Feel in the hand of 2 vs 3

Question

After playing with them side by side at Best Buy, I did feel like 2 was a little sleeker and more comfortable in the hand, and 3 felt a little more like holding a dinner plate. And I did notice the heat difference. I've been reading all kinds of arguments pros and cons about the heat, but I certainly did notice the heat on the #3 I held (of course it was left on for hours and handled by probably a dozen people, so that might have been a factor).

In real world holding, there's really not much of a difference between iPad 2 and New iPad.  New iPad is .03" thicker.  That's not something I can even tell with them side by side and we still have an iPad 2 in our household.  New iPad is slightly heavier, again something I simply can't tell between both devices in our house.  I haven't yet noticed my New iPad running hotter than my iPad 2.  Since you will likely put your iPad in a case (a really wise investment to protect your shiny device) the thickness and weight difference will be diminished in comparison to the weight/thickness of whatever case you buy.  Demo who wrote above has an Otterbox.  They are the best for protection, period.  THey also weigh the most.  My case is the Targus Versavu 360 for iPad 3rd Generation.  It too has some heft.  There are other sleeves/options, which weigh far less.
So, the real difference in iPad 2/New iPad is the incredible screen/faster processor4G (if you need cellular access).  Those are the biggies and trust me when I say they are well worth the price of admission.......
