Feedback noise from iOS4 upgrade to 3GS

Dear Apple marketing folks, we appreciate your developers, but please get us a patch for this iOS4 issue ASAP. Think of the bad (and very public) experiences that are now happening daily with iPhones randomly making loud screeching noises in work places, cafes, buses, subways, etc.. Talk about bad word-of-mouth marketing. Ouch. The Android marketing people are going to have a field day with this one if it does not get fixed quick.
The recent upgrade to iOS4 on my otherwise great 3GS is causing random, loud, high-pitched, feedback noises to emit every time the phone makes a noise for anything else (reminder ding, etc).
A phone call with tech support only got me a suggestion to do a Restore via iTunes and confirmation that they know this is trending up. The Restore did not work.

I have had the same issue following my upgrade to iOS4. In my opinion these issues are uncharacteristic of Apple. I have had no issues with this phone or any other Apple product that I have used until I made the upgrade to iOS4. I agree with the other posts that something needs to be done about this (and other iOS4 issue) ASAP. PLEASE post any tricks that you have found (besides restores, and reboots which I have already done without lasting success)to work on a more permanent basis.

Feedback noise from computer speakers

my computers are emitting feedback noises when I turn the volume up. if i plug in headphones, i can hear the tapping of keyboard keys, and anything that's happening inside the computer. What do I do to fix this? Why is this happening?

Same problem here!! no matter if speakers or headset is being used the feedback is terrible, even the volume if the mic is automatically turned down ( I guess to avoid the weird sound). the sound hardware checkup only finds that mic detects sound and that speakers make noice so it figures out that sound is ok
any ideas????

Feedback noise from microphone

I have an HP Pavilion desktop p6674y. I plugged in the microphone on the rear panel. The microphone works and I can record with it. But the feedback noise that comes through the logitek speakers makes it impossible hear the audio recorded over the noise. How can I eliminate the feedback noise?.

IPhone Calendar app shows no calendars after iOS4 upgrade on 3GS

I upgraded my iPhone 3GS to iOS 4.0 and now I cannot see any calendars in the built-in calendar app. My calendar is synchronized with my company Exchange server over the air and in the past I always had a button "Calendars" in the top-left corner of the calendar app on the phone, which I could use to show the calendar from the exchange server or my local calendar on the phone. That button is now gone and the entire calendar is empty.
Also, when I try to create an event, it fails with the error "Unable to Save Event - The event has no calendar set.". But again there is no more control on the screen to create an event that would let me specify which calendar it should go on.
The rest of the synchronization with the Exchange server works fine, i.e. all my contacts and email sync nicely.
I've also tried to sync with my MobileMe calendar instead, and it has the same problem - I cannot see any calendars on the phone.
I've tried to reset things by turning calendar sync off for the Exchange account, waiting a while, even rebooting the phone, and turning it back on - but to no avail.
Is there any way to reset just the calendar app? It almost looks like its internal table that lists all available calendars is bugged...

I upgraded my iPod Touch 8GB to iOS 4.0 and I was getting the identical problem to afalk42. I was trying to sync using the Microsoft Exchange option to my Google Apps personal domain account. This was flawless under OS version 3.
I tried to restore from a previous backup via iTunes but the problem was still evident.
I performed a factory restore via iTunes and then before restoring from my backup, checked that the unit was still iOS 4.0 (it was), and configured again for Exchange sync.
This worked perfectly- the 4 calendars from my Google apps account were all visible and sync'd.
I then initiated a restore from my last backup, leaving the Exchange configuration I just tested that worked configured. The unit restored, then auto-restarted as it was supposed to. When it came back it re-installed all my apps and music from iTunes as part of the post restore sync (took a fair while), but I stopped it syncing the movies I had, for the moment.
When it all came back, the Exchange settings I had set after the factory restore but before the restore from backup remained intact and still functioned.
So I am now happy it is all working, but what a pain!

