Feedback Form issues

Hey everyone,
I am having issues with my feedback form. I have followed tutorials on how to create one, and I thought I did everything correctly until I tested it. The words were not supposed to be underlined, and the color I picked was black, not grey. Also it seems when you being to type in the text field, it refreshes the page. I am testing it with google chrome. Any ideas?

Thank you for your feedback, I am glad the question has been answered to your satisfaction.

  • PHP email form - issue with who it's from

    Hi,
    I've got a referral page on my site where the user puts in their details and a friends details and the form fires off a email to the friend. The form is in HTML and posts it to a PHP file. The problem is I get in the email for who it's from:
    from
    "Scott Bradshaw"@server74.ukservers.net
    I don't want the
    @server74.ukservers.net
    in their.
    Is this an issue with PHP files and forms or is their a way round it? I know I could do a mailto: form but don't want to. What are my options?
    Thanks, Scott

    I'm making the website for someone and they had the hosting set up already but thanks for telling me. I think this is right what I've done:
    function detectSuspect($val, &$ok) {
      if (preg_match('/Content-Type:|Cc:|Bcc:/i', $val)) {
        $ok = false;
    $YourName = Trim(stripslashes($_POST['YourName']));
    $YourEmail = Trim(stripslashes($_POST['YourEmail']));
    $RefName = Trim(stripslashes($_POST['RefName']));
    $RefEmail = Trim(stripslashes($_POST['RefEmail']));
    $EmailFrom = $YourEmail;
    $Subject = $RefName;
    $EmailTo = $RefEmail;
    // validation
    $validationOK=true;
    detectSuspect($YourName, $validationOK);
    detectSuspect($YourEmail, $validationOK);
    detectSuspect($RefName, $validationOK);
    detectSuspect($RefEmail, $validationOK);
    if (!$validationOK) {
      print "<meta http-equiv=\"refresh\" content=\"0;URL=error.html\">";
      exit;
    // prepare email body text
    $Body = "Hi $RefName,
    $YourName thought you would be interested in viewing this online video called A
    tale of 2 customers (< 3 mins).
    www.easybench.org/ataleof2customers3";
    $Body2 = "";
    $Body2 .= "User Name: ";
    $Body2 .= $YourName;
    $Body2 .= "\n";
    $Body2 .= "User Email: ";
    $Body2 .= $YourEmail;
    $Body2 .= "\n";
    $Body2 .= "Referral Name: ";
    $Body2 .= $RefName;
    $Body2 .= "\n";
    $Body2 .= "Referral Email: ";
    $Body2 .= $RefEmail;
    $Body2 .= "\n";
    // send email
    $success = mail($EmailTo, $Subject, $Body, "From: $EmailFrom<$EmailFrom>");
    mail("[email protected]", "Referral details", $Body2, "From: [email protected]");
    // redirect to success page
    if ($success){
      print "<meta http-equiv=\"refresh\" content=\"0;URL=thankyou2.html\">";
    else{
      print "<meta http-equiv=\"refresh\" content=\"0;URL=error.html\">";
    ?>
    I've also got a feedback form thing too, the script above wouldn't work for it I guess as it's protecting against different thing but what's the best way to protect the feedback form? I've heard of a honeypot thing where create hidden form field.
    Thanks, Scott

    Hi Michelle ,
    We are extremely sorry that you have had a bad experience with Adobe .
    As far as your issue is concerned ,Acrobat generally prompts for internet connection as it is required to activate the product before you could use it comfortably .Once the product is activated or licensed you would be able to use the software offline .
    This could be the possible reason you are experiencing this .Please check if you have done so and still facing this .And if you have not ,you need to license/activate your product by typing in your credentials ,i.e Adobe ID and password .
    You could also refer the following link to get updated about the activation of your product .

  • Add a topic name to a feedback form

    Hello.
    I am using RH 10.
    In our help system, I would like to add a feedback link to each topic. When the user clicks the link a feedback from opens. This feedback form should have the name of the topic or the file name (either one) that the user clicked the feedback link on.
    The name can display in a field or be hidden, we just need the information included when the user mails the feedback form.
    I know how to create the form and add the feedback link to the master page.
    A discussion here
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/2238475#2238475
    indicates that the topic or file name could be captured and passed to the feedback form.
    I have seen the grainge article about creating a simple email feedback form ( http://www.grainge.org/pages/snippets/mailto.htm) and it is helpful, but not exactly what I need.
    Has anyone used RH to do this, and if so, how?
    Tbanks for your help.

