Female lightning cable to USB

Hey everyone,
I'm installing a Pioneer radio and I have to use the VGA to Lightning connector, that leaves me with a 2' long lightning cable.
I could run an extension cable, then I'd just always have that cable hanging there, I wanted to see if I could find a female lightning to normal USB, so I can then just put a pannel mount USB on my dash, but I can't find it.

a vga extension cord would by all means be less expensive

  • Is there a female-to-female lightning cable joiner?

As was stated above, is there a female-to-female lightning cable joiner where you can plug in two lightning cables and essentially make one extended cable?
    Thanks,
    D.A.

Both of you are correct about there generally being a USB end, I am simply trying to see if one exists. This also begs the question is there is a male to male lightning cable? I know that there are male to female cables and dock extenders. The application for all of this would be in instances such as the lightning/hdmi converter - unless you have a very long HDMI cable you are tied within a few inches of the TV or other device unless you can extend your lightening cable.
    Thank you for the replies!

  • Extending the USB–Lightning cable

I have a lovely new iPad mini Retina. The USB-Lightning cable that came with it is very short. I'd like to extend it. I assume the simplest (and probably cheapest) way to do this would be to get a USB extension cable, one with a female plug one end and a male the other. Correct? If so, do I need USB2 or USB3? I'm guessing 2, but not sure.

Just my opinion, but the easiest and least expensive way to extend your cable .....use a common household extension cord. That's what I use. Plug the cable from the iPhone/iPod/iPad into the power adapter and plug the power adapter into an extension cord. Buy a white cord and you will have a nice color match

  • Can I use my standard car charger i got for iphone 4 with iPhone 5? if I just plug in the usb to lightning cable or will it damage the new iphone?

The charger takes a usb cable, so I figure I could just plug in my usb to lightning cable and charge using my Saitek charger.  Does anyone know if this works?

Did you get this to work?  Mine did not work when I plugged it into my at&t iphone car charger usb port.

I took my iPhone to the Service center of M/s RSG INFOTECH PRIVATE LIMITED on April 17, 2014.
Why are you posting in this forum about what occured with an independent service provider?  How is is at all relevant to Apple??  In fact, service by any person or business not authorized by Apple voids any waranty.

  • Issues transferring photo/video from iPhone 6 to Macbook Pro running OS X 10.8.5 via USB-to-Lightning cable

    Hello all—
Recent upgrader to iPhone 6. I have a mid-'09 Macbook Pro running OS X 10.8.5 Mountain Lion and I'm seeking to transfer video I just shot on my iPhone 6 to my Macbook Pro. They are large files so I need to transfer via USB-to-Lightning cable as I don't have wi-fi capability to do the upload. However I can't access the iPhone 6 as a storage device through finder or image capture and can't figure out another way to transfer the files non-wirelessly. Any suggestions? The old iPhoto '09 on here won't let me import, either.

Why virtualize Leopard and not Snow Leopard?
I guess I did it once in Parallels:

But to be honest, I have forgotten how!
Snow Leopard (with Rosetta) installed into Parallels is another matter altogether!

  • How long is the supplied USB to lightning cable

What is the length of the supplied USB to lightning cable in the iPad air box?

The supplied cable is 1 meter. Slightly more than 3 ft. You can also order an Apple 2 meter cable. But most of us use a light extension cord. It's less expensive and they can be purchased almost anywhere.

  • Can i use a usb-lightning cable instead of usb-usb to scan

i lost my usb-usb male cable. looking on the internet to replace it i can only find usb-lightning cables, but they are designated for ipad, ipod, iphone. i have a wifi printer but need a usb cable in order to scan.
alternatively can i use a generic usb cable in its place?

A USB-USB male cable is a generic USB cable. You cannot use a cable intended for an iDevice.

    - While charging try resetting the iPod:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Next try restoring the iPod via iTunes.  First from backup and if still problem restore to factory defaults/new iPod.
    - However, I really think that the iPod has a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.  If defective Apple should give you a refurbished iPod.

  • HT1665 Recently read on a deal site forum page that you can only use Apple lightning cables to charge iPads running iOS 7 or higher. Is that the case or will any 8-pin to USB cable work? Thx in advance for any helpful replies.

Due to a lot of bad press that Apple was getting due to burnt chargers, shocked users (the electrical kind...), etc., due to the lousy third party El Cheapo brand generics, as of iOS 7 the cable must be Apple-certified before the iGadget deigns to use it for charging purposes. Unfortunately (for Apple) the old traditional USB to 30-pin cable is just that, a straight piece of wire, and can't be validated by the iGadget. But lo & behold, the new gear uses the new Lightning cable, which contains an embedded chip that CAN be validated and lousy imitations disabled from use.

  • Is the Micro usb to Lightning cable comming to the U.S.?

I see that the UK can order a Micro USB adaptor but not in the US yet. Is this adaptor coming? http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MD820ZM/A/lightning-to-micro-usb-adapter

  • Lightning cable USB connector not charging

My lightning cable shows up as accessory not charging in my vehicle.
Old cable worked just fine. Anyone else experiencing same problem?
    Possible causes?

I have a hard time believing that my two lightning cables, and my brand new lightning to 30 pin cable are all disfunctional.
Especially since my two cables worked perfectly up until yesterday, and my adapter didn't work properly out of the box, only after the other two started failing.
The pins on a lightning cable are assigned by the firmware of the phone. I think that's the real issue. A new cable may help temporarily, but won't work for everyone in the long run.

  • Why can't my Macbook Pro connect to iPhone 5 in any way (lightning cable, Wi-Fi)?

I have a Macbook Pro, I bought it in June or July or 2011, so I'm not sure which model that makes it. But anyway, just recently, I noticed that when I plug my iPhone 5 into it, it does not recognize or acknowledge that my phone is plugged in at all. It doesn't show up in iTunes, or anywhere else for that matter. I've also noticed that with the lightning cable, it will only charge my phone on one side. I've tried plugging my cable into both usb ports, but still, the lightning cable only works on one side. I tried another cable, same thing, but when I plug both of them into my wall charger, both sides work fine.
So after my Macbook didn't recognize the phone through the cable, I just thought "eh, whatever, I'll wirelessly sync it." So I go to the settings on my phone, go to iTunes Wi-Fi Sync, and it says "Sync will resume when "Austin *****'s MacBook Pro is available." but no matter what I do, the computer never becomes available. I've considered that it might be the phone that's the problem, because I don't have another computer to test it on, but I don't see how it could as I just got this iPhone 5 just over a month ago, and it has not been dropped, or gotten water on it or anything. If anyone can help that would be amazing, as the employees at the Apple Store like to always tell me I have to buy something new, and that isn't an option right now.

    Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Note: The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC.

  • HT1386 My device is not seen in iTunes with the lightning cable that came with the iPad air.  Is that not a synching cable?

my device doesn't seem to be recognized by iTunes with the cable provided with the brand-new iPad Air?  I am unable to synch. Suggestions.?  Is that cable in the box only for charging?  It is a lightning cable and I did upload the latest Operating systems for both the iPad and iTunes.

    It is a sync cable.
    Try a different usb port.
    reinstall itunes.
    Turn the pc off/on.
