FF 20 and Flas 11 = 100% CPU - Opera, IE8, Chrome are all OK. FIX IT!

I am absolutely sick and tired of hearing excuses about why FF is not to be blamed when it chews 100% CPU with the Adobe Flash plugin.
I have done all the dancing around I am willing to endure. I have even downgraded to FF18 and FF19. No friggin setting works. Nothing. IT IS IN THE CODE!! FIX IT!!!
It is simply NOT acceptable that ANY other browser in the known universe works OK with Flash BUT FF.
It is time that devs acknowledge this and do something about it instead of scratching their butts!
PLEASE do not get me more links to troubleshooting pages, either from Windows, Adobe or FF.
I'll repeat: IT IS IN THE FRIGGIN CODE. FIX IT!!!

Also IE uses a Active version of Flash and Chrome comes with its own Flash though it can use Adobe version if pepper version is disabled.
Adobe has been making a buggy Plugin for Windows ever since they came out with the Flash 11.3 version.

    Dear Team,
I have got requirement to find to Operating Profit Margin Ratio Using ABAP report, I have searched for formula in forums
    I got the formula.
Operating Profit Margin Ratio = Operating Profits /  Income.
::Operating Profits = Gross Profits - Total Operating Expenses.
but i have calculated Gross Profits Value & Income value.  I am getting problem to find Total Operating Expenses.
In our Balance sheet they maintain "Direct Operating Expenses"
                                                             "General Administration Expenses"
                                                             "Financial Expenses"
                                                             "Depreciation".
To find  total operating Expenses what are all i need to add to find it, please forward ur valuble feed back to me.
    It would help me.
    Thanks in advance..
    Urs,
    Vinay

in the operating expenses you shall not consider the "Financial Expenses", because they are not caused by the operative part of the company.

An icloud account is designed to be used by just one user.  If you have given your ID or set up your account on someone else's device, then their data will be mingled with your or worse.

anybody can help me understand if the Ipads becomes ready to be used in all world regions with 3G and or 4G infrastructure? I mean, are all of them released or when I buy one in the US to be used in Argentina I need to ask for a released one, with add costs?

There are two versions of the current iPad, the WiFi only (which will work anywhere in the world, but only connect to WiFi networks) and the 3G/4G model. The latter will connect to 3G networks worldwide, as I understand it, but the only 4G networks it can connect to are in the US and Canada.

according to the tech specs' required to use iClode it seems that Apple is ignoring it's promisses to their valued costumers since 2001..I have to go to an Apple store and buy a new MacBook and iPhone..mm yeah right we are all swimming in cash. On June Apple had promissed it's old valued costumers that they can continue to access their Mac mail accounts via a browser. But hey ! why keep promisses. Now you need to purchase all the latest gadgets to use y'r Mac mail-iCloud. MOVING TO GMAIL !

If you had a MobileMe account, and provided you migrated it to iCloud before 1 August, you can access your email at http://icloud.com on any modern browser. 10.7.2 minimum and iOS5 or 6 are required for the devices to use iCloud syncing and other facilities.
If you have Tiger, Leopard or Snow Leopard you can set Mail up manually to access the email on an existing iCloud account:
Entering iCloud email settings manually in Snow Leopard or Leopard

  • Firefox 3.6.12 is running extremely slow and taking 100% CPU on my mac.

Just updated Firefox to 3.6.12 and it's taking over 100% CPU on one of my processors and is running EXTREMELY slow, too slow to use.

Firefox used to be the doggs bollocks now its just a dog.
Back to internet exploder fro me im afraid.I cant keep waiting twenty seconds for everything its like being back in 1993.

  • CS6 and AME 100% CPU utilisation

So this is an odd question to ask maybe as we often asked for max CPU utilisation when encoding in the past to get stuff done quicker.
But - this is entirely new behaviour for me at least. I have a 6 core i7 X980 with HT and 24GB ram. In the past, I could queue up several sequences and let them encode to H.264 in the background while i carry on editing. Worked fine with no problems.
I recently upgraded my GPU to a 4GB GTX680 from a 1.2GB GTX570. There have also been 2 updates to PPro as well since I noticed this behaviour.
So the issue is that when encoding, all 12 threads are at 100% CPU utilisation and my mouse control suffers terribly - very very slow mouse as obviously there's not enough CPU resources to drive the pointer properly. This never happened in the past as CPU utilisation was never maxed out like this.
    Anyone seen anything similar?
    Thanks,
    Paul.

