FI docs Archiving

Hi
We are planning to archive FI documents - GL, AR and AP and even sales orders. does anyone using FI archiving? what checks system does before archiving the docs? can we archive AR, AP and GL line items? what is the impact on standard SAP reports. If i want to view archived data later, how I can view them.
thanks
kum

Does anyone using FI archiving?
Yes, You need to archive the document in the archive object FI_DOCUMNT.
what checks system does before archiving the docs?
You need to determine the data which is no longer useful and only required for the audit purpose.
can we archive AR, AP and GL line items?
yes, You need to maintain the data in archive object FI_DOCUMENT, you can check the required table via tcode DB15 present in archiving object FI_DOCUMENT.
what is the impact on standard SAP reports.
Many FI transactions provide the functionallity to fetch the data from Archiving object and Database both.. But there are few transaction which won't provide the functionallity to get data from Archive objects.
You need to create a Z program for those and make them archive enabled if requierd.
If i want to view archived data later, how I can view them.
You can view them via Zreport, there are many FM to view the data. also you can use TCODE SARA, SARI.
You can get more info on internet on archiving... Just google and search for Archive FI data + sap..

    Hi

How to find what are all the documents and how to correct the same ?
    Thanks

    Dear,
    Please go through the below:
    Archiving (transaction SARA)
Data archiving removes bulk data which is no longer required in the System, but which must be retained accessibly, from the database. Data in the R/3 database can only be archived via archiving objects, which describe the data structure. Financial accounting documents, for example are archived via the archiving object FI_DOCUMNT, which comprises the document header, company-code-dependent postings, change documents, SAPscript texts and other elements. The application archiving objects are pre-defined in the system. The archiving programs are scheduled as background jobs, but can run during on-line processing. The system need not be shutdown.
The archiving procedure comprises two main steps:
Create archive files: the data to be archived are first written sequentially into a newly created file. The data then exist twice in the database. These archive files can, e.g. be passed to an archive system, via ArchiveLink.
Execute delete program: the data in the archive files are removed from the database by the delete program.
You can check how the archive filenames and archive destination are setup in transaction FILE
Always remembers to check the setting before any archiving.  The settings will determine things like whether the delete programs will start automatically.  (it is not advisable to start your delete programs automatically).
You can configure all the customizing settings with transaction AOBJ - Archive Objects.
    MM_MATBEL - Archive material document
OMB9 - Archiving - Material document retention period.
The default documents life is 200 days.  You need to maintain the documents life for each Plant in your company before you can start archiving.  If you did not maintain, you will get a list with 'Valid.period not maintained for tr./ev. type of doc.'.
MM_ACCTIT - Archive accounting interface tables
The documents store in the table are for applications which are to be supplied with the posting data at a later date of MM Inventory Management and MM Invoice Verification.
If you are using 3.x, this archiving object might not be found. You need to import it from sapservX. Read note 89324, 99388, 83076.
Take a look at OSS note 48009 for the detail explanation of which data is updated in the ACCT* tables.
    PP_ORDER - Archive production order
OPJH - Production Order retention period. Maintain Retention 1 and 2.
If your set your retention 1 and 2 as 10, that means that after 10 days of setting the delete flag then you can set the deletion indicator.  After 10 days of setting the deletion indicator then you can start archiving.  Therefore, to archive immediately, you can leave retention 1 and 2 as space.  Please take note that retention 1 and 2 act as a safety net if you happened to archive the wrong record.  You will have to decide whether to have the retention time gap or not.
FI_DOCUMNT - Archive Financial Accounting Documents
Maintain the account life      - transaction OBR7
Maintain the documents life - transaction OBR8
    SD_VBRK - Archive Billing Documents
There are no posting date or fiscal year/period selection.  You can only specify the billing documents date.  In order that you do not archive the wrong record, you have to write a ABAP query or report to print out the various billing documents number ranges you want to archive.  You can extract the data from table
    VBRK - Billing: Header Data.
VN01 - Check all the number ranges for Billing Documents.
Click Overview buttom or Hold the Shift key and press F7.
    RV_LIKP - Archiving Deliveries
VORL - Maintain the retention period. Number of days which must have elapsed since the delivery was created, before the delivery can be archived.
    VLAL - Archive deliveries

    Syed Hussain.

