FF will not open in Win Vista

I have long used FF; suddenly with 3.6.3 (or whatever is latest from mozilla.com), it starts as a process ("firefox.exe *32) but never displays a window.
will NOT start in safe mode either; tried creating a new profile (per instructions from FF support chat line) -- also no-go.
Previously tried completely uninstalling/reinstalling/rebooting & removing all Mozilla folders after uninstalling -- still no luck

How long does firefox.exe stay in task manager? (Indefinitely, or does it disappear after a time?)
Also, could you check other 32-bit applications to see if they load? (Are you able to access the 32-bit version of Internet Explorer?)

I just purchased this movie on Thursday, May 15, so just a few days ago. I have never had any trouble whatsoever since I have been in Vietnam. I have downloaded several movies and even music and they have all synced to my respected Apple products except for this purchase.

Firefox 7 will not open in win xp, after being updated from previous version

updated to firefox 7 on win XP. now firefox will not open.

I have the same problem (and with Mozilla Thunderbird) running with Windows Vista OS. The non-opening problem was preceded by a long period where Firefox and other programs were taking absurdly long times, such as one minute, to open. Starting Windows in "safe mode with networking" solves the problems. Similarly, I just found that If I run msconfig.exe and select "diagnostic startup" then Firefox and Thunderbird both start and start up really fast (that is, when most services and startup programs are prevented from starting). However there is no network so they do not connect. I then turned on (in msconfig) enough processes to get networking running and Firefox and Thunderbird still start up really fast.
I am fairly certain there are no viruses on my computer, so the only other possibility is that some program/registry-entry is preventing the OS from working properly. The problem with windows that it is virtually impossible to find something like this, since the Windows OS has very weak self-diagnostics, and the registry is absurdly complicated with over half a million entries on my computer.
If you can do a "repair install" then this will probably fix the problem, but I do not think that Vista has this feature. Alternatively an upgrade of the OS might fix it, such as from Vista to Windows 7.

I am running a win7 pc-64bit os and itunes will not open since I updated it in Oct. I have attempted uninstalling and reinstalling the itunes s/w several times. I don't know if this will help you but I just went through this. After three weeks of thinking it was my firewall and making all the adjustments suggested by apple, I discovered it was my Net Nanny software that was blocking my way. I had one character wrong in the accepted lists on websites and so it looked right to me when I checked. It wasn't until I completely uninstalled the software and reinstalled, and re-entered all my lists that I realized the error. Now it is working great. So you may want to check your list of approved websites VERY carefully or re-enter them on you firewall software or any content blocking software you may have.

King Penguin set you on the right track. It's probably security software not recognizing the new version of itunes, and blocking it.

CS4 32 bit will not open under Win 7 64 bit.

Upgraded from Win 32 bit XP to Win 7 64 bit. While in the process of rebuilding my system downloaded and installed Beta versions of CS6 and Bridge for CS6, before trying to install my current CS4 version. I do not know whether this is causing any of the following problems that I am experiencing.　　　　　　　　A short time later I installed CS4, ending up with both the 32 and 64 bit versions of CS4. Interestingly, this install did not install a CS4 version of Bridge in either 32 bit or 64 bit, possibly because the Beta CS6 version of Bridge was installed? 　　　　　
However, from a previous system backup I was able to retrieve a copy of the CS4 version (presumably 32 bit version) of Bridge, which I simply copied to the new system and found that it works fine. Interestingly now the CS6 version of Bridge loads one of the two CS4 versions and not the Beta CS6, but I cannot tell which one of the CS4 versions. Question: how does one determine whether the loaded version is the 32 or 64 bit version? If I click on System Info it does say X64 which I assume means the 64 bit version is loaded. Is this the way to tell?

The CS4-64 version continues to run as it should.
Assuming that CS6 will come with a 32 bit version when it hits the market I will be upgrading, but for now I really need a working 32 bit version of CS4.

Help - System Info will tell you whether you're running the 64 bit or 32 bit version (look at the end of the first line). EDIT: Note that originally said Help - About and have corrected this.
Yes, Photoshop CS6 provides both a 32 and 64 bit version. In fact, it should have installed both on your system.
Normally the two versions don't get into eachothers' hair, EXCEPT for file associations, which may explain the mixup you're having where Bridge runs the last version installed. I doubt it has to do with your crash though.
Have you copied any plug-ins or set an Extra plug-ins folder so that there could be a mixup between the two versions?
Have you checked to see if your display driver has been updated? Go to the web site of the maker of your video card and download the version that matches your hardware and OS. Display driver updates solve many problems.

