FFD -  Yes or No usage in Elements 11

1st time user - What is FFD and what level should I use this item  ??  On installation the question came up and by the time I thought it over it disappeared.  What should I do ???? Can I rectify to use this item correctly  ?? Many thanks

Hello Neale
Thank you for your quick response
Firstly I installed it on Windows 7 version – It’s a full retail purchase of Elements 11 -  On installation last message before completion it was a choice question:  I don’t remember the exact wording but it was  something like how often would I like to use the FFD eg:  once – always – never  /  I’m thinking of uninstalling and them re-installing the software but I need to understand what FFD does and do I need it and will it constitute any difficulty with the programme  eg hanging – freezing  etc.
I have never used this software and I don’t know anyone who has so I’m really on my own in trying to navigate and fully understand Elements 11 -  Oh buy the way I’m not computer savvy either !!
Many thanks for answering my call out for help
Cheers

  • Creation of Cost Element in trading Company

    Hi,
    Ours is Trading company. We do not manufacture any products and hence we don't have production or process orders.
    Should we create price difference (due to difference in goods receipt and invoice receipt) and Cost of goods sold G/Ls as cost elements?
    Please reply.
    Regards,
    Bijay

    Hi,
    If you are using controlling, you can create those accounts as cost elements. It is all depends upon the requirement. Is this price difference account effect your cost reports?  i mean if you use this account for management accounting reports you can create this account as a cost element.  In the same cost of goods sold acocunt also.
    The rule for creating an account as cost element is .. is that account effect your controlling/management accounting or not. If yes, create as a cost element otherwise no need.

  • Usage tracking problem : not started due to non-existent Usage Tracking tab

    Hello,
    I need some help after following the necessary steps to setup 'Usage Tracking'.
    My table S_NQ_ACCT stays empty.
    The structure in the rpd files looks like
    * OBI Usage Tracking
    Connection Pool
    Usage Tracking Writer Connection Pool
    Catalog
    dbo
    S_NQ_ACCT
    My nqsconfig has the following entries related to usage tracking
    # Usage Tracking Section
    # Collect usage statistics on each logical query submitted to the
    # server.
    [ USAGE_TRACKING ]
    ENABLE = YES;
    DIRECT_INSERT = YES;
    PHYSICAL_TABLE_NAME = "OBI Usage Tracking"."Catalog"."dbo"."S_NQ_ACCT";
    CONNECTION_POOL = "OBI Usage Tracking"."Usage Tracking Writer Connection Pool" ;
    BUFFER_SIZE = 10 MB ;
    BUFFER_TIME_LIMIT_SECONDS = 5 ;
    NUM_INSERT_THREADS = 5 ;
    MAX_INSERTS_PER_TRANSACTION = 1 ;
    When making queries on the Usage Tracking SA, I still receive the following error in the NQServer.log File
    +[59049] Usage Tracking not started due to non-existent Usage Tracking table "<Database>"."<Catalog>"."<Schema>"."<Table>".+
    What am I doing wrong??
    Txs for your quick help on this!
    Kr,
    A.

    Can you post your entire NQSConfig.INI file?
    According to the message guide (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12103_01/books/AnyMsg/AnyMsg_Messages.html#wp1007961) the error you're getting specifies the table that OBIEE is trying to use, so the fact that yours reports literally "<Database>"."<Catalog>"."<Schema>"."<Table>" makes me think maybe the wrong config is being picked up. Also your comment that using a file instead of DB doesn't work either.

  • Trouble shoot Usage Tracking

    I configured Usage tracking but for some reason S_NQ_Acct table is not populating rows. I checked the error log and I see there has been some problem with the usage tracking. I used the 10.1.3.4 usage tracking rpd and did update the connection pools to point to the right database.
    The rpd metadata columns and the tables created under the schema are consistent. I do not see any errors under Usage tracking canned reports or the columns. All i see is No results because S_NQ_ACCT table is always empty, even though I ran some reports.
    Here is my usage tracking settings under nqsconfig.ini file
    ENABLE = YES;
    DIRECT_INSERT = YES;
    PHYSICAL_TABLE_NAME = "OBI Usage Tracking"."Catalog"."dbo"."S_NQ_ACCT" ;
    CONNECTION_POOL = "OBI Usage Tracking"."Usage Tracking Writer Connection Pool" ;
    BUFFER_SIZE = 10 MB ;
    BUFFER_TIME_LIMIT_SECONDS = 5 ;
    NUM_INSERT_THREADS = 5 ;
    MAX_INSERTS_PER_TRANSACTION = 1 ;
    My NqServer log details:
    2010-07-08 14:53:14
    [59055] Usage Tracking started.
    2010-07-08 14:53:16