  • Sales doc archiving

    Hi
I am trying to archive SD and MM docs for previous years using SARA. However, when I run the pre-processor job for sales docs, the spool shows me some docs can not be archived because they have in-progress status or subsequent docs are not complete. if I carry on with the subsequent archiving steps would the Users face any issues later. Any other suggestions are welcome.
    Thanks

The subsequent steps will not archive those documents that came up as errors in pre-processor job .
They will never be archived until you complete the business process..

  • How to delete the archived messages?

Archiving is setup and running in our PI systems.  ( I used the SDN doc, "Archive and Delete Messages in SAP. XI: A Step-by-Step Guide")
I'm now looking to automate the deletion of the archived messages (NOT the deletion of the original message in the DB, but the data that has been written out to the O/S -- the actual archived data file.
Any pointers on how to accomplish this?
    Thanks in advance.
    -Joe Rufo

The archive job creates the files in the files system you configured. These files contain the archived messages..
What you can do is run periodic jobs to deletes files which are older than a certain date...
If there are certain types of messages you want to hold on for a longer period...then archive them seperately... and run a different batch job to clear the files...

In line with the FAQ and forum sticky threads, you should always provide as much relevant information as possible when asking questions on the forum, as effective answers may depend on APEX version, database version/edition, and architecture. In this case knowing the APEX version in question would enable a link to the documentation for the correct version to be provided.
The built-in substitution strings for APEX 4.0 are listed here.
All of the APEX 4.0 documentation and a link to doc archives for previous versions is here.

  • Importing Windows Outlook Express address book

    Hello
I have been trying to import an Outlook Express address book (which is stored on a DVD) to MS Entourage with not much luck
I can't seem to find an 'option' to import an external address book.
The only options available seem to be to import Entourage docs/archives etc.
    Can anyone help?

I've been looking into this myself and there are a number of possibilities. You can't just import an address book but importing all your contacts can be done. Search discussions here for the topic (the Mail and Address Book forum has stuff on getting contacts out of Outlook) and also Google the web, there are several threads elsewhere. There are even shareware utilities to help.
Also look under Mac 101: Shifting From PC in the Support section here. Apple has a little bit to say on it, although not terribly helpful to me.

  • Regarding LO_OBJID field of table DMS_DOC2LOIO...

    Gurus,
I am new to DMS and spposed to achieve a given scenario. I have system connection established succesfuly as follows.
Filenet -> ACSAP -> SAP DMS.
So whenever I create original document while creating a   DIR in CV01N, I choose it from the desktop. Then when I click on checkin, it asks me for storage category and then I it gets saved in content server (here filenet).
I assume that only when I am checking in the document, the doc archive ID will be created. So the LO_OBJID field in table DMS_DOC2LOIO will get populated with archive doc ID of the content server.
But I am seeing that the field  LO_OBJID gets populated even when I just create the original document from the desktop. So how the  LO_OBJID of the DIR is linked to actual archiv doc ID in SAP.
    Please help.
    Regards,
    Rajesh.

I think i have the same issue ,  can you tell me how to solve the issue ,
                                  thank you very much

  • S-WFAR_OBJ

Hi Experts, i was wandering if someone could ease some concerns i have. I am looking at implementing an authority check in an abap programme. That does a check on a value in the Auth Obj S_WFAR_OBJ. the soloution i am trying to put in place is all based around SAP Archiving and the logical archive defined in the system. The auth check with basically look in here and if thwe users role contains a value of HR will only show docs archived from the HR logical archive.
We seem to have this auth object in a number of our roles, but with a star value proposed. Is this object used for anything other than SAP archving?? As from what i have read it is not used for anything else other than this purpose and su24 seems to tell me its not either. If i get some kind of re-assurance that it is not i can cut my testing window down by half, as for some un known reason we seem to have this object in all of our finance type roles.
    Thank you in adcance
    DC