Adobe Illustrator CS5 will not open in Windows Vista

All I get is "Adobe Illustrator has stopped working"
Then i get "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available"
I've tried reinstalling 6 times now, and it still wont work. I dont know where to start. Please help ASAP I have a presentation to submit!!

At the bottom serach box , type "amt3.log" , does the file show up in the list , if no
then I would say contact Adobe support ,and get this fixed.
The problem could be either at the time of installation or launch.
also can you share the install logs:-

Open the .log file using WordPad (Windows)

I am running Windows Vista 32 bit, I have just installed the latest version of Itunes, which installs, when I go to open Itunes, I get an error message, ' MSVCR80.dll was not found. Re-installing the app may fix the problem.' I have triedd re-installing Itunes, same error message, I have also tried deleteing Itunes and installing an older version, still I get the same error message !

Having read many other questions similar to mine, I have also checked the QuickTime files in my System32 folder and I have the following:
C:\Windows\System32\quick.ime
C:\Windows\System32\QuickTime.qtp
C:\Windows\System32\QuickTime.qts
C:\Windows\System32\QuickTimeVR.qtx

You should only have two Quicktime files in your system32 folder.
Quicktime.qtp should not be there. It's likely that you have installed something such as a codec pack that has installed additional Quicktime components.
Try dragging Quicktime.qtp out of your system32 folder to your desktop and see if Quicktime works. If it does, try iTunes.
Were there any Quicktime folders in your system32 folder? If so you don't want those either.

Itunes will not open on Win 8 saying The Procedure entry point.....

I had all sorts of issues getting iTunes to run on Windows 8 - but found a solution here somewhere.
Suddenly today it is giving a massive long error message... The procedure entry point?videoTracks@QTMovie......... could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\Program Files (x86) Common Files \ Apple | Apple Application support \WebKit.dll
I have repaured, uninstalled, reinstalled, uninstalled, downloaded a new version, installed/.... so far with restarting etc it has taken ages and nothing is changing the status.
Any ideas anyone please?

LR 1.3.1 suddenly will not open

For unknown reasons, LR 1.3.1 will not open under Win Vista. The error screen "Microsoft Visual C ++ Runtime Error" appears with the dialogue "This operation has requested the Runtime to it in an unusual way".
Using the Restore command produced no success. I than uninstalled and reinstalled Lightroom to no avail.

There are a couple of things you could try (one at a time):
--Move or rename LR's Preferences file. If that doesn't work, put it back.
--Move or rename the print presets folder. Ditto.
Instructions for finding both are on this website.

Firefox will not open in Vista SP2 after installing software for a Brother MFC printer.

I have 7 computer network. All the machines are running Vista SP2. I recently purchased a Brother MFC 9325cw, and installed the printer/scanner drivers as well as a program called scansoft paperport on each of the machines individually.
I left out the some of the bulkier aspects of the driver package, namely the brother control center because it seems to eat up a lot ram at start up.
Since I have installed the printer driver on my computers, several of them will not open firefox.
I have tried re-installing firefox on one machine so far to no avail.
Next I will try to re-install the brother software. Has anyone else encountered this problem before?

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full, unrestricted, access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Yes, the Old Master file has a folder for each year where I find all photos from that specific year. I am attaching a screen shot of the file.
In the meantime i have managed to download all photos (it did not download any video files though in mpg, avi, 3gp, m4v,mp4 and mov format) to a new iphoto library. Unfortunately the photos are quite mixed and often doubled up. I ma considering to purchase iphoto library which checks all duplicates in iphoto. this will save me a lot of time. What do you think?

1. Check to see if this file APSDaemon.exe is the problem here.
Close your iTunes.
Press Ctrl-Alt-Del key and choose Task Manager. In the "Processes" Tab, select the file APSDaemon.exe and click End Prosses button, then close the task manager window.
2. Go to. START button, type in
MSCONFIG
Hit ENTER
Click STARTUP Tab, Uncheck "Apple Push", click OK.
Restart Windows.
3. Rename file "APSDaemon.exe' into "APSDaemon1.exe" from this location:
32bit Windows C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\
64bit Windows C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\
(Take note that this is a temporary fix which will also disable the capability of WIFI SYNC)
