Feedback on ACS licensors, Datalogics or Bluefire

Hi,
I need to license Adobe Content Server.
According to Adobe, I should address either Datalogics Incorporated or Bluefire Productions. Neither seem to have very active public communication on the web (Bluefire's blog's last post is more than 2 years old, their last twitt is 2 months old and they were not that active before that either; Datalogics have neither a blog nor a twitter account). Comments on how it is working with either are not easy to find either.
Anybody here have any experience dealing with them?

I'm a bit surprised that you report the resellers as non-communicative.

Embed Adobe Reader in custom Android (or PhoneGap) Application

We have a need to embed PDF reader in one of our custom built Android (or PhoneGap Plugins) tablet application. Embed meaning is not just display pdf document inside the application instead we have to tap the following API functionalities programmatically:
1)       Retrieve pdf document meta data i.e. Page Size, Author, Date Created
2)       Tap next and previous page click and implement our custom handler code
3)       Zoom, Pinch, page swipe etc.

We have tried the above mentioned libraries and below are our experience
Mozilla’s Pdf.JS – It is a JavaScript solution and exposes API for all of our need but fails to render the PDF for some cases whenever some special embedded font is missing and in such cases the application crashes. Other than this single issue it very promising and superb. Still it is in beta stage.
Android Pdf Viewer Library – We have built a Custom Intent (PhoneGap Android Plugins) but it is very slow and fails in many cases. We felt PDF.JS is much better than Android Pdf Viewer Library
Radaee.pdf – Currently exploring. The Knowledge base is very poor and not enough samples to move forward
Foxit pdf viewer library – Unable to download the SDK from the URL they sent in the email after registering with Foxit. Though the link says PDF SDK but it downloads only the pdf reader. We sent an email to their sales team and awaiting their response.
The Adobe Reader Mobile SDK – SDK is not available to download, one need to get it through their re-sellers. We sent a request to them and awaiting for their callback

Is there an sdk for Adobe Reader iOS?

Hello,
We have a very simple use case of viewing (just view) the pdf files within the mobile app for both iOS and Android platform. Can you please advise on if Adobe Reader Mobile SDK serves the purpose or if any solution(s) exist either from Datalogics or Bluefire or Bsquare? We are exploring various pdf toolkits and are finding some limitations with these. We would like to stick with Adobe mobile SDK (or any of thextension solutions) that meet our buisness need.

ACS 4.2.1 on Win 2008 Svr - CSMon conflict with WMI

Hi all,
I currently have 4 servers running ACS v4.2.1 on Windows Server 2008 sp2 (no R2). This operating system is supported according to Cisco documentation. However, there are several Windows event log errors. I want to focus on one issue. The CSMon service occasionally causes the WMI performance adapter service to crash. The service is set to manual. It seems to only occur one time after a reboot then doesn't happen again.
The error generates a message to the server monitoring group which required some action to occur. So we would like eliminate the error if possible.
Any feedback from Cisco or other would be appreciated. Thanks.

Secure ACS 4.1 won't let me "Local Admin"

I have 2 fresh out of the box Windows 2003 Servers/SP2 on Sun Platforms that I have installed 4.1.1.24 and then upgraded to 4.1.4.13.
Once installed and I finish the installation I have the service start and the Admin interface come up in a browser.
I get the following screen message:
Invalid Administration Connection.
This machine cannot be used for administration.
Contact the System Administrator for access.
The url is http://127.0.0.1:2002 and then the port number jumps all ever the place and screen refreshes with the same information. I have added the loopback address to trusted sites in IE 7.0 and even tried Firefox. I have tried running a script from the TAC to allow allow local logins and also shutting the CSAdmin and CSAuth down and restarting. I am running Java JRE 1.6.0_07. Now the odd thing is that I can reach the server from my workstation with the ip:2002 and I get the ACS login screen but I cannot login as nothing is set yet. The only thing I haven't done yet is actually add the servers to the Windows Domain but I can't see where that is necessary and the Cisco Documentation isn't clear on that.
I would appreciate any feedback or suggestions especially from the SME's here.