No suggestions. Sorry. But to share the pain. 4 must be the Vista of Apple. Since upgrading my 3gs gets physically very warm, which never happened before. I can't leave the phone charging connected to my notebook via a USB cable, which I could always do before: the phone actually drains. The multitasking feature is lousy: every app I run stays on, I can't control what is running unless I physically turn off the app, which is a design defect. How do I return the phone to the old OS unless and until Apple gets its act together?

If the backup and restore takes place properly, you shouldn't have any issue as millions of people have done an update from iOS 4.

Ios4 upgrade and now my 3GS has lost 3G

Am I the only one who upgraded to ios4 on my 3GS and now do not have any 3G connection? Everything else works fine but if I'm not at a wifi spot it is just an iPod that I can make calls from? Getting frustrated and don't know what to do. Please help

Not unless you don't have EDGE or GPRS access which is slower for internet access but if you don't have access to either one you won't be able to make calls either.
If no change after turning Airplane mode on and off, powering your iPhone off and on, and/or an iPhone reset, try resetting network settings on your iPhone. This will also delete all wi-fi network settings.

That's because Apple is no longer signing v3.1.3 nor any firmware other than iOS4. You could try following a downgrade to v3.1.3, see these:

Thank you for your question. iTunes 11.1 is required to update to and sync with iOS 7. If you are still running iTunes 10.6.3, I recommend trying to obtain the update by going to the iTunes menu and selecting Check for Updates.

Just did. Uncheck sync photo check box and sync. Then check sync photo check box and sync. Solved.

A 2G can only go to 4.2.1. Requires iTunes version 10.X. That requires a Mac with OSX 10.5.8 or later. With 1OSX 10.4.11 you can only go to iTunes 9.X which gets you as high as iOS 4.1
A 3G to 5.1.1 Requires iTunes version 10.5 or later
A 4G to 6 Requires iTunes version 10.7 or later. That requires a Mac with OSX 10.6.8 or later

Upgraded from ios4 to ios 6 and lost all apps i had downloaded and some photos?

I upgraded an ipad2 from ios4 to ios 6 and once all was done, all my apps, purchased and free ones were gone - and some of my pictures. Any idea? I do not dare doing another "resore backup" ... Any help?

A few comments:
You will eventually be able to retrieve all your apps. You will be able to go to the App Store on your iPad, click "Updates" in the lower right, click "Purchased" and re-download them from there (but be careful - download them one at a time).
It sounds like the reason the photos and apps did not appear is you may have run out of memory on the iPad. The new iOS offers more features, and is somewhat bigger than the old. Check Settings > General > Usage and see how much space you have left and what the big space consumers are. You should do housekeeping to get an absolute minimum of 10% of the space on your iPad free. For example, if you have a 16GB iPad, you would need absolutely no less than 1.6GB free.
You said "I do not dare doing another restore ...". On the contrary, you should update your iOS at every opportunity to avoid these giant updates such as you just did. You went from iOS 4 to 6, which means it's been over a year and a half since your last update. If you did them more frequently, they would be less dramatic.

It is 99% hacked/jailbroken iPhone to use a different carrier than intended. You have to put the sim from the original carrier or ask them to unlock the iPhone. We as well as Apple cannot help you with this.

I've just upgraded my ipad2 from ios4 to ios7 using itunes. After the upgrade it asked me to do an initial setup(which I did) and then it asked me to connect to itunes for a restore. after the process ran, the ipad restarted. This is where all my problems started.
After the restart of the ipad, i am again at the same step and this time, in the itunes, i get this warning message: "The iPad "myipadname" could not be synced because this computer is no longer authorized for purchased items that are on this iPad" and then it continues "To authorize this computer for items purchased from the iTunes Store, choose Store > Authorize This Computer."
As mentioned in the warning message, i went ahead and authorized the computer. It then says that "the computer is already authorized" and then is throwing me in the never ending loop. I already spent lot of time on the net and it took me no where.
Please guide me
