FF3.x: Trying to deploy via Citrix w/o Location Bar & Search Bar (kiosk mode)

Is is a userpref that would allow me to disable the search and address bars?

Bump.  No reply after typing all that all day?

  • Pointer slow when deployed via Citrix XenApp

    I have Acrobat Standard XI installed on Windows Server 2008 R2 boxes and deployed to users via Citrix.
    Users have reported an issue whereby the mouse pointer is jittery as though the refresh rate on it is low whenever the select tool changes to the pointer below:
    This only happens when the application is deployed via Citrix
    When I remotely connect to the server and run the application I do not experience the same issue.
    It only happens with this particular pointer, all others are fine
    This only affects Acrobat Standard XI, Reader XI is fine.
    We have raised the issue separately with Citrix themselves, but I would like to know if anyone else has experienced this issue and what, if anything the resolution was?

    Adobe Reader was installed and running on all Citrix servers since their inception over a year ago.
    Recently, we installed Adobe Standard on each server and during installation Adobe Standard asked whether Reader or Standard should be used as the default program.  Adobe reader was selected and 80-85% of the time, the Citrix servers observe this rule.
    On other occasions, when users with access to Reader open a PDF, Citrix will present Adobe Standard instead of the default program.  At first, I thought it might be caused by a user with Standard already open but further testing proved Adobe Standard can be presented to a user of Reader even if there is no open session of Standard.

  • Generating OVA from VSphere Studio, when trying to deploy via OVA Template, missing Custom Properties page?

    This has got to be something simple I'm missing. However I am able to build a OVA package using Vmware Studio, when I use "File->Deploy OVF Template" on the Vcenter server the original OVA was built on it works fine, shows me all the Networking and Custom Application Properties I set up. However, if I take that OVA to a completely different vsphere box (stand alone), those "pages" are missing, there is no section for configuring the Network or my own custom properties.
    Is there something simple I'm missing?
    Thanks!

    That is true, Scott. I forgot to mention that I had manually altered the workflow files to change out the old content type id with the new one. The workflow *is* available in the new location, it's just the task form fields that are messed up.

  • Issues with running permission scripts on Hoted desktop via Citrix and when deploying via SCCM

    I am running a permissioning VBScript which runs when I do a standalone insallation manually running the power shell commands to add and publish the application.
    This only runs vis SCCM when a machine installation is acrried out but not a per user installation. Any ideas?
    The same script seems to run sometimes & sometimes does not on a hosted desktop with aps publish via citrix from the appv server. Any ideas?. A coppy of my Deploymentconfig.xml file userscript section that calls the script is below
    <UserScripts>
          <StartProcess RunInVirtualEnvironment="true">
            <ApplicationId>[{AppVPackageRoot}]\Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit)\Photoshop.exe</ApplicationId>
            <Path>[{AppVPackageRoot}]\..\Scripts\AdobeSerialization.exe</Path>
            <Arguments>adobe_prtk --tool=VolumeSerialize --provfile=[{AppVPackageRoot}]\..\Scripts\prov.xml</Arguments>
            <Wait RollbackOnError="false" />
          </StartProcess>
          <StartVirtualEnvironment>
            <Path>WSCRIPT.EXE</Path>
            <Arguments>[{AppVPackageRoot}]\..\Scripts\VFSCACLS.vbs -guid 6d0756af-b755-493b-8cee-4299e8666978 -error -name "Adobe Photoshop CS6"</Arguments>
            <Wait RollbackOnError="false" />
          </StartVirtualEnvironment>
        </UserScripts>
    The guys in the build team reckon this is an application issues but I can't see how it can be if the applications runs when manually calling the powersehell commands. Also like I said on the Hosted desktop one minutes the script runs and one minute it does
    not.
    Can someone help please?

