Feedly Extension Will Not Install. Solutions?

Apparently some aren't having any issues with the extension installing (see the dates of the reviews on the extension page) but I am. It installed perfectly fine on Firefox 21 previously (more issues with this later though). Now in FF 22 it no longer installs.
What happens is regardless of method (either installing directly from the extension page or from the add ons console built into FF) the extension will not install. I download the extension, it prompts me to restart. I do so, only to come back with the inability to even locate the button for the extension. It is listed as installed in my extensions overview BUT I can still click the install button on the Feedly extension page (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/feedly/). Afterward it "installs" again but with the same problem as before.
I even went back to FF 21 to see if it would work again but it was to no avail now I'm really confused.
No matter how many times I try (complete removal / reinstallation of FF didn't help) the extension just will not install. Is this fixable?

Thanks, I haven't thought to try older versions (why I don't know, silly me). For whatever reason 16.0.500 works fine but 16.0.528 won't install properly.
Well either way I've got the extension installed and updated, really appreciate the help even though you fixed it inadvertently ;)

  • Downloaded calendar extension will not install

just downloaded Light Date Picker Calendar for Dreamweaver CS6 (not CC).  Extension manager CS6 says invalid.  Will not install.  How do I get a refund if this is not valid?

It is not compatible with CS6, as per compatibility window on the add-on homepage.

  • Dreamweaver extensions will not install

After some recent updates to the Adobe CC apps, my Dreamweaver app (as stated in the install that some extensions would have to be reinstalled), in particular the Extension Manager CC, will not reinstall my extensions.  And these are necessary since they are my menu extensions - I cannot modify, add, etc. without them.  I get an error message from Extension Manager that Dreamweaver 6 or higher is needed for this extension.  I checked, this Dreamweaver version is 15.  So what gives?
I tried going through and removing preferences, even found Extension Manager C6 still installed - so removed that too.  I need some advice on what to do.
    Thank you.

I am sorry about this new topic, I posted this problem in another's topic because I didn't know how to start a new topic.  Duh, found the pencil icon today at the top to start a new discussion.
Updated today in that topic that I had uninstalled and reinstalled Extension Manager (7.3.2.39) and still get this error:
As I said in other post, the current Dreamweaver CC is version 15.  The above picture was just taken, after another uninstall/reinstall of Extension Manager 7.3.2.39.
Scratching head - and can't afford to lose any more hair!
Thanks for reading - - Tom

One other note and I don't know if it means anything...  When the above dialog is dismissed by hitting "OK" the Extension Manager app shows.  On the left column are many Adobe CC applications but missing is Dreamweaver.  Is this an issue?  Or is it because on extensions have been installed.
FYI - I've tried the many suggestions on curing this problem (thank you all very much) to no avail - with another issue that popped up in Dreamweaver that its not saving my server info when quitting the app,  Have to replace all them (ID & PW) for all my sites I manage.  My solution at this point is to keep Dreamweaver running all the time.  That works but there will be a time when a restart or shutdown will come about.  The info is no big deal to replace, but the big thing is I've never had to until this recent update of DW.  Sounds like I'm ******** about DW, no I'm not.  It is just a small annoyance that is causing extra time when doing my web maintenance daily and adds to that time - which already is being taxed to the enth degree.
I'm sure i've maybe upset some of the regular forum users since I've had to learn the forum's intricacies - mostly about how to post a new topic.  Please forgive my ignorance on that, as I posted in another's question about my problem since I couldn't find how to start a new one (which is now a "duh").
Hope Adobe or my menu software people can figure this out.  I lean towards a DW issue since it arose after the last update (of course that could still be an incompatibility with my extension.
I am trying to find a work around to make modifications to my menus.  My other system is experiencing the same issue (as noted above in previous message) although I could swear I had not updated DW on it.  Will get to that when I have some time to look into it.
Do not know how to make changes to these menus without the extension being active even though they're javascript (I believe).
Hope some of the brainiacs here can assist.  Thanks in advance.

  • HT201375 Has anyone found a solution to the "Mavericks will not install new fonts" Issue? Has apple even admitted it yet?

