Fehler im Distiller vom Acrobat 9

Hallo zusammen,
Komprimierung?

Kerstin

  • Error using the distiller in Acrobat Professional 8 to create a PDF from an Aspose.Words .doc docume

    Hi,
We use Aspose.Words to create Microsoft Word (.doc) documents from one of our Intranet applications. These documents are then further modified in Microsoft Word and are then converted to PDF files using the distiller in Acrobat 8 Professional.
The distiller ends with a message saying it encountered an error and could not complete the conversion.
If we create a document directly in Microsoft Word and then use the distiller to convert it to a PDF, the distiller runs just fine.
Would you have any idea of what might be causing this problem? The distiller gives no indication of the cause of the problem, only that is one!
I also tried using the Create Adobe PDF Online service to convert the same Aspose.Words .doc file and it worked fine.
Any help you can give on this would be most appreciated!
    Thanks!

Thanks for your response. I mistakenly referred to the distiller.
We are using PDF Maker in Word. It appears as an icon on the Word toolbar once Acrobat Professional 8 has been installed. When I open the Aspose.Words .doc document in Word and click on the toolbar icon, PDF Maker launches and starts the conversion program and then Microsoft Word ends with their standard message "Microsoft Word has encountered an error and needs to close...".
I also tried going into Acrobat Professional 8 and chose File --> Create PDF --> From File off the menu bar. I selected the same Aspose.Words .doc document file to convert and once again the conversion process started, but this time it gave me the following error message:
    "Unable to convert PDF file.
Invalid page range or conversion setting parameters."
When I clicked on OK to clear the message, I got the following:
"Acrobat could not open 'xxxxx.doc' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).
To create an Adobe PDF document, go to the source application. Then print the document to Adobe PDF or use the Acrobat toolbar found in Microsoft applications."
I assume that since the on-line service can successfully convert this document, it is a supported file type and is not damaged (not sent as an email attachment, so no issue there). I tried opening the document in Word and printing it to Adobe PDF and that worked, but my users really like the convenience of the Acrobat toolbar so I would like them to be able to use it to create PDF files from Aspose.Words documents.
I am using all the default settings. Is there some setting I should be changing?
As I mentioned earlier, I did try the Create Adobe PDF on-line service with this same file and it worked just fine, so there seems to be a difference between how the on-line service does the conversion and how PDF Maker does it. Printing the document to Adobe PDF also works, so again, there must be some difference in the way PDF Maker does it.
Any guidance you can give me would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks very much!

  • Is it possible to call Distiller and Acrobat?

    Hey there again...
Following my question in http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1449735?tstart=0 , I need to use the 2 PSs I've made, convert them to PDF and concatenate both of them in a single PDF file.
What I need to know is:
do I need to go to Applescript to invoque Distiller and Acrobat?
Or is it possible in ExtensionScript to call Distiller and Acrobat to execute this?
If it is possible to do it in ExtensionScript how may it could be done?
    Thanks again for the help!!

No, you can’t do this in ExtensionScript. The only version where you can communicate with Acrobat from InDesign directly via ExtensionScriptis is InDesign 5.0.3, Acrobat 8.0.0 (tested in Windows XP SP3). Here is an example.
But it is possible to trigger an Acrobat JS from AS. I guess you can print two ps-files to Distiller’s hot folder.
Another script may monitor the hot folder on a certain interval, say, every minute: this can be done in AS. When the PDFs in the “Out” folder are ready, the Acrobat JS merges them saving it to another folder and deleting the original PDFs.

There are many different Acrobat-related products.
    Acrobat Standard
    Acrobat Pro
    Adobe Reader
LiveCycle (actually this is another separate enterprise oriented Acrobat family of products.
Acrobat Standard and Acrobat Pro will each install several software programs on your computer. One of which is Acrobat Distiller. Acrobat Distiller is a program that is used to convert postscript files into pdf files. Acrobat Distiller used to be the only way to create postscript files. Now many users never use Distiller to create pdf files, hence its prominence is deminished.

  • Adobe Acrobat Distiller Process. Issue with Font(L0420P not found, using courier)

