FF4 - Mouse no longer works in Google Toolbar list. Suggestions ?

I have upgraded to FF4
The google toolbar works in the sense that the drop down list displays correctly, but you cannot use the mouse to point to an item. You have to press the down arrow key to navigate to the item and then press enter.
Is this a FF or a Google problem ?

That problem is listed as a known issue with the Google Toolbar.

  • Bluetooth mouse no longer works

My Microsoft Bluetooth 5000 mouse no longer works after install of the latest 10.6.4 update
any reason this could be? (Also forgive the use of a microsoft mouse haha)

I had the same issue since the latest OSX upgrade. Bluetooth mouse 5000 just stopped working and couldnt be set up again.
I installed the latest Intellipoint 8 drivers from microsoft.
    google microsoftmouse_d279.dmg and run it.
    reboot the mac after installing.
going through the usual mouse setup in system preferences still gives you the same error so forget that. Instead, go to Bluetooth settings and add new device manually. finds the mouse and connects.
    hope this helps.
BTW.. BT mouse 5000 is the best mouse i own and i have many!!! was devastated when it stopped working. Happy to be using it now again...

  • I ugraded to 6.0 and now all my info is lost. I no longer have my google toolbar..

What happen to all my info and google bookmarks and toolbar after I updated to 6.o ? How do I get them back? I will never update firefox ever again.. I am getting so I do not want to use firefox any more do to this on going problem with your updates.
I see others have written in complaining about them loosing their Google tool bars as well. I ask again what are you going to do about this problem?????

Google decided that they will no longer produce the Google Toolbar for Firefox 5 and newer versions. Future versions of Google toolbar will only work with IE7-9. Google Toolbar is not available on any other browser, even Google's own browser.

  • Double Click on Magic Mouse No Longer Works after 10.9.1 Mavericks Upgrade

I just recently updated to Mavericks 10.9.1 and once the computer restarted, I noticed that double-click on my Magic Mouse no longer worked.  I searched the forum and couldn't find anyone experiencing this.  I also went into System Preferences --> Mouse but there is nothing about enabling double-click or adjusting double-click speed on there.
Would appreciate if someone were able to help me solve this.  Thanks!

    Try resetting the PRAM.
    Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.

I have updated to Mozilla 16.0.1 and yahoo toolbar 2.4.8.20120412011105. Search assist now no longer works on the toolbar, nor does the enter key. I've reinstalled both Mozilla and the yahoo toolbar. I've followed the instructions given in the customize toolbar section, but I am thinking that perhaps this toolbar just doesn't work with Mozilla?

  • Keyboard and mouse no longer work when booting into Rhapsody

I still have a bootable partition with the last release of Rhapsody (aka Mac OS X Server) on my Power Mac G4 but it's been a while (years!) since I actually booted it up. The G4 also has bootable partitions with Mac OS X 10.2, 10.3 and 10.4 (and is in daily use running 10.4.11).
I used to boot into Rhapsody occasionally, mostly for interest's sake, occasionally to test Unix software on legacy systems; I haven't tried to do so since installing 10.4 until now.
When I booted up from the Rhapsody partition today, all went well -- the system started up fine, and the login screen appeared -- but the keyboard and mouse no longer work. I even got out the original keyboard and mouse that came with the G4, with no luck.
I assume that recent firmware updates have bypassed support for Rhapsody. I guess I'm not surprised -- it was a developer-only release, after all. But has anyone a solution?

Adding to the above: I also tried plugging in an Microsoft USB keyboard at the point when Windows freezes at the Windows log-in screen. The keyboard is not recognized and the only way I can leave this screen is to power-off the computer.

  • Magic mouse no longer working in Windows 7

Hi, I posted a topic under the Windows section but got no answer. When I first installed Windows 7 on my Mac (Sorry poor Mac but I had to), my Magic Mouse worked seamlessly with Windows until recently, I booted up in Se7en and my mouse no longer worked, I can't find any trace of bluetooth peripherals on the computer, in "Administration tools" and "Hardware manager" (or whatever it's called) I can't see a sign of my Broadcom Bluetooth adaptor. The bluetooth drivers are installed and I can see that in "Add or remove programs" so I don't know how to fix this. I already tried reinstalling the drivers from the boot camp DVD, and I also uninstalled Boot Camp, reinstalled it and updated it. Nothing works. If you have any ideas apart reinstalling Windows I would really appreciate because using my trackpad on a desk while having a Magic Mouse on the side (especially in Windows the trackpad *****) is driving me nuts. Thanks
    Scott

    Hi eg1978
Welcome to the HP Forums! I see that you are having issues with your two finger scrolling. I have a couple of things for you to try. This HP document Using and Configuring the TouchPad has a section on Turning individual gestures off and on and make sure that the two finger scrolling is enabled. If that does work then reinstall your Synaptics TouchPad Driver.

