FF4 print to PDF (Acro Pro) renders text as image (FF3 did not)

When I create a PDF with Acro Pro using FF4 the text is rendered as an image. FF3 did not do this (other browsers render text as text as well). Win 7 Pro 64-bit, FF 4.0

Oh man, you really made my day!!
This nasty error has been torturing me for several weeks now.
I installed and reinstalled and again all Adobe software, with no effect, I checked and rechecked all settings with other pc's since they all made perfect PDF's.
But not this one!!
Unchecking the "hardware acceleration box" did the trick.
Who would have thought of that one!!
Just look at my happy face now.
Mozilla should really fix this weird bug.

Sure-glad to help you. You will not lose any data by changing synching to MacBook Pro from imac. You have set up Time Machine, right? that's how you'd do your backup, so I was told, and how I do my backup on my mac.  You should be able to set a password for it. Save it.  Your stuff should be saved there. So if you want to make your MacBook Pro your primary computer,  I suppose,  back up your stuff with Time machine, turn off Time machine on the iMac, turn it on on the new MacBook Pro, select the hard drive in your Time Capsule, enter your password, and do a backup from there. It might work, and it might take a while, but it should go. As for clogging the hard drive, I can't say. Depends how much stuff you have, and the hard drive's capacity.  As for moving syncing from your iMac to your macbook pro, should be the same. Your phone uses iTunes to sync and so that data should be in the cloud. You can move your iTunes Library to your new Macbook pro
you should be able to sync your phone on your new MacBook Pro. Don't know if you can move the older backups yet-maybe try someone else, anyways,
This handy article from Apple explains how
How to move your iTunes library to a new computer - Apple Support''
don't forget to de-authorize your iMac if you don't want to play purchased stuff there
and re-authorize your new macBook Pro
time machine is an application, and should be found in the Applications folder. it is built in to OS X, so there is nothing else to buy. double click on it, get it going, choose the Hard drive in your Time capsule/Airport as your backup Time Machine  and go for it.  You should see a circle with an arrow on the top right hand of your screen (the Desktop), next to the bluetooth icon, and just after the wifi and eject key (looks sorta like a clock face). This will do automatic backups  of your stuff.

  • Printing a PDF from Adobe - Garbled Text

This might sound like a strange thing to do but I have tried this many times, hoping each time it would work. Basically I create a PDF file in Adobe 7.0 Pro. I insert all sorts of text, callouts, and other shapes. I don't want to send this file to my client because if they print without comments they get the wrong image. Additionally sometimes I might be hiding information which is on the previous PDF file and I don't want the client to see it.
So when I have the PDF file complete I try to print to a PDF so the comments become incorporated into the file. This works fine except that the text always shows up garbled. Any solutions out there on how to get the text not to garble?
I have read through other posts on this site and see that there are text garbling issues.
(My alternate solution is to use other programs to create the information then print to PDF for the client. this requires converting the PDF information to other types of files or some other type of file manipulation, which always looses quality.)

Acrobat 8 and 9 allow you to flatten the comments to make them part of the pdf. I don't recall if that is possible in 7. Try looking in the help file.

  • When I print a pdf, Acrobat Pro XI freezes. I can't even close it with the task manager. Any suggestions?

The document will print, but then Acrobat Pro is frozen and I can't do anything. What should I try?

    Hi,
    Thanks for reporting the issue.
Is it happening with all Pdf files or any specific category of Pdf files or only with a specific Pdf file ?
For investigation, please attach sample  PDF file, or you may share your email id for communication.
please specify the OS platform details and Acrobat version !!
Which printer you are using, and also please check the behavior While using AdobePDF or other printers (if available) to give a Print ?

  • Adobe InDesign 5 won't print Adobe PDF (Acrobat Pro 9) completely.

I just bought a new Dell XPS 14 with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. I installed my CS Standard 5.0 and amongst a few other bugs with InDesign, I cannot print documents as PDFs. Only the first few pages will print.
I looked for an update and can't find anything...I am looking for recomendations as I have a draft due to a client.

Is the problem that you can't print the PDF (which is not an ID problem), or that you are trying to print your ID file to PDF and that fails? If the latter, do you see an error message of any sort? And why do you feel you must print to PDF instaed of Export?
Have you installed all the patches for the Suite?

  • Installed upgrade of Premiere Pro CC to "CC 2014" but did not know it required payment. Now my PAID license has been reverted to an expired trial.

I needed to open a Premiere Pro CC 2014 project on a computer which only has Premiere Pro CC 7.3.3, so I installed the upgrade to CC 2014. I did not know it required payment (a warning would have been nice).
Now my PAID license has been reverted to an expired trial. How do I change it back?
    Thanks,

    Hi Philip,
The attachment didn't come through, but if the problem occurs with just one file, you can use the
File Conversion Issue form to send us your file and Adobe will take a closer look at it.

  • Phone Sent Text Message That I Did Not Send

My friend received a text message from me that I did not send.  She showed me her phone, that it came from my phone.
I showed, my text messages and that I did not.
When she responded to it, the message did come back to me.
What my phone hacked?  Was her phone hacked?  What could have caused this?

