Ff 12 hangs up at starting process (windows xp)

ff 12 hangs up at starting process - it is nor possible to click on the ui

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • Autoconfig hangs on LSNRCTL80.EXE process | windows

    Hi all,
I'm a newbie here. First thought I'd put this thread under the windows subforum, but couldn't find an appropriate section there. I'll give it a shot here.
In a windows environment autoconfig hangs on the LSNRCTL80.EXE process being active.
A TNSLNSR80.EXE is spawned but LSNRCTL80.EXE hangs and autoconfig will only continue if the LSNRCTL80.EXE is killed by hand.
After autoconfig finishes, the LSNRCTL80.EXE service has to be started by hand again.
As we're working on automating a cloning process, the idea behind my question is to not having to interfere during the cloning process. The idea of having to set your alarm to kill the LSNRCTL80.EXE in the middle of the night is not too appealing.
Funny thing is that when you use remote desktop + console this problem does not occur, but if you use remote desktop without console, the LSNRCTL80.EXE hangs and has to be killed for autoconfig to finish.
Any ideas where to find the solutions to this?
I'd appreciate any ideas on how autoconfig can be run within a cloning process without having to manually interfere by killing the LSNRCTL80.EXE.
And/or any ideas on why this problem does not occur within the remote desktop + console setup?
Thanks all in advance for your time.

    Hi,
This is a known issue as you need to run AutoConfig on the server itself (not from a terminal client) -- See (Note: 260365.1 - Adconfig.cmd Hangs When Starting Apps Listener) for details.

  • Photoshop Elements 13 running in Windows 8.1 hangs immediately after starting

Photoshop Elements 13 running in Windows 8.1 hangs immediately after starting.  Has to be shut down by Task Manger.  Task Manger shows that it is still using some CPU.  Ran Procmon (part of Sysinternals) which shows that it is in a loop.   Stack trace shows it is executing code in AMTValidateProductLicense.dll.  Started happening about a month after I installed PSE.  Everything used to work fine at first.  Have tried going back to an old image of Win 8.1 on a different hard drive, otherwise same computer, and installed PSE 13 from DVD.  That installation never worked, it aways hangs.  If I do a clean boot, it sometimes runs long enough for me to click on a menu item and then hangs the same way.  And, yes I bought a new DVD to run on this computer, never been used in any other way.  Any ideas how I can get PSE running properly?

It really doesn't look like a licensing issue, it seems to be code in the area of license validation that isn't working.
I took your suggestion and initiated a couple of chat sessions with support, but so far still no luck.  The latest session with Neeraj seemed to be promising.  After some investigation he asked to reinstall.  First he uninstalled with Revo Uninstall, which seemed to be pretty thorough.  That required a restart, so he set things up to restore his conference session and took my phone number.  Unfortunately I guess his connection didn't come back.  When I didn't hear from him after a couple of hours I tried installing Photoshop and Premiere myself.  As before, Premiere works and Photoshop doesn't.  When I start Photoshop, the window opens and for a couple of seconds menus open when I click on them.  Then the window freezes and I have to use Task Manager to kill it.  So basically, I've tried several things but I'm back where I've been all along, I can't get Photoshop to work.  I'd really appreciate suggestions about something else to try.
I wish someone at Adobe was interested in the Process Monitor traces I've made, because I'm sure someone who knows the code would be able to figure out pretty quickly what's happening.  Is it trying to read a file that's not there, failing to write a file, failing to make an internet connection or what?  It really shouldn't be this hard to figure out.

  • Lightroom no longer starts on Windows 8.1 PC

Creative cloud user on Win8.1 PC.
Photoshop, AE, PP and Audition all work great on the same PC.
Lightroom pre 5.4 ran just fine. Since 5.4, it hangs when it starts. The user interface loads, but the splash screen never goes away, and Windows eventually reports it as not responding.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times, this week with 5.7, but still no go.
The only thing I know of that is different from the default is that I have installed the ProLost Lightroom Presets previously. I didn't suspect them to be the problem, but I have removed them, and that did not change the result - I am still unable to start Lightroom, unfortunately.
Any ideas how to get past this? Is there a way to produce a log file that tells us why Lightroom does not start up? Anything else I can do?
I would like to get moving on this to process some holiday photos before a new holiday season arrives, so any help would be highly appreciated!
    Thanks and best regards,
    Rune Jacobsen