    Hello,
    If deploying the application to the user, and the configuration file is updated as part of the content and distributed to the DPs, and then downloaded to the client and the client is enabled to run scripts - no I never had that issue.
    If I had something which didn't work I would usually verify what is on the Distribution Point?
    You can download the SCCM 2012 R2 toolkit to verify what is on the DPs;
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=36213
    If it is deployed to the client - it means you can read the client log-file from SCCM. See the AppEnforce.log as a potential candidate;
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh427342.aspx#BKMK_AppManageLog
    If it gets properly parsed by the App-V Client you can check the App-V event logs, see Tim Mangans blog post about enabling further debug-logs;
    http://www.tmurgent.com/TMBlog/?p=1247
    As I can't see what is happening within your Environment I would redo all the steps and verify what the results were of each step. If one step fails, I would then post what step I had performed up until that point, what the result were of each step and what
    was happening within the final step that I would consider a failure.

  • Trying to deploy IE10 via WSUS... doesn't seem to work

    I am trying to deploy IE 10 to my windows 7 machines using WSUS.  I have imported the update from the catalog and approved it for install in my workstations group.
    I still have a hybrid environment of XP and Windows 7 - but of the 112 Windows 7 machines we've got, my goal is to get all of them to IE 10.  My WSUS says I'm at 96% installed / not applicable, but that number doesn't accurately represent what I am
    seeing.
    In addition, I sat at a couple of my Windows 7 w/ IE 8 or 9 on it, and tried to force check and install (wuauclt /detectnow) and it never seems to find the IE 10 install.
    I am quite certain that I am doing something wrong as I am nowhere near a WSUS expert, so I need help
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi,
    Please make sure that these systems have ALL of the required prerequisites as discussed in
    KB2818833.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards, Yan Li
    This will help for sure as I've made a lot of tests and if you don't have all KB from the link you gave, IE10 will not apply on computers.
    For me it was only related to the following one :
    2670838 A platform update is available for Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1
    This update provides improved features and performance in Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1. It includes updates to the following DirectX components: Direct2D, DirectWrite, Direct3D, Windows Imaging Component (WIC), and Windows Advanced Rasterization
    Platform (WARP). Additionally, it includes updates to the Windows Animation Manager (WAM), the XPS Document API, and the MPEG-2 Video Decoder. After you install this update, you may have to restart your computer.

  • Lync 2013 x64 silent client deployment via SCCM 2012 SP1

    Greetings everyone!
    I ran into a problem with Lync 2013 x64 silent deployment.
    I need to provide every workstation with Lync 2013 client, so i decided to use deployment via SCCM 2012 sp1.
    I created 2 msp files with OCT, one based on x86 Office 2013 Proplus, and other based on x64 Office 2013 Proplus.
    Added them as applications to sccm software library.
    Deployment of Lync 2013 x86 application was a success with over than 80% compliance.
    But all Lync 2013 x64 automatic installations finish with different errors.
    I created special device collection for workstations with office 2010 x64 and 2013 x64, because i can't install other architecture products once it has x64 product installed.
    My membership query-rules for this collection:
    Office 2013 x64
    select SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceID,SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceType,SMS_R_SYSTEM.Name,SMS_R_SYSTEM.SMSUniqueIdentifier,SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceDomainORWorkgroup,SMS_R_SYSTEM.Client from SMS_R_System inner join SMS_G_System_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE on SMS_G_System_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE.ResourceId
    = SMS_R_System.ResourceId where UPPER(SMS_G_System_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE.SoftwareCode) = "{90150000-0011-0000-1000-0000000FF1CE}"
    Office 2010 x64
    select SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceID,SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceType,SMS_R_SYSTEM.Name,SMS_R_SYSTEM.SMSUniqueIdentifier,SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceDomainORWorkgroup,SMS_R_SYSTEM.Client from SMS_R_System inner join SMS_G_System_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE on SMS_G_System_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE.ResourceId
    = SMS_R_System.ResourceId where UPPER(SMS_G_System_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE.SoftwareCode) = "{90140000-0011-0000-1000-0000000FF1CE}"
    My application deployment type points to setup.exe in office 2013 x64 installation folder, where i created msp file in updates folder via OCT and edited config.xml file in proplus.ww folder.
    So my installation program looks like this setup.exe /adminfile updates\1lync.msp /config proplus.ww\config.xml
    The same configuration works with Lync 2013 x86 deployment, except other setup folders.
    When i try running installation program setup.exe with /adminfile and /config parameters locally, it installs successfully without errors or warnings.
    I'm trying to find out problem source, does anyone have ideas what I am doing wrong?
    Also i'm trying to reduce office 2013 installation folder size, what subfolders are necessary for Office 2013 proplus installation (still installing only lync with common files and tools)? Because now 3.5 GB package is quite hard to distribute to sccm secondary
    sites with deployment point.
    Thanks in advance.

