  • HELP ! Need to change video size in project sequence...

When creating a project last month I accidently created it as 1280x960 in the sequence settings, but meant to create it as a 1920x1080 which is what all the video clips are in size. Now I have this nicely edited project but need to convert it to a 1920x1080 in the sequence settings so I can export it as that size. When I go into the sequence settings now this option is grayed out and it won't let me. I have read many forums and they say it’s as simple as creating a new sequence with the right settings and importing the old sequence but when I do this it is still as 1280x960. So my question is other than re-editing this entire project, how can I take this current project with sequence settings as 1280x960 and change the video size to 1920x1080 (Which is what the video clips are originally and when I right click on the individual videos it says 1920x1080). PLEASE help, I am using PP CS5 !!! This is so frustrating !

Create a new Sequence with the settings you prefer,
then Copy > Paste the clips into the new Sequence.
Be sure that your Sequence settings match your footage by doing this:
Or, right-click a media file and select 'New Sequence From Clip".
How do I choose the right sequence settings?
    http://www.video2brain.com/en/lessons/how-do-i-choose-the-right-sequence-settings
    note:
You may need to re-create audio effects that you applied in the Mixer
in the first Sequence, or you can use your first Sequence as a mixed,
nested audio track for the new properly configured Sequence.

  • Custom sequences or functions with default parameters

    Hello!
Using the Stimulus Profile Editor, I am finding that using a sequence within a sequence to be cumbersome.  This is because it requires you to declare in the main sequence, every parameter that the sub-sequence will use.
I would like to have a 'configure' sequence whose parameters are all default and do not need to be declared or passed through by every sequence that calls it. Right now, if I change one argument of the 'configure' sequence I have to go to every sequence that references it, and update the parameters and the sequence call.
Essentially, I would just like an independent  subfuction that has no inputs and returns a few outputs. If the profile editor is not capable of this, what would be my next best option?
    Thanks!

    Hello,
You can take advantage of the new features in NIVS 2014 to help against re-defining default values for your RT Sequences. Take a look at the documentation in 2014 which explains in more detail how you can use channel references in your sequences:
What's New in NI VeriStand 2014
    http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/372846H-01/veristand/whats_new/
Variables for Reading and Writing Channels in a Real-Time Sequence
    http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/372846H-01/veristand/spe_vars_chref_parameters/
Example 1a: Reading and Writing Channels Directly from a Real-Time Sequence
    http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/372846H-01/veristand/spe_tutorial_example1a/
By using channel references, you won't have to re-set default parameters. Let me know if you have any questions.

  • BPEL 10.1.2 Integration w/ Oracle E-Business Suite Database Sequences

    All,
I have read the previous posts on database sequences, but I am still missing something. I am attempting to insert into a database column using a database sequence. In my toplink_mappings.xml (under Integration content), I make the changes as suggested in previous posts ( I have read most all of them on this subject) to manually insert two lines under the primary key as follows:
    <sequence-number-field>AP.AP_INVOICES_INTERFACE.INVOICE_ID</sequence-number-field>
    <sequence-number-name>AP.AP_INVOICES_INTERFACE_S</sequence-number-name>
When I then attempt to re-deploy the process without going through the partner link, I get the ORA-00942: table or view does not exist. I am guessing this is related to the two lines above that were inserted manually as instructed below. However, when I attempt to go back through the partner link to validate the changes the two manual lines are wiped out and I then get ORA-01400: cannot insert NULL into "AP"."AP_INVOICES_INTERFACE"."INVOICE_ID"). Furthermore, I have gone into Applications Sources ->TopLink->TopLink Mappings Database Info Sequencing Section. I toggled between "Use Default Sequence Table"/"Use Native Sequencing". I think I need Use Native Sequencing do to my integration with Oracle Apps, but I am not sure (PreAllocation set to 1 per Apps).
Also, I have read the references from previous post to the BPEL Developers guide and reviewed the "Changes Through TopLink Mapping Workbench". However the section on No Primary Key Exception does not address my issue because it does not address automatic sequence generation for primary keys.
Any help with regard to this issue is very much appreciated. I too am trying to perform a BPEL and OEBS 10.5.9/9i database integration “proof of concept” and would be interested in discussing what I am working on with others in a similar position. Thanks.
    Don