    Hiya!
     Unfortunately it is only possible to add a signature to an email. You cannot add one to a text message. Sorry

  • Feedback form Problem

    Hello Adobe Communities, this is my first time here and I probably will be back here again.
    How do I make my Feedback Form (coding shown below) send an email when the user clicks 'Submit' to '[email protected]'
    Thanks for your help. On a side note if the user clicks 'submit' too many times can you make it so it won't send that email address notifications anymore.
    Note that: I'm using Adobe Dreamweaver CS3

    Ok I'm using your code at the moment and I'm having some difficulty - which is probably my own fault as I did not supply you with the whole code initially. Here is the 'complete' code with your coding in bold font, I placed your code slab-bang where my previous feedback form was. I haven't tested this out due to not setting up my webserver at the moment. But anyway here is my problem, for some reason everything doesn't look right. Thanks.

  • Feedback form not working.

    I am trying to do a simple feedback form to send an email to me when a button is pressed. I get an email, but all of the contents are blank. anyone might know the issue here?
    http://www.testmeserver.site90.net/feedback.html
    Here is my php Code
    <?php
    $msg = "Name:$namen";
    $msg .= "Email:$emailn";
    $msg .= "Comments:$commentsn";
    $recipient = "[email protected]";
    $subject = "$subject";
    $mailheaders = "From: $email";
    $mailheaders .= "Reply-To: $email";
    mail($recipient, $subject, $msg, $mailheaders);
    header("Location: http://www.testmeserver.site90.net/thankyou.html");
    ?>

    This is the code to which the form is being submitted?
    Can we see the form?
    The problem is that there is nothing in this code that relates to any POSTed data from the form.  You are using some PHP variables ($namen, $emailn, etc.) but there is no link between those variables and the form.  You would need to have something like this -
    $namen = $_POST['namen']; // where "namen" is the name of the field in the form
    $emailn = $_POST['emailn'];
    $subject = $_POST['subject'];
    and so on....
    This would then bind the posted data to the PHP variables.

  • Feedback form working!

    I have at last got my feedback form working in a reasonably
    presentable manner.
    If you would like to test it, go to
    http://localhost/Corybas/index.php,
    click
    the yellow envelope at the bottom right of the home page, and
    send me a message.
    When I get the site converted to php, this envelope will
    appear on every page.
    Eventually I want to get the 'Thank you' form on a separate
    page. At present I
    am using the same page as the feedback form, and because of
    the way my templates
    are designed the page footer is in another table which is
    drawn after the
    'Contents' table, so on the Thank you page it is not drawn,
    and there is no way
    I can draw it using the standard template.
    I discovered that if I use JavaScript to launch the feedback
    page, not only can
    I close it again without IE querying it, but ZoneAlarm does
    not regard it as a
    pop-up, and does not block the feedback envelope.

    I can't help thinking you are still confused with all of
    this. Why is the

  • Feedback form development

    Dear all
    I Developed Feedback using Java script with some validations...if the user submits it will go to the specified email id..which i was mentioned in Form action type..
    My question is...There are nearly 7000 customers will login into portal everyday...I want know...Whether i can retrive the user details(Portal) into Feedback form. when ever he submits ..automatically that message has to go to the respective Branches..
    Example:
    CustA, CustB, CustC.. are belongs to BRANCH1
    CustD, CustE, CustF.. are belongs to BRANCH2.
    When ever customer logs into portal...when he submits the feedback about any issue or suggestion...automatically portal has to find ..this particular user belongs to Branch1.
    Can anybody help me how do i build this logic...
    Ur valuble inputs are appreciated with points
    rgds
    pradeep

