I haven't used image swap for links in a long time so I guess
I'm a little
rusty. I have a button that I want to swap out 2 images when
rolled over. By
applying the swap image behavior twice, it does what I want.
However, the
image restore on mouseout will only restore the last image
swapped. How do I
get it to restore both images to their respective original
states on
mouseout?

Don't use the image restore feature. Do an explicit swap
onmouseout for
both....

When I plug the iPad for charge the battery I feel a little tingling in the fingers when I touch the Ipad's back side, Could it be a problem?

Cables can break due to flexing over time, especially at the plug. I've had that happen a couple of times. Very high chance that's the problem.
Can you try the cable with another device? Or borrow somebody's cable and try it with your iPad?
And for sure a genius at an Apple Store or at a retailer could test that for you no problem.

Feeling a little loney and left behind

Hi all
I have a DP2 G5 and only lately with all these new intel macs I'm feeling a little left behind,
Is the G5 still a performance machine or have we been left behind in the new intel mac wake?

I have a DP2.7 G5 that I don't plan on getting rid of any time soon.
Unless there is some great new program that one needs an intel Mac for I think you will find that most don't use their computers to even a fraction of what the device is capable of.
I've got another 18 months or so of Applecare left and I fully intend to run it until the end. Now that doesn't mean I won't hit the lottery or come into some sweet cash that I blow on a new Mac, but that is a different issue (:>)

HT201210 feeling a little lost. i was updating to new phone software now phone has gone back to new mode. it recognises my phone but wont allow me to ststem backup from itunes as it does not like the passwords i use as it says system restore already done

having problems with passwords since i upgraded software on itunes as phone gone back to configure mode but wont allow to restore from back up in itunes as it does not like passwords i use. any ideas to solve?

Feeling Stupid

Is anyone else wondering if Apple is offering any kind of trade-in specials for those who have the older version of the iPhone? One feels a little stupid having spent over $400 on a phone only to find out that less than six months later they have a phone that is being promoted as twice as good, twice as fast, for half the price. While I understand that technology advances, this is rather insulting - generally a newer model of an item would be priced higher in conjunction with the additional features. It also makes me seriously question whether my wish to buy a Apple computer is a sensible one; will I pay thousands for a computer now and find that, a few months down the road, you're selling a better model for less?

The new 3g phone is obviously being subsidized by AT&T (like most other cell phones). The plans are more expensive for the 3g. If you do the math, the first two years' cost of the new phone more expensive than the old one (at $400 + lower plan cost). You can argue that you're getting more with 3g ... but the fact is that it's still more expensive.
As for the technology ... welcome to cell phones. There will always be a new model that is faster, better ... and less expensive than the last one. It's like PCs back in the late 80s early 90s. The fact that the new one IS more expensive is actually odd if you look at palm/razr/etc by comparison.

Stupid Question of Day: about alert log

Hi All,
I feel a little stupid here.
I have noticed that when I go to EM home page my Alert Log has stopped collecting errors. Still pretty new here and not sure what to do. Need help with fix and if possible a reason on what I did wrong to have stopped it.

UPDATE: This had to do with a package body (FLOWS...MAIL) that needed re-compiled and therefore does not solve my problem. There is no real eror that points to this matter that I can see. I am newly testing Oracle and am not sure where to go for further info that would record what happened.

Purchased movie from Itunes wont sync with Iphone but rental movie will????

I purchased a movie from Itunes and it shows up in my library movies but it wont sync with my iphone. Before I bought the movie i rented a movie to make sure it works and I liked the format so I know that it can auto sync with the iphone. In they Sync section of Itunes under videos it only has 2 headings. Rental movies and TV shows. There is no option for Movies at all so it does not even come up to transfer it over to the phone like with the rental.
I have solved the problem temporarily but would love help on a proper fix. If I check the box manual merge music and videos on the summary page I can get the movie over by dragging it from the library and dropping it into the phone but it still does not show up under the video tab but is on the phone. This then deletes all my music and I have to manually sync that as well.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am using a mac book with an iphone and a move in Itunes that I actually paid for - from itunes. I just cant figure it!

I think the layout in sync could be improved for movies perhaps putting Purchased Movies right after Rental Movies. When I am on that tab, Rental Movies (I have none and it tells me so) and then TV shows are visible on the screen with lots of blank space under. I had to scroll down to find the movie sync option (which may seem pretty obvious - but with all the white space after TV shows, I didn't notice that the scroll bar had room to scroll further). Yes, I feel a little stupid (and grateful to you for making the solution so obvious), but I do think the tab layout contributed to my ineptness.

Random freezes-please, somebody, help me find a solution that works!