The problem was NVIDIA ForceWare Network Access Manager. That came loaded on the Sun Server we are using for ACS. I found references to it in the even logs and not being a Windows Server person I had to grab someone who was and to be honest even they didn't get it. I started uninstalling any virus and security S/W one at the request of the TAC and removing NVIDIA Forceware did it.

Patch rollup for Cisco Secure ACS 4.2 fails.

I've got 2 freshly installed ACS 4.2 for Windows servers and I need to apply the latest patch rollup before I build the configurations. I stopped the ACS services and ran Acs-4.2.0.124.15-SW.exe to install the patches. The application begins running fine but fails on upgrading the database and then none of the ACS services would start. I was able to restore the files from the backup that runs with the patch utility and get ACS functioning again. What am I missing - does the patch rollup require any specific Microsoft Patches to be installed or something like that?

Thanks for the feedback. I attempted the patch rollup install again and it failed in the same place - on the database upgrade. I did think of one thing. Do I need to have my antivirus/protection services disabled prior to installing the rollup?

Second format seems better to all. For me second is better as well.
If I'm searching for exact phrase which I know should exist in
databases, -searching through main search page. If not, digging deeper
in a particular product/knowledge area.
I'm very familiar with NI many years, so having bookmarks and using them
more often. Search page should not contain many selectors with huge
number of items to select. Never using them. I see that it's more
convenient to the DB developer, but need fastest access to particulat
product area very fast. So keeping one input text box is more clear and
convenient for the beginning. Advanced search seldom using. Depends on
question, though, what to use - search or expanding tree-like navigation
to product page.

In our Company ACS will be used for 802.1x authentication, and is quite important.
So we would like to fully manage this Cisco-Device with Cisco's element management tool available (LMS)!

Cisco Prime LMS is not designed to manage appliances like the ACS. ACS is not on the LMS supported device list and I would doubt that it would be as LMS's functions are mostly not applicable to the appliance or software running on it.
You can use ACS as an authentication source for LMS, but authorization is still role-based according to the local accounts on the LMS server.

Adding WCS server in ACS for AAA

I tried to add WCS into ACS server and I have done the all the required configuration but still WCS is unable to authenticate thro ACS. There is no passed or failed auth report on ACS for WCS users. Can you guide me on how to fix it?

New ACS appliance not showing FQDN hostname in GUI

I've installed two new ACS appliances in our environment running 5.3. I've just configured the basics to get it on the network (ie DNS, default GW, IP address). Looking at both running configs, they are identical with exception to the IP addresses. On one appliance in the GUI next to the user name in the top right hand corner, the hostname is "acs01". In the GUI on the other appliance, it shows "acs02.corp.mycompany.com". This is a minor issue but its bugging me. Anyone have an idea what is going on?
In both appliances, this statement is identical in the show run:
ip domain-name corp.mycompany.com

So you are using a hardware RAID5 in storage pool as a hard disk. Now you added one more hard disk to the RAID5 with the tool "Dell Server Administrator" but it is not recognized in storage pool.
I think it will not work as hard disk size cannot be changed after storage pool is created. It is by default.
However why you use the hardware RAID in a storage pool? A hardware RAID seems enough for your storage requirement.

ACS 5.4 experiences?

I'm planning to upgrade from ACS 5.3 to 5.4 in a couple of weeks in order to take advantage of the IPv6 support. Is there anyone running 5.4 that can provide any info on 5.4 experiences/issues/caveats, etc? Thanks!