Question is simple enough, Oh and by the way, my system is NOT what this forum page has decided to tell me that it is (no way evident to change it).

    Hi Arthur,
Thanks for taking the time to reply.
    1. I am glad your Mavericks doesn't have the problem. I am sure there are a lot of Mavericks out there that don't have the problem, and yes, you are correct, I, along with ALL of the other people that are complaing of this problem all over the internet, including this support forum itself, are having problems with our own Mavericks installations.
    2. Agreed, Apple doesn't have a good track record of admitting to the bugs in its Operationg Systems, but don't worry, Microsoft is just as bad. Technology is about making money after all.
    3. Thanks for the instructions for updating my profile.
    4. I took the precaution of removing all of my data from this machine. and wiped its harddrive.
I did a fresh install of Snow Leopard (the OS it came with), upgraded to Mountain Lion, and then upgraded to Mavericks before doing anything at all to the machine, and before installing anything on it.
So with this Fresh, brand new install of Mavericks (I dont trust upgrades - for good reason) I installed Open Office, Adobe Creative Suit CS6, Google Chrome, Filezilla, Firefox and Thunderbird, and Microsoft Remote Desktop client.
    That's it.
The font that will not install is any of the fonts from the Univers family.
We have had this font in our office for the seven years I have worked there. It installs fine on all Macs from Tiger (10.4) to Mountain Lion (10.8) (I have just finished tesing this on a number of these machines).
We have one other mavericks machine but this font was already installed on it when it was upgraded from Mountain Lion to Mavericks so it works.

This is a lot more information than has been provided by almost all of the other posts on all the forums I have been reading about this problem, and most of the posts have a lot of people chiming in saying,
"It works fine for me, so it must not be a problem".
Not a lot of help has been forthcoming for the others in this same situation that I have been reading of, and most are resorting to Third Party Programs in an attempt to get fonts installed, all with varying degrees of success.
I am not willing to use a third party program to do something the operationg system should be able to do itself.
I have tried pasting the fonts themselves into all of the various fonts folders in the OS, to no avail.
I will be very interested to hear what you make of the information I have supplied.
Thank you again for your reply. I look forward to hearing back from you.

  • Safari 6.01 on Lion 10.7.5 will not install extensions.

I have Lion 10.7.5 with all updates, Safar 6.01 as well.  It will NOT install any extensions. I get the message "An error occured while installing this extension." I have repaired permissions, rebuilt launch services. It does not matter what extension, same result.  I have even reinstalled Safari to no avail.  Any suggestions from the wonderful minds out there?  Thank you in advance.

I have even reinstalled Safari to no avail.
The only way to reinstall Safari on a Mac running Lion or Mountain Lion is to reinstall OS X using OS X Lion: About Lion Recovery
You mentioned that you have v10.7.5 installed but I see v10.8.1 in your profile ??
Exactly which OS X is installed ???
Troubleshooting suggestions may be based on that information.

    hi guys,
what rraiszadeh      and hambros     said are correct.
go to your desktop, look for 'Macintosh HD' icon
    [double click]
    window opens.
    look for 'system'
    [double click]
    double click on 'Library'
    look for 'Frameworks'
click on drop down grey arrow.
    double click on 'versions'
    double click on 'A'
    double click on 'resources'
you will find 'WIDGET SIMULATOR' in there
    double click on it.
    NEXT,
Go to Application/Preview, then right clicking on Preview and selecting "Show Package Contents."  Then go to Contents/Plugins/Markup.
drag that icon into the opened 'widget simulator' program.
    VOILA!

Do you know how to use Computer Management?  This is going to be purposely vague because if you don't you really shouldn't do this.
Go into Computer Management, right click on Administator and click General.
Uncheck the Account is disabled box. It is also a good idea to set a password for the Administrator account since it has total unrestricted access to the system. Now you can log off your current account and you’ll see the Administrator account show up in the list of users.