    Data Source Name: Dev
    Client Driver Version 10.02.0001
    2010-07-08 14:53:16
    [59048] Usage Tracking encountered an insert statement execution error. This error has occurred 1 times and resulted in the loss of 1 insert statements since this message was last logged.
    [nQSError: 16001] ODBC error state: S1000 code: 984 message: [Oracle][ODBC][Ora]ORA-00984: column not allowed here.
    [nQSError: 16015] SQL statement execution failed.
    I tried to debug what that error is but i was not successfull in doing so. One thing that i wanted to mention here is, when creating the NQ_LOGIN_GROUP view, I edited th default script for creating the column LOGIN to USER_NAME as LOGIN is a key word in ORACLE database. I dont think that is causing the issue here, as I renamed the rpd Physical column of the table as well. That was the only change i made and rest of them are default settings.
    Any suggestions here....
    Thanks
    Prash

    A lot of things smell fishy in your post. For a start your BI Server log says "Metadata Database Type: Oracle8.1" but then it says you are using "Client Driver Version 10.02.0001". Which database version are you running? If you are running 10g then make sure you set the correct database type in the Physical layer. If you are using Oracle then you should be using Oracle native drviers in your connection pool (OCI) however the PHYSICAL_TABLE_NAME definition has the "dbo" which seems to suggest you are using ODBC. Also the error you are gettign seems to suggest you are using ODBC. The insert the BI Server sends looks like this:
    INSERT INTO S_NQ_ACCT (USER_NAME, REPOSITORY_NAME, SUBJECT_AREA_NAME, NODE_ID, START_TS, START_DT, START_HOUR_MIN, END_TS, END_DT, END_HOUR_MIN, QUERY_TEXT, SUCCESS_FLG, ROW_COUNT, TOTAL_TIME_SEC, COMPILE_TIME_SEC, NUM_DB_QUERY, CUM_DB_TIME_SEC, CUM_NUM_DB_ROW, CACHE_IND_FLG, QUERY_SRC_CD, SAW_SRC_PATH, SAW_DASHBOARD, SAW_DASHBOARD_PG, PRESENTATION_NAME, RUNAS_USER_NAME, NUM_CACHE_INSERTED, NUM_CACHE_HITS)
    So try that manually to see if it works but it seems you need to to some RPD config changes first as it all looks too fishy to me.

  • Dom element to string

    I have a method, the argument being passed in is a dom element.
    The method will convert the element(and child node) to string. The string is then passed into a buffer writer to write to a file.
    What is the easiest/fastest way to convert the dom element to string?
    Is there a better way to write the element to a file?
    Any sample code available?

    You could try something like this:
        String elementToString(Element element)
        throws Exception
            StringWriter sw = new StringWriter();
            TransformerFactory tFactory = TransformerFactory.newInstance();
            Transformer transformer = tFactory.newTransformer();
            transformer.setOutputProperty(OutputKeys.INDENT, "yes");
            transformer.setOutputProperty(OutputKeys.METHOD, "xml");
            transformer.setOutputProperty(OutputKeys.OMIT_XML_DECLARATION, "yes");
            DOMSource source = new DOMSource(element);
            StreamResult result = new StreamResult(sw);
            transformer.transform(source, result);
            return sw.toString();
        }Regards

  • Import workflow container element to program exits

    Hi Friends
    Can you please let me know if we can import container elements from workflow to program exits in step?
    Regards
    Rajeev

    Hi Rajeev,
    Yes you can import container elements from the workitem (not the workflow) to the program exit. You need an element which references the container (if_swf_ifs_parameter_container). You probably have an attribute in you class which is a reference to IF_WAPI_WORKITEM_CONTEXT called M_CTX. This has a method called get_wi_container which will give you the workitem container. Now you not only have the option to read elements with method get in your container class, but there is also a method set which will allow you to fill or change values in the container.

  • Blue brackets in TransformXSL = optional elements?

    When I open a TransformXSL mapping windows with two strucuture (source and target)

    Yes it is for optional elements.

    Which version of ELements you are using?
    If it is ELements 12, are you logged into Revel from Elements? If yes, did you connect to Elements from a ps.com migrated account and using same upgraded catalog from previous version of Elements? Or have you used the same catalog in ELements 11 with Revel and now using with Elements 12?

  • Premiere Elements 8 Installation Optimization?

