Using vista & CS3 web premium for my web page http://lapinelarts.com
I would like to find an extension that will allow feedback of certain aspectas of my web page. For example:
Recommendations from vistors for custom furniture types
Feedback on the story submissions
Feedback on the web design
I have received some nice advice via e-mail that has helped but I would like to prompt mor vistors to participate.
Any guidance would be appreciated.

How comfortable are you with HTML forms and server-side scripting development?
If not, maybe consider using a service like http://wufoo.com/ to create/manage/run an online form to collect such information for you.

Adobe Feedback Survey - Bug?

I was just asked to participate in the Adobe Photoshop (CC) feedback survey via (within the app). I answered 4 questions about type of work, number of employees etc. I clicked "done" (or whatever term was offered) and the dialog window was dismissed. I tried to open an image file and the same survey dialog window reappeared -with the same 4 questions I had just answered. When I dismissed it again, my file did not open, and all pulldowns, options, etc. were grey. Could not end this cycle & was forced to force quit. No other questions were offered.
I'm running PShop 14.0 x64
on a Mac tower 2.8ghz quad OS 10.6.8
BTW- I have responded to similar surveys in the past. Always surprised that there is never a category for "Photo Retoucher" and/or "Digital Artist" -which I have been professionally since beta testing Photoshop 1.0

Thanks for the reply. All I recall is that 4 questions were asked, type of business, number of emplyees, etc. I assume there were additional windows/questions to follow, but they did not appear. It didn't occur to me to dismiss via help.

I need to know how to permanently disable that annoying survey popup that appears about every 10 minutes. I've taken the survey twice.

If it is a "Feedback" survey from Mozilla, disable the '''Feedback''' extension.

Bex not showing the Exact decimal values

Hi,
I have a situation here where I created a formula variable Average. I have declared that formula with the help of one replacement path variable.
Now My question is when i execute the query, I am seeing the values for that formula varibale but these are getting rouding off.
let say if I the result of the formula varibale is 3.2 it is rounding off to 4.
formula variable is 2.8 it is rounding to 3.
I have checked the query properties by putting the decimal places, but still it is showing the same. I have also gone through the forums and I understood that we need to maintain values in T006 or goto SPRO and maintain Unit of measure there you have to give No of decimals. But here my question is what UOM i need to consider because its just a formula which contains numbers 3, 4, 5 and it is calculating on those. those values are nothing but the feedback survey results.
can anyone let me know how should i procced with that. whcih UOM should i consider and also what is the ISO code to be maintained? or is there any another solution for my problem where i can see the decimal places.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think it's really rude when people send emails with wording such as "Please don't reply to this email – it's been automatically generated by our computer. If you need to get in touch, please use the contact links below."?
You can pretty much guarantee that none of the contact links will cover the subject of the original email. The impression it gives to me is one of a company that likes to tell me whatever they want, but isn't remotely interested in what I think as a customer.

Open Question to Adobe - Why Should I Stay?

Okay, there are now thousands of posts complaining about Adobe Creative Cloud. There are over 31,000 signatures gathered in protest. So far, Adobe is eerily silent. So I am asking Adobe, why should I stay with you? Why? Why should I use Creative Cloud at $600 a year when I have been updating my Creative Suite about every other year for $700 (that's $350 per year)? Why should I stay with you when you do not seem to be responding to your customer's complaints? Why should i stay with you when you act as if everyone is so very happy with Creative Cloud and you seem to be ignoring the uproar as if it is not even happening? Why should I stay with you when you act more and more like a monopoly that is strangling its customers? I am a professional that has used your products for almost fifteen years. Why on earth should I stay with you?
Others are invited to post but I am curious if Adobe will ever respond to this.

Do you know a little bit of marketing rules?
Do you know, how difficult it is to bring some one to action - espec. protest?
Do you know about the % returning of feedback surveys (compareable... = 2-5 %)?
(Believe me and follow regarding blogs: That are many more than 33.000 protests - no question)
These subscribers in the last Q are because they spared all their new features to their "great CC day" on June 17th and because the discounts for CS6 users will end soon.
These numbers (and in my eyes they are anything else than good) are a result of their forcing evil plan.
They will drop down in August, when their are no longer discounts for CS6 users. We will see.
Also let´s wait on the numbers, when they have to rise prices, and there is no longer income from CS6.

If you think, there will be no users who will replace Adobe with competitors - I´m one of them.
Always was working parallel with QuarkXPress (and I like a lot - faster than InDesign - espec. in case of big documents (lots of text)). Also OWN the lifelong Right to use my Apple Video solutions (and thinking about investing to Avid now). My FreeHand still is running (also faster than Illustrator - even it is so old) ang still good for 95% of Vector Graphic. In case of Web-Design I have no great problem - Flash is slowly dying and competition is given. The only App not 100% replaceable is PS. But if it´s necessary, my MasterCollections will work the next 10 years on their actual MAC PROs (or virtualization). There is nothing I´m missing of their overwhelming solution.
If I would estimate: CS6 will become the WIN XP of Adobe. It will still survive over decades
(...or Adobe is bought by better managers after it´s end)

How do you like AppleCare

I am curious how other people feel about it. Consumer Reports always gives Apple the highest rating for tech support but they don't mention it's not cheap and the price has gone up quite a bit.
Apple Care seems to send me the feedback surveys whenever I have a good experience but never when things get screwed up so I always give them my feelings for all the support.
this is the note I sent in the last feedback
"I use Apple Care a lot and about half the time it helps and once in a while it really screws up things. I had one guy tell me to drag a file into my HD and it ruined my computer. I lost everything and it was for a minor little issue. I really hate to say it but most of the bad help comes from over-seas support. This may be because it's the middle of the night over there and their tired. The over-politeness is also extremely irritating. It seems sometimes they spend the whole time telling me how much they want to help without actually saying anything useful.
It's not just the over-seas support people though, a lot of the iTunes people are limited with there actual computing knowledge. You should make it easier for them to switch you to someone more knowledgeable,I get the feeling they aren't supposed to do it or it will reflect badly on them."

Keep in mind that you get a free year of hardware warranty with a new Mac. This is free support is part of what gets Apple high ratings for good support.
As you know, you have the option to pay for an extended AppleCare Protection Plan (APP) as well, which adds two additional years to the hardware warranty as well as free phone support for the entire three years of warranty. But this isn't something you have to do to get support; it's just an extended warranty. I have some more details about your warranty options in this FAQ.

Retaining active web links when distilling a PDF from PageMaker.

I have been using my Acrobat 4 since, well, forever, and as I only needed to produce PDFs for customer proofs and printing Masters. However, it was never any good at retaining active web links that were created in the original PageMaker publication.
Now however, I need to get involved in creating survey forms, so I decided to check out Acrobat 11 with a view to upgrading.
But I've had no time for forms as even with Acrobat 11 I am still unable to create active hyperlinks that remain active after distilling into a PDF. I am pretty sure I am doing it right in PageMaker by establishing a source & destination for the particular image or text I wish to use as the clickable link, so what am I missing?
And is Acrobat 11 a good tool for creating attractive and utile customer feedback surveys that I plan on making available on my site?

I just made test PDFs from Pages 2 & 3 on Snow Leopard & Pages 4 on Leopard 10.5.8 (I don't have earlier versions of iWork installed on my G5 iMac with Leopard) & the links all remained active & opened the designated page in Safari each time. The only suggestion I have is to make sure you have the link set as a hyperlink before exporting as a PDF.