    Hi Pradeep,
    first, you are using a form with action type mailto?! This is not the most clean solution, check http://www.netmechanic.com/news/vol3/form_no4.htm for example for some comments on this.
    Anyhow, even if using this technique, you could render this script at server side with the mailto target dependent on the actual user. The user you get from the request, and how the mapping user <-> branch is done should be within your knowledge... So I cannot realise serious problems.
    A more clean solution would be to implement the mailing funtionality on server side, so just grabbing the input from the form and creating a mail using JavaMail or some other mailing functionality from within the portal (all depending on JavaMail). Be aware that mails on server side should be transmitted asychronously for not getting a lag in the request-reponse cycle (and other reasons).
    With this, it's early enough to check where the mail should be destinated when the filled in form reachs the server.
    Hope it helps
    Detlev

  • CNN Feedback Form Does Not Load

    Several weird things with CNN site.
    First, when I was on it around 1:45 pm or so I typed in a term into its search box, and kept getting in the message box in my lower left corner screen that it was transmitting data from something like falsemail[dot]net, and so I finally clicked on the "x" in the address bar to stop the transmission, and then the site loaded properly.
    However, when I tried to report this apparent error to CNN through its feedback form for technical issues I couldn't get pull up the form, had trouble backpaging and, once I was able to get out of the site, the URL listed from the front page button was this odd wyciwyg://13/http://www[dot]cnn[dot]com/ What is that?
    Finally, when I tried to access CNN contact us as a link through a google search there was huge latency, and unable to reach its page.
    I cleared my browser, cookies and cache but can't seem to pull up the CNN feedback form to report its technical glitches.
    Is this a Firefox browser issue or CNN site issue?
    Thanks for any insight folks may have.

    Thanks for such a quick response.
    The link you provided does work for me.
    The one that doesn't work for me is here: http://www.cnn.com/feedback/#cnn_FBKErrors
    When I select "technical" from the drop down box for the Error category it all seems to go haywire.

  • Help with Dreamweaver CS4 feedback form

    I am trying to get my first feedback form working properly.
    There are two problems:
    1. I can't click in the boxes to enter info. The only way to access them is to tab through.
    2. When I submit, it brings up a second blank feedback page in Safari. In Firefox, it just loops back to the empty feedback page.

  • Can someone advise me on how to create a feedback form in java??

    hello
    im learning to create a GUI and would like to create a feedback form like the one java website has below
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/forms/sendusmail.html
    could someone advise me or provide any helpful link on how to do that?I just want to learn to do a simple feedback form(just a textbox and a submit button)
    thank you
    tomleo

    That's a Swing tutorial. The idea is you learn Swing, and then use the things you learned about to create the application you want. There is nothing special about a feedback form, it just uses elements common to almost any GUI app.

  • HT201272 I purchased Season 3 of the Walking Dead.  I cannot download the second episode of the season; corrupted file.  I submitted a feedback form, but they do not send a reply.  I tried to use the online help/support, got an error code for that page.

    I just want my content.  I am frustrated at trying to get on-line help.  Either I will not get a reply to my feedback form, or the online support page has an error code, with "please try again later" or "start over".  I have paid for this content, and cannot download their corrupted file.

    Are you in a country where TV shows can be re-downloaded - if you are then have you tried deleting that copy from your iTunes library and re-downloading it via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes ?
    When you say that you used the feedback page, do you mean the feedback page (which you won't get a reply to) or the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history on your account or the contact iTunes Support page ?
    'report a problem' : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that song and use the 'Report a Problem' link and fill in details about the problem (iTunes support should reply within, I think, about 24 hours).
    contact iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption (if this page doesn't work then have you tried clearing your browsers history/cache and/or tried a different browser ?)

  • SQL Verification Problem / Muse Form Issue (Server uses MySQL muse uses SQLite) I'm in desperate need of help