    After using Adobe Elements "3" for the past few years I have decided to upgrade to "8" and I am ready to install it now. I have read a lot of information on the forums about the various improvements and have learned a lot about the causes of my frustrations over the years.
    I am also just starting to use (learn) photoshop CS2 (yea...behind a bit). I have used other photo editing programs and recently decided to try Photoshop since I purchased sometime back.
    I am going to install this on a machine I have dedicated exclusively to media editing and production. I wanted to get the advice of the experts out there to ensure my installation is optimized before I begin. The following are the system specs for the machine I am going to be using:
    Del Precision 690 Dual Core Xeon Proc. 5150, 4GB DDR2 SDRAM 667MHz, nVidia Quadro FX 4500, 512 MB dual VGA or DVI graphics.
    Two hard drives, C: 250 GB SATA 3.0 Gb/s 7200 RPM w/8MB DataBurst Cache and D: 500 GB SATA 3.0 Gb/s 7200 RPM w/16 MB DataBurst Cache,
    C1- All SATA Hard Drives Non RAID for 1 or 2 Hard Drives. The OS is Windows XP Pro - Serv. pk 2
    Currently the C: Drive has 120 GB of used space and is home to a few programs and a large music library. D: Drive is virtually empty with only 394 MB used.
    Currently my virtual memory settings are: C: Page file size 2046-4092 D: Has nothing set? I'm not sure if should or not?
    My goal would be to use what I currently have (hardware and software wise) and optimize the settings and the installation for reliability and speed (if those two words can be used in the same sentence). Anything I can do prior to installing that might help overall I would like to do now. Here are a few of my questions:
    Should I install Premiere Elements 8 on the "C" drive or the "D" drive?
    Should I have all captures saved and rendering done on the "D" drive since it is basically empty?
    From what I read, the virtual setting for my system should be adjusted to a maximum of 9092. Based on the 2 to 2.5 times the 4GB Ram. Is this correct?
    Should I leave the "inital size setting at 2046?
    Should I only ajdust these up when I am using this program and set them back otherwise or should I adjust them initially and leave them?
    I have noticed there is an update for "8" already. Is this something I should download immediately or only if there is a problem?
    I am going to be installing Photoshop CS2 on this machine at the same time. Is there any recommendation as to which one should be installed first?
    Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. I am ready to install with both boxed programs sitting in front of me. I have removed all prior versions and cleaned everything up so it is all nice and fresh.
    Thank you
    mharris56

    Overall, you seem to be in good shape. Although you definitely want to up XP to SP3 and go to Windows Update/Custom to ensure you have even the non-critical updates. Also, ensure you have the latest version of Quicktime.
    1. Yes, you MUST install Premiere Elements on your C drive.
    2. Use your D drive to store your project files and media. In fact, I'd recommend that, for each project, you open a new folder on the D drive for your project file. This will, among other things, keep your scratch and render files in a need place so that, when it comes time to remove the project from your computer, you can erase all of the files related to the project just by deleting the folder.
    Also, ensure your D drive is formatted NTFS and not FAT32.
    As for the rest of your questions:
    I would let the system configure Virtual Memory. There's no reason to manually set it on XP.
    You should have no problems installing both Photohsop CS2 and the Elements programs on the same computer.
    Finally, check out the FAQs to the right of this forum. The first several deal with issues and updates for Premiere Elements 8.

  • Adobe Premier Elements 11

    Using Adobe Premier Elements 11 I experience "freezing" when I:
    add some info to a picture while making a DVD, save the program then access the button to continue scanning the photos for the next spot in which to add more info. Not always, but often if freezes the program. Norton tells me I'm using 4,095 MB of memory and I have 8 GB in the Dell Inspiron desktop. Sometimes the program quits when I've asked to, "Wait for program." Any help?
    I have noted that my installation shows two instances of (Adobe Premier Elements 11 and Adobe Premier Elements) as having been installed at the same time. One is 96 Kb large and the other is 1077 Kb large. Is this normal?

    Yes, Normal.
    Adobe Premiere Elements 11.exe (95.9 KB) opens first
    and
    Adobe Premiere Elements.exe (1.05 MB aka 1075 KB) opens second
    Two processes of Premiere Elements 11. They are found in Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit
    Local Disk C
    Program Files
    Adobe
    Adobe Premiere Elements 11
    and in the Premiere Elements 11 Folder are these two .exe files.
    When you install the program, the desktop icon for the program targets the Adobe Premiere Elements 11.exe to open to the Welcome Screen. You can bypass the Welcome Screen by creating a desktop icon for the Adobe Premiere Elements.exe and using the latter to open Premiere Elements each time so that you do not run into the Welcome Screen.
    Alternately, you can set the Welcome Screen "On Start Always Launch" = Video Editor.
    You wrote