  • Can't get batch from droplet to start processing

I'm using Compressor 4.0.7 running 10.8.5, but I've seen similar posts on other boards (Creative Cow) reaching back 2-3 years with same issue so I don't think it is new.
When using a droplet to submit a batch vs. submitting manually through Compressor, the droplet batch appears in Share Monitor, but hangs with a status of "Waiting" and never begins to get processed by my QuickCluster.
It clearly seems to be a bug as I did an A-B test without restarting any machines (host or clients) in the cluster and tried to submit 8 files by dragging them to the droplet.
Within a few seconds the batch appeared as expected in Share Monitor, but was stuck "waiting."
After a few minutes I manually created a batch in Compressor using the exact same 8 files, with same settings and same destination and submitted it directly from Compressor.
After a few seconds that batch also appeared in Share Monitor and immediately started processing correctly.
After it was finished successfully I then thought that maybe the "waiting" batch would then start up since things had gotten started in the queue.
No such luck - it just continued to hang with the "waiting" status.
Any ideas? It sure would save a ton of time to be able to use the droplet over and over ...
    thx in advance.

Thank you very much for helping Allan. Something must have been wrong with the iTunes software. I switched it from Automatically sync when the iPhone is connected, to manual, clicked apply, then switched it back to Automatic, and now sync is in process. As a side note, I'm on Windows 7 and that may have had something to do with it. But it's working now, and why it didn't before when I did exactly the same thing is beyond me.
But again, thanks for your help.

  • C: drive won't start loading windows

Building a new system - I have a KT4V mainboard in aqn Antec case with a 2000+ CPU, GeForce 4 video card and a single floppy, CD-Rom, and 40 Gbyte drive.  Very easy install, zipped thru BIOS process with no problem, system correctly recognizes the components.  But when it boots now it gets to the point where all for D-Bracket lights are green, and just sits there with a blinking cursor in the upper left corner - won't start loading windows.  I put the disk in another system - loaded fine -it's ready to go.  Tried putting Windows XP startup disk in the cd.  It recognizes that windows is already installed on the C: drive.  I have tried repair and reinstall - after a few minutes the process hangs - I think when it tries to write to the disk for the first time.
I think I've tried everything.  Other than figuring out that I have to reverse the HDD Led connector, no progress.  :(

I bett the problem lies with the XP motherboard drivers loaded on the hard drive, it will not see the new board.
I would try to reboot on the old machine, load the new MB drivers into a folder on the desktop or wherever, then try to do a right click my computer>properties>hardware>device manager> + IDE ATA/ATIPI controler, uninstall both the primary and secondary channels. It will ask you to restart in between each one but don`t restart until done. Then instead of restarting that machine just shut down and swap the HD into the new system, hopefully it will see the IDE channel and when asked for drivers, direct it to the folder on the desktop or wherever you put them.
I just tryed to unistall both IDE channels on this machine and it reinstalled the drivers after reboot and then rebooted again so if it don`t work you should be able to put it back in the first machine.
Other then that, I think a fresh HD or one that has or needs a reformat installed on the new machine then add this one with the other programs you have as a slave to the first is going to be about the only way I know of.

  • SAP BW 640-----SAINT HANGS AFTER CLICKING START

    Hi Everybody,
We are on stack 9 on the source BW 640.  I am trying  to take the stack to 22 as a prerequirement for unicode conversion, and the upgrade to BI 7.0.
In this regard there is a dependency on PI_BASIS to be on 2005, and BI_CONT to be on 353.  Currently we are on PI_BASIS 2004, and BI_CONT 352 on the source.
We have extracted the appropriate installation packages for the above components.  When we run SAINT to install these components, and click START it just hangs.  It does not take me to the  next window.
At least SAINT used to take me to the next window after clicking start, but one change I did was to update the kernel to 221, saint was still hanging after clicking start, again updated the kernel to 274 which is the latest release for NW 2004.  I also have the latest version of R3Trans, and tp.  SAINT still hangs after clicking start button.  No  logs are getting generated in \usr\sap\trans\log.  No files are getting generated in \usr\sap\trans\tmp.
I restored the database to what it was before we initiated the SAINT process.  Still SAINT hangs after clicking start button.
In STMS-overviewu2014system-sap system-all the checks work fine(connection, transport directory, transport tool).  Likewise in SAINT-utilities-check-transport tool----every thing looks good.
Why is SAINT hanging after clicking start button, can we downgrade the kernel to what it was before (level 155).
    Any input is greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.
    Ramesh Srinivasan.

Thank you so very, very much.  We are currently using a 640 gui.  We tested with 710 gui and saint after clicking start does not hang.
So we are assuming that 710 gui will solve the problem.
Thanks once again.  A very timely help.  You bet I'll touch base with you if I run into issues.

  • How do I get rid of embedded adobe reader process windows and taskbar icons?