           Alright well here is my issue... I have been trying to fix it on my own for the past week non stop and I have finally came to a solid conclusion as to the cause of the issue.
       I always get the error "The server has encountered an error..." in red text when anyone tries to submit a form and also when I try and test it myself. This led me to test the server / site for compatibility or issues by using the test:
    mydomain.com /scripts/form_check.php
    I got the first two checks green (pass) and the third test threw a red check meaning I was having an issue with SQL verification. This then led me to days of trying to work with my hosting provider (one.com) trying to solve the problem and I was told that they use mySQL on their servers and that they couldn't do anything on their end to solve the issue. I read alot that we are recommended in this case to try and get our host to add the SQLite database to their server or whatever it is they would do, long story short I guess many people are able to ask their host to make SQLite work and most accept and add SQLite functionality to their servers but unfortunately my hosting provider doesn't want to do this and they said they were sorry and that I would need to either switch the script to work with mySQL or figure something else out...
       I took a lot of time building my site and I dont want to take the form out. I absolutely need it... I know many post on here saying "forms dont work, oh poop " or "adobe sucks I dont want to use business catalyst grrr" but I tried to find the source of the problem and I've successfully came to the conclusion that my issue is that my script wants to use SQLite but in order for my sites forms to work the server needs to have SQLite as well... My idea is that if I can configure the script and the site itself to use mySQL instead of SQLite the SQL verification will then not be an issue and my websites forms will function with no issues. I am curious if a member of the staff with adobe has experience with this particular issue and can help me out? or if a member of the adobe community has solved this problem? If not I am hoping that with the description I provided that someone with knowledge of mysql, sqlite or code in general could help me modify the script or write a new script that will allow the forms to work properly. I know its a long shot, I say that because this discussion is full of people who used muse in favor of dreamweaver because just like a large number of people in the muse discussion area, I'm a graphic designer, with plenty of computer experience, art and design skill and I am extremely familiar with photoshop. Muse is perfect in so many ways. In fact, like I mentioned above, I don't even have a complaint at this time about muse. I understand the form issue in this case, and I imagine in thousands of other users situations, is all just a matter of scripts and compatibility.. Its just a little issue between the SQLite scripts we are all given when we export our muse website and the SQL version our various hosting service may be using on their servers.
       Just incase I missed anything, to provide just a bit more info on the topic and myself for anyone who may be able to help:
    I can alter the text inside of the scripts easily if anyone happens to know any lines of code that easily solve this issue (making the muse contact forms, which are native to SQLite, functional on a server using mySQL)
    I was told one way I could make the forms work on a server using mySQL (or any version other than SQLite) If I were to make changes to adobe muses SQL version by converting the SQLite db to mySQL db (db = database)
    I am computer literate and I can take any directions necessary, I really just need to get this done, I really appreciate any help I can get!!
    Thank you in advance,
    Roy

  • Feedback form script in RH8

    My form (see below) triggers a PHP script (see below) which is supposed to send the form data to my email address. It works perfectly in a regular web page, but when I've integrated into my WebHelp project the form fails to send anything and show a series of PHP errors (see below). I'm no PHP expert so I'd be grateful if anyone could advise me or suggest an alternative method of producing a Feedback Form in a WebHelp page.
    FORM:
    <form action="sendmail.php" method="post" name="Feedback" id="Feedback">
      <p><strong style="font-weight: bold;">Name</strong>:<br />
        <input name="name" type="text" id="Name" class="fields" size="30" />
      </p>
      <p><strong style="font-weight: bold;">Email</strong>:<br />
        <input name="email" type="text" id="Email" class="fields" size="30" />
      </p>
      <p><strong style="font-weight: bold;">Phone</strong>:<br />
        <input name="phone" type="text" id="Phone" class="fields" size="30" />
      </p>
      <p><strong style="font-weight: bold;">Firm</strong>:<br />
        <input name="firm" type="text" id="Firm" class="fields" size="30" />
      </p>
      <p><strong style="font-weight: bold;">Comments</strong>:<br />
        <textarea name="message" cols="60" rows="5"></textarea>
      </p>
      <p>
        <input name="Clear" type="reset" class="button" value="Clear" />
        <input
      name="Send" type="submit" class="button" id="Send" value="Send" />
      </p>

    Hi Guys, just got round to looking at this again.
    The form now sends the email, but my "thank you" page isn't displayed. Also, if the required fields are not completed, my "error" page isn't displayed either.
    I'm testing this form after it's been published to our web server, which is on the same server as our intranet and the forms on the intranet work fine using the same script. I'm convinced that RoboHelp is doing something weird with the script.
    Any further help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks
    Jonathan