              That's true. Several customers have asked to keep the deployment in it's original form instead of compressing
              it in .war file. Currently there's a known issue with engg.

              I followed the sequence you described and tried to deploy the webapp on managed servers. I do not get the errors

  • Can Adobe Air 3.1 be deployed via Group Policy?

    I am looking for a definitive answer as to whether or not Adobe Air 3.1 can be deployed via Group Policy?  I've found material on the web that is very contradictory.  Can it be done and if so how?  I can't find any solid instructions on how to deploy this application and need to have it installed on about 60 desktops.
    We are trying to deploy the Salesforce.com Desktop Chatter application.  Any helpful info is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hi Kevin,
    I replied via email yesterday, but in case anyone else is following along here's what I said:
    For GPO deployment, we don't officially "support" it (ie. we don't test for it internally), however I did run across this recent post where an admin had success.

  • Web as 640 sp9 hangs by step "deploy via SDM/J2EE"

    Hi,
    I tried to install the sp9 for many times - very frustrating - can anyone help please ?
    Follwing products have been installed:
    1. webas 640, sp3
    2. webas 640, sp8
    3. ep6 sp3
    4. ep6 sp6
    5. But now it struggles - I have problems with applying the <b>patch 9 to webas</b> , the steps until to "deploy online" were sucessfull, but the step <b>"deploy via SDM/J2EE" has an error</b>. In the SAP MMC the process SDM was yellow, and stopped. The file callSdmViaSapinst.log shows:
    <i>Nov 24, 2004 8:48:18 AM  Info: SDM operation mode successfully set to: Integrated
    Nov 24, 2004 8:48:18 AM  Info: Initializing Network Manager (50017)
    Nov 24, 2004 8:48:19 AM  Info: Checking if another SDM is running on port 50018
    Nov 24, 2004 8:48:19 AM  Error: Could not start SDM - another Server may be running already.
    Nov 24, 2004 8:48:19 AM  Error: Another SDM is running already for this SDM_HOME directory. Exiting. Throwable: com.sap.sdm.client_server.launch.SDMRunningException Throwable message: Another SDM instance is running on this host</i>
    So I stopped the SDM with <i>stopserver</i>, started it again with start <i>sdm jstartup "mode=standalone"</i>
    and restarted sapinst - now it worked until the component com.sap.rprof.remoteProfile , now I have the message:
    <i>ERROR: NOT updated. The Deploy Service returned the following error: For detailed information see the log file of the Deploy Service. Exception is:
    com.sap.engine.services.rmi_p4.P4ConnectionException: Possible problem: no available running server node. Check your running servers.</i>
    What now ? I stopped the server, restarted the sapinst from the beginning - the same result. Whats wrong ?
    Thanx a lot,
    Martin

    I had this same SDM issue during an install. I simply stopped and started the instance. and then restarted the install.
    However I would review the consiole logs and see why the server would not be running. If the server starts up and then dies it is probably something related to the java paramters. If you changed the paramters via configtool and you properly apply them, I would restart the instance and then kick of install again...
    This process worked for me.
    Hope this helps,
    John

  • Security Error while trying to deploy my project to the application server from jDeve

    Dear All,
    I'm trying to deploy my project to the application server from jDeveloer but i got the following error :
    Invoking Oracle9iAS admin tool...