    Hi Darren,
I've not benchmarked the two cards in Premiere - I've not noticed any difference in real world use. Reading a few comparison reviews out there kind of said the same thing too (although gaming based reviews). The reason I went for the 680 was the availability of a 4GB VRAM model which was really important for me in After Effects using complex 3D models in the Video Copilot plugin, Element 3D.
So it was worth it for the memory but maybe not just for Premiere. I don't tend to do a load of video layers at once, the most is maybe a couple of layers PIP on virtual studio type projects but then most of them end up in AE really as its just hugely more flexible and fun to work with

  • "du process" pops up and occupy 100% CPU

I didn't solve the issue. I've got a macbook pro 2010, partitioned with bootcamp and with os 10.6.8. "Du process" appears and disappears, and when pops up occupy 100% CPU. This process isn't present in my other macbooks with the same os. Is it possibile and useful (to get 100% cpu availability) to cancel it? How?
Thank you in advance for your help!

Safari third party plug-ins and extensions can increase CPU usage.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.
If it's not an extensions issue, try troubleshooting third party plug-ins.
Back to Safari > Preferences. This time select the Security tab. Deselect:  Allow plug-ins. Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that made a difference, instructions for troubleshooting plugins here.

  • "IMAQ Stop" takes 10sec to execute and consumes 100% CPU

Hi, I'm calling IMAQ Stop to end an acquisition but it consumes 100% of my processor and takes 10sec to complete (all the while consuming 100% CPU).  In our application we start and stop the camera regularly and this is exactly when the user wants the program to be interactive so this 10sec delay is a big irritation to them.
My setup is - Dalsa Piranha line scan camera, RT 9 running on a desktop PC  (it is compatible according to the test), PCI-1429 cameralink card.
    Any help or comments welcome.
    Thanks.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Ah I have managed to solve this one, but first here are the answers to your questions:
Using Stop and then Close or just Close makes no difference.  The Stop was taking so long that I simply used a probe before and after it on the error cluster and with 2009's probe timestamp function I could easily see how long it took.  For more detailed timing analysis I use the us timer available with RT.
In any case, the way I solved the problem was by making sure that I stop the acquisition BEFORE the line clock to the camera is stopped.  So IMAQ Stop probably waits for the end of the current frame before it returns - and if the line clock stops halfway through a frame (as was the case), a 10 sec timeout probably causes Stop to return eventually.
The line clock is being driven by a DAQ card (via RTSI) and I simply closed the session to that counter AFTER calling IMAQ Stop.  The DAQ interface is not shown in the example above as it is coded in a different vi.
    Thanks for all the help.

  • NUMA node zero at 100% CPU utilization while others are around 50% - why?

    Questions:
How can I tell which processes are maxing out one of my eight NUMA nodes' CPU?  i.e. what tool would give me that insight?  I've poked around procmon.exe and don't think it has this, but am not sure yet.
Any thoughts on what's going wrong overall, given the description below?
    Symptoms:
Task Manager shows one NUMA node at 100% CPU (and in processors view, shows all 8 CPUs in that node at 100%), while other nodes range from 0-90% depending on load
SQL Server, which is the only significant CPU user on this box, is running regular jobs 2x slower than it did last week.  Last week it was running Windows and SQL 2008 R2 SP1, and this week it has been rebuilt (from scratch - not upgraded) with Windows
    and SQL 2012.
    Environment:
HP DL980 G7, 64 cores, 1TB RAM, 50TB fast disk for SQL use, 120TB slow disk for file storage
Hyperthreading enabled - last week, it was not (since it's not supported well in Windows 2008 R2 with the Hyper-V role and 64 cores)
Windows Server 2012 Standard, installer we got via Software Assurance (and yes, I have an MS support case, ID 112110854959943, but I often lose days before my case escalates to the right person, so I'm hoping someone knowledgeable sees this first,
as I have some very unhappy users!).  Last week was Windows 2008 R2 SP1 Enterprise.
SQL Server 2012 RTM Enterprise Core.  Will update to latest CU as soon as I get a maintenance window.  Last week was SQL 2008 R2 SP1 Enterprise.
Max d.o.p. on six SQL instances is set to 8, on the seventh it is set to 16.  No CPU affinity set by us for SQL or anything else.
Hyper-V role installed.  Had this role last week too.
Domain controller.  Had this role last week too.
Also running DFS (with replication turned off this week, though it was on last week), not much going on there right now so I don't think it's related to the problem.
Task Manager and Resource Monitor show Memory is fine (100GB free), Disk is fine (<500 MB/s I/O, compared to regularly running at 1-2 GB/s in the past).  perfmon won't open for me, possibly due to an unrelated problem (port exhausting with DNS Client,
another MS support case we have ongoing)
    Planned next steps:
I have removed the Hyper-V role and am awaiting user permission to reboot for that to complete.  Will see if that fixes it.
If it doesn't, I'll reboot again and remove hyperthreading.
And in the meantime, via MS support and this post, I'm trying to understand what is going on, what is wrong.  I would love your help!

