How does the Orion gtk theme works for you? The only theme that works good for me on Pantheon is Evolve.
I get a minor issue with the notification popups, but other than that it's pretty spiffy.

Hi! My phone speaker is not working, so I cant hear people when they call me. I bought my iphone 4s con February 2013 in the Grand Central (NYC - USA) Apple Store. I would like to know if I can take it to an Apple Store in Spain so they can fix it or change it. Or I need to find a way to take it to the US, where I bought it.
Thanks!!!

You will need to return the phone to the US. iPhone warranty is only good in the country of purchase, with the exception of the EU.

• Why is the signal at my home so much weaker than when I moved here in February 2013?  I only get one or two bars and very poor data service if any at all.

Why is the signal at my home so much weaker than it was when I moved here in February 2013?  I get only one or two bars and very poor data service if any at all.  Calling to ask the question results in a vortex of questions that have little to do with the problem and no  resolution or answer.

I have a Droid Ultra phone.  The signal reduction seems to only be in the general area of my home.  If I go downtown, the signal improves to what it once was at home.  Everything at my home is as it was when the signal was good, including cable TV service.  There has been no new construction in the area that I know of.
Thanks for trying to resolve the issue.  Just this morning while trying to view web pages, I found that I could not load any.

• ICal on iPad mini crashing as swipe through February 2013

As I swipe forward in iCal and try to get past mid/end February 2013 the app crashes. It's been like this since I bought the iPad mini. Anyone else having the same problem? ICal works fine on my MacBook Pro with Mountain Lion and also on my iPhone that runs same OS as the iPad.

I can't find how to delete my Q but the answer I have now discovered was to delete an all day entry on 1st April from one of my synced calendars. I think it has something to do with summer time ending somewhere the day before and the entry on 1st being all day by reference to times (I.e. 0001 to 2359). I have other entries that day inclu all day entries that simply tick the all day box instead of inserting a time and they do not appear to cause iCal to crash.
Seems this problem has been around since last year and no one has fixed it.
Good luck!

If Apple has not received your phone, obviously it can't even be evaluated for warranty purposes. Have you tried calling AppleCare to verify whether they have received the phone or not?

• 15in Retina MBP June 2012 or February 2013

I have decided to get a MacBook Pro with retina display and was wondering if I should get the June 2012 version ($1599) or the February 2013 version ($1659), I can't decide which one to pick, is the 2013 version worth the $60 upgrade?

All --
I ordered a 13 inch rMBP refurbished for $1,269 and just received it today.  I ran the image retention test and there is clear image retention   Even when I have Safari open and decide to minmize it after 5 or so minutes, the outline of the browser shows as image retention.  I tried running the command to determine manufacturer's display model, but all I get is "@.`0 6 Color LCD" as the value that's returned. I've tried it multiple times with no success. Having no luck determining the manufacturer, but based on the IR test, I'm assuming it's an LG.  Very frustrating now I have to go to the store and return it.  Wondering if I just order a brand new one for $1,399 (education discount) and hope the issue has been corrected in that version.  Man, this *****.

• Oracle February 2013 CPU for Java SE on e-business

Hi,
I am a bit confused about these java updates again!
Is this new & accelerated CPU for desktops and application as well? We are on R12.1.3 and I am not sure where this CPU needs to go.
When I did java -version on the apps tier, I got:
java version "1.6.0_10"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_10-b33)
Java HotSpot(TM) Server VM (build 11.0-b15, mixed mode)
A quick response will be appreciated please. Thanks

Thanks as always Hussein and others.
As I stated above, on the apps-tier when I do:

Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_10-b33)
Java HotSpot(TM) Server VM (build 11.0-b15, mixed mode)
For this CPU and others like that, does that mean i should update the apps tier java version to say e,g java version "1.7.0_13" (the latest). And the client desktop (Windows 7) to be running 1.7.0_13 as well?Correct.
Any notes that talks about the desktop and apps -tier java version? It is all in one doc which is referenced above -- Deploying Sun JRE (Native Plug-in) for Windows Clients in Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 [ID 393931.1]
Once you configure the JRE plug-in on the server, the clients will be prompted to download and install it once they access the application for the first time.
Please make sure you meet the minimum requirements in (Recommended Browsers for Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 [ID 389422.1]).
Thanks,

What editor is that at the bottom, and how did you make its statusbar look like that?
Hey!! It's emacs and I'm using this sick plugin.
That's awesome, thanks for sharing. I'm a vim user, but am going to start working through Practical Common Lisp pretty soon so I might give emacs and that plugin a try!

• June 2013 Screenshots

Posting Guidelines
· DO NOT post full resolution screenshots!  You can use the "mogrify" command (pacman -S imagemagick) to make a thumbnail of your screenshot:
$ convert -resize 250x250 screenie.png thumb-screenie.png
Sizes Twenty percent of the original size is great for 1024x768 screenies. For bigger sizes (and especially for multi-monitor setups), we ask you to keep in mind not everyone uses broadband, and use an even smaller size (10% of a Full HD setup will still be 192x180, for example). NOTE: Anything wider than 250px or over 50Kb in size will be removed.
You can then upload these images to your server and use the following code to show them on the forum:

*Thanks to Thayer for the screenie (more...)
· Several websites offer free image hosting.
Use the "thumbnail for forums" link code that is supplied by the image host to post your thumbnail link.
· Once the new month begins please do not post new screenies in the old threads.
· If the screenshot has questionable material that might not be safe to view while at work or in a school setting, please post only a link and not a thumbnail, along with a mention of "Not Safe for Work". Posts that do not adhere to this are subject to deletion without notice at any time.
· Please try to include any links to your wallpaper or configs that you may have and/or the names of your icon theme, running apps, DE, etc. in the same post to reduce unnecessary clutter later.
***** Your screenshot will be replaced by a reminder if you do not follow these guidelines *****
* As a simple way to include information about your setup in the screenshot, you can use a tool like Archey, screenfetch or screenfo (all in AUR) to print out details about your window manager, font, shell etc., with a very attractive ASCII Arch logo...

Posting Guidelines
· DO NOT post full resolution screenshots!  You can use the "mogrify" command (pacman -S imagemagick) to make a thumbnail of your screenshot:
$ cp screenie.png thumb-screenie.png
$ mogrify -resize 20% thumb-screenie.png
Twenty percent of the original size is great for 1024x768 screenies.  You can then upload these images to your server and use the following code to show them on the forum:
http://my.site.com/thumb-screenie.png
This displays the thumbnail as a link to the screenie like this:
· Several websites also offer free image hosting, of these ImageShack is very popular and does a neat auto thumbnail:
Use the "Thumbnail for forums" link code that is supplied by ImageShack to post your thumbnail link.

Return it to the store where you purchased & get your money back. Either that, or call the store. No one here can help you, as there is no one from Apple here.
