Feedback from users who have hit disk full on their TM backup Volume

I'm very curious about user experiences whose TM backups have encountered a disk full condition.
For example...
How did you handle it ?
Where you informed of oldest backups being deleted before or after they were actually deleted by TM ?
Did you restart TM backups on the same Volume ?
Did you switch TM to backups to another Volume ?
Did you attempt to copy the TM backups from the full Volume to another larger Volume ?
Did TM backup behave sensibly or did it cause severe issues like hanging or just spinning and spinning or aborting without any error message displayed ?
If it failed and you saw the red "Failed" and the "i" icon that can be clicked for more information on the failure, did the extra informative information help you dealing with the disk full situation ?
If extra information was displayed for the failure did you fully understand the various options provide to you ?
Did you simply give up and stop running TM backups ?
Did you go into the TM backup folder and delete some of the backups and if so, how did you decide which ones to delete ?
Did you use the TM browser to find some files/folder to completely erase from the backups ?

Before. I could choose between this or switching to another volume.

Firstly tried this. It worked.

Then I chose this. It works too.

No. I wish this was feasible from within TM preferences, so waiting for a new feature, rather than tinkering with hidden files will be my choice. Until then, this drive is "not available".

Sensibly I guess. I just don't care whether TM is done, I just sleep my Mac when it's time and all is well so far.

No. I was just testing a volume that I knew already was too small. Seemed to me it just reacted the correct way, quite late/slowly though.

I guess not because I don't remember it, as when usually I can not learn anything useful from it.

TM works fine here. No reason to give up (but I'm waiting for future enhancements for sure).

No, I didn't. I would like this to be handled from within some feature or command in the Preference pane. I don't dare to mess with some special indexing or such smart thing TM does.

    I have an Intel iMac - brilliant machine, I love it. I have not installed Windows : I just don't have the need to justify doing it, but I'm glad to know I can if I do need, or just want to.
    Having a Mac is almost like being immune to viruses (almost - I'm not careless). Everytime I use a PC there are message about viruses - it must drive them crazy! And to install Windows on my iMac would render it vulnerable.

  • GLIMS-Any feedback from people who have tried it?

    I was reading/participating in a thread with comments from those of us who prefered having two search windows in Safari and one participant suggested GLIMS.  It looks very interesting, but I'm always nervous about adding someone.  I'd be very interested in comments and feedback from anyone who has tried or is currently using Glims.

    .... However I have done the same router with another sample MSI oldest and one went to 150 MBps, besides that I did another test on Acer Aspires 5542 which read 300 Mbps .... So from these results that my router goes to 300Mbps (802.11n) as was said . My mother Wireless interesting and I read that it supports 150 Mbps.
    After I had become the driver of the wireless router my way.
    Please if you have any idea ... or users that have the same laptop as mine MSI GE620DX please enlightened me on how fast you go.

    I have laptop> GE620DX with wireless card (Intel (R) Centrino (R) Wireless-N 130). Drivers are updated, but I read 72Mbps.
    I did test with another laptop> msi old ... he read 150Mbps
      and recently I had an Acer Aspires 5542 he read 300 Mbps.
    For these tests ... see that goes to the 802.11n router (300Mbps)
    so with (Intel (R) Centrino (R) Wireless-N 130) ....  should theoretically have 150mbps.

  • When slides are updated within a MS Sharepoint slide library, how can you force an alert with the updated slide version going to users who have previous slide versions on their hard drive?

     How can you hardcode/force that when a slide within a slide library (in Sharepoint 2010) is updated, that an alert is sent to the user who downloaded the slide to their hard drive so that they may replace the outdated slide with the recently
    updated slide. There is a tic box option to set when downloading slides from a sharepoint slide library into power point that ensures alerts are sent when the presentation is opened allowing for replacement of the slide. But, it is an option. How can that
    be hardcoded are forced on all slide library users who download slides from the shrepoint library into power point? Is there a workflow that can be written in Sharepoint or an option in power point to do this? Please advise. Thanks.

    Two things to check:
    Add the network folder location as a trusted location in your Flash Global Security settings and then see if the videos will play.
    If the first suggestion doesn't work, get in touch with your network admin dudes and find out if FLV files are disabled from working over the network from that location.  Many times unless a given file format is enabled on a network, the server assumes it's not desirable and won't serve it.

