  • Fetching data is very slow in workspace for planning application

    Hello Everyone,
I am working in the web environment of a planning application and recently I have seen some issue's like Fetching data is very slow through webform's and the system will locking automatically and which kick me off from workspace when I refresh. So could you suggest me like what would be the reason's for this issue's.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
Sounds like your form is very large or there are maybe a lot of dynamic calcs on the retrieval. How many rows and columns have you on the form ? Have you dense or sparse dimensions as rows or columns?

  • Fetching SDO_GEOMETRY-Objects very slow

    Hi,
while fetching all rows from a table
    with a sdo_geometry column
(like: "SELECT LINE_ID, GEOMETRY FROM LINES")
the number of rows received from the database decreases
    extremely.
I receive the first 5000 rows in about 5 seconds
and the next 5000 rows in 1 minute.
Can anyone help me to get best performance always ?
    (I'm using Oracle 8i on Win2000).

    Hi,
This could be a lot of different things - lack of memory on the system, bigger (more coordinates) geometries in the second 5000, etc.
Also, 8.1.7 is pretty old, and more recent versions of Oracle do perform better with object in general, and spatial in particular.

  • Re: Good speed from exchange, VERY slow at home

I am also suffering from very slow throughput and just across the road from the BMW garage 01278 code.  The strange thing is that I did a speedtest this morning via iPad and I got 920kb/s down and 114.2kb/s upload @ 0710 so I come home tonight and test again back to 63.2kb/s down and 106.1kb/s upload ????.  I have gone via test socket on master socket and reset my router also.  See below screenshot via BT Broadband Speed Test site tonight at 18:43.  I have an egineer booked from 1300 to 1800 on Monday 10th Feb.  The speed seems to have gone down hill since the fibre install I requested failed due to copper issues and has never been the same since in the evenings.
    Solved!

  • GT70 internet very slow and sluggish when waking from sleep

My GT70 sometimes is very slow and sluggish to respond when it is awoken from sleep mode. Browsers become unresponsive (hyperlinks don't register as links and require multiple clicks to respond) and internet gets very slow. Speedtest.net reports  .50-3mb/s when it is usually 24mb/s and above.  The hdd also thrashes about and won't calm down for what seems like an eternity.
This only happens when opening the lid after the machine sits idle for several hours. This is fixed by restarting the machine.
Does anyone know why this laptop would be behaving like this? it is very frustrating and makes sleep mode pretty much useless.
    cheers,

First thing I would do is get CPU-Z and open that after wake-up and seeing if the CPU is running at the speed expected, or if it's stuck at some lower speed.
thanks for the reply. will try that next time it happens.

  • SSRS reports running slow while fetching data from SQL server DB

We are currently facing issues with lots of our SSRS reports running very slow. Approx they are taking around 15-20 minutes compared to earlier which was 2-3 minutes.
Also, the SSRS reports which fetch their data from a Database is acting as Subscriber for a reporting server. That is we have an OLTP DB server whose Database say 'A' is getting replicated onto the server where say Database 'B'. On this B we have our SSRS
reports fetching the required data and are reported to be running very slow.
As a start I have checked for Index and stats to be properly updated and yes they are.
I am not sure now, from where to start analysing the issue.
I believe replication, not to be the issue as earlier also we had replication set up and never saw the slowness.
IS memory or IO causing a problem, please help as i am not sure on how to find a fix for this?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
You need to first find out what all are slow? Is it that the whole instance is slow? How about other queries /replication etc against those databases? Are they slow?
Check the reports which are slow, try to find the slowest reports and then start looking at execution plans. Check if there is any kind of blocking happening during the time the reports run. Also try running the reports manually and see if there is a difference
in execution time. Take a look at the waitstats during the time the reports are running.

  • I own an IMAC G5. It is running very slow.  Did hardware test and it came up with error code 2STF/8/3:S-ATABUSO-Master.  What do I need to do next?  Thanks in Advance. Stuart

I own an Imac G5.  It is running very slow.  Did hardware test and got an error code 2STF/8/3:S-ATABUSO-Master.  What is my next step?
Also how do i run disk first aid on the computer off of the install disks?  Which disk do i do it from.  Thanks in advance. Stuart

Sounds like your hard drive it about to die.
    I would backup ASAP.
To run First Aid on your disk, you need to boot from the install DVD for your Mac.
After selecting the language, open Disk Utiltity and repair the disk.
If it reports errors that DU is unable to repair, report them here and we will provide additional help.