    Hi thanks for this,
perhaps i coudl explain what i am doing a little better. We are using IXOS as our scan client and have the barcode soloution set up for HR attachemtns and Finance attachemtns.
When users enter the barcode against a record either HR or Fi. It goes into the BDS_BAR_IN table awaiting a document to be scanned with the same barcode on it.
This goes into the table bds_bar_ex viewed by the trx SBDS3. What we are finidng is people not doing this process properly and documents are left in this table are completley visable to anyone who has this trx access.
Our HR dept have kicked up a stink that a finance person can see say a formal procedure doc that has been left in the q.
I have tried to argue the case that if they checked after every scan then there would be no problem. But they are determined they want something put in place.
So i have come up with a soloution of creating. Differnt logical archives for HR,Fiance and a few other depts. Then create a z programme of SBDS3 and adding an input filed asking which dept they are. So a HR person would scan into the system using the HR Logical archive and the finance person would scan in using the FI logical archive(names are irrelavnt but just to make explanation easier)
When they come to do there checks they would enter in the input field either HR or FI, this would then do an auth check on s_wfar_obj to see what value there role has in and if they are allowed to see HR or Fi docs.
I can see no other purpose for this other than archiving docs be it HR or FI, and just needed a bit more clarification on where it is used.

  • Plugin Whitelisting

Some enterprises only want allow the use of plugins and extensions that are on an allow list. This ensures that the administrator knows what plugins are in use so that they can be patched, and allows an amount of functional testing before full deployment. They don't want to be in a state where users install useful-sounding plugins that, for example, sends sensitive data out to the cloud or to a malicious third party. Unfortunately I'm struggling to implement a configuration to deny all plugins and extensions apart from a specified list (which a user can then choose to manually disable or enable). Are the three options below viable or is there some other route:
I can prevent the installation of plugins with this configuration:
    lockPref("xpinstall.enabled", 0);
I can get plugins to default to disabled whenever the browser starts:
    lockPref("plugin.default.state", 0);
    lockPref("plugin.defaultXpi.state", 0);
I can enable and disable individual plugins:
// Enable Flash as it's in a sandbox
    lockPref("plugin.state.flash", 2);
    // Disable Java unless required
    lockPref("plugin.state.java", 0);
    lockPref("plugin.state.npdeployjava1", 0);

Archive::Tar comes with a utility called 'ptardiff' which lets you run diffs against tar archives.
However, this utility requires you to have Text::Diff installed.
To add Text::Diff as a prerequisite, please supply the '-d' option when invoking this Makefile.PL.

  • Print documents

    Hi Experts,
I have finished the archiving of Print document Line items and Header using the Object  ISU_PRDOCL and ISU_PRDOCH.
To perform archiving in both of these objects I have assigned a value '1' and '4' for the field  "ITEMS_ARCHIVED" in the table ERDK.
I have assigned it using a zprogram.
Do we have any other way without assigning manually using a program.
Is there any one Who has already done archivign using these obejcts can give some suggestions.
    Thanks,
    Shree.

    Hi Swarna,
I did not get a chance to archive FICA objects. However, I'd suggest you to Archive the Print data from DFKKCOH table.
In FICA each and every object has to be archived by a separate process.
Suggest you to look into table DFKKCOH table for Print docs archive along with ERDK <for Print Invoices>
    Hope this helps
    Rgds

  • Security Issues while calling Web Service

    Hello,
I have designed a flex client that calls .NET web service and
displays the results in the data grid. The application executed
properly when I launch it from the development (D:\FlexTest\bin),
the one that I specified while creating Flex Project (FlexTest).
However, if I copy the same files (or the whole folder) to another
location on my laptop, I receive the following error.
[RPC Fault faultString="Security error accessing url"

I incur the same problem when I place the same file on my
laptop's web-server. Can anyone tell why Flash Runtime could not
    find the wsdl file?

I believe this is a security sandbox issue. You will need a
crossdomain.xml file on the server that is serving the webService.
Check the docs, archives, and google for more detail.