    1. Create a file named "ExManLog.YES" in Extension Manager folder.
        Windows:
        1) Open command prompt as administrator;
        2) Change directory to "C:\Program File (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Extension Manager CS6"
        3) Run command
        echo > ExManLog.YES
        Mac:
        1) Open terminal;

  • Acrobat 9 Pro will NOT install (CS4 Design Premium)

Acrobat 9 Pro will NOT install (CS4 Design Premium)
Acrobat Pro 9 will not install (FAILED), although every other program on the CS4 DVDs did install properly.
I have followed the instructions, and have tried with no programs running, not even virus protection (which is an insane thing for Adobe to demand of a product being installed where the installation routine is expecting an Internet connection): FAILED.
I uninstalled my Acrobat 6 Pro, (a standalone Pro version that I had to have  a few years ago.) I uninstalled that working program knowing I had no idea where my original Adobe Acrobat CD is located, so I was essentially cutting myself off of Acrobat Pro if the Acrobat 9 Pro install continued to fail.
I reported this to Adobe support online.
I have followed the instructions to disable startup items and services, then tried the Acrobat 9 Pro install: FAILED.
At that point, I gave up installing Acrobat 9 Pro. I didn't have any more time to screw with it - I would re-visit the installation failure later.
Lo and behold, a client sent me a PDF file of a brochure, in an email, and I had to grab some text from it to put on his website (Done in Dreamweaver CS4.) Well, damn, now I'll have to go back and get that install to work...FAILED!
Suspecting a problem in the installation routine on the DVD, I decided to download the trial version of Acrobat 9 Pro. So, I did. It downloaded and installed without a hiccup, and I had Acrobat 9 Pro working for 30 days...
I did what I had to do, using the trial version, then figured I would re-visit the installation issue later, when I had a few hours to dedicate to all the hell of calling Adobe software support, handholding, maybe registry edits, multiple reboots, and multiple attempts at doing everything again, just so the support person would know that I did follow all the steps correctly to prove thw outcome is sill FAILED!
Oh crap, I got another PDF file. No problem, I thought, I don't need to edit the PDF, just read it. When I tried to open the file, Acrobat 9 Pro plastered a screen over the program - the screen saying my 30 day trial version has now run out, demanded a serial number, or quit. My CS4 serial number would not activate it, and so I had to quit, not even being able to read the PDF file.
So, I un-installed the trial version of Acrobat 9 Pro that had installed without a hitch and had worked flawlessly for 30 days.
Now I'm going to have to visit hell, and get the software that I paid hundreds of dollars for to work...
Please STOP and NOTE: Acrobat 9 Pro installed perfectly from the downloaded Internet version. What does that tell you? There are no operating system issues, no hardware compatibility issues  (which I knew anyway, as the OS and hardware is up to date.) Even more significantly, there is no issue with the Windows registry, or other versions of Adobe Acrobat that had been installed before in the machine. My conclusion was that it has to be a problem with the installation routine on the CS4 disks.
So, I spent an hour on the phone with Adobe personnel: software support, to customer service, to sales, to customer service, and back to sales. After software support came to the conclusion that I needed to UNINSTALL ALL OF CS4, and run a clean-up utility, I knew I had to try getting a new set of DVDs and hope the installation routine problems/bugs had been worked out.
After being batted back and forth by Adobe Customer Service and Adobe Sales, I finally got someone to agree to send a set of DVDs to me.
I got the DVDs. I tried to install Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro: FAILED
As I told the software support person, I do not want to un-install the entire CS4 suite. I have all of those programs working fine, and have about a dozen web sites within Dreamweaver CS4 painstakingly set up and active, and some of them are current projects that I am working on daily. I also have multiple extensions installed, and spent quite a bit of time getting all of those programs set up for my preferences and my work flow. I DO NOT WANT to uninstall the entire suite of applications to get Acrobat 9 Pro to install.
And the conclusion of the "sophisticated" Adobe Support Advisor as to what specifically was the instalation issue?
    Adobe Support Advisor
The module found no solutions to report for the selected log file.
If you continue to have difficulties with the application,
    please contact Adobe Support: http://www.adobe.com/support
    System Information :
    Operating System = Windows XP
    Locale = en
At this point, what I want is to know what registry keys to edit and which folder(s) to delete to eliminate previous traces of Acrobat. In other words, just exactly the tiny piece of the "clean-up utility" that I need to run in order to allow the *Y#^%@#&#(& installation routine to work for Acrobat 9 Pro. I have no intention of uninstalling Dreamweaver CS4, as that is my business livlihood, and I know that my Dreamweaver CS4 client files/sites could not be read by earlier Dreamweaver versions. Asking me to uninstall Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, InDesign, and Fireworks is insane. Your bad installation routine is not my fault, and you cannot expect me spend countless hours getting all those programs set up the way I want and with all my client/work files working correctly and all the extensions set up properly. So, if Adobe software support refuses to tell me what registry keys need to be changed, then I want Adobe Sales to send me a new, standalone version of Acrobat 9 Pro on disk.
    Dennis