    Hi Don,
I have seen this before internally:
"I've selected "Use Native Sequencing" in the Toplink Mappings and used the DB Adapter wizard to regenerate the toplink_mappings.xml, but the BPEL process manager still wants to access a table called SEQUENCE."
The solution is to change your oc4j-ra.xml to set useNativeSequencing="true". Otherwise the adapter will think AP.AP_INVOICES_INTERFACE_S is a database table designed to store the next primary keys rather than a sequence. That may explain the table not found exception.
For next release we will at least ship a sample on how to auto-assign primary keys on insert. We do have a feature request to incorporate this into the wizard to make it more painless.
Also to prevent your additions to toplink_mappings.xml from being overwritten, you can configure sequencing inside the TopLink Mapping Workbench Project inside Jdev.
    Go
Application Sources > TopLink > TopLink Mappings.
Then in structure pane click on the ApInvoicesInterface descriptor and check "Use Sequencing" and set the SequenceName to "AP.AP_INVOICES_INTERFACE_S".
    Thanks

  • Sequencing for relation table

    i have a many-to-many relation with a
    relation table.
the relation table has a "id" - column as primary key
    and two foreign keys columns
    REL_TABLE
    ID | TABLE_A_ID | TABLE_B_ID
where at the toplink workbench can i define
the sequencing for the "id" - column ?
    thanks

A relation table that contains any additional information, such as its own PK or qualifying fields, is not a typically mapped using a M:M. TopLink's M:M mapping assumes the relation table contains only the two FKs, which together form the PK of the table.
The simplest solution is to map another class to the relation table that has its own unique identity for each relationship and then configure sequencing on this mapped class.

  • Configuration Vs Customisation

    Dear friends,
Tell me the difference between configuration and customisation?
    Thanks in advance

    HI,
As per best of my understandings :
    Customization
    - Make to specifications
    - Make according to requirements
    Conflagration
    - An arrangement of parts or elements that are Any spatial attributes (especially as defined by outline)
    Now in term of SAP......
    configuration cycle
In the BPML, a logical collection of business processes that, once configured, establish an optimal configuration sequence. The configuration cycle represents a milestone and platform that is used to configure subsequent cycles. There is an overlap between the configuring of one cycle and the planning of the next cycle. ASAP provides four predefined cycles as a starting point for you to rapidly develop your configuration and test plans.
    configuration case
In ASAP, a business flow with a corresponding set of inputs, conditions and criteria. It is used to configure and refine the R/3 solution
Definition of context-dependent and context-independent existence rules between the elements of a model. Configuration intelligence is required for the consistency check of the model configuration.
    Customizing
Customizing for the Graphical Framework refers to visualization attributes of graphics such as bar color, titles, gridlines and so on. Information regarding customizing is contrasted with data such as an object ID or a value on an axis.
Customizing for the GFW is not to be confused with Customizing in the sense of IMG.

  • Oracle EPM 11.1.2 issue with system-jazn-data.xml & HIT entries

Have been working on configuring Oracle EPM 11.1.2 and have one final issue from the diagnostic utility that I cannot figure out. Configuration sequence is as follows and each step is installed in its own database:
Step 1 - Foundation/Shared Services/Calc Mgr/EPMA/Essbase to a single relational DB. I am not configuring the web server until the final step.
Step 2 - Hyperion Performance Scorecard
    Step 3 - Planning
    Step 4 - Profitability
Step 5 - RA and configure web server.
I have used both SQL Server Express 2008 and Oracle DB 11g and get the same result.
When I complete the install, restart all of the services, and run the diagnostic utility, I get a failure with foundation services indicating that the file "system-jazn-data.xml" cannot be found. No real help is provided with the error message and have found no help in the docs or on the web. I have searched the disk and the file seems to be in the proper place per the docs. I have done partial configs and do not get the error. I have then compared the system-jazn-data.xml file from the successful config to the system-jazn-data.xml file from the failed config they are identical. Both files seem to be bloated with tens of thousands of lines, most of them blank.
I had reached a point where I thought the issue was related to Performance Scorecard and removed that step. I am now getting the error again.
Anyone seeing this issue? Is it just a bogus message in the diagnostic report and can be ignored? Any other thoughts?
    Thanks
    EPMCloud

