Feel free to distribute the libraries

A while back you folks pointed out to us that the license language in the top of the library files effectively prohibited distribution.
You officially have permission to re-distribute the libraries. We will post new lib files with the correct language; however, that will take some time as there have been updates and a Q/A cycle needs to be run against them.
In the mean time, please feel free to take the language at the bottom of this post, and replace the commented licensing language at the top of the library files with it.

How can I distribute the free version of Numbers, Keynote, and Pages using Apple Configurator

I am trying to use Apple Configurator to mamnge a set of classroom iPads. I have figured out how to purchase apps via the VPP account and distribute them, but I can't figure out how to distribute the free versions of Pages, Numbers, and Keynote. When I try downloading these apps on the Mac running Configurator, they show up as a paid version. Currently, I have to disable the option in Configurator that removes non-mamanged apps and then install the apps manually on each iPad. Does anyone have a better option than this. My hope was to be able to completely manage the iPads by simply pugging them into the Mac.

The apps is not only for iPhone 5c and 5s. its for all apple products that are purchased with iOS 7. I don't believe if you already have the product then update it to iOS 7 that the apps will be free. I believe that you have to purchase the product on or after the 18th since iOS 7 will already be on the products.
Edit...All compatible iOS 7 products activated on or after September 1st, 2013 will recieve the iWork apps for free. So yes he/she will recieve the apps

BUG FIX
Fix the timecode bug on frame holds. When frame hold is applied to a clip, the timecode displayed (program overlay) continues running. Worse : if this frame hold is trimmed from the beginning or the end, the time code shift... Making a conformation impossible !!
Fix the speed effect on clip. When a 400% speed effect is applied to a clip, it sometimes do 399.xx % speed effects. It's confirmed by precomp to an AE comp. AE is also showing a wrong value...
Lumetri FX is dissapering when a clip is precomp to an AE comp from Pr.
Missing font warning : when a font is missing, Pr does not tell which clip is concerned and simply replace with another font !

External Service of 5Equipments, how to distribute the cost to indv equip?

if external vendor come to repair the 5boiler (equipments) and invoice us the total cost (labor, material, flight charge, allowance, hotel, taxi). how should i distribute the cost into EACH boiler?
how should i create an order with 5boiler??

In addition, if there are more equipments under one Functional location & cost history is not required to capture at equipment level, then in Header Main Functional Location will be defined. In Object list, all the equipments will be defined. So that, it is possible to have link between equipments & operations.

You can see the Maintenance Orders report as normal. IW39 will not be a problem. There's a flag on the selection field (Incl Object List) to tell the system to look also in the object list.
Cost Distribution - I feel you can create settlement rule as per Object List equipments by mentioning % in that. For example, if there are 5 equipments, then define settlement profile with 5 different settlement receivers 20% each as per the equipment.
But this also updates only CO documents. But as per PM concerned, you cant distribute the cost.

Attn: Sun. Can we distribute the JRE with a program we write?

I'm trying to find out whether it's legal to distribute the JRE with a program I write. If you look at the license agreement when you download the JRE, first it has the regular license agreement, which says that you can't. But then it has the "supplemental" license agreement (and it says that this "modifies" the regular license agreement). In section 2 of the supplemental license agreement, it quite clearly states that you can as long as you don't modify it and you include some little messages in your documentation.
So I'm hoping to get an answer from someone who actually works for Sun. It seems pretty clear to me that we ARE allowed to distribute the JRE with a program, but people keep sending me emails when I tell them about it - saying things like "You can't program in Java because you can't distribute it."
What I want to do is have an installation program that installs my game and then installs Java (with Sun's JRE installer - this is included ONLY so that it can run my game, as stated in the supplemental license agreement). I should also mention that I do actually intend to SELL this program, so if that's a problem, please say so. Anyways, could someone from Sun tell me whether this is allowed or not? I don't want to break the law.

The JRE includes a readme file that explicitly states that distribution is permissible, given certain conditions. In particular, look at the 1st paragraph below:

Distributing the Flex SDK with another application

Hi,
I understand that the Flex 2 SDK is a free download from
Adobe, but am I also allowed to redistribute it?
For example, if I write a program where I need to generate
swfs dynamically, can I distribute the Flex SDK with the program,
so that all I need to do is generate SWF files and invoke the
mxmlc?

The name of the self-signed cert that is generated in the "Create the APK package file" step is sampleCert.pfx, but the name of the file in the next step is sampleCert.p12. This should be fixed.

Why so many 'free' apps in the itunes market arent free but just a trial?

Often I download a free app from itunes! so happy that the app is 'FREE' but it ends that the apps is not really 'free'. it is like somebody gives you a hamburger for free but you are aloud to give just a bite, for each additional bite you must pay $$. So not the all meal is free as written but just the first bite or trial.
But wait! many app are really free! so there are Free app free, and free app which are just a trial or limited and so on.
So isnt time to INTRODUCE just a 3rd category in the itunes? the TRIAL one. you cant call free an app that is limited and with the same name an app which is really and totally free. I feel cheated buy this. This sounds like a scam.

