Features in EhP1

Hi,
We are currently EP7.0 SP18. Can someone help me with the additional features available in EP7 Ehp1? Is there a document or blog available for this?

Hi,
the offial documentation are the relase notes that Sandeep has posted.
You won't get anything spectacular new with EHP1. After all, the main bug fixes are also released via SPS for 7.00.
I think one change that isn't mentioned in the release notes is the CTS+ and NWDI/CMS transport of EAR/SCA WebDynpro Java packages.
Said that, upgrading the portal to EHP1 just to be on EHP1 makes only little sense. Specially if the portal will be the only EHP1 in your landscape. If you already have EHP1 in your landscape (Dynpro, ECC, SLD, etc) it makes sense.

Helly,
I heard about the new feature in EHP1: "Search asynchronous messages by business-relevant information criteria contained in the message payload (SalesOrder Number, customerID, etc)."
Has anybody tried it yet? Is that realy as simple as it sounds? Can I just search for any free-text information in the SXMB moni? What steps are necessary to use this feature?

User defined message search enables you to search for messages using the XML payload attributes or using the adapter specific message attributes.
Implementation:1) Execute the transaction SXMS_LMS_CONF.
                           2) Define the filter to select the message you want to search. Filter is selected on Service Interaface level(bot outbound and inbound side).
                           3) On that filter define a extractor.Extractor uses an XPath expression to search for attributes in the payload of a message or you can also selcet select dynamic header for adapter-specific message attributes
                           4) And at last define the namespace prefix (optional step).

Error while genetrating gettter method on Context node attribute

Hi,
I am working in SAP CRM 7.0 Ehp1.Now I need to create get_p_a and set_p_a method
on context node attribute.But while selecting attribute and clicking on right and selecting
on generate P-Getter,getting an error (error message - View not copied or enhanced with wizard; processing not possible).
This is a custom context node attribute and need to create gettter,setter method.
Kindly assist on this or suggest is there any way to create method on required context node attribute.

Hi there,
Creation of Getter Setter is not possible for the AET Generated Views and Components.
It seems your view is generated using AET Table enhancement feature of Ehp1 and the context node is thus a based on a Z BOL object created by a feature of AET of Ehp1
For such context node, generation of getter setters is not possible with right click.
If you need any of GET_ , SET_, GET_P_ or GET_V , then you need to copy the GET_P_XYZ etc method you find on context node class.

Data not saved in the table (for the field created through AET)

Hi,
I have created few fields using AET for a transaction type.
The fields are created successfully and we are able to add them in my custom config.
I followed step by step the following link The New AET table Extension Feature of Ehp1- Creating your own components
However the values of these fields are not stored in the ZTable.
I had defined Form view ( 1:1 cardinality) within the wizard itself.

                 lot of new features have been added in CE EHP1 version .for more information refer this [link|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce711/helpdata/en/26/b7fa511a964597a5d8c1b778508936/content.htm] and search in SDN for new features in EHP1 version.
in CE EHP1, local web dynpro projects cannot be used as it is deprecated in this version.
i believe this calendar is a local standalone project created in CE 7.1 version and conert this local project to development component.
right click on ur local project --> Development component -->Convert Project to Development Component.
After this, go ur NWDI --> select ur component --> right click --> Create project (& Sync ysed Dcs) ..
finally deploy and run ur component .

PSA Deletion for Hierarchy Data sources

Hi All,
We have a 0customer_hier data source whose PSA needs to be included in the process chain for deletion of PSA on regular basis. I could find one table on the F4 search funcitonality while adding the PSA table in process chain variant.
But if i look into RSRV i can 4 PSA tables. How do i get to assign all the 4 tables in the deletion variant ? Any pointers? Thanks !

In EHP1 , the deletion of PSA Tables can be done by specifying the selection patterns.
You can check the new features in EHP1 for the same.