Update - After going through the install many more times, I still do not know what the issue is, but I believe I have figured out how to resolve it. It appears that if you go back (after everything is installed and configured) and reconfigure the application server for Foundation services, the issue is corrected.
I am running some final test now and if I discover something different, I will update the post.

  • Oracle 11g SOA-BPM PS3 Installation Help

I'm not a super techie, so installing the latest release from Oracle was a challenge, but I encountered a number of problems and kept notes of what I did to solve it. Many of these hints came from the Forum, but nothing had all of the relevant info under one thread. So here is what I pieced together. If this is helpful to anybody, I'd love to hear it - either on this thread or at my e-mail address of [email protected]. My thanks to Linus Chow of Oracle for some help and allowing me to think I could do this!
    Comments/Suggestions on Oracle 11g SOA-BPMN PS3 Installation_
Suggest downloading all files into a common directory. I stuck this folder at the root (C:) drive. At collectively just over 5 GBs, the downloading will take several hours (for me it was a full day, as did the installation). You will need an OTN account to be able to download the software. A good overview of PS3 is at the following link: http://blogs.oracle.com/bpm/2011/01/bpm_suite_11gr1_ps3_released.html.
General comment/suggestion. Be sure to name the aforementioned folder without any spaces (big problems if this is done because of how unzipped files do/don’t work with a path name with spaces in it). As the installs get started, note that an Oracle directory (under the root) with a default name for the middleware directory, named Middleware, is created as the default.
The link with the installation is actually helpful, but it is incomplete (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bpm/downloads/index.html). Some of the detail needed is in the quick installation guide (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/install.1111/e14318/toc.htm, and I suggest downloading the PDF version), but the order conflicts with the previous information. I resolved this by using the latter for detail, but the former for the sequence. I also had to turn to several blogs/forums (the main one being: http://blogs.oracle.com/SOA/2009/08/installing_oracle_soa_suite_11.html) to get help on troubleshooting problems with the installation (see below for others).
I have a Windows 7 Professional 64-bit version, but I ended up following the path for the 32-bit install path (see the main link cited above), mostly because it was unclear to me what the 64-bit path would be. I also already had the 32-bit version of the JRE installed. The following links cover identifying the differences and what you may have installed as well as alternative versions to download: http://www.java.com/en/download/faq/index_general.xml?user_os=Windows%207; http://www.java.com/en/download/faq/java_win64bit.xml; and http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp.
Another general comment/suggestion. I found it useful to reboot after each step. It shut down services that I would otherwise have to search for and shut down manually. Some of the installations require services activated by previous steps to be turned off, so you’re better off doing something like this rather than encountering such an error in a subsequent step.
Step 1: Installing the XE database. The file is an .exe file, and will execute upon a double click. However, the instruction regarding RCU is best saved until the 3rd step, doing it just before you install the RCU. More importantly, there are some things to keep in mind about the database install. First, after installation, you should sign on to the DB, using the Go To DB Home Page option under the Express Edition (XE) folder or set of menu options (created as part of the installation), under the SYSTEM user account. During installation, you’ll have to have given a password for this account, so make sure it is one you can remember. After signing on as SYSTEM, give the SYS user account another (or same) password that you can remember. You will use the SYS account in subsequent steps. Second, there is a parameter for the database that must be changed from the default. This is covered in the links below: http://blogs.oracle.com/tridib_samanta/2010/03/rcu-6107db_init_param_prerequisite_failure_for_processes.html and http://cn.forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=1004605. To solve this, select SQL button on the DB home page, then SQL Commands button on the next page, paste/enter into the pane at the top the following command, “ALTER SYSTEM SET processes=300 SCOPE=SPFILE;” (but without the quotes), and then click on the Run button. (The parameter must be greater than or equal to 200, but I found references to setting in equal to 300 or 500.) Then you can log out and close the web page.
At times, the DB might not be started when you are expecting it to be running (e.g., after a reboot), which is covered in this link: Oracle 10g database homepage not working? (You’ll know that it is isn’t running if you try to open the Go To DB Home Page option and it won’t open, displaying an error page instead.) I found that the simplest way to fix this was to go to the Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services, and then look to see if the OracleServiceXE service is started. If not, then restart by right-clicking on that service listing and choosing the appropriate option to execute.
Step 2: Installing WebLogic Server. Either before or during this process, you will need to set up an Oracle Support Account. However, you need a customer ID to be able to create a profile. I was thus not able to complete a profile, so the WLS installation defaulted to the Anonymous registration option. This still needed an e-mail address though, the same one with which you would create the Oracle Support profile, so you should have one at the ready. (It would not accept the e-mail address for my OTN account.) As far as I can tell, the consequence of this path is that I cannot automatically get patches and such. I figure this is a problem to be solved another day. The Oracle Support links are: https://support.oracle.com/CSP/ui/faq_en.html#SignIn and https://support.oracle.com/CSP/ui/flash.html.