"free app" and "free download" are the same thing when it comes to the iTunes Store. In either case, you are not charged for obtaining and using the app with the features available at the time of download. Some developers offer a "light" version of their app with fewer features as a trial version since the iTunes Store does not offer time-limited versions. The developer then may either allow you to buy additional features as an in-app purchase, or require you buy a different version of the app to get the full feature set.
I don't know what else anyone can tell you. And being rude to those who have tried to give you the information you're seeking will not be a winning strategy for getting assistance here.

Tmpfs free space versus the "free" command

I've always thought this possible, so today I tried it:
I have 2 gigs of physical RAM, and no swap partitions, so my memory limit is a hard 2 gigs.
I made 2 1-gig tmpfs mounts; nothing complained.
I filled them up one at a time, and kept checking both free memory (with free) and free space on the tmpfs mounts -- as I started to get near the limit of my system's RAM, free still showed plenty of RAM free in the +/- row.
Neither free nor df gave me any indication that the system was dangerously low on memory. (I assume from a bit of Googling that "free" considers the size of tmpfs's to be part of the "cached" column, as nothing else was big enough to contain them.)
Anyhow, I added a few more files to the tmpfs and the system locked up for a while... After about 3 minutes of hard drive thrashing (which was a bit distressing, but since my files look OK I guess it was desperately running sync again and again to try to free RAM for the tmpfs), a couple programs died and everything went back to normal.
So, in an effort to have that not happen again (since I use tmpfs heavily; it's a nice way to screw around with big files without waiting on hard drives), I wrote this little shell script:

The advice I got was to shrink the database and reexpand it. And reindex all tables because of defragmentation.
I don't know if it works, and I would be hesitant to try it, because I believe there is an issue with DBCC SHRINKFILE being awfully slow when there is LOB data.
I like to believe that your odds would be better if you used varbinary(MAX), and given how easier varbinary(MAX) is to work with your life would be happier two. But I don't know how that would work with your merge-replication scheme. And if you use READ/WRITE/UPDATETEXT
you need to change that code.
You say you cannot create a new table and copy data over because of merge replication. Would it be possible to create a new column, copy data over, drop the old column and rename? I have no experience with merge replication myself, so I don't know of
the repercussions. If you do this, you need to run DBCC CLEANTABLE to get rid of the space.
For that matter you could try DBCC CLEANTABLE in the state you have now. Not that it should help from you have told me, but you never know...

Notifying someone that WL is about to die doesn't really help a lot, does it? All
they can do is kill/restart it before it dies on it's own.
I think your time would be better spent figuring out why you run out of memory
and fixing it. Check out JProbe.

Free downloads of the week not free???

Hi,
When I click the Buy Now for the Free Downloads of the Week, the song price shows it to be free.
But, when I go to my shopping cart, the price for the Free Songs shows up as $.99. When I click the Buy Now button, I get a message saying that the price of some items has changed and to check my purchase.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
Is there a setting I can change?

How do you free space on the startup disk

how do you free space on the startup disk

If your disk is 80% full that is normal. Time Machine uses up to 80% of the disk space for local snapshots. To get rid of these snapshots simply plug in your Time Machine backup drive and run a backup.
If you have less than 20% disk space then it is time to roll up your sleeves and search for what you can delete and what you can offload to another disk.
If you have less than 10 GB you definitely need to delete or offload some files. You may want to maintain at least 20 GB of free space so when your disk starts filling again it will have some room before it hits that 10 GB mark again. More headroom is better. If you let the space fall much below 9 GB you might not be able to boot your machine.
Initial easy steps to gain disk space:
- Delete all files in the Downloads folder.
- Empty the trash.
- Start iPhoto, empty its trash and restart the computer.
Deleting files:
Run a Time Machine (or other) backup since you are about to delete and move files and you may need to recover from any inadvertent mistakes or decisions. You will need one external hard drive for your Time Machine (or other) backup and a second one onto which you will offload some files.
Then use the free application OmniDiskSweeper http://www.omnigroup.com/more to explore your volume in descending order by size so you can attack the problem from the top down, deleting the largest unwanted files first. Delete with caution and do not delete any system files. Remember to empty the trash after trashing the files.
Moving files:
Consider moving some of the no-often-used large files or directories to an external disk. Use ODS again to find them.
As noted above this will be at least your second hard drive. Your first one(s) is/are for your Time Machine (or other) backup(s). Do not offload files onto a Time Machine disk.
Format the second drive as Mac OS Extended (journaled). Using OWS to find large files/folders and copy them from the system drive to the external hard drive and delete them from your internal drive.
Then  > System Preferences > Time Machine > Options… > Remove the offload HD name from the exclusions list.
Now both your system disk and your external offload disk will be backed up onto your Time Machine disk.

We have a query format that started with chacteristic company code, plant follow by key figures. We define 0material as a free characteristic in the query. Currently, users would like to schedule this query in the background with the format for company code, plant, 0material follow by key figures. Can we acheive it when we schedule the query in the background with free l characteristic 0material show in the format instead of creating another new report with additional characteristic 0material added?

Well if was workbook using a pre calcualation server we could have achieved what you desired..
I am afraid you would have to build a new Query with Material in column for your requirement
