Female Voice saying "Verizon Wireless" keeps playing for no apparent reason.
I got my droid on release day, and ever since it says "verizon wireless" in a female voice pretty often. The phone would be sitting idle, and i did not get any notifications or anything.
Is there any way to disable that sound or any thing that might be causing this?
I would also love to disable it completely, it can be annoying to hear it every time i recieve a phone call, before the ringtone, or i place a phone call, before it starts ringing.
I have this also and I have tried to find this option and disable it but I havent had any luck so far, I am sure its something I activated in menu but I cant figure out what option, if anyone knows the solution to this and know how to turn it off, PLEASE SHARE.... because its driving me crazy (Crazy Tick)

Turning off audio of female voice stating "Verizon Wireless?" (Droid X)
I am using a Droid X.
When I turn on my phone, a female voice says, "Loss of service" and then says, "Verizon Wireless." The "Loss of service" audio message also occurs if I turn on the phone's Airplane Mode. Also, when the phone rings, the female voice says, "Verizon Wireless."
My wife has the identical phone and never hears these audio messages. I looked for a way to turn off these audio messages in "Settings" but I couldn't find it.
How do I turn off these audio messages?
Thanks.
RichardThe setting you're looking for is called "Enhanced Roaming Indicator" but on the Droid X I think settings just calls it "roaming tone". uncheck that and the voice should go away.

HELP!Do you run any special applications while the system crashes?
How about memory module check?
I guess the service guys could not find any issues because they could not replicate this issue
I guess the notebook crashes sometimes and its not easy to replicate this right? -
IMac keeps crashing for no apparent reason
For the last couple of days my iMac has been crashing for no apparent reason. The only thing I have done that is new is to download, install and play Tomb Raider, from the app store. Each time I have has a crash I have run disk doctor and had no disk errors, and only a minor permissions error.
The following is an EtreCheck report, and also the latest crash report. Would appreciate any help I can get.

Web Gallery keeps updating for no apparent reason
Hi. I have a couple of pictures in the film strip, and moved to the Web module. LR 2.4 for Windows keeps updating the web gallery over and over again, for no apparent reason. It shows "Update Web Gallery" on the progress bar at the top, completes the task, and after a couple of seconds does it again, and again... . Any idea what could be triggering this unwanted behavior, and how to avoid it?
Thanks. You don't state which type of gallery (i.e. HTML or Flash) that you're using. I've only seen it happen with Flash and only when I've switched back and forth between modules. Others have reported seeing it whilst staying in the Web module. For this latter group the usual fix is to delete the preferences file.
More details of where to find the preferences file can be found at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/358041?tstart=0 -
My nano's keep dyinig for no apparent reason.
This is the third Nano that has just stopped working for no apparent reason in the last 6 months. I'll plug it in to charge/sync and when I unplug and go to play it never turns back on. I also get a message that the USB port is no longer recognized by my computer. I've tried other computers and get the same message. I can see perhaps one ipod being currupt but all 3?
Could be a hardware or battery issue. Make an appointment with Apple Genius Bar and see what they can do.

Why does my new iMac keep freezing for no apparent reason?
Why does my new iMac keep freezing? This usually happens when it is not being used and is particularly frustrating when I do need to use it and ahve to switch off and then on again and wait for it to reboot.
I am not computer literate so keep any answers as simple and idiot friendly as possible. I treat it like a car. If I put in the key and turn the ignition on and the enginesprings into life I am content. If not.............. well!In order to provide any help we need to understand a little bit more about the problem you are experiencing.
You indicated the issue occurs when the sytem is not being used. Does this mean that you stop working on the system and the system 'goes to sleep' where the screen goes black, but when you need to wake it back up by pressing keys on the keyboard or clicking the mouse the system doesn't wake back up? To test for this issue open the System Preferences and click on the Energy Saver preferences. See the 'Computer Sleep' slider to the far right 'Never' setting. You can set the 'Display sleep' setting to any number you prefer. With these settings see if the issue still occurs and let us know the results. If it resolves the issue then give Apple a call and let them know you are unable to wake the system when it goes to sleep. You shouldn't be having that issue. -
ITunes Constantly Booting Up and Playing For No Apparent Reason
This problem has only started since the recent iTunes upgrade, so perhaps there is some strange bug?
Anyway, the problem initially started while I was playing the Sims. Heard mp3s playing and knew they weren't part of the game. Quit out and found that iTunes was one. I shut the program down, and went off to do something else. Heard music blasting again, came in to find iTunes playing. Quit again. A minute later, the program started up again. I checked settings, saw no anomalies, quit. The problem has persisted, with the only way I could think of for stopping it being erasing it from my computer.
Given my current infuriated state I'm not particularly mourning the loss of the now intrusive and insidious program, but I need it for my iPod.
So, my question is: why on earth is this program doing this, and how the **** do I stop it (apart from the extreme solution of purging it from my computer?)One of the first things I did was boot up activity monitor to see if there was any third party cause for this little conundrum. I have never had problems with my attached speakers before, although I did try it without the speakers - the result was a ridiculous amount of swearing as Higher Ground by Red Hot Chilli Peppers suddenly blasts through the Macs speakers at top volume. Good song, but at 1am in the morning??
I have the 2.93 Intel Imac. Last years model. The F8 button is the play/pause button for iTunes.
I've just tried reinstalling the noisy little sod of a program, with any luck it will be quiet until told otherwise. -