If you go with the default, the middleware directory is just Middleware under the Oracle directory. If you select a different name or location, you will need to remember where it is and what the name is. You should also note the folder name for where the JDK was stuck, which for me was JDK160_21 under the Middleware directory.
Step 3:  Installing RCU. The trickiest of the steps. Unlike with the previous two steps, this installation first happens after the downloaded file is unzipped. You MUST unzip into a directory for which the full path name (and not just the one you create upon extraction) is without any spaces. (You can use the underscore symbol instead of a space to indicate separation.) Unzip the folder/files, and then open the Command Prompt window. Using the cd command, work your way to the full path name to where you just unzipped these files. Next, continue to work your way down to subfolders created during the extraction process. You want to end up at the rcuHome\BIN\ subfolder. THEN do the RCU-related command cited in Step 1. Type in at the prompt the following command and hit enter: set RCU_JDBC_TRIM_BLOCKS = TRUE. Then, type in rcu.bat at the prompt and hit enter, which will run the installation and configuration sequence. This is realized through a series of windows that open for you to input information and make selections. Use the document at the following link of specific guidance as to what the configuration screens should have entered on them: http://blogs.oracle.com/SOA/2009/08/installing_oracle_soa_suite_11.html. This includes things like the service name (XE) and the host name (localhost) to enter, assuming you are installing this on a laptop or PC for local use only. Some other helpful links for troubleshooting the RCU installation are located at: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/doc.1111/e14259/rcu.htm#CIHGHDBG; http://oraclebi.blogspot.com/2010/08/rcu-and-what-it-means-for-you.html ; Re: RCU 11.1.1.4 install fails on Oracle XE and http://cn.forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=2162409&tstart=0&messageID=9336791.
The RCU sets up DB schemas and the like for the BPMN and SOA stuff. The screenshots in the previously mentioned document should be followed exactly. You can also refer to pp. 5-6 of the Quick Installation Guide. You should use the SYS user account (the default, I think), so have the password handy.
I also found it more comforting to shutdown the RCU installation/configuration via the cancel option than to keep going back a screen to fix something. This may not have been necessary, but it made me feel better. Be prepared for interim screens that pop up to show that the installation/configuration is happening, which will also tell you there are errors. One such screen says that XE isn’t supported for RCU, but you can ignore that (as the supporting guidelines indicate).
Step 4:  Installing JDev. This is an executable, and you just install with all of the defaults. This process will start the WLS as part of the installation, so you must turn it off before going to the next step. Again, I just rebooted to do this.
Step 5:  Installing SOA Extensions for JDev. Instructions on the page at the main link are clear and correct. The 2 screen shots must be reviewed and adhered to completely in checking off options. The first selection defines the areas where updates are to be sought out, while the second selection is from the available option(s) from those areas. In this case, you are only installing the SOA Composite Editor, though there are several other updates/extensions from which to select (but don’t, at least for now).
Step 6: Installing BPM Extensions for JDev. Same comment as for Step 5, except that the option you want to select is not as what is indicate (the BPM Composite Editor) but the BPM Process Studio! I would advise against doing these as part of the same update sequence. In fact, I closed out JDev completely (though I did not reboot) between Step 5 and Step 6.
Step 7 and 8:  Installing SOA Suite. I suggest unzipping both of the downloaded zip files. Again, it is critical that the full path name into which files are extracted contains no spaces. Once unzipped, you should navigate to the Disk1 folder under the directory into which the first zip file was extracted, but you should do this with the Command Prompt window and the cd command. From this prompt, you should type in “setup.exe -jreLoc {location of JDK}” (without the quotes) and hit enter. The {location of JDK} is where the JDK was installed as part of the WLS installation. For me this was in folder JDK160_21 under the Middleware folder in the Oracle directory. Refer to pp. 12-15 of the Quick Installation Guide. This took me a couple of tries before I actually got the installation screen to show up correctly. Some of what this looks like is also in the following link: http://blogs.oracle.com/SOA/2009/08/installing_oracle_soa_suite_11.html.
What you may eventually figure out is that 5 installation disks are stretched across two zip files. Once the installation of disks 1 and 2 are done, a popup window will ask you to browse to the folder where each of the next 3 disks are, which is in the folder created by the extraction of files/folders from the second zip file for the SOA Suite. As with previous steps, I rebooted after all of this was done.
Step 9:  Installing the Business Process Converter. Unzip the downloaded file, and open the Installation Instructions Word file. It will instruct you to point JDev’s update sequence to another zip file extracted during the unzipping of the downloaded zip file for the converter. JDev will install this without much fuss or muss, but this installation is to the Studio and not to BPA. (For installation to BPA, you need to have installed BPA, and followed the other guidance in the instructions.) To get to JDev’s update sequence, follow the same first step as in Step 5, but check the option to browse for and upload from a local file. This local file will be the previously mentioned other zip file.