  • Accessing Postgres from Oracle using DG4ODBC and psqlodbc very slow

    I have set up DG4ODBC on a Windows 2003 32-bit 11g Oracle database to access a Windows 2008 64-bit 9.1 Postgres database, using the psqlodbc driver (32-bit).
I am able to issue queries, but they are very slow. The reason is that the where clause of the query is being removed somewhere along the line (I have seen the actual queries run by Postgres using pgAdmin server status screen), and all the rows in the table are retrieved from Postgres. Naturally with tables bigger than a few rows that means doing a full table scan in Postgres, as well as transferring lots of bytes through the network.
For instance, if I query from Oracle like this: select * from "dps_user"@pg where "id" = '2423', the sql run at Postgres is this: select * from dps_user, which retrieves all rows on the table! When I get the query result in Oracle, I only get the row with id 2423, so I assume that Oracle gets the whole table, and does the filtering at its end.
In a 32-bit Windows XP separate machine I have set up the same psqlodbc driver, and I have run the same query using Microsoft Query. In this case, the query run in Postgres contains the where clause, and therefore it is much faster because a unique index scan is performed in Postgres, and only one row is transferred back to Microsoft Query.
    Could you help me, please?
    Thanks a lot,
    Carlos

    Hi Mike,
Thanks a lot for your help. The gateway version must be 11.2.0.3 since the Oracle database has patchset 11.2.0.3 applied.
This is the ini file once I changed the trace level:
    HS_FDS_CONNECT_INFO = pg
    HS_FDS_TRACE_LEVEL = 255
    I tried this query:
    select *
    from dps_user
    where id = 'W106606';
Where dps_user is a view on the Oracle database which translates to this:
CREATE OR REPLACE FORCE VIEW dps_user (ID,
    login,
    first_name,
    last_name,
    lastactivity_date,
    registration_date,
    email,
    email_status,
    receive_email
    AS
    SELECT "id", "login", "first_name", "last_name", "lastactivity_date",
    "registration_date", "email", "email_status", "receive_email"
    FROM "dynamo_web"."dps_user"@pg.es.lladro.com;
    The generated trace file is:

hi all. When pressed play and make some changes in loop (eg fade in fade out) are very slow to implement, and also the loops from the library are very slow to play, corrects the somewhat self so is the Logic??

    Hey there Logic Pro21,
It sounds like you are seeing some odd performance issues with Logic Pro X. I recommend these troubleshooting steps specifically from the following article to help troubleshoot what is happening:
    Logic Pro X: Troubleshooting basics
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5859
Verify that your computer meets the system requirements for Logic Pro X
See Logic Pro X Technical Specifications.
Test using the computer's built-in audio hardware
If you use external audio hardware, try setting Logic Pro X to use the built-in audio hardware on your computer. Choose Logic Pro X > Preferences > Audio from the main menu and click the Devices tab. Choose the built in audio hardware from the Input Device and Output Device pop-up menus. If the issue is resolved using built-in audio, refer to the manufacturer of your audio interface.
Start Logic with a different project template
Sometimes project files can become damaged, causing unexpected behavior in Logic. If you use a template, damage to the template can cause unexpected results with any project subsequently created from it. To create a completely fresh project choose File > New from Template and select Empty Project in the template selector window. Test to see if the issue is resolved in the new project.
Sometimes, issues with the data in a project can be repaired. Open an affected project and open the Project Information window with the Project Information key command. Click Reorganize Memory to attempt to repair the project. When you reorganize memory, the current project is checked for any signs of damage, structural problems, and unused blocks. If any unused blocks are found, you will be able to remove these, and repair the project. Project memory is also reorganized automatically after saving or opening a project.
    Delete the user preferences
You can resolve many issues by restoring Logic Pro X back to its original settings. This will not impact your media files. To reset your Logic Pro X user preference settings to their original state, do the following:
In the Finder, choose Go to Folder from the Go menu.
Type ~/Library/Preferences in the "Go to the folder" field.
    Press the Go button.
Remove the com.apple.logic10.plist file from the Preferences folder. Note that if you have programmed any custom key commands, this will reset them to the defaults. You may wish to export your custom key command as a preset before performing this step. See the Logic Pro X User Manual for details on how to do this. If you are having trouble with a control surface in Logic Pro X, then you may also wish to delete the com.apple.logic.pro.cs file from the preferences folder.
If you have upgraded from an earlier version of Logic Pro, you should also remove~/Library/Preferences/Logic/com.apple.logic.pro.
    Restart the computer.
Isolate an issue by using another user account
For more information see Isolating an issue by using another user account.
    Reinstall Logic Pro X
Another approach you might consider is reinstalling Logic Pro X. To do this effectively, you need to remove the application, then reinstall Logic Pro X. You don't have to remove everything that was installed with Logic Pro X. Follow the steps below to completely reinstall a fresh copy of Logic Pro X.
In the Finder, choose Applications from the Go menu.
Locate the Logic Pro X application and drag it to the trash.
    Open the Mac App Store
Click the Purchases button in the Mac App Store toolbar.
Sign in to the Mac App Store using the Apple ID you first used to purchase Logic Pro X.
Look for Logic Pro X in the list of purchased applications in the App Store. If you don't see Logic Pro X in the list, make sure it's not hidden. See Mac App Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases for more information.
Click Install to download and install Logic Pro X.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Sterling

