Female apple 30-pin to male micro usb cord?

I've heard some rumors about the new iPhone 5 having a microusb port instead of the standard 30 pin, and I got a bit worried since I have a nice new iHome and some other accessories that I'd be sad to lose. I have only an iPod touch currently, so this'd be my first iPhone.
Any chance Apple will be making a cord like this, or is there any place I'd be able to buy one online? I'm quite excited for the new iPhone sometime this year, and I'd like to be prepared in case they actually do switch to microusb (Again, I've only heard this through sketchy iPhone rumor blogs, but you can't be too careful!)
I hope I'm posting this in the right place, if not I apologize.

  • Male micro USB to female apple dock connector

Hey there does anybody know where I can get a male micro USB to female apple dock connector cable from?
    Many thanks

What I would do is use the male to male iPhone cable that came with it, attach a female to male micro usb adapto and a female dock connector coupler.

This indicates the device is in recovery mode.
Connect it to a computer running iTunes and restore it.

  • HT4367 Apple tv micro usb cord

Can anyone from apple please explain why apple tv does not come with a micro usb cable which is required to perform a reset and now the latest software update? Seems a bit stupid that everything else uses the lightning port now and I have to buy a micro usb cord to use Apple TV again. Very frustrated!

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
No the USB port is for servicing only (you can't actually use it anyway when you have an HDMI cable plugged in)

  • Micro usb cord to plug in your appletv

If you need a micro usb cord to plug in your appletv to your computer, why did apple not include one in the box?

I quite agree - the lead would cost them probably a few pennies/cents to include, but if it is needed to get your AppleTV out of jail when it fails without returning  it to the vendor/Apple store you'd think they would.
Also it would be the correct type of cable - not all carry data, some power only.
I have a couple of microUSB leads but they don't all allow me to restore - maybe connector tolerances differ slightly, but at least an Apple supplied lead should work.

  • How to share internet connection from notebook to mobile phone with micro usb cord in Debian based OS? (reverse tethering)

I want to share internet connection from notebook to my mobile phone (Keon) with micro usb cord (because I don't have wifi). I found in Firefox OS (version: Boot2Gecko 1.1.1.0-prerelease) Settings only the possibility to share internet from mobile phone to PC. I use a Debian based OS: Knoppix. I tried to accomplish this with Networking Manager and I did a new wired connection via my phone with "Shared to other computers" IPv4 Settings and with FE:...:02 (usb0) MAC address. But on my phone there is not internet although the connecton between my notebook and phone is estableshed.

    Hi Pimpo,
Thank you for posting your question. I was trying to reproduce your the Shared network, and I would love to know what kind of network you used to connect. This is not possible as of yet and I will file a bug being able to do this, but to make sure I have the right steps on the bug can you confirm the set up of the shared network please?
Also this is currently not possible because the software does not know how to send network traffic over usb, assuming you do not have the ability to turn the computer into a wifi hot spot, which I would recommend instead...

  • Why won't my Apple TV show up in iTunes via micro-USB?

I turned on my Apple TV (2nd gen I think) last night and it wanted to update.  After going through two updates, all I got on the screen was an iTunes logo and a USB cord.  I re-started via the remote and all I got was the same thing.  Then I couldn't get it to go to sleep, the light just blinked.  Unplugged and left it alone for awhile, plugged it back in, same thing.  Went out today and bought a micro-USB cord to hook it up to my Mac and Restore from iTunes.  When plugged in, the light in front just flashes and the Apple TV doesn't show up in the sidebar in iTunes under "Devices".  Now what?

Try a different micro USB cable.  I was trying with one I bought from Staples... didn't work no matter what I tried.  Then I tried one made by LG (for LG phones)--- worked instantly.  ATV2 should be unplugged from the power cord, just the micro USB cable connected to the computer USB port.  Then launch iTunes.  Good luck!

  • Reset an Apple TV 3 but I don't have a micro usb cable right now. What to do?

So, I want to reset an Apple TV 3 but I don't have a micro usb cable right now. What to do?

I have mini USB cords but no micro USB cords. The instructions on the Apple website assume that the customer has a micro USB by stating, "Connect one end of the micro-USB cable to the back of your Apple TV, and the other end to one of your computer's USB ports." As a customer, I understand by the language used that I should have the micro USB included with the Apple TV. If we are to supply our own micro USB cables, a re-wording of the instructions would alleviate any misunderstandings. Apple should start out by writing, "You will need to obtain a micro USB cord separetely from the Apple TV."