While I have people tell me that all the time, I also see some of these same people leave their phones on the counter in the next room. This is not in their "possession the entire time" even though they claim it to be. You would be the first person I have EVER seen with their phone in their "possession the entire time". It is simply not the case in most situations.
    Regardless...
You may want to check out THIS app available on iPhones and THIS app available on android devices. It may shed some light on the subject. There are many other available ways to spoof text messages.

  • Friends Receiving Texts from Me I Did NOT Send

Apparently over the past week my friends have been getting a strange poem texted from my number that I did not send them, the text does not appear on my iPhone 4S either, the text says:
"because i've taken upon the challenge
to write a book this month
chup and i have resorted to the one
thing we avoid like a mortal enemy:
    a schedule.
each hour is designated as a workspace
each day has an ample to do list
    we're dedicated to accomplishing
    the work.
    with my time allotted out
and not much for wiggle room
i am surprised to find how much more
i get done in a day.
    yesterday i wrote,
    i cooked
    i worked
    i cleaned
    i fed the baby
    (interspersing)
    i napped
i read books to the children
    and just before sunset
    we hiked the dusty
    shoreline trail.
    it makes me wonder
if having a schedule gives me
    so much more time,
    will my second mortal enemy
    (a budget)
    give me
    more
    money?
thanks Page and dog Dixie for the beautiful evening on the trail.
this month I've decided to write a book while simultaneously breastfeeding my baby and battling the postpartum blues. should be a blast. will i get it done?
    stay tuned . . "
Pretty strange....thanks in advance for any help.

  • Picture logo becomes blurry when printing to PDF (Adobe Pro X 10.1.12) via Microsoft Excel 2013

    Hi,
When I look at the Excel preview before printing, everything seems ok. When the PDF file is generated, the logo comes out fuzzy (click on the image so really notice the difference). On the page, only 1 of the two logos are afflicted (I had to hide some parts for privacy concerns - it's for work). I tried on other workstations from the same file and they all work well, and with the same configuration of Adobe. Any idea of what I could be doing wrong?
    Thank you!!

  • Photoshop to pdf creates text and images that are not sharp. Why?

I know that Photoshop is not the premier pdf creation software. I do have InDesign as well, but I'm much more familiar and comfortable with Photoshop (I have the CC versions of both) so I prefer to use it as my design and layout tool.
However, when I save as a pdf the resultant pdf file is blurry for images and text, not horribly so, but not sharp and clear as I would like. My pdf files are for the web and emailing so I need to keep the file size in check, but even when I up the PS resolution to 300psi it still is not as clear as I would like. Still blurry.
What do you Photoshop experts out there do to produce the sharpest pdf possible? Is it even possible using Photoshop only or do you have to use InDesign or Acrobat Pro to get the clarity and shapness?

This is kind of like saying "I know that a screwdriver is the correct tool for inserting screws, but I'm much more comfortable using a hammer, so I prefer to just hammer the screws in."
It works, sort of. But the results will never be as good. And you wouldn't want to use the screwdriver with nails, either. There are two different tool (programs) for a reason, and I think once you learn InDesign, you will find it to be a much better layout tool than Photoshop.

  • Printing a PDF file from Chrome and Firefox - Image missing

I created about 20 marketing sheets for work using the same default settings and a template. They contain several inserted images of drawings and floor plans on each sheet (saved individually). When I try to print a couple of different files directly from the Chrome viewer or the Firefox viewer, it removes one of the images I inserted into my pdf. There are about four of 20 sheets that I am having this issue with. It does show when I view it in IE's viewer though and also when I download the file and open from my downloads. For ease of use, I really need to have it show when viewed in Chrome and Firefox.  Any ideas?

Make sure you're opening the file using the Adobe plugin, not the built-in
    PDF plugins of these browsers:

  • HT4356 I checked everything out and had no problem printing from IPAD/MINI using the HP Photosmart 6520 printer, but the next day, using same application, my HP did not show, but was looking for the AirPrint Printer, what am I doing wrong?

Using IPAD2, IPAD MINi, HP photosmartE6520 set up on wireless network.  No problem printing from my devices, but the following day, it is looking for AirPrint printer, why?

    Hello lenc48,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having a few issues when it comes to printing from your mac as well as some two sided printing issues.
I do have a some suggestions that we can try in the attempt to troubleshoot this issue.
First off, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
Please remove the usb cable (if using wireless, disregard this step) from the printer and from the Mac and leave it disconnected until further notice.
Please click on the first link that will give you instructions on Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Once the software has been removed, please disable any anti virus protection that you may have on the Mac.
The next step we are going to take is downloading the HP Photosmart 6520 e-All-in-One Printer Full Feature Software and Drivers - OS X 10.9 Mavericks.
The installation will prompt you when to connect the usb cable (You will see a prompt for a wireless connection as well if that is the connection type you would like to use) so please do not connect the cable until prompted to do so.
If you are still having issues, feel free to write me back or you can contact HP Total care direct.  If you are calling within North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, click here: click here.
    Thanks for your time.