  • Workaround for HFM Drill-Through when using custom dimensions ( 4) in FDM

    Hi all,
    we have the following scenario:
    - Target Custom 3 is defined as a combination of Target Product and Target Cost Center
    - Target Product needs to be obtained by mapping field "PRODUCT" in the source file
    - Target Cost Center needs to be obtained by mapping field "CC" in the source file
    So,
One approach would be to enable Custom5 and Custom 6 dimensions in FDM, and configure sequence so these two dims are mapped before custom 3 which has a conditional map to get
values from target c4 and c5 (using varvalues...)
The issue here is that drill-through does not work as the sql query for the intersection is looking for UD5x and UD6X as NULL, N, or [NONE], and these two columns have a value as they were mapped.
Trying to solve this issue, we configured C5 and C6 as lookup dimensions so we could create the mapping tables for them although in order to import data from source file fields we used attr2 and attr3. Besides UD5 and UD6, as expected, were not displayed in the Import and Validate/Export grids
Then the idea was to update the work table with attr2->ud5 and attr3->ud6 in a event script (importaction or befprocmap..) so ud5 and ud6 are mapped.
The problem is that we noticed that ud5 and ud6 are not updated from attributes. It seems that as they are configured as lookup dims, values may be mapped but not copied from work table to tdataseg.
If this would work, then after custom3 is mapped we could set ud5x and ud6x to [none] in order the drill-through query to work.
Having all in custom 3 dim and use mappings on combinations is not desired by the customer as they want to keep product and cc mappings separately.
I was thinking to use a dummy location for product and cost center mappings and then emulate mappings using SQL but would like to avoid this.
    Any other suggestion?
    Thanks!