Volume keeps decreasing for no apparent reason.
I'm using an iPhone 4S with iOS 7.0.2 and for some reason, I've noticed that the volume will randomly start to decrease during standard use, as though I was pressing the ( - ) button, even if I'm not touching that button. It happens quite often, usually at least once within two minutes of use, but will not occur if I leave the iPhone on a table or something and don't touch it. It has only started to happen within the last five days, with no apparent catalyst - I didn't update the software or download anything weird. I've managed to show my dad this bug, and he said it's an issue with the 4 or 4S, that my fingers are covering up some sensor.
What's going on, and how can I get it to stop? The volume indicator popup is intrusive and irritating.I'm using an iPhone 4S with iOS 7.0.2 and for some reason, I've noticed that the volume will randomly start to decrease during standard use, as though I was pressing the ( - ) button, even if I'm not touching that button. My Xbox 360 keeps disconnecting for no apparent reason
I have a linksys WRT120N, and comcast internet. It worked fine for about a month or so, and now over the last 4 days, i'll get booted from Xbox Live for no reason at all every 10-20 minutes, without any lag. One moment the game is running fine and the next i'm disconnected.
I have the 360 wired to the modem, as well as my desktop. the desktop doesn't have any disconnect issues at all, and i can immediately resign in to XBox Live. i've done the port forwarding, updated my firmware, my NAT is open and checked my MTU, and none of it helps. XBL works perfectly if i have it plugged directly into my modem.
please help, this is driving me crazy!Whats the MTU size you have setup on your Router? The MTU size on your Router should be set to 1365. Since you have updated the firmware on your Router, have you resetted your Modem and re-configured all the settings on it again? If not then, Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...

Macbook pro 13 inch mid 2010 crashing for no apparent reason
Hi there guys,
My Macbook Pro for the last few months keeps crashing for no apparant reason. I say this because it does not seem to matter what program I am running, how many programs I am running, or indeed have anything to do with my software. Im now sure of this because I took it to the genius bar today and they gave me a system format/reset and the problem is still there.
They also ran diagnostics on the hardware and everything seemed to be ok...
Has anyone else had this problem? I'll paste my report after my latest crash below incase anyone can make heads or tails of it!
Thanks everyone!

com.apple.kec.pthread 1That panic was not caused by third-party software. If the problem is recurrent, the possibilities are:
A stale or corrupt kernel cache
A damaged OS X installation
A fault in a peripheral device, if any
Corrupt non-volatile memory (NVRAM)
An internal hardware fault (including incompatible memory)
An obscure bug in OS X
You may already have ruled out some of these.
Rule out #1 by starting up in safe mode and then restarting as usual. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Post for further instructions.
You can rule out #2 and #3 by reinstalling the OS and testing with non-essential peripherals disconnected and aftermarket expansion cards removed, if applicable. Sometimes a clean reinstallation may solve a problem that isn't solved by reinstalling in place.
Corrupt NVRAM, which rarely causes panics, can be ruled out by resetting it.
If your model has user-replaceable memory, and you've upgraded the memory modules, reinstall the original memory and see whether there's any improvement. Be careful not to touch the gold contacts. Clean them with a mild solvent such as rubbing alcohol. Aftermarket memory must exactly match the technical specifications of the machine.
Apple Diagnostics or the Apple Hardware Test, though generally unreliable, will sometimes detect a fault. A negative test can't be depended on. Run the extended version of the test, if applicable.
In the category of obscure bugs, reports suggest that FileVault may trigger kernel traps under some unknown conditions. Most, though not all, of these reports seem to involve starting up from an aftermarket SSD. If those conditions apply to you, try deactivating FileVault.
Even if FileVault is not active, an aftermarket SSD may be the cause of kernel panics. Check the manufacturer's website for a firmware update.
Connecting more than one display is another reported trigger for OS X bugs.
If the system is not fully up to date, running Software Update might get you a bug fix.
In rare cases, a malformed network packet from a defective router or other network device can cause panics. Such packets could also be sent deliberately by a skillful attacker. This possibility is something to consider if you run a public server that might be the target of such an attack.
Otherwise, make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider to have the machine tested. You may have to leave it there for several days. There isn't much point in doing this unless you can reproduce the panic, or if you can't, it happens often enough that it's likely to be repeated at the store. Otherwise you may be told that nothing is wrong.
Print the first page of the panic report and bring it with you.