  • Updated to firefox 4.0. since then my computer is very slow accessing the internet, websites and getting information from within a website.

Over a week ago I updated my computer to Firefox 4.0. Since then my computer is very slow accessing the internet, websites and getting information from within a website. Also, a tool bar has shown up for YAHOO which I did not request. The old detailed tool bar for Firefox has disappeared. All that now shows for Firefox is the area to enter website urls and an area to enter topic for a Google Search.
Many times I have to exit Firefox and re-enter it later to access the internet.
Please advice what I need to do to get back to the speed I had with the older version of Firefox.
    Thank You,
    Dennis

I recently bought, from the original website of Adobe, Photoshop elements 13. However, when I go with my mouse pointer over the menu, It hangs or he works very slow. Does anyone have an idea how I can fix it? I have already downloaded updates, both from Adobe and Windows. I have a new pc with window 8.1.

It could be a coincidence, but I rebooted the machine and (knock on wood) PSE13 seems to be working ok.

Hi,  from the last two days my iphone( iphone 4 with ios 5) have very slow to open the apps and very slow when i check the notification window , it taking too much time to open when i tap to down . help me to resolve the issue.

    The Basic Troubleshooting Steps are:
    Restart... Reset... Restore...
    iPhone Reset
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
Try this First... You will Not Lose Any Data...
    Turn the Phone Off...
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear and then Disappear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
    Release the Buttons...
    Turn the Phone On...
If that does not help... See Here:

I bougnt my S5 a month ago and I am having two major issues.  The screen is very slow to respond.  When the screen is dark and I press the home button, it doesn't come on.  I have to press the button anywhere from 4-10 times and then it usually flashes on and back off.  It is very, very frustrating.  The other issue is that the battery drains very quickly.  I have called Verizon numerous times regarding these issues.  They tell me to do different things that never help.  We eventually did a factory reset and it still has the same issues.  Help!  It is a brand new phone and unfortunately I am in a new two year contract.  Ugh. Is there anyone out there who can help me?

I have done that several times.  In fact, every time I call Verizon with my phone problems, they have me do the same things repeatedly.  I keep telling them I have already done them but they insist they are SURE it will work this time.  It never does.  After doing the factory reset and it still not working correctly, they act like they are confused, almost like I am lying.  I did what you suggested above on the slim chance it would work this time but it did not.  I bought two S5's that day and the other one works perfectly fine.  I know I got a bad phone.  Verizon just does not listen.  It is a bad phone.  I just want a new phone that works properly.  Is that too much to ask?  I bought a new phone that has been bad from day one.  Why oh why do I have to spend hours of my time on the phone, in the store, on the computer, trying to rectify this?  It shouldn't be this difficult!  Help please!!!

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen. Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then take one of the actions that you're having trouble with. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
