Fetching but never finishing while trying to rebuild

have tried to tried to rebuild my mailbox (mailbox was getting populated with multiple duplicate emails), but now, as I run "activity" it's fetching my mail--some 14000 messages, but it's getting hung up around half way through.
and then just starting over.
consequently, there are now NO emails in my inbox. help! how do I make sure the emails I'm trying to recover aren;t lost?
and why the incessant loop of fetching, never finishing, and then repeating the cycle?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. You can useiPhoto Library Manager to easily open both of the two libraries on your HD to see if there is duplication or if there are some photos that are not in your primary (located in the Pictures folder) library. If there are some you need to get into the primary library the paid version of iPLM will let you copy rolls or albums between the two libraries and maintain the keywords and comments as shown here.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. I am trying to download foxfire on a Mac. I have tried several times. It shows downloading in progress but never finishes.

You may need to consult a Safari forum for your download problems.
Possibly consider as a work around downloading from another device and transferring on removable media or by wifi/bluetooth etc to your Mac. (Take care to obtain the correct Firefox installer, the one for a Mac and not the one for the downloading device).

When trying to "e-mail link" gmail starts to load but never finishes.

when I try to send a link Gmail starts to load and then gmail never finishes loading. I leaves the gmail loading box up with the blue line about 80% full and then it just stops. It does this on 2 pc's and one laptop that I use.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

MY iBooks are not properly synching with my iPad. Many of the books are stuck in a "downloading" status. But they never finish and are not added to my library. I have tried resetting the iPad and it is running the latest release of iOS.

Backup exchange 2010 done, unloading medium... but never finish

I'm using Data Protector 07.00 to backup exchange 2010 (with DAG), everything was fine but then exchange full backup has done DP unloading medium then never finish, other jobs will be backed up normal except the exchange will be failed on next start. I can't also abort/cancel the device after the DP unloading medium.

Apologies for digging up this relatively old post but I am getting the same error message as the OP, however the solution is irrelevant / doesn't work and I can't fathom it out.
We have six Help Desk operatives - members of "Help Desk" and "View Only" RBAC. All Help Desk operatives connect to a terminal server (2008 R2) where EMC and EMS is
installed. The EMC works fine for all HD operatives, apart from one. When this operator clicks on anything under "Recipient Configuration" he gets the error described herein. It was fuly working until around early January 2014.
We don't see any event log errors on the Terminal Server or on Exchange 2010 pertaining to this fault.
Although he connectes to a terminal server, it is a one-off used for Exchange management only. It only uses local profiles. I have completely wiped his profile and seen the system build a new
profile for him. As a test,
I added him to "Organisation Management" RBAC group and the issue went away - he was able to enumerate all users, when removed from "Organisation Management" and the problem returns.
When clicking on Recipient Configuration --> Mailbox, I see the PS cmdlet run is:
Get-Recipient -PropertySet ConsoleLargeSet -ResultSize '1000' -SortBy DisplayName -RecipientType 'UserMailbox'
He can connect to EMS and run this cmdlet without issue.
I am at a loss as to where to go from here. Every Google results in checking the paths mentioned in KB2027063 (which are correct) or installing / reinstalling WinRM Extensions for IIS, which
are fine, otherwise the issue would affect all users.

You should take a look at the Knowledge Base article [[Updating Firefox]]. There is a lot of good information in there and some troubleshooting steps as well.
If that doesn't work, you might want to try installing a fresh copy of Firefox:

CD burning states ".....finishing" but never finishes

iTunes did this starting with 7.0.1.
When I burn a playlist, once the CD is almost completed, there is a message that states something about finishing (not sure of exact verbage).
I've left iTunes up for over an hour with this message displaying and it still doesn't finish, and then once I move the mouse, my WHOLE SYSTEM LOCKS UP!!!!!
I've been using iTunes for several years and NEVER HAVE I BEEN SO DISAPOINTED AS I'VE BEEN WITH RELEASE 7.x!!!!!
C'mon Apple, get your act together and if you're going to change something, make it better not worse......

