  • Why is the view page source menu item deleted in FF7.0.1

    Why is the option''' page source''' removed from the menu view in FF7.0.1? I still can use the ctrl+u shortcut, but somehow I prefer the menu route and it makes it easier to explain this feature to others.

    It has been moved.

  • How do I retrieve lost Bookmark icons most of which disappeared when I updated to Firefox 8?

    After I updated to Firefox 8 I noticed that more than half of the itemsin my bookmarks list had lost their icons which were replaced by a dotted line in the shape of a square. I tried to go back to using Firefox 7 using System Restore. The restore was successful except that Firefox could not be opened. So I undid the restore and this allows Firefox to open and all seems ok apart from the fact that the majority of the items in my Bookmark list have disappeared and have been replaced as described. Can anybody help?

    Hi everyone. At issue is that FF8, obviously due to a coding bug, no longer is retrieving the favicon from the root of a website's www directory website in some situations. I tried starting FF8 with all add-ons disabled, just to verify that an add-on wasn't causing the issue. The add-on Check Places will restore the missing favicons, but the favicon will disappear as soon as you visit the bookmarked URL if the favicon was missing after you upgraded to FF8.
    Hehe. I am not too thrilled with Mozilla's new rapid development cycle. FF8 is simply a tweaked version of FF7 and as such it should have been a 7X upgrade. But I guess Mozilla wants Firefox to get up to version 10000 before Chrome does. Silly.

  • Drop Down Field issue with Acrobat 8.0 and Acrobat 7.0

    Hi All,
         I have a dynamic table with a drop down field  which will be filled from a WD context.The minimum row count for the table is  one.
    The problem is i was able to get the Drop down values for all the rows  in Acrobat Reader 8.0 and i was able to get drop down values only for the first row(minimum row count is one) in Acrobat Reader 7.0.
    What could be the difference?
    Thanks
    Gopal

    It's a result of Mozilla's annoying rapid-update policy. We can load plugins (i.e. can display a PDF file within the Firefox window) but cannot load extensions (the toolbar) unless they are marked as compatible with the running version of the browser. Not only is that version now changing every 6 weeks, but developers are forbidden to mark an extension as being compatible before the new version is released to market (i.e. we cannot certify against betas). With each major release in the new Mozilla rapid cycle, the type of code Adobe uses (binary XPCOM) has to be recompiled from scratch - so as of right now the Create PDF extension doesn't work in FF7 even if you turn off compatibility checks. It should work, but Firefox won't allow it to execute.
    It means that every time Mozilla pushes a new major version to the public, XPCOM extension developers have to push an update as well. Adobe already get hammered for requiring users to update too often! However, each time Acrobat and Adobe Reader push a scheduled patch they should catch up with whatever version of FF exists at that time. The next Acrobat Family patch is due mid-January.
    It's not just Adobe who are affected by this - many other vendors include FF extensions with their products (as opposed to having them as standalone items on the Mozilla site) and cannot realistically bring out new versions of their software every time Firefox flips up a digit.

  • My Monster Hunting game needs to be able to reuse keystrokes(I think)

    Hello. Right I have game that I'm making called Happy Monster
    Island. So far it works great a title screen comes up with a
    flashing press start message you hit space then a menu appears with
    options you hit A and the game starts then you start hitting X and
    you can skip through all these bubbles.
    Everything works the way its supposed to(there's even a cool
    FF7 noise when you skip the text bleep bleep it goes!) but I've
    come to a point where the user has to make a choice to go one way
    or the other and I can't do that. Because all the keystrokes
    actually do is advance the main timeline one frame. Theres a movie
    clip on each frame which is sometimes just a picture. Previously I
    had been trying to jump to a certain frame and play but I had
    problems so I had the temporary solution of apply code to the whole
    thing to make these keys go next frame. So here's my code anyway. I
    can't use buttons because I'm porting it onto a system without a
    cursor(hopefully)
    keyListener = new Object();
    keyListener.onKeyDown = function() {
    x=Key.getAscii();
    if(x==32){
    nextFrame();
    Key.addListener(keyListener);
    keyListener = new Object();
    keyListener.onKeyDown = function() {
    x=Key.getAscii();
    if(x==65){
    nextFrame();
    Key.addListener(keyListener);
    keyListener = new Object();
    keyListener.onKeyDown = function() {
    x=Key.getAscii();
    if(x==88){
    nextFrame();
    MyEffect_sound.start(0,0);
    Key.addListener(keyListener);
    So I don't even know what my problem is to be honest but if I
    could have extra functions for the same keys in order or have
    actionscript only affect one frame or something I could have enough
    interactivity to get by.