The criteria for mapping C3 is:
    - If Plan = 6 Then Target C3 = SUBACCOUNT
    - If Plan <> 6 AND Account IN range [70000,70999] Then Target C3 = Target CC
    - If Plan <> 6 AND Account NOT IN range [70000,70999] Then Target C3 = Target CC_Target Product
    Fields in the file
    - PLAN
    - ACCOUNT
    - SUBACCOUNT
    - Source CC
    - Source Product
So current solution actually is to put that logic in the import format so:
    - If Plan = 6 Then Source C3 = SUBACCOUNT
    - If Plan <> 6 AND Account IN range [70000,70999] Then Source C3 = "RULE2"
    - If Plan <> 6 AND Account NOT IN range [70000,70999] Then Source C3 = "RULE3"
In the mapping of C3, we managed a simple script mapping checking the source C3
    If source c3 = RULE 2 -> Target C3 = Target CC
    If source C3 = RULE 3 -> Target C3 = Target CC_Target Product
Else Target C3 = source C3 (which is SUBACCOUNT)
C5 (Cost Center) and C6 (Product) are mapped before C3.
In order to make Drill-Through working, we save UD5X and UD6X in ATTR2, ATTR3 so the user can see it, and we set then UD5X and UD6X to [None] so the Drill_Through SQL Query returns the values from FDM. If after loading the user goes to validate step, he will see [None] in C5 and C6 but actually this does not really matter as C3 has already been mapped and is the value to be loaded. If the want to review target product or target cc then they drill down to attribute information.

  • Movie proportions in Premier Pro CS 5.5

I have been given video footage and while it is .mov format, I don't know it's native proportions or any information about it and I don't know how to find out so that I can import it properly into Premier Pro and have it scale properly.
I have tried importing it into differently configured sequences and each time, the people look tall and skinny (more so than usual).  Sometimes there's a black border on either side, sometimes they fit the frame and are disproportinately tall and skinny.  Clearly my ratio or something is off kilter but I can't seem to figure out which is the right size.
How do I find that out?
    Update:
ok, I had been told it was not shot in high def...but on a hunch, I tried HDV 720p and it imported proportionally.   So my question still stands...how the heck can I tell before I use the file, what it was shot in so I can match my sequence appropriately?

  • Change Pixel Aspect Ratio Once Already Started?

I've been having trouble with my video looking extremely blurry -- I thought it had to do with rendering but it looks the same rendered as it did before rendering. I think I figured out that it has to do with the pixel aspect ratio being too small (or is it frame size, or are those the same thing? It's all very confusing for me!). The final output for this video is YouTube, but it also looks blurry within Premiere (mainly when stretching the Program Monitor so I can see it larger).
I helped on a video a few months ago that looked perfect, everything was really crisp in Premiere (after rendering, that is) and when exported to YT. The pixel aspect ratio was 1920x1080 for this video, and the one I'm working on now is 720x480.
So, can I enhance the pixel aspect ratio of the video I'm working on now? If I'm not able to change the pixel aspect ratio once I've started the project, what would be your advice going forward?
Thanks, and please let me know if you need any more information!

You need to be sure your sequence setting matches
the frame size and aspect ratio of your source media.
To create a sequence that matches your footage, try this:
Once you have created a properly configured sequence,
you can copy (Ctrl+C) then paste (Ctrl+V) your already edited
clips into the newly created sequence.

  • JMS sender channel binary format possible?