    Although we are glad that you believe you have found your answer to the issue presented, I would ask
    a. What are the formats and pixel dimensions of the photos being imported in Premiere Elements project?
    b. Not sure what that " ...continue scanning the photos for the next spot to add more info" is all about. Are you going into the Elements Organizer 11 which comes with Premiere Elements 11 and using File Menu/Get Photos and Videos/From Scanner? If so, where do you scan the photos to? How are you importing them into Premiere Elements 11 Expert workspace - Add Media/Files and Folders/Project Assets and to Timeline or something else?
    Besides photo formats, pixel dimensions, and computer resources, your workflow sequence of events (maybe some multitasking) may be involved in this freezing (other than you are too fast for the program).
    Please review and consider.
    Thanks.

    Add On...From what you wrote, I am guessing that you are working on Premiere Elements 11 running on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit. If so, that would put you in a better computer resource position than otherwise. Also, watch out for antivirus interference.

  • I currently own Elements 10 for PC and want to upgrade to Elements 12 for MAC.  Is there a MAC version?

    I currently own Elements 10 for PC and want to upgrade to Elements 12 for MAC.  Is there a MAC version?

    mommag
    Yes there is a Premiere Elements 12 Mac.
    Premiere Elements versions are standalone programs. So you would be purchasing a new program with its serial number.
    Upgrade typically goes to a price break if you have a prior version of Premiere Elements and you purchase from Adobe Sales direct.
    Years ago, a user could purchase at a local retailer and get "rebate from Adobe" based on having an earlier version. I have not seen that anymore (for years).
    Remember Premiere Elements 10 Windows projects do not work in Premiere Elements Mac (any version) and the other way around also.
    Also Premiere Elements Mac does not have all the attributes that Premiere Elements Windows has. One example, if you work with green screen, know that Premiere Elements Mac does not have the Green Screen Key, Blue Screen Key, or Chroma Key Effects.
    Please let us know if we have targeted your question.
    Thank you.

  • PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS ON A NOTEBOOK?

    I AM HOPING I CAN RUN PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS 7 ON A SMALL LIGHT NOTEBOOK TO TAKE ON 'PHOTO SAFARI'... WILL THAT SOFTWARE WORK ON THE TII5D-S1120 WITH 1.6GHz/2GB/250GB?

    Satellite T115D-S1120
    The real question is whether Elements 7 will run on 64-bit Windows 7. The answer is apparently Yes.
       64 bit Photoshop Elements 7
       PSE and 64-bit Windows
    You'll be able to handle images better if you upgrade the memory to 4 GB, of course.

  • Adobe Premiere Elements Won't Start A New Project?

    When I open up Premiere Elements and try to start a new project, all it shows is a black and purple line, then it just stops. I have already tried updating QuickTime, Windows 7, Nvidia Drivers, and Uninstalling and then Reinstalling Premiere elements. I am running it on a PC that has an AMD FX(tm)-6300 Six Core Proccessor, 8 GB of RAM, a Nvidia G-Force GTX 650, and i installed the program on a secondary hard drive with 761 GB of free space.

    xXFIRE
    What is this "secondary hard drive" on which you originally installed Premiere Elements 12? Internal or external and how formatted NTSC or FAT32?
    I do not see where anyone has asked about "Scratch Disks" as they relate to your issues?
    Please refer to Edit Menu/Preferences/Scratch Disks...
    a. Where are the scratch disks directed and how much free hard drive space is at that location?
    b. Do you have all the scratch disks categories directed to the same place? If not, do so and make sure there is lots of free hard drive space where you are pointing them to.
    Please look for pile ups of preview files in the Adobe Premiere Elements Preview Files Folder and pile ups of conformed audio in the Media Cache Folder. Both these folders by default are in Documents/Adobe/Premiere Elements/12.0.
    Please go to Edit Menu/Preferences/Media and hit the Clean button in the Media Cache Database in that area.
    As for the matter of where Premiere Elements program should be installed. Interesting question and some interesting answers. Back in a 2010 thread here on this type of subject, Akshat B (Adobe Staff) wrote
    Yes you can install Premiere Elements on any other drive. For that you need to follow these steps:
    1. Uninstall current copy of Premiere Elements.
    2. Start the installer of Premiere ELements.
    3. Choose a location on d:\ drive after choosing the default TV format.
    Please keep in mind, even if you select d: drive as the install location some amount of data will get copied to C: drive.

    Is your Local Disc C, a SSD drive? Why is there so little free space on your Local Disc C?