In the lastest versions of Adobe reader I've come across the issue of finding an adobe task bar icon and a small adobe reader process window for each PDF document that I have open witin an Internet explorer tab. This is driving me crazy. At first I thought it was jut an issue with the machine that I'm on, but I have now seen this happen in multiple computers. Anyone have any ideas on how to keep these from clogging my screen and taskbar?
I am using Windows 7 Ultimate x64, Internet Explorer version 10.0.9200.16686, and Adobe Reader 11.0.4.

Group similar buttons on the taskbar
Taskbar buttons represent open programs on your computer. When you have several programs  open at once, the taskbar might seem crowded with buttons. To help organize the taskbar and save space, you can group similar taskbar buttons so that all of the open files from one program are grouped into one taskbar button, like this:
    Grouped taskbar buttons
Open Taskbar and Start Menu Properties by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, and then clicking Taskbar and Start Menu.
Select the Group similar taskbar buttons check box so that it is checked. (To turn off grouping, clear the Group similar taskbar buttons check box.)

  • Adobe HCM Processes and Forms Start processes iView error

    Hi,
We are implementing Adobe HCM processes. The forms based on the PCR technology are working fine. However, we want the new HCM Processes and Forms technology. We have implemented Business packages for MSS, HR Administrator and XSS (PC_GUI). ADS is configured correctly as the PCR Adobe forms are working fine.

  • Powershell start-process argumentlist

I have an issue with powershell 4.0 where start-process converts my credentials from a type of System.Management.Automation.PSCredential to System.String.  Use the following lines to replicate this:
    $Credentials = Get-Credential
    get-member -InputObject $Credentials
    start-process C:\Windows\SysWOW64\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\powershell.exe -ArgumentList "Get-Member -inputobject $Credentials | out-file C:\results.txt"
If you look at the results of the 1st get-member command, the type is System.Management.Automation.PSCredential.  If you look at the results of the 2nd get-member command, the type is System.String.  Does anyone know if this is intended behavior?
Is there a way around it?

I am using start-process to run a command which interfaces with VMware PowerCLI.  One of the cmdlets of powercli is Set-OSCustomizationSpec.  Set-OSCustomizationSpec has an argument that accepts PSCredentials, -DomainCredentials.  When the
credentials are passed without start-process, the cmdlet succeeds.  If I call it with start process, the cmdlet fails with the error
'Set-OSCustomizationSpec : Cannot bind parameter 'DomainCredentials'. Cannot convert the "System.Management.Automation.PSCredential" value of type "System.String" to type "System.Management.Automation.PSCredential"'
    The actual command i am using is: "start-process powershell -argumentlist "<Add VMwareSnapins>;Set-OSCustomizationSpec <SPEC> -NamingScheme <Scheme> -NamingPrefix <Name> -DomainCredentials <Credentials>; new-vm..."
If you issue the command "get-member -inputobject $Credentials | out-file C:\results.txt" the type shows system.management.automation.pscredential.  If you issue the exact same command with start-process(start-process powershell.exe -argumentlist
    "get-member....) the type shows system.string.
The issue has nothing to do with piping to a text file.  The original post was simply a demonstration of the error.  I apologize for the initial lack of clarity.

  • Start-Process ignores the parameter "-wait" with explorer.exe

    Hi all,
maybe it´s a stupid question, but...
    Start-Process notepad.exe -Wait
...will wait for closing the process "notepad.exe".
    Start-Process explorer.exe -Wait
...will not wait for closing it, instead the script will go on.
My question: Why? :) is it because "explorer.exe" is a core element of Windows and there are more then one process? For whaty exactly is the parameter "-wait" waiting for? Finishing the process name, the Process ID?
    is it a bug?
Otherwise, do you have a good idea for that scenario:
a script will be started and opens a dedicated network share. Within this share the user (ServiceDesk Employee) can paste a CSV file, and after closing the Explorer, the script will read in this CSV and import that informations.
    Thank you guys!

I think the issue is due to explorer.exe is always running, if you stop that process, then you will lose your entire desktop. By opening File Explorer, a new explorer.exe process does not start up. You can verify this by opening task manager, and under the
process tab, look at your process count, and then open a few File Explorer windows, this count does not change.
Your script may need to be a two step process, where the Help Desk user manually copies the CSV file, then runs the script, or you can do a Read-Host, where they put in the path to the CSV file, and then your script can copy it to where it needs to go, and
    then continue its execution.

I am running an invoke command from a PC to run a .bat file on a remote server. However i would like to see the output of the .bat file run in my powershell window on my local PC. Any tips on this?
I have this at the moment

however this just completes without showing  me anything. Can i see the output of the .bat file on my local PC?
    Thanks in advance

    invoke-command -computername Server01 -filepath c:\Scripts\scriptname.ps1
The script has to be on the local machine or has access to it.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