    Hi,
We're still having codepage problems from MQ to SAP via JMS.
We send text messages, the QM format name is MQSTR and the message type is datagram.
At the moment SAP development is saying:
If the XML is encoded in anything other than UTF-8, then the
javax.jms.Message object must be be a BinaryMessage and not a
TextMessage. All TextMessages are interpreted to be UTF-8
    My remarks on this:
-If we send UTF-8 the data is still corrupted in the end sap system so still the adapter seems to working incorrectly
-I have the feeling that in the JMS sender channel the CCSID parameter has no influence whatsoever on the application data translation
But I want to try anything, so how would I configure a JMS (MQ) sender channel for binarymessage. It seems that the JMSMessageType parameter is only valid for receiver channels. Ok, I can image that the sending side (MQ) should set the message type but then still I think the module configuration/sequence should be different than the standard one.
Anyone a clue what this should be?
    thanks
    Tom

    Problem solved...
We finally managed to send a binary file to XI.
We had to do two changes to accomplish this, first make sure when we read the file from its source directory that no automatic translation is done (remove O_TEXTDATA switch from C api on iseries).
Secondly in MQ change the message format from MQSTR meaning text message to Blanks.
The messages in MQ are not human readable anymore, but when looking at the hex codes it is proper utf-8.
Now the special characters are correct in the XI monitors and also in the receiving SAP systems.
I suspect the cause of the problem to be in the iseries only partial support for the utf-8 encoding.
a nice way to end the week..

  • Up gradation Issues from 11.1.2.1 to 11.1.2.2 especially for SSL envrionmen

    Hi All,
We are going for an up gradation from Hyperion 11.1.2.1 to Hyperion 11.1.2.2. All the products configured with SSL. I would like to know whether is there an impact in SSL configuration or not.

If you are configuring EPM System products for SSL, the configuration sequence and selections that you make during configuration depend on the type of SSL implementation you choose.

  • TESTSTAND 4.1 VERY UNSTABLE COMPARED TO TS4.0

    HELLO ALL,
SORRY FOR THIS .BUT ITS VERY TRUE THAT TS4.1 CRASHES ERYFREQUENTLY COMPARED TO 4.0
AND U DONT HAVE THE SAME FEEL THAT WAS THEIR ON TS 4.0
IT HAS SOME GUI RELATED ISSUES ALSO.ETC ETC WHICH WAS VERY FINE ON TS 4.0
PLEASE IMPROVE FAST OR SEND SOME HOT FIXES

    Kulwant,
When you complain of 'seriously degraded' performance, what aspect of performance are you talking about?  Is it how long it takes for your application to launch?  How long it takes to execute a sequence?  How long it takes to display a dialog box?
Is the performance degredation confined to a specific sub-set of functionality?  By that I mean, do only .NET steps slow down?  Are other steps affected?  Does the problem occur only in the Sequence Editor, or in every UI?  The more detail you can give us, the better the chance of us being able to fix the problem.
When you complain of the 'GUI behaving unexpectedly' what behavior happens?  Is it a hang or a crash?  Do windows move unexpectedly?  What is the problem you are having?
As far as the TestStand Sequence Editor behaving differently in 4.0 versus 4.1, I was not able to reproduce the behavior that you are describing.  I tried creating many blank sequence files in both 4.0 and 4.1, and I got the same behavior in both.  Do you have screenshots of the problem?
Also, in case you are not aware, the Sequence Editor display can be customized.  You can choose to Tile or Cascade windows in the Window menu, and in Configure»Sequence Editor Options... there are many settings that you can use to change how information is displayed.

  • Import/Export properties

I have a sequence of 300+ steps.  I've made it so that I can reuse the same function for each step so I have copied and pasted the same step 300 times.  Now I need to simply give each step a unique name so I can import and export the properties that I need.  Is there any way to give each step a unique name without clicking on each one to change it??  It seems you can't import the step name, what a pain.

    rreis,
If you want your step names to be unique you can do the following:
    1. Go to Configure->Sequence Editor Options->General
    2. Verify that the 'Make Step Names Unique when Inserting Steps' box is checked.
    3. Now every time you copy and paste a step it will be assigned a unique name.
If you already have a sequence with duplicate step names you could write a sequence that programmatically changes the step names so they are unique.
    Hope it helps