  • How to Output Digital Audio to Male Mini USB Connector?

I would like to input digital audio from my iPhone 5 to my headphone DAC/amplifier. The latter has a mini USB female connector for digital signal input. I envisage the following options, listed in the order of preference:
    1. A cable with a male Lightning connector to a male Mini USB connector. This would be the most elegant solution but does such a cable exist?
    2. Apple Lighting to female Micro USB adapter plus a male Micro USB to male Mini USB cable. Does this pass audio?
    3. Apple Lightning to male USB connector (the cable which came with the phone) plus a female USB to male Mini USB connector. This should work technically because the Apple stock cable does output audio from the phone to my car audio system.
    4. Any other ideas?
Which of the above options would be best to send digital audio from my iPhone 5 to my headphone DAC/amplifier? Thank you.

I believe you are not correct. You likely have not read my question entirely because I said that:
"This should work technically because Apple stock cable does output audio from the phone to my car audio system".
In other words, I connect my iPhone 5 using the supplied Lightning charging cable to the USB input of the car audio system and the music plays just fine.
However, I need a cable that has a Mini USB male connector, not a regular USB connector. Is there such a thing, or should I go with Options 2 or 3?
    Thanks.

How to upgrade to 4.4 without micro usb cable ?

My point is that Apple should have provided a micro usb cable with the unit if we are expected to update with one. Previous updates have worked over wifi; this one should also.
I absolutely agree with you about the cable - it would cost them pennies to provide one.
I have several from external USB drives but not everyone does.
If being acble to restore over USB is an expected get out of jail solution for problematic AppleTVs one should have been included.
I wonder if the new iPhone comes without a cable to connect to iTunes now (I've had it a week and not opened the box!), or maybe there's no SIM tool anymore!

  • My apple issued iPhone5 certified USB cord randomly stopped working/charging with iOS7.  Help!

I've had iOS7 installed on my iPhone5 since it was originally released and as of last week, the certified cord that came with my phone is no longer recognized.  We've no aftermarket cables in our posession, yet I was able to get the phone charged using a coworker's aftermarket cable - strange.  I've tried resetting the phone, plugging it into my mac, windows laptop and the wall outlet with only one successful charge coming from the windows machine, interestingly enough.  I'm almost out of juice on the phone - has anyone else solved this problem?  I'm at a loss.
    Any guidance is greatly appreciated!

If you were attempting to update then it means it was not applied properly. Otherwise, there was something in the environment that caused it to go into recovery mode.
You will need a micro usb cord to restore via iTunes. Most have one lying around, or they can be had for cheap. The other option is to take it to Apple and have them restore it.

  • Micro USB connected to playbook but isn't recognized by laptop

I have a Blackberry Playbook which I've been using for quite a while now.  I previously was able to transfer files to the Playbook via my laptop using the Micro USB cord.  However, now, eventhough the Playbook shows that the device is connected to the laptop, the laptop doesn't show it as a drive like it did before.  I even opened the Blackberry Desktop Manager which said that the Playbook was "disconnected."  I purchased two (2) different additional Micro USB cords (thinking that the cord had gone bad); however, that didn't work either.  Thoughts??  Thanks...

  • Old IPhone USB cord not recognized when syncing

I am hoping to use my old original IPhone as an IPod. However, I cannot get it to sync because the USB cord is not recognized on the computer. I have tried it many times and on different computers. It will not sync or download photos. Can anyone help with the problem of the USB. I do not know why USB will not work. I purchased a new USB from Belkin at the Apple Store and have my original USB cord as well. I do not have any idea which of these devices could be faulty if it is the IPhone or the USB cord. Please help. Thanks.

Thanks, issue is hopfully just the cable. I have recently learned that re-furbed and pre-owned are different. And that pre-owned warranty dates do not start over with date of purchase. I recently upgraded and ordered a 16G 3GS that I found out is pre-owned. Which means my warranty date is a month off. Dont feel very comfortable with having a device that was previously owned and not re vamped. I was told that they just polish them up and put them back into box, and then re-sell. I would have spent an extra fifty dollars to get a new one if I knew that is the way it worked. I was uninformed. Could issue be with bad device? Do they go through verification to ensure that there is no issue with them?
    Thanks for all you do.
