6

I want to know about the additional features of ECC6.0 when compared with teh older versions...Where can i find the related documentation...Dont say that it is in the release notes...as i have seen many new transactions which are not documeted in the release notes for the differences between 6.0 and 4.6...And, i dont see 4.7 as an option in the release notes...Any ideas....I will award maximum points for the perfect answer(s).

Physical inventory 4.6c & Ecc 6.0(urgent)

Hi all
We are in to 4.6 c and planned to move to Ecc 6.0 in few months. I have a situation like to do the physical inventory of the warehouse but my thoughts would be to do it after the upgrade as we'll have additional features in ECC6.0 for counting.
Do anybody know how ECC 6.0 helps than 4.6C,what will be the advantages to justify it.
please drop whatever suggestions u have, iam sure that will help a lot or direct me to proper docs plz.

are you talking about IM or WM inventory ?
If I remember correctly WM Dynamic Cycle Count (DCC) was introduced from version 4.7 and, as Sap states
"DCC enhances the previous inventory counting functionality by enabling you to count physical inventory at storage bin and quant level during the performance of normal warehouse operations, and allowing the creation of inventory documents when open transfer orders (unconfirmed picks and putaways) exist for a bin. This ensures continued warehouse operations and facilitates cycle counts during peak activity periods".

SAP 4.x and ECC 6.x Release

I was using SAP 4.7 release till now.
Now i am using ECC 6.0 Release (ERP Central Component Release).
I would like to know what are the differences in these two reelases...????

below are some of the good features in ECC6.0
1- Your ABAP code can be unicode enable,so that you can use your code in all the versions
2-You have a two kind of break point option in ECC6.0.
3-You have a enhanced debugging screen.
ECC->enterprise central component.ECC 6.0 is the advanced version.if we consider in technical point of view then i can give u one example.
In the new version we have enhancement points and enhancement sections along with enhancemnts and BADI'S.SAP has provided these ,so that without going for access keys we can write our code in the enhancement points along with Standard SAP code.So now SAP has provided more user friendly environment.Also a new DEBUGGER also arrived with the new version.Now we can see more things in the new er version of DEBUGGER.
From the ABAP perspective, few differences are.
The WS_* function modules used in 4.6c has become obsolete from 4.7C. All the WS_* FMs have been replaced by GUI_* FMs.
(ii) Concept of Unicode is introduced.
(iii) Few tables have been modified in ECC6.0.
Tables TVARV & TTREX have been replaced by TVARVC & TTREXN respectively.
(iv) we have enhancement points and enhancement sections along with enhancemnts and BADI'S . and we can write the part of code in those points.

Differences bet vesion 4.6 c and 6.0ecc version

can any body give the differences between 4.6c version and 6.0ecc version.

-> Passwords are CASE SENSITIVE in ECC 6.0 which is NON CASE SENSITIVE in 4.6c
-> there is Enhancement category for Databse Tables in ECC 6.0 which is not there in 4.6 C
-> There is new Debugger with more features in ECC6 compared to 4.6c

DataSource for FAGLFLEXT and BSEG, or New Table in ECC6?

need to create an extractor to have all the information of FAGLFLEXT, because we need to keep the ledger information and the split of the information. However, we need to add 13 fields contained in BSEG.
Therefore we thought to reads the line items table FAGLFLEXA, and then enhace it throught BSEG table.
However, since we are using ECC6 and BI7. It is not support the creation of DataSources for FAGLFLEXA throught FAGLBW03.
Is it an option to incorporate all fields into FAGLFLEXT.
Can we creat a new table group based on FAGLFLEXT, and then adding the coding block extensions to that table -
how does new g/l and the new table group work in parallel? Which is the procedure to do it?
Documentation says we can create a new table group based on FAGLFLEXT --- its the how does it work in conjuction part...for example...the new g/l handles document splitting and one other thing georg referenced last night...will the split documents go into our new table group?
BSEG does not have the document splitter information that we need (it's incomplete data). It's missing profit centers on many items, it's missing the proper split of transactions.

Client situation: Our client is implementing ECC 6 and is using the "New-GL" features. Because of business requirements, the coding block has been extended (not insignificantly - 18 extra fields at the moment) to accommodate legal, regulatory and management reporting. The reporting solution includes standard ECC reporting (e.g. report writer, report painter reports) as well as feeds to BW (BI 7).
The Challenge: Our understanding is that adding all of the coding block extensions to the New-GL tables (ie. FAGLFLEXA and FAGLFLEXT) may lead to performance degradation in the ECC system. However, we still need to accommodate the requirement to report by the additional dimensions that are not currently included in the New-GL, so our challenge has been to find a solution that minimizes performance issues, while still allowing us to have all the necessary dimensions with which to do the required reporting.
What we would like to know: How have you handled this in similar situations?
Have you added to the New-GL tables? How many fields? Performance issues encountered?
Have you created additional table group(s) based on the New-GL and then modified that structure to have the new fields? How does the additional table group work co-incident with New-GL (e.g. does the additional table group receive document splitting information?)?
Have you created custom extractors for BW? On what basis (we understand that FAGFLEXA cannot be created as a datasource to feed BW)?