To follow-up on Ethan's post (he works with me) - this is what it looks like in Task Manager.
Normally, all 64 CPUs would be at/near 100%. But SQL jobs look they are being bottlenecked on NUMA node 0 (despite no affinity being set - everything is default/automatic). Another symptom (other than very slow SQL jobs) is that various management tools
in the host partition are very unresponsive.
    The significant changes are:
    * WS2012 vs WS2008R2 SP1
    * SQL2012 vs. SQL2008R2
    * Hyperthreading enabled in BIOS to give 128 logical processors to the hypervisor. 64 logical processors are made available to the host partition (the limit in WS2012)
All SQL instances are  running in the host partition. There is no significant network or other activity on this box. No VMs are running. CPU-Z shows 8 sockets, 8 cores/socket, 8 thread/socket in the host partition. So despite hyperthreading/SMT being
turned on, it looks like all 64 real cores are being exposed to the host partition.
See also here, where Microsoft recommends leaving SMT/hyperthreading on in all cases with WS2012:

  • Firefox will not run - double click on icon, select icon and run/open, opening via start menu are all dead

Problem started yesterday (9/28). While in Firefox, bookmarks stopped working. Closed out FF and tried to reopen the program, and nothing causes FF to launch. Tried double clicking on the desktop icon, single click on the bottom status bar (on XP), right click on icon to open or run, trying via Start -> All Programs -> Mozilla and neither regular or safe mode would launch. Only thing that seems to fix the problem is a full restart of the computer. Tried downloading the newest version via Chrome. When I clicked to run the install, kept getting a message to close all FF windows, even though there were no FF windows open.

Check that you do not run Firefox as Administrator.
Right-click the Firefox desktop shortcut and choose "Properties".<br />
Make sure that all items are deselected in the "Compatibility" tab of the Properties window.
    * Privilege Level: "Run this program as Administrator" should not be selected
    * "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" should not be selected
Also check the Properties of the firefox.exe program in the Firefox program directory.
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • Opening VI and consuming 100% CPU power

I am trying to debug my VI. The first few times the VI ran well but suddenly the VI hang up. I have no choice but to end the LabView process using the Task Manager. When I try to restart this VI again, it fails to open and the Task Manager indicates that the LabView program is now consuming 100% of the CPU time but still fail to open this VI. Looks like it is entering into an infinite loop. I cannot fix anything for I cannot go into my VI to change anything. LabView just consumes all the CPU power and do nothing. What went wrong?
    Regards,
    Larry

Okay.  That is very strange.  I am seeing the same behavior.  (I have LV 8.2)
When I first downloaded the VI, it opened just fine.  If I did a saveas, closed the VI, and reopened the copy, I got 99% CPU usage.  I reopened the one from the message, no problem.  I left that one open and tried opening the one I had saved.  It said I already had one in memory by that name do I want to view the one in memory or replace?  I said replace.  When it opened to the block diagram, everything was okay.  But when I clicked on the window to view the front panel, that is when the CPU usage jumped up again.
So somehow the problem is associated with the FP.   Nothing looks particular wrong about your code.  The question is how did you manage to get a copy of the file that isn't causing problems when you open it?
I think you will want to recreate the VI from scratch.  You are able to view a copy to see whay you have which is good.  And it doesn't look too complicated.
What is interesting is that if I delete everything from the VI's block diagram (leaving nothing apparent on the FP), save, close, reopen, I still get the extreme CPU Usage.  It seems confined to LV, as I am still able to switch over and working within the browser to answer this message.