BRFplus EH2 functionality separately

This is a question to Carsten:
We go live with a feature that would greatly benefit using BRFplus in June. As the release of EHP2 was planned for Q3 2009 I included BRFplus in the project scoop. However, now Thomas Jung tells us that EHP2 will be available in Q2, maybe.......
As you all have noticed, the features in EHP1 are not very useful so we would really need the EHP2 functionality.
Is there any possibility to have EHP2 functionality shipped separately?
If feels disappointing to wait for a functionality that does not arrive that would really help just to be forced to revert to old ABAP in the last minute. In future go-lives the requirements are even bigger but then the ways of implementing business logic in the project would be already settled....
I also have a wish to change the UI to something eclipse based like Visual Rules but that is a different story.

Hi Martin,
NW 700 EHP2 was planned for Q3/2009 and postponed to June 2010 so that it will be ramp-up with suite. Test status looks good. Therefore, I do not see a delay. In fact NW 700 EHP2 is already completed.
I expect a trial version to be available soon. However, this version cannot be used productively. We did check various options to release it since we have dozens of customers waiting for it to be used in projects. There is no standard option but only customer specific options that we would need to discuss in a phone conference.

I do not agree with this statement. We have some happy customers using it. It depends on the complexity of the scenario you want to use it for. Of course NW 700 EHP1 is a #1 version of the product. NW 700 EHP2 has nealry 2 more years of dev which shows up in many additional features, better usability etc.

Connection between SMD Agent and SMD server via SAProuter

In our scenario, we have to setup the connection between SMD agent and SMD server(solution manager server) via saprouter. But during the installation of SMD agent, we can only specify the hostname of the managing system, we have no place to add saprouter string(/H/..../H/). I I am not sure if we could connect the agent and server via saprouter, if so how to do it?
Hope someone can give us your precious advices on this issue.

But in the SM Diagnostics Setup options I can set up only a direct HTTP adresses and have no options to set up connections over a sap router to P4 ports directly. I can at the moment only solve my problems with NAT or firewall rules.
And also the diagnostic agent setup has no options to config a proxy or sap router. I found yesterday a blog on sdn side with screenshots of the setup with all available connection opetions to SLD... sry I can not post this link today.
This is an official statment of SAP from the current version of SMD guide; it is also possible but why not from the beginning???:
In some network conficurations, the Diagnostics agent has to connect to the Managing system though a SAP router.
This feature will be fully supported in Solution Manager 7 Ehp2 (7.02).
In order to enable this feature in Ehp1, please contact the Diagnostics Agent support team to get information on how to
setup the agent and on which patch level you can perform the installation.
This thread were a long time not answared; proxy and routing connections are mostly stepmotherly handled by SAP; this is also a problem by set up of automatic RFC generations in SMSY; why there are in the setup assitents no options to set up the router string.
I have absolutly no comprehension for this in year 2011. All this technics are good known and long time tested.

PI 7.1 EHP1 Mapping with Variables feature

HI,
Anyone can point to a blog/something explaining how the variables works in the graphical mapping editor? (PI 7.1 EHP1)
It's working fine for simple one-to-one mapping, but as soon as queues and context come in I'm never getting the expected results.
Now I'm trying to populate a variable to be re-used in 2 differents target fields.
source -> useOneAsMany -> splitByValue -> trim -> variable.
variable -> target1
variable -> some logic -> target 2
Exception: values missing in queue context. Target XSD requires a value for this element, but the target-field mapping does not create one. Check whether the XML instance is valid for the source XSD, and whether the target-field mapping fulfils the requirement of the target XSD)
Are VARIABLE single value and cannot be used as a ResultList?

The screenshot made me notice the occurence of the variable is 0..1 so my guess would be it can only be single value and not ResultList.
Also the Display Queue option is not working properly.
This looks like a nice feature on paper but is really limited.

New Feature EHP1

I tried the IDoc XML to IDoc Flat File conversion , using the new feature available in PI 7.11. Below mentioned is a BLOG that I used as a reference.