DOWNLOAD is obsolete FM in ECC 6. To get the same functionality , we need to use
CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES=>FILE_SAVE_DIALOG method (It provides the File selection feature)
and
GUI_DOWNLOAD function module.(It downloads the internal table from program to presentation server)

Error when posting - Call up of feature PPMOD was not successful

Good Afternoon,
We recently completed an upgrade to ECC6.0 and this week we have seen two cases of receiving an error when trying to post payroll to FI using RPCIPE00.
The error we are receiving is: Call up of feature PPMOD was not successful, Message no. 3G100
The diagnosis on the error message is: Feature PPMOD has been called to set the employee grouping for account determination. This call was unsuccessful and suggests that we check the decision tree for PPMOD.
While there have been some somewhat recent changes to PPMOD, I have stepped through the feature for both individuals who had this error and can find no problem with the logic in the decision tree. I've also regenerated the feature successfully. After searching OSS I found note 1243065, which is the exact error that we are receiving. The problem is that this note was included in HR support pack 44, and we're already on HR support pack 48. We also found a post that suggested we use RPCIPE00_OLD, but gave us the same error.
My next step was to post a customer message, but thought it would be worthwile to post something here and see if anyone has any suggestions first.

The issue may not be related to the note you indicated as this note should already be included in your system with SP 48. Please check what personnnel areas the errors ees are in, and see if they're in the decision tree of 'PPMOD' .
If this looks OK, run payroll simulation for the error ee, put break-point in form 'CALL_549B' of program '/1PAPA/FEAT310PPMOD' and see what value STRUC-WERKS (pers. area) is when it fails.

Automatic Payments-Offsetting Downpayments with related Goods Receipt-ECC6

Dear all,
We are using automatic payments (faa0) and creating a payment proposal to settle an invoice that has a downpayment posted for the same purchase order. The purchase order has a goods receipt posted against it.
We are on version ERP2005 (ECC6) and use Funds Management (BCS). New functionality in Funds Management allows for the offsetting(clearing) of the downpayment by the goods receipt value. For example:
You have created a purchase order for $200.
You have created a down payment for $100 as below.
Credit the bank account $100-
Debit the vendor special G/L $100
You then create a GR for $50. If this is a valuated GR and if you are using this feature, you get an additional posting like below in addition to the standard GR lines.
Credit the vendor special G/L $50-
Debit the vendor account $50
The problem we are experiencing is when we have to perform the automatic payment. The payment proposal is picking up the downpayment and determines that it needs to be settled but then generates the following message:
Message no. FZ347 - ...none of the payment methods defined can be used for these items
In analysing the error message we did the following:
1) Looked at remedies for customising settings for payment methods and payment groupings as per OSS note 164835 - F110 Clearing Credit Memos and Invoices - none of the remedies applied
2) Applied a test on a downpayment with no goods receipt - The payment proposal was able to process downpayment and net it off against the invoice and therefore the problem solely relates to this specific scenario and not all downpayments.
My question is whether anyone has managed to successfully create the payment proposal for the scenario described above and how they achieved it?

Invoice Receipt Warning Message Appear After Upgrade from 4.6C to ECC6

Hi Gurus,
We do upgrade from 4.6C to ECC6. And we do Invoice Verification base on Delivery (Vendor delivery number), in our business process there more than one Purchase Order has same Vendor Delivery Number while GR executed. But only one Purchase order related to Invoice verification, others PO are Free PO (no need Invoice Verification).
The problem is:
In SAP 4.6C, while execute Invoice base on Delivery (Vendor delivery), system automatic select only PO with Delivery (vendor) which related/allow invoice receipt.
In SAP ECC6, while execute Invoice base on Delivery (vendor delivery), all PO selected. So than there are warning messages appear (warning pop screen) for those PO not allow invoice Receipt (message M8035: PO item XXXXX does not allow invoice receipt), and at the end PO which allow Invoice receipt then appear for further Invoice Receipt process.
At overall, the final result SAP 4.6C and SAP ECC6 is same (only PO which allowed Invoice Receipt will processed further).
The Question are:
1. Why in ECC6 appear warning message, while in 4.6C no warning message ? Is there config to ignoring the warning message. I've try to maintain system message for M8035 (t-code: OMRM) to ignoring the pop screen, but can not created.
2. How do we make warning message dissapear (no need warning message), because if the PO's has hundred items so user need to click enter hundred times.

could you please check whether the flag "GR-based IV" is set in the purchase orders?
If GR based-IV is ticked, then this pop-up cannot be suppressed.
If you would like to post the invoice first then GR-based IV should not be checked, otherwise this pop-up will always appear. I am afraid that this behaviour is standard.
Please, be aware that this feature is only available if you set in the Purchase Order item the 'GR-based IV' indicator:
 If the GR-IV flag is not set in the PO, then the system does not
 differentiate individual goods receipts. Please see the <f1> help
 for the field "GR-IV" in the PO item detail. Since the individual
 receipts are not differentiated, an invoice is not tied per se to
 an individual receipt and a goods receipt can be reversed despite
 an invoice receipt.
With the GR-IV flag set on in a PO, you can specify which goods
 receipt is being invoiced in an IR and which goods receipt is being
 reversed in a return. It is this correlation between goods receipts
 and invoices that enables you to specify for GR-IV PO's whether an
 item can be returned despite an invoice.