    To be honest with you ....
    your prob is not at all clear .... try to describe it more
    specifically.......
    Though as far as i have understood .... you can use the
    _visible property of MovieClip to determine which movie to
    display.....

  • Have 64 bit browser Youtube says I need 32 bit from Mozills to see videos. How to download?

    I think it is clear above

    Huh? So you're running Win7 64 bit, with FF7 64 bt w/ Flash 64 bit?
    I run the above but on Linux and Youtube throws no such error, the bit version of the browser shouldn't matter, only the Flash version. Update to the latest version of Adobe Flash and restart FF:

    Alternatively, have you tried the HTML5/WebM version of the site? Join the Beta here:

  • Firefox 8.0.1 frequently hangs on osx 10.7.2

    Ever since I moved to Firefox 8 (on osx Lion) I find that it hangs quite frequently. It typically happens after a having used it successfully for a while and then moving away from it. When I return to the browser after a few minutes I find that it's hung... It never used to happen with FF7 or older...

    Whenever I've had issues with FF after an update, it is normally an Add-On that is not playing nice.
    My most recent problem was Firefox not responding right at launch.
    I created a new profile and it worked right away.

  • Firefox 8 changed how "open all in tabs" works for bookmarks. How do I get it back to the way it worked in FF7?

    In fFF7, right clicking a bookmarks folder displayed a menu with "Open all in tabs" as the first item. Selecting this option closed all other tabs, then opened the group in new tabs. This changed in FF8--now the group is opened in tabs adjacent to the already opened tabs. How do I get it to act like it did in FF7 (and before) where the open tabs where closed before opening the new folder?
    Thanks

    So your advice for a feature that worked fine, was intuitive, and we want, but was removed from Firefox, is to add an extension? That's not helpful.

  • Firefox 7 is forcing me to fill out a form field that isn't required. I've used FF on this site for years but when I upgraded to FF7 it no longer works. IE it works fine.

    Firefox 7 is forcing me to fill out a form field that isn't required. I've used FF on this site for years but when I upgraded to FF7 it no longer works. IE it works fine.

    It's our internal applicant tracking systems (resume database). It works fine in IE and all previous verisons of FF but in FF 7 a bubble icon pops up stating that "Please fill out this field".
    The field is not required but states "Require all of these words" if you to run a search based on those parameters.

  • Firefox had saved my login name and password for a site, when I changed the password, FF won't ask to save/update it so I have to enter it manually now. How do I get it to prompt me in FF7.01?

    Using FF7.01 on a HP Pavilion dv6775us laptop running Vista Home (updated continuously)
    The site owner changed the rules in order to improve password security so I was required to create a new password. When I did so I was not prompted by FF7.01 to save the new password.
    When I next logged into the site, FF remembered the user name but presented the old (invalid) password. I was forced to manually enter the new password, but again was not prompted to save it to FF.
    I then went into FF Security, viewed the saved passwords and deleted the entry for the site in question. I expected that when I logged into that site the next time I would be asked if I wanted to save the username and password. I wasn't.
    I then exited from FF and relaunched it and again logged into the site in question. I was not prompted to save the username or password.
    How do I force FF to ask for and then save the username and password?

    Thank you for your reply.
    My problem isn't removing my log-in name and password for a site.
    The problem is I already had the log-in name and password saved by FF, but I was required by the site to change the password. FF did not recognize that it had changed and refuses to prompt me to save the new password.
    After several attempts to force the prompt, I deleted the site from the Saved Password list, hoping that the next time I entered my log-in name and password on that site FF would ask if I wanted to save both. That did not happen even after exiting FF and relaunching it.
    So, right now FF will not save my log-in name and password for a site that it used track for me. Given the complexity of the new password, I really do not want to manually enter it every time I use the site.
    Regards.