However, everytime I am getting an error message in the Reciever Channel :-
Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.conn.idoc.IDocException: (0) IDOC_ERROR_INITIALIZATION: Exception in record factory. Check the configuration of ResourceAdapter.

How did you resolve this problem. I am getting the same error whether I use port number as 3601 or 01 in Java connection factory creation.
Does this error is related to connection factory creation or the destination creation.
The error I am getting is
"Adapter Framework caught exception: (0) IDOC_ERROR_INITIALIZATION: Exception in record factory. Check the configuration of ResourceAdapter"

Hi,
Although I have not encountered this error in my installation copy - you can try the following:
Take the zip file for NWDS to another machine and install it. If you do get the same error - then the zip file was damanged in the transfer - if not then probably it is an issue with the Microsoft Installer files that you are using. If you are using a legal version of Windows then upgrade to the latest updates and then try again. You can try the same steps after shutting down and restarting your PC.
Most probably the zip file is damaged since the MSI has run successfully.for the CE WAS.

Installation SAP Sneak Preview 7.0 EhP1 fails.

I want to install SAP Sneak Preview 7.0 EhP1, with the new WD4A features. I already had one installation that failed. Therefore, the official uninstall was not yet present in c:\sap\nsp\uninstall. So I had to delete all files and folders manually. I also used the registry cleaning tool, checked the host file and services file. But still, when trying to (re)install it, on the first check of the installation wizard, I keeps giving me the error, that there is already an NSP system running /installed, which in fact is not (no longer) true. What else should I do to overcome this error?

Unable to test enterprise services in SAP SRM 7.0 EhP1

For my recent project, we have enabled "PI Independent Enterprise Services" business function in our SRM 7.01 EhP1 system. While to trying to test some of the enterprise services, we are facing some error. I am pasting the request message and the response that I got from the enterprise service InternalRequestSRMByElementsQueryResponse_in. While defining the end point, I have used basic authentication settings. Note that I am testing this ES with my own user id and password which is a valid on for the SRM system. Thanks for responding. Yes, all the backend config are in place since I am able to successfully run an equivalent RFC (BBP_PD_SC_GETLIST) and another RFC named BBP_PD_SC_GETDETAIL from SE37. The problem seems to be something very specific to the ES. May I request you to run this ES at your end (if possible) and let me know the result possibly with the input and output message similar to the one I pasted in the origincal question.

Upgrade only Java stack to Ehp1 (SAPehpi)

Hi Gurus,
We are currently on PI 7.1, and is considering to upgrade to Ehp1 (primarily for IDoc packaging feature)
and since the IDoc packaging feature is delivered thru a Sender IDoc adapter, which means this seats on the Adapter Engine already (Java stack)
I saw the document for SAPehpi (Upgrading to Ehp1 for a PI 7.1 system) and if i understand it correctly there are two options,
one ABAP + JAVA upgrade and the other is JAVA only upgrade.
So does that mean I can upgrade my Adapter Engine (AAE) to Ehp1 using the JAVA only upgrade option?
My apologies in advance as i have no experience yet in upgrading 7.1 systems

Even when you apply EhP1, you can use IDoc packaging only, if your sender system is also on SAP BASIS 7.1 EhP1 or SAP BASIS 7.0 Ehp1.
So you should confirm this first.

XI 7.0 EHP1 vs. PI 7.1

Does anyone know where I can look at the new features in NW EHP1 and the same in PI7.1. We are running XI on NW7.0 SPS15 and are going to either patch, enhance, or upgrade this spring. It all comes down to a comparing and contrasting of new features but SAP doesn't make that easy, I've noticed even in the "Benefits of PI 7.1" documents that they include things that XI 7.0 can already do.
Any links or opinions to get me started would be appreciated.

and i dont think there is XI 7.0 i.e PI 7.0 EHP1.. EHP1 is for PI 7.1
