FF version 29.0.1 has Adobe Acrobat 11.0.06.70 as current version

One of my scanning programs detected that the referenced version is outdated, and requires
a security update. FF is showing that the listed version is "up to date". The new version appears
to be 11.0.0.07? When I click on this green "up-to date" icon, it brings up an Adobe download menu
to install the 11.0.0.7 version. The "check plug ins" is not showing the older version as outdated.
Is this menu to "replace" the old version, or is it a completely new version? I am a novice
however thought I was on the auto-update with Adobe. I have not seen a prompt from Adobe to update the old version,as of this date.
Thank you for any clarification provided.

Tyler: Thank you very, very much for responding to my question. I now have it downloaded and installed. Your help is very much appreciated!!!

  • Upgraded to Adobe Acrobat Pro 10.1.1 and prior versions still present cause confusion.

After buying Adobe Acrobat X Pro, installing it, I see Adobe Acrobat 8 Provessional and Adobe Acrobat Pro still are listed as "applications".  Should these be removed?  If so, does using the Acrobat Uninstaller.app allow me to specifically delete each without destroying my Adobe Acrobat X Pro version? I use Mac OS X Version 10.6.8.  I would like to avoid reinstalling Acrobat X Pro, but for no particular reason except that things are working so well at the moment. This is what is listed on my computer now.

    Hi,
Before removing Acrobat 8 please check the version of AdobePDFViewer plug-in.
Go to (Drive where OS is installed)\Library\Internet Plug-Ins\ and click on AdobePDFViewer.plugin to check its version. Now follow the instructions below
    a) If the version of plugin starts with 10 then
         - Launch Acrobat 8 Professional
         - Go to Help-> Activation->Deactivae
         - Then quit Acrobat 8
          - Trash the "Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional" folder
    b) If the version of plugin starts with 8 then
          - Go to Acrobat 8 Professional folder
          - Launch the Acrobat Uninstaller app
          - in the browse dialog for uninstall select Adobe Acrobat Professional present in "Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional" folder
          - Reinstall Acrobat X Pro

  • Can I use an Adobe Professional license from 2008 with the current version of Adobe Acrobat XI Pro?

Can I use an Adobe Professional license from 2008 with the current version of Adobe Acrobat XI Pro?

With "license" you mean serial number?  If that serial number was for a different Acrobat version (e.g. 9), you cannot use it for the current version XI.
You can however use it to purchase an upgrade from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html

Why has adobe acrobat changed the dimensions of my original jpeg file?  I uploaded an A3 jpeg file and adobe converted it to pdf but the scale is all wrong.  Why is this?  What can I do about it?

Normally if you open a graphic in Acrobat, it automatically adjusts the PDF to the size of the graphic. It sounds as though you are doing something else to create a PDF. It would help to know how you created the PDF, you seem to be suggesting you did it with an online tool and not Acrobat. In that case you should go to the appropriate product forum.

If you're on a Mac, you need to upgrade it to Mac OS X 10.6.3 and then 10.6.8, which requires that it has an Intel CPU and at least 1GB of RAM.

  • Update doesn't work. Tried several times but still shows old version of Mozilla and of adobe Acrobat..

I have version 3.6.7 and History shows it has not been updated in two years. (I was using IE for a while but switched back to Mozilla a couple of weeks ago, but I can't get it to Update. It shows that the update has downloaded but it doesn't get activated. I also downloaded Adobe Acrobat update from the Mozilla plug-in page and that also did not seem to "take". What can I do?

    Try the following:
Update Firefox by going to [http://www.getfirefox.com www.getfirefox.com]. Download the newer version of Firefox, and install it over your current Firefox install.
Then, read [[Websites say that Firefox is outdated or incompatible even though it's the latest version]], follow all directions there.
after doing that, download Flash 11.4 from [http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/support/install_flash_player.exe http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/support/install_flash_player.exe] and install it (close firefox first)

  • Where has Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Professional gone?

Hi,  I have just done something disastrous.  I had Adobe Acrobat 6 Professional installed and came across Adobe Reader 9 so I thought I'd upgrade!!!  Well, I obviously don't know my acrobats from my readers, etc. do I?  Duh!!  Now I can't look at any pdf documents I have installed because I stupidly removed Acrobat 6 from 'add/delete hardware' in Control Panel.  Oh well I thought, I'll just go to the Adobe website and download Acrobat 6 professional again so I can, once again, have access to my documents  ..... but I can't find it on the website and now I don't know what to do to be able to read my pdf's again.  If I DO download AA 6 professional again, will I be able to read my documents, or will I have to download them again?  Can someone help me please?  Many thanks.  Jan.

There is an outside chance that if you registered your AA6 (or have proof of purchase), you can call Adobe to try to arrange to get a fresh copy. It might cost a bit if they agree to send it to you and still have it available to send. If it is no longer available for problems like yours, then you will indeed have to upgrade. That may be an issue since you no longer have AA6 and AA9 will check for AA6 on the upgrade. Otherwise it will not install under the upgrade. So in any case you will likely have to contact Adobe.

  • Adobe Acrobat Standard install doesn't recognize my version of IE

When I try to install Adobe Acrobat Standard 9, I get an error that says I need IE6 or greater and the install will not finish.  I have IE9.  Why doesn't it recognize that I have IE9, and how do I get around this?  Thanks.
Update:  I have since installed IE10, and am still having the same problem.

Awesome suggestiont. Your solution worked perfectly and it was a breeze. Thanks!!

  • Why does adobe presenter state I need the most current version of flashplayer to view the file?

When attempting to open an adobe presenter file, I am prompted to install the required version of flashplayer.  I currently have both adobe reader 11 and adobe flashplayer 11 installed on my computer.

    Hi,
Which browser are you using?  Have you tried any other browser?  Please check in  Control Panel > Programs & Feature, the flash player installed is Adobe Flash Player 11 Plugin or is it different?
If you check in Adobe Flash Player download page, different flash player is provided for IE and for other browser (chrome, firefox), this may be the reason for your issue. Please verify it.
    Thanks,

  • Firefox tells me to update Adobe Reader and after I try to do that Adobe says I already have the most current version.

Firefox shows that my Adobe Reader needs to be updated to version 11.0.84 and when I try to do the Adobe Reader update, it tells me I already have it.

    Thank you.

Thanks, a few people seem to have encountered the same problem.

  • TS1368 I do not WANT the latest version of iTunes. Was tricked into loading it a few weeks ago by updater. The new version (11) stinks! Has none of the menu options of the earlier version. So I uninstalled and re installed 10.6.3 but now it won't auth. Wh

I deleted the "new" library and repopulated the lists when re-installing. Even though I connect and the store comes up, and my login is correct, I get an error message every time. How do I reset it so it forgets all the errors and goes to the store to auth my purchases? I will not use the idiot-light version now offered for iPhone addicts. Help?

Apparently, security programs like Macafee and Norton view Itunes updates as new programs and block then from access. If you add Itunes to the list of exemptions, it solves the problem.