    Security error: This operation was denied. The admin.jar utility can not be used to perform operations against OPMN managed OC4J instnaces. Please use Enterprise Manager or dcmctl instead. Refer to the Oracle9iAS Admin Guide or the OC4J User's Guide for more details.
    Exit status of Oracle9iAS admin tool (-deploy): 1

    Any help will be appreciated
    Regards,
    Mohammed Amin

    In JDev 9.0.2, to deploy to the full 9iAS server (instead of just Oracle9iAS Containers for J2EE [OC4J]), you have to use Enterprise Manager or DCM to deploy your application.
    In JDev 9.0.3 Preview, there is a way to have JDev perform a deployment via DCM for you, if you install a DCM Servlet into 9iAS that comes with JDeveloper.
    By JDev 9.0.3 Production, if you also use Oracle9iAS 9.0.3 Production, it should be possible to deploy to iAS 9.0.3 out-of-the-box.

  • Does is matter that I have mac computer & want adobe flash to view work material via citrix/windows?

    Ok... this is probably a completely ignorant computer question, but I have a macbook and have been trying now for hours to figure out how to view work training via citrix that connects me to windows explorer somehow (b/c I'm somehow connecting to my work network). So after logging into citrix & my net learning via explorer, I get a msg that states I need the latest version of Adobe flash to view the task.  So I went and downloaded the newest 11.whatever version for Mac OS 10.6 or higher and reloged in and still no luck.  So I tried restarting computer.... tried logging into citrix via safarie, firefox, and chrome.  NO LUCK.  Then it somehow dawned on me that perhaps since I'm logging into citrix/explorer, maybe I need Adobe Flash for Windows???  So I tried to do that and my computer wasn't having that and stated it encountered errors.
    So am I just chasing a lost cause???
    PLEASE HELP

    So you do a remote login to a Windows server?
    Not quite sure what you are doing with Windows Explorer; do you mean Windows Internet Explorer?
    If so, you need to install Flash Player for Internet Explorer on that Windows server.  What version is currently installed there?  See http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/

  • SAP MI deployment via thrid party tool

    Hello,
    We are trying to deploy SAP MI 7.0 via third party tool.  Unfortunately, according to SAP note 853508 (MI 7.0 release restrictions), generating setup packages is only supported from a Windows server.  We're running on Solaris.
    These are the components that gets install after synchronizing:
    MI7.0 SP15 patch
    9.12 DB2E
    MAM30 Laptop SR5
    1.  Are there any command to install the download zip files or components manually?  We can kick that off with our deployment tool.  OR....
    2. Included the components into the MI setup.exe or MSI installation?
    Are any of those option possible?
    I have tried capturing the components but seems that the individual user configs contains the info if the components have been installed.
    Thanks,
    Anthony

    Hi Anthony
    Unfortunately it is not possible to integrate the MI deployment mechanism with any third part tool.  Deployment is purely a functionality built into the MI Client Framework providing no mechanism to integrate with any other third party tools.  The only solution to your problem is to use setup package but since you are using Solaris system, this also wouldn't work for you.  Is it not possible to have a 32 bit Windows Server for creating a setup package which would completely solve your problem?
    Best Regards
    Siva

  • Using Connect Via Citrix

    Do you know if there are known issues for viewing meetings
    via Citrix? Our users report that when they click on the meeting
    link from Outlook running via Citrix that they cannot connect.
    Thanks

    I'm connecting to the citrix via a PC. When I try to make a participant using a neo station a presenter, it tries to install the flash add-in but our citrix rejects it. how do we get this add-in onto our server?