    *Tap the Alt key or press F10 to show the Menu bar.
    In current Firefox releases (29 and later) the orange Firefox menu button has been replaced by the three-bar Firefox Menu button at the far right end of the Navigation Toolbar and this button is always visible, whether you have the menu bar visible or hidden<br>A consequence of this location is that you no longer can hide the Navigation Toolbar
    *There is a star like button next to the search bar on the Navigation Toolbar to bookmark the current web page and a "Show your bookmarks" button next to it to open the Bookmarks in a drop down menu.<br>You can find "Show All Bookmarks" to open the Bookmarks Manager (Library) at the bottom of this drop-down list
    *If you bookmark a page then "Bookmark This Page" in the Bookmarks menu changes to "Edit This Bookmark"
    *You can make the title bar visible via the "Title Bar" button at the bottom left in the Customize palette window
    It is still possible to have the menu bar visible via the right-click context menu of a toolbar to have menus like the File menu with Print (Ctrl+P) and Print Preview and the Bookmarks menu available.

  • I tried to upgrade from FF7 beta to FF7 and now I have no Firefox at all

    I was using the FF7 beta. When I saw that FF7 had been released, I downloaded and tried to install it, without uninstalling the beta first. That may have been a mistake. It got partway through the install process and then asked me to reboot the computer. After the reboot, my FF shortcut no longer worked ("Searching for firefox.exe"). I used another browser to download the installer again and ran it, only to be told that I needed to reboot my computer in order for a previous install to complete. I rebooted; no change. Attempting to remove the existing installation in Add/Remove Programs has not helped, though Mozilla Firefox is no longer listed there.
    I'm using Windows XP and my standard user account doesn't have admin privileges. This hasn't been a problem for Firefox until, perhaps, now. I've tried running the installer from an admin account as well, with the same result.
    Is there anything I can remove manually to fix this?

    OK... I found a Mozilla Support article - https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/The%20program%20must%20close%20to%20allow%20a%20previous%20installation%20attempt%20to%20complete - which says deleting xpicleanup.dat will solve the problem; but I guess that's out of date (or the presence of that file isn't the only cause of the bug), because there's no xpicleanup.* on my machine. However, elsewhere in this forum - https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/786890 - I found a suggestion to install the new version somewhere other than the default folder. I did that, and it worked; and it even preserved my bookmarks, add-ons and previously-opened tabs. (If anyone finds this while trying to solve their own upgrade/install failure: choose Custom rather than Standard install, and just change the suggested folder name.)
    The only remaining sign of the problem is the icon in my Quick Launch area: if I try to use it to launch Firefox, I still get the error "Windows cannot open this file: firefox.exe.moz.delete". Having recorded that here for posterity, I'll be replacing the icon.

  • External link issues with FF7+

    Hello, after updating to FF7 (and now 7.01) most external links (widgets, etc.) are not displaying. Such as the twitter and facebook widgets. They won't display. Also on twitter, the right column thumbnails of photos (twitpic, etc.) are not displaying. Is there a setting I need to activate or change? Or is this a bug in this version, as FF6 did not have this issue. Same widgets, too. Thanks!

    If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains.
    *Check the permissions for the domain in the current tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
    *Check that images are enabled: Tools > Options > Content: [X] Load images automatically
    *Check the exceptions in "Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions"
    *Check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images with the cursor Down key).
    If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.
    Make sure that you do not block third-party images permissions.default.images
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Images_or_animations_do_not_load
    There are also extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and security software (firewall, anti-virus) that can block images.

    The original problem I have concerns ReminderFox in FF7.0.1, Windows 7

    I have a project required for work that is incompatible with FF7. My computer is upgraded to FF7. The program is compatible with FF3. Is there some way to have access to FF3 while keeping my FF7 for regular use?

    "SheepShaver is an Open Source PowerPC MacOS run-time environment. That is, it enables you to run PowerPC Classic MacOS software on your computer, even if you are using a different operating system. Installing Mac OS Classic on SheepShaver is a struggle. There is some instability once you have completed the installation.