There are a couple of points that should be taken into consideration before upgrading:
(taken from release notes)
If you have either ACS 5.2 or ACS 5.3 installed on your machine, you can upgrade to ACS 5.4 using one of the following two methods:
•Upgrading an ACS Server using the Application Upgrade Bundle
•Reimaging and Upgrading an ACS Server
You can only perform an application upgrade bundle, on either a Cisco appliance or a virtual machine, if the disk size is greater than or equal to 500 GB. If you have a smaller disk size, you need to reimage to ACS 5.4 followed by a restore of the backup taken in ACS 5.2 or ACS 5.3 version to trigger the upgrade.
When you upgrade from ACS 5.3 to 5.4, it is mandatory to install ACS 5.3.0.40.8 prior to the upgrade or the upgrade may fail. If you use the version prior to ACS 5.3.0.40.6, then you might hit an error and the upgrade will not proceed. Note that ACS 5.4 does not include all fixes that are included in 5.3.0.40.8. Therefore, if any of these fixes in 5.3.0.40.8 are required in your deployment, then you should install patch 5.4.0.46.1 after you upgrade to ACS 5.4.

FWSM user and administrator multi-contexts authentication under ACS radius

Hi,
Im preparing the setup of an ACS radius server for FWSM-related authentication operations.
FWSMs will be in release 2.2, inserted in Catalyst 6500 (MSFC IOS), in routed mode, in multi-switch active / standby setup, with multiple contexts configured.
User and administrator access management will be performed thanks to a radius ACS server.
I intend to install ACS onto an armored windows 2000 server SP4 , using a local database.
PDM 4.0 is needed in order to manage multiple-contexts on FWSMs.
Are there any points I should be aware about such a configuration, especially regarding the user and administrator authentication access management setup ?
The fact is that administrators will have to be defined and restricted to their own context, without privileges onto other contexts. Do you have feedback about such a setup or relevant information to point to me ?

Each of the contexts will behave like individual firewalls for your purposes here. So, they each get a AAA config, and you could put them into their own groups for access control. Protect the Admin context especially well, it controls system resources for the others. Depending on how many FWSMs you have, you may want to look into the Pix MC, which is similar to PDM, but works for multiple FWSMs. It is a part of CiscoWorks VMS.

Azure ACS & Office 365

Hello, i'm using Azure's ACS and I've added Office 365 to be an IdP.
When the user chooses to sign in into my application using Office 365 credentials via the Office 365 login portal, I get the following error message from office 365.
ACS50001: Relying party with realm 'https://<namespace>.accesscontrol.windows.net/' was not found.
May I check what I should do to resolve this error?

It is the message from ACS Error Code for this error:
ACS50001
400
Requested relying party realm '<Realm URL>' is unknown.
There was a mismatch between the AppliesTo given in the token request and the realms you have configured in ACS. Check that: 1. Your relying party has its realm configured correctly. You can do this through the Management Portal or using the Management Service,
by looking at your RelyingParty.RelyingPartyAddresses entries. 2. Your relying party has been associated with the identity provider. You can also do this from the Management Portal or using the Management Service, by looking at your RelyingPartyIdentityProviders
entries.
I see you also post the thread in Office 365 forum. I think it is better place for help, because I don't have office 365 account. Hope they help.
Also I see some threads mentioned, it may be caused by the upper case in realm, so try with all lower case.

ACS Report - User_Usage_Logon - not returing any data and the report never finishes

i'm trying to run the User Usage report, but not getting any data output.
i tried to open the report in the report builder to check the query,, but the query is in XML format and i'm not able to figure out the actual query that pulls out the data.
i need help on the below :
1. way to check , if the ACS database , does actually have any data.
2. to pull out the actual query from the XML data.

As we only have one report experienced this timeout issue. Given this situation, we can try the following steps to narrow down the issue:
1.Run the report directly through SSRS report manager URL to test if we still get this issue.
2.If yes, increase the timeout limitation for this single report.
3.As for further investigation, we can enable SSRS verbose logging by referring to the following steps:
Enabling verbose log in Reporting Services Instance :
To enable the verbose logging for the Reporting Services instance you have to follow below steps.
Go to location
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS11.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportServer\bin
Find the ReportingServicesService.exe.config
file, make a copy first, and then open it in editor and change the below configuration.

You have to restart the Reporting Services from Reporting Services configuration manager.
4.After enable the verbose logging, reproduce this issue again by running the report, record the timestamp when we start the report, when the error popped up.
5.Then check SSRS log files at the following path, in the file which contain the issue time, check if there is any error message.
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS11.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\LogFiles