After not using my macbook pro for 10 days, my wireless mouse no longer works. I had the computer turned off. I've changed the batteries, gone to universal preferences, mouse preferences but the computer won't recognize the mouse. Any suggestions?

Got it. Thanks. I deleted the mouse (not an apple, but a logitech which has worked fine for me) and then re-discovered it and it's working. Appreciate the advice.

  • With the newest version of Firefox, I can no longer use the Google toolbar! Also, some of my Webroot protection had to be inactivated. When will these features be able to be used with Firefox again?

With the new version of Firefox, the Google toolbar and something with my Webroot protection had to be inactivated to install. I use many of the features on the Google toolbar daily, and miss not being able to use it. When I try to reinstall, the message is that it is incompatible with Firefox 5.0. And I am not sure which features of my Webroot protection had to be deactivated for Firefox to install and run, but I want to retain my firewall and virus protection. And I MUCH prefer to use Firefox! So - I know you are always developing and improving. When will these become compatible again with Firefox.

The Google Toolbar is from Google and support for it can only come from Google, and Google has eliminated it from Firefox, and it never was in Google. Even Google has indicated that the features are available in Firefox through other extensions. But the features are really available in Firefox even without extensions from what I've seen because Firefox has very powerful bookmarks and knowing how to use them with JavaScript, substitution, and keyword shortcuts is a key to using Firefox.
'''The Google Toolbar is no longer supported by Google in Firefox 5 and up''', you may be able to get what you want from it for a limited time, the directions to install the Google Toolbar were posted before Google actually announced dropping support.

    Hi,
Please check if this happens in [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe%20Mode Safe Mode]. Safe mode disables the installed '''Extensions''', and themes ('''Appearance''') in '''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > '''Add-ons'''. Hardware acceleration is also temporarily disabled - the manual setting is '''Tools''' > '''Options''' > '''Advanced''' > '''General''' > [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Options%20window%20-%20Advanced%20panel?as=u '''Use hardware acceleration when available''']. All these settings/options/add-ons can also be individually or collectively disabled/enabled/changed in Firefox normal mode to check if an extension, theme, option or hardware acceleration is causing issues. Disabling/enabling hardware acceleration, and some types of add-ons in normal mode may require a Firefox restart.

  • CP60-615DX Touchpad and external mouse no longer work after WIndows 7 SP1 update

Let me start by saying I am in the IT field, though clearly far from being great at it. I was updating a CP60-615DX at work with Win 7 x64 SP1. It installed with no errors or anything I'd consider abnormal. Once it was finished, the touchpad no long worked, as well as any mouse I'd hook up via Usb. So I checked Device manager, and the Touchpad is listed with the yellow exclamation mark, as well as mice I hook up. So I did what any respectable IT guy would do, I went to HP and downloaded x64 drivers for the Touchpad port and installed them. But they didn't fix the issue, literally nothing happened. So I installed the latest chipset drivers. Still nothing changed. So I uninstalled the device and manually added it by doing the advanced driver install for a new device, pointing it to the directory where the .exe file had placed the drivers. ...Nothing. So I uninstalled SP1,.... nothing. After uninstalling SP1, redid every aforementioned step, nothing. So my question is, **bleep**? Anyone know another way to fix an issue where the scrolling devices stop working and the drivers won't fix the issue?
Btw, the user had never set up windows restore, and my only other thought is pulling personal documents off and restoring to factory defaults. One more bit of info before I forget, when I went into Windows Recovery (which loads a pre-environment mini OS for you to restore and fix issues), the mouse worked, telling me it's not a hardware issue, it's a Windows vs devices issue.

    Hi,
According to your description, since system reinstallation is not helpful, it's probably a hardware problem, it would be better to check if it is the device itself problem.

  • I have an IBM Think Pad and since installing the latest version of Firfox, the trackpoint scrolling on my mouse no longer works

I have an IBM Think Pad and since installing the latest version of Firfox, the trackpoint scrolling on my mouse no longer works

Try to modify the pref ui.trackpoint_hack.enabled on the about:config page from the default value -1 to 0 or 1 to see if that makes the scroll pad work.<br />
Close and restart Firefox after changing the pref.
To open the <i>about:config</i> page, type <b>about:config</b> in the location (address) bar and press the "<i>Enter</i>" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.<br />
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.<br />
*Use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a preference more easily.
*Preferences that have been modified show as bold (user set).
*Preferences can be reset to the default via the right-click context menu if they are user set
*Preferences can be changed via the right-click context menu: Modify (String or Integer) or Toggle (Boolean)