    Hi Everybody,
We are working for upgrade activities, which involves moving applications from Windows 2000 to Windows 2003 Servers.
My applications uses Adobe Acrobat distiller, which is also getting upgraded along with the server from Adobe 4.0 to 5.0 (Installed licensed Adobe distiller).
I have been using Adobe distiller to convert .PS files into .PDF files. The conversion process requires the PSFonts such as (MB006, L0B, L0420P etc..), each font got a separate PFB and PFM extension files, which are kept in the folder name called "Psfonts" and has been included in "Font location" under Distiller settings.
Using Distiller( Adobe Acrobat distiller 4.0 ) in Windows 2000 didn't create any issues or error while converting .PS files into .PDF files, all the PDF files are generated by Distiller as expected and process without any Font issues.
In Windows Server 2003, I installed Adobe Acrobat distiller 5.0 and moved the Font Folder "Psfonts" from older server(Windows 2000 server) to the new server(Windows 2003) and started Adobe Acrobat distiller process(5.0) to convert .PS to .PDF, most of the .PS files gets converted into .PDF files but when .PS files which require the Font L0420P comes in for Distilling, it displays an error message as "L0420P not found, using courier".
I checked with the old Server's (Windows 2000) font folder (Psfonts), it has the same files(PFB and PFM) as present in the new Server(Windows 2003).
I tried to check the Particular Font name(L0420P) in Distiller-->Setting-->Job options-->Font-->Embedding-->Psfonts, but L0420P font alone is missing in the List.
Could you please help in resolving this Font issue.

You may like to try deleting the PsFonts entry from distiller and closing it. Restart the machine, make the entry of PSFonts agina and try creating PDF.

    Hi ratish,
Is Acrobat X working fine at your end? This problem could be related to "EULA" acceptance. You may have to manually accept that to make it work.
Another suggested would be to update Acrobat installation to the latest version?

  • How to specify version of Acrobat Distiller?

I am using FM9. I click File > Save as PDF and I get the message "To execute Save as PDF command, you must have Acrobat Distiller version 5.05 or higher installed". I have Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional, which includes Distiller. How can I direct FrameMaker to use this version of Distiller?

    James,
Is your Acrobat product installed somewhere else besides the default C:\Program Files\Adobe... etc. path? I've had issues with FM being finicky with older installations of Acrobat. Sometimes running the Repair (under the Help menu) option in Acrobat fixes this, other times a re-install. In some cases, spelunking in the Registry to clean out detritus from old Acrobat installations did the trick. The Adobe installers/uninstallers do a less than stellar job of configuring the products properly.
Another thing to check is, did you install the PDF Creator option that came with FM9? If so, this would have mangled the older Distiller from Acrobat 7? I'm also assuming that this is the stand-alone FM9 and not part of the TechComm Suite.

  • Can't get acrobat distiller to work.

Hi, I am at a loss and hope someone can help me.
I'm running windows xp, and am having problems with acrobat distiller, adobe acrobat 5.0.
I'm in charge of making a club newsletter in PowerPoint, and all that goes fine. I'm putting really good quality photo's in it and thats all ok too. But when I convert the document to a PDF with Primo (to view in adobe acrobat), everything else works fine, but all the images go really fuzzy, like a terribly poor quality photo.
I thought primo was connected with adobe, but have since been told that it isn't, and I need to use acrobat distiller (which is in my printers list), however, it doesn't work. It just says straight away that it failed to print
If I click 'find printer' it says the directory service is unavailable.
I've tried everything I can think of.

  • Acrobat Distiller Server 8.0 API problem

Hi im currently using distiller server 8.0 version 3016.102.
I would like to convert Post Script file using API from  ACRODISTXLib. File are not converting because of directory restrictions.
I know that i can omit using "/f" argument running application but what about API usage? Is there a way to bypass directory restrictions

    p.Create();

So far as I have ever heard, Distiller Server is technically identical
to the regular Distiller in Acrobat Professional, but with a licence
to run a single copy serving multiple users.
This means it has the same API and limitations, if true.

    Helge,
I have Acrobat-Distiller 9 Pro on Mac Leopard.
    1) If I use Distiller directly, it will show "pstack flush" messages as well as error messages
    in its own window.
    2) If I use Distiller via Acrobat and there are no problems, I can't see "pstack flush" messages at all.
    3) If I use Distiller via Acrobat and there is a problem, I get error messages AND
"pstack flush" messages in a TextEdit window.
Its header tells me about a log file but I can't find the logfile.
Perhaps I am too new to Acrobat 9, and need some experimenting with its setup.

  • Acrobat stürzt nach ein paar Sekunden ab

    Hallo!
    Reparaturinstallation -> unverändert
    Deinstallation & Neuinstallation --> unverändert

    Edit:
Habe mittlerweile folgendes - leider allesamt erfolglos - probiert:
Unter Updates - Voreinstellungen das Kontrollkästchen für automatische Updates deaktiviert
Unter C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 8.0\Acrobat\plug_ins\ die Dateien Updater.* gelöscht
    Unter C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 8.0\Acrobat die Datei AdobeUpdater.dll gelöscht
Unter C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe die Ordner Update* gelöscht
Den Dienst "FLEXnet Licensing Services" deaktiviert
    Folgenden Registry Eintrag eingefügt:
       [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Updater]
       "Enterprise"=dword:00000001
Acrobat stürzt leider immer noch ab ...
Einziger Erfolg: der Reader 9.2 geht immer noch...