Uninstalled iTunes, Quicktime, and any iPod Updater stuff per instructions.
Got rid of the never ending message of "Burning disk....finishing" but my system is still locking up.
Only thing that works is the mouse movement. Clicking on anything produces no results.
Must turn off machine to restart Windows.

SCCM Windows Updates - Client stuck on Downloading but never finishes

I am running SCCM 2007 with 200 clients. I have been sucessfully performing windows updates through SCCM without an issue for about 6 months. Recently I approved updates released in March and most of the updates installed ok, but there are two, KB938464 and KB958690, which sit on status Downloading for hours until the desktop is switched off at night. The times reach 14 hours on some machines.
I have tried to cancel the updates by removing them from the Advertisements and from the Deployment packages but they still try to run everyday on 167 of 200 desktops. If I manually go to Windows Update and install the updates the issue goes away, however, you can imagine my unwillingness to do this across 167 stations if I can avoid it.
How can I do one or both of the following:
A) Cancel the updates so they no longer want to run on the clients
B) Fix the issue so the updates download properly.
The process that I use to approve and deploy updates:
Under Site Database -> Computer Management -> Software Updates
I select the updates I want to deploy and add them to a new update list. I place a check into the box to download the files associated to the updates.
Once the update list is built I select to deploy the updates, give it a name that represents the update period
I select a template that deploys but suppresses restart in the updates.
I select a deployment package, the same one I used for all my past updates
Download from the Internet
English
Schedule
Finish.
This has worked sucessfully for months.

Firefox just updated and now when I try to look at the pictures that have been downloaded it starts loading a welcome site, but never finishes. I do not know what is going on.

I have some pictures that were downloaded from some emails. I was on AOL thru Firefox, when there was an upgrade. Allowed the upgrade & restarted. When I went back thru Firefox onto Yahoo.com to my mail site and then opened pictures it started going to somewhere that starts with: http://us.mc1801.mail.yahoo.com/mc/welcome?.partner
It just keeps circling a green arrow like it is trying to load but nothing happens. I have tried several restarts and it does the same thing. As I type this the green arrow is still working. Do I need to call AOL support or what? Thanks Alice

Acrobat X Pro lagging/never finishing while combining files into pdf?

I'm trying to complete the simple task of combining multiple word documents into one pdf. Since my ultimate product will be very long, I tried to do a test with 2 very small size (text only) word documents. Even this TEST failed to combine -- acrobat hung while "converting" the first file, even after waiting 15+ minutes. How long does this process take?? What am I doing wrong?

Somethings to try:
If not already done ensure all available Acrobat X updates are done.
Open the MS Word files and output PDF from each.
Then open Acrobat X Pro and use the Combine feature to aggregate the PDF files.

I have installed PI 7.0 was 5 months ago, that always running without problem, but today have occured one error.
Error:
When the PI send a xml for receiver agrement (comunication channel) the message stay always executing and never stop.
In SMQ2 tcode, the message are executing for hours, hours, hours and not stop.
The message appears em sxmb_moni (abap) but not appears in rwb (java)
Can anybody help me, please ?

If this is the case you dont need to worry. This is your java function problem . There is some condition in your java function that is never satisfied and goes into infinite loop. Plz check that condition or make sure that this condition is satisfied.
If you want you can check by removing the Java function and then checking in smq1/smq2 there wont be any entries in running status.

Recently my i-photo '09 will start importing photos but never finishes. Can this be fixed?

Recently my i-photo '09 starts importing photos but won't fihish. Sometimes I can make it work by restartig (after force quitting i-photo), but the problem seems to be worsening. I'm using a Kodak M-532 camera, and can import with no problem to the computer of a friend who has a MacBook with the same operating system and same version of i-photo. I've also tried repairing permissions before restarting with no luck. Suggestions?

You're on 10.6? There's a long-standing issue with Kodaks and 10.6.8. Some folks have fixed it by reformatting the card with the camera. Others by using a USB Card Reader.