  • Is BT infinity good, feedback from people who have...

    So my area just got enabled for Fiber Optic and now have a selection of ISP to choose from. At the moment I'm with Sky Boradband Unlimited and they've been perfect. They have offered me a fanstistic deal which is still cheaper than what is BT offering. My question is though is BT Infinity good, I know a lot of people who are with BT at the moment and all they've had is trouble.

    I have had no problems at all with Infinity 2 and the home hub 3. I run a MAC (desktop and aptop)an iPad, an androd tablet, two phones, BTVision, Apple TV, OnLive games console all without problems.

    After I ran SharePoint configuration wizard successfully to upgrade to SharePoint 2013 / SP1.
    I can open Central Administration site just fine.
    but now when I open any Site collection,  I got this error.
    Server Error in '/' Application
    This operation can be performed only on a computer that is joined to a server farm by users who have permissions in SQL Server to read from the configuration database. To connect this server to the server farm, use the SharePoint Products Configuration
    Wizard, located on the Start menu in Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Products
    I have restarted all the servers:  SQL server, WFE and APP servers but still cann't get this resolve.
    Services on all servers are running,  IIS - application pools are running.
    Can someone help with where that could be a problem or if there is a solution.

    Please verify the followings:
    Make sure that from the SharePoint front end and application servers that you can ping your SQL server.
    Make sure that your Farm account has permission to the configuration database.
    Lastly verify that your database didn't for some reasons go into recovery mode.
    once everything is fine and you are still having issues, restart the SQL host service on the SQL server.
    Once the service is restarted you will need to reboot Central Admin and then your front end servers.
    In addition, as you built your farm inside the firewall, please disable the firwall, or create rules for SQL Server service in the firwall on SQL server.

    Thank you for your responses.. To Sjazbec, At least you guys in Germany and the Netherlands have some kind of  posters from Apple to let you know that the feature is not available.
    There is no such warning on the Irish Apple site.!
    My point was that, I would not have even considered trying to reorganize my itunes library had I known that the feature is not available in Ireland.
    And that falls into the domain of Apple Ireland advertising.. which I"m sorry to say is false and misleading.
    There are no "posters" telling the Irish customer that icloud / itunes music is not available!
    I"m not blaming Apple for not "having the feature" in Ireland.. I am upset at them for falsing advertising a feature that they cannot for whatever reason deliver to Irish customers..

    ortonThis is not possible. The best you could do is to have a good guess.
    Or how would you parse some dynamic statement as this:

    ...What is the table name? How do you want to parse that?
    Better rewrite all dynamic SQL statements into non dynamic ones. Or do the source control logic for those dynamic parts in an extra module. For example implement your own dependency table and force every developer to add there all dynamic parts.

    I have some tests in my environment. If the recipients are more than the number of recipients in a day you have set, then this message can't be sent actually, an error (such as "The message can't be sent right now" or "This message can't be
    sent") will occur when you click Send. So the send action can't be finished. Based on my knowledge, Exchange has no built-in function to get the list of users who hit their RecipientRateLimit.

    Hello all, I have been reading posts all day and have not come across the right solution. We have about 2,200 users in our site collection.  I need to design a workflow that sends every one an email with a link to my blank form, then, once a week I
    need the workflow to notify only those users who have not submitted the form.  The part I am having trouble with is querying the users who have not submitted??? is there a way to use the form library data as a data connection and compare it to the data
    in the UPS DB? that's really what I need to do, compare users who have submitted to all users.

    I will suggest to create a timer job (which will run every week) and read library for all submitted form item's created by field and compare with data set which will come from UPS DB. Once these two set is ready,
    use not in clause using LINQ to send email. 
    This is a draft outline solution which came to my mind. Hope, it will help.

    With FM SUSR_USER_DISPLAY_WITH_S_TCODE and GET_AUTH_VALUES you populate users and you get transactions. But we need to populate transactions and to get users.

On some server somwhere my AppleID still tells people they should send me iMessages. What is the solution to this issue? Deleting my AppleID would work to solve this issue, but I cannot ever delete the ID? What can Apple do for this?

    If you did not erase your apps and data before getting rid of your old phone, try using Find My Phone and erasing everything remotely. See if this works.