I feel a little stupid posting a new thread for what seems to be (at the moment) a rather common issue, but almost every related thread I've come across seems to pin the blame on different things, and I want to consolidate all that I know about what's going on in one place.
On January 5 I reinstalled Arch on the family computer in my house, and for the first few days it seemed to be working OK, but as I was getting everything installed and set up correctly, I started experiencing random freezes. Every package has been up to date since this was a brand new install, and the whole reason I was reinstalling was because the old setup was really messy and on a really old hard drive. The old setup didn't experience any of these issues, however, which rules out hardware issues (the current hard drive was in the system, it just wasn't used for /). The computer passes memtest86+ and mprime stress tests.
First, the problem(s): random lockups. These range from application lockups that still allow mouse movement, but not clicking, with the keyboard remaining accessible, to full X lockups which disable mouse and keyboard functionality. The former have only occurred a handful of times while the latter occur much more often. I don't have an ssh server set up on this computer to know whether it would respond to use that way, but my assumption is that, yes, it would. This seems to be a rather prevalent issue right now, but like I said, a lot of people identify different causes and workarounds/fixes only work for some people.
A few weeks ago I looked around and everything I was finding suggested it was a video driver issue. I was using xf86-video-ati, so I switched to xf86-video-vesa. Things worked fine for about a day (which, for the record, is not uncommon; the problem seems to come and go, as for about a week the computer worked fine and then today I had four lockups in a row) but then it started to hang again. It's not a video issue. It's not a hardware issue. It's either a Gnome/GDM issue or an Xorg issue, a combination of both, or something else that is conflicting with either of those three.
I found this thread about X hanging whenever one presses enter. My issue seems to match the user in this thread (with it's corresponding bug report), because sometimes it hangs when I press enter—but only sometimes. The majority of the crashes, by my estimation, have nothing to do with whether or not I press enter. Often I (or someone else in my house) will simply click something and everything will freeze.
Beyond this I cannot really describe much else. However, here is some additional info which might help diagnose the problem.
From Xorg.0.log.old:

.xsession-errors doesn't seem to contain anything worth noting.
When booting X also launches on tty2 instead of tty7. In the first few days after the install I seem to remember it launching on tty7 initially, but it's possible that my mind is playing tricks on me and this is not the case. If it is I do not know what accounted for the change. /etc/inittab is identical to the file on my personal PC which runs GDM and openbox, but which is experiencing no problems whatsoever, and X opens on tty7 on it (and which is also completely up to date). At post #13 in this thread there is a suggested edit for /etc/gdm/custom.conf, but it does nothing for me; X still opens on tty2.
GDM is the last daemon listed in /etc/rc.conf. I've tried loading the daemons before it backgrounded (with @) and also regularly (without), and neither makes a difference. The freeze often occurs when logging in or switching users, but I must emphasize that for the most part the lockups are completely random.
I am really hoping to find a fix, and the sooner the better, because 6 people regularly use this computer and constant freezes are unacceptable to my mind. I also fear that the exact same error has been occurring on my friends' business computer which I recently updated some packages on, since I've been getting emails about the computer locking up. Of course with that one I could simply downgrade everything I just updated, even though it'd be tedious to do so.

You know, I am pretty sure that the issue has to be with xorg. I was having this issue a lot a month ago, but then, a certain upgrade of xorg fixed the issue. I was fine for a few weeks. My computer never crashed. But, unfortunatly, a package in that same upgrade was broken and I ended up upgrading the system again a few weeks ago. xorg also upgraded at the same time. Now, my computer keeps crashing randomly and in random ways.
I think that the best thing to do is to keep up with the xorg updates, find one that works for your system and have pacman ignore all upgrades to xorg after that.
Actually, if anyone can tell me how to downgrade xorg to its state 3 weeks ago, it would be absolutely awesome.

Because if you use runlevel 5 you dont have agetty on TTY2 so it won't try and kill xorg all the bloody time
The problem is caused because GDM is starting so fast the XORG server it loads up checks for free VT's and finds TTY2 is empty and starts on it. THEN your inittab fires up agetty on TTY2.. which promptly causes hell to arrive in a handbag.
You really need to be less critical of people offering you advice.. and possibly even check what they have posted in the past.. like the threads from months ago dealing with this issue. (search is great you know)

Can't create a .war file....

and I write this instruction on the command line:

I suppose the root cause isn't at this level because when I write just the following

Opening a .Mac email using Safari

I feel a little stupid on this but, I configured the iPhone mail app for my girlfriend. Everything works perfectly as it should. I wanted to check my email and rather than re-configuring the mail app I accessed my .Mac account with Safari. Logged in no problem, can see the emails, no problem. My question is how to you open an email? There is no way to double click or no key to press to open the mail. Does anyone have an answer? No one at our local Apple Store could figure how to open them.