I hit the same problem except I had a Reader X installed not a pro version.  For me the solution was to really make sure that nothing else was running.  I followed the steps from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2438651#reso2 the link is goofy so here is the pertinent text:

  • Apple Mobile Device Support Will NOT Install - Win 8 OS

I uninstalled EVERYTHING Apple...all folders, all apple software. I went through my computer and everything was removed. I did not go through the registry and remove anything so that may be where the problem is.
I looked in programs and features and there is no "Apple Mobile Device Support" installed.
It's as if it will not install, no matter what I do.
I think it may be a registry issue in Win 8 but not sure.
I have looked all over for a solution but to no avail. I uninstalled everything, reinstalled iTunes, I even tried to installed the .exe specifically for Apple Mobile Device Support and it rolled back, refusing to install it.  I have tried updating drivers. My iPhone does show up in Task manager as well.
    Under device manager, my iPhone
I follwed this >link< and did exactly what it said to do but still didn't work.
I have a feeling there is no solution to this one. Any other suggestions?   Is there a way to remove more apple software including in the registry?
I appreciate any feedback.  If anybody else has had this issue and have a proven method to resolve it, PLEASE share.
    Thanks again!

I have the same problem with Win7. Did uninstall so many times now I can do it in my sleep. I did one thing which seemed to work for a while. After I uninstalled itunes 11, I reinstalled the earlier version. That brought back the Apple Mobile Device Support feature. Then I updated itunes to the latest version. Then I get the same message about amds not the latest version and uninstall itunes etc...(evern though when I check amds IS the latest version). It's a merry go round. Can't sync my iphone 4s or iPad 3. I finally got rid of itunes 11.1.1. Guess I just have to sit back and wait for a while until the new version comes out or until someone figures out a solution.

My HP Pavilion p7-1297cb pc which is running windows 7 home premium 64 bit OS will not install any HP print drivers. All my windows updates are current, HP print and scan doctor did not fix it, I also tried MS fix it manager and did not work.  When I try to use my HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus installation CD or HP's download center, software almost installs, but says print drivers will not install.  Also, I tried using USB connection and windows tries to install software, but does not work.  Same for HP print driver support.   I tried installing 3 different HP printers I had and all had the same issue. Any ideas on why my system will not allow any print drivers to install?

    Hi rrfhp,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I understand none of the HP drivers will fully install.
I will be happy to help you.
Are you signed in as the Administrator of the computer?
I would turn off all start up programs to make sure there isn't something blocking the printer.
Click on start, in the search box type in run, enter, then type in msconfig, click OK.
    Click the Services tab.
Click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box.
Click Disable All, and then click OK.
Then click on the start up tab at the top.
    Click on disable all.

  • Hp officejet pro 8610e driver will not install in windows 8.1

the Hp drivers will not install from disc or online download.

    Hi @aggie62,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand that your HP Officejet pro 8610 driver will not install on Windows 8.1. I am happy to help!
    A few questions for starters:
What happens when you try to install the driver?
Do you see any error messages?
How is your printer connected? Wireless, Ethernet, or USB?
Are you able to make copies with your printer?
In the meantime, please try the following:
Uninstall the software. Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Clean boot the computer. How to perform a clean boot in Windows.
Disable any antivirus programs. How to Disable Antivirus in Windows 8?
Disable any firewall programs. Windows Firewall from start to finish.
Create a new user account. Managing User Accounts and Logins (Windows 8).
Re-install using the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows .
Hope to hear from you soon!