Sorry, the .mac web based email can be viewed by just clicking the email. The email window is split into two sections just the header information on top and full emails down below. If you click on any header youll see the email appear in the bottom half of the window.
Its a little easier to see in the portrait mode than it is in landscape.
You can also click the header> actions>print to open in a new window

JavaScript: Disabling textarea in report column cell depending on flag

I got an updateable report with the following behavior:
- Depending on the value of column "PFT_PCODE" (1 or 2) the column gets a yellow or red background color.
- If the value of column "PFT_PCODE" is 1 the next column (for remarks) gets a grey background color.
- Some flags get values set.
With the kind help of Andy (ATD) I got that running nicely. See also:

Now I want to add an additional feature:
- If a flag ('P11_SPERR_FLAG') has the value '1' then the column (remarks) (var j) should be disabled.

Anyone has an idea what's wrong with the additional code? I find debugging quite difficult in JavaScript...

I found the solution, it had nothing to do with JavaScript:
Item P11_SPERR_FLAG was of type Diplay as Text / Doesn't save state.
Without saving state the JavaScript wouldn't work.

Drop Frame vs. Non Drop Frame

I am a little confused about setting the option in FCP before capture for NDF/DF.
I read somewhere that all footage captured on DV is NDF, but I'm not sure if that is accurate. What if you don't know if something was shot in DF or NDF? Yikes!
I have some 24p footage and some 24p adv. that I will be importing into a 23.98 timeline (using Cinema Tools for the standard 24p footage). Later on I will be bringing in some "regular" miniDV footage (non-progressive, I guess interlaced) and whatever format I can get archival footage on - and I have NO IDEA whether that would be DF or NDF.
I was planning on capturing with the appropriate easy set-up options for each type of footage, but am wondering if the DF/NDF issue will cause a problem.
If I set the whole thing for NDF, and something was shot as DF, what might occur? Should I be scared since I have no idea which one I should go with?!

I know a bit about what happens with drop frame or non-drop frame, and that essentially for NTSC at 29.97 I can choose either DF or NDF, but I'm using a 23.98 timeline, not sure if that makes the answer different. I'm trying to extend my understanding of DF/NDF to think about what will happen if something was shot in DF but captured in NDF or vice-versa, and whether working in a 23.98 timeline will mean I should pick one over the other.
Also I'm not clear about whether my choice to keep the timeline DF or NDF will affect my output choice.
The embarrassing thing is that I was the shooter on a lot of my footage (mostly a Panasonic DVX100a, plus 6 hours on a DVX100) - never remember setting DF or NDF. oops. Also as I mentioned I have no idea what the archival stuff will be at, but I think I can import that into whatever I have my timeline set at --
sorry I'm still foggy about the implications of choosing DF or NDF for my capture setting, and which one I should choose.

IOS 8 safari copy paste problem

I have a iPhone 4S with iOs8
the problem is that when I copy a web address or text from safari
it can't be paste on other apps for example notes, mail, Facebook, Twitter or any one even the same safari.
the bug happen randomly.
some times the copy works but then what ever I copy stay there and when I used the copy and paste, the text pasted is the old one not the new copied

Can't find "Quote Original" button for Reply to a Post

When I went to reply to a post I wanted to use the same quoting format that I saw others had used. So I went to "Help & Terms of Use" to learn how to do this. The info given is: "If you want to quote specific text from the original message, click Quote Original to add all the text from the original message to the Message box." I could see no such button. So I replied without using the desired format and at the same time asked the person I was replying to about this. That person's reply back was: There's a '"' icon in the compose window when you type a reply. If I'm doing a lot of quotes (as I did here) I use that, then edit out the bits I don't want. Otherwise I copy and paste the text and add a > before the line to get it to appear in the special format.
I'm still mystified! I see no such button, icon or anything about "Quote Original" in the "Reply", "Compose" window. I also tried adding a > before the line, but nothing happened.
I was originally attempting this using the Firefox browser. To make sure the problem was not a Firefox glitch, I switched to Safari, with the same result.
How is "Quote Original" done? Where is that button?

It isn't there if you're in the Preview tab. Click the " once to get it to insert the text.

Thanks, Limnos (again!!). I wonder why the Help info doesn't just say what you now did. .... Click on the " in the formatting panel just above the compose window (rather than click on "Quote Original").
I do though feel a little stupid for not having clicked on everything that could possibly be clicked on. I'm now wondering what I was thinking those " marks could possibly be for since I do have the " key on my keyboard if I want to quote a phrase that I'm typing. I just was thinking that all those formatting items are for the typing of my reply and I didn't hold my cursor over each for the info box to appear. Oh well, thankfully, all my present posts are now solved. Thanks to you again Limnos.

Finding metadata in iphoto

Hi,
I'm trying to see the picture metadata (shutter speed, aperture, lens zoom) in iphoto. I have no problems getting to them in aperture 2 but all the information I can get from iphoto '09 is the type of file and the size. I'm trying to make a book in iphoto and would like to have that information printed by its photo. I've been trying to find some documentation that would give me some ideas of how I can do this, without having to switch back and forth between aperture and iphoto, but have not been successful. Any information you can give me will be greatly appreciated. thank you for your time.
