FI Extraction - 3.5 or 7 : Confusion

Hi All,
I have to do FI-AR Extraction, im using the datasource 0FI_AR_4 (BSID/BSAD) using the preffered scenario:
0FI_AR_4 -> 0FI_AR_O03 -> 0FIAR_C03
DS ODS Cube
We are implementing BI 7.0
Now what i want to know is that when we activate objects from Business content at BI End it all comes in 3.5 version and then we do migration if we have to use them in 7.
Regarding the FI-AR cube there are certain routines written in transfer rules from ODS to Cube, if i migrate that in 7 version, then what will happent to these routines ?
And not only for FI, its a very general question whenever we migrate a object from 3.5 to 7 we have to create the transformation, which we do manually. What about the routines, do we need to do that manually by luking into the transfer rules?
Im very confused regarding this.
Which way its recommended to use objects in 3.5 or in 7.
Any help will be appreciated.

Cannot extract CS5 Web Premium Installation files

I recently purchased a new laptop that does not have an optical drive. As such, I have downloaded the two files from the Adobe site (Download CS5 products) several times. For some reason, the first file set cannot be extracted. It is in 7z format and I downloaded the 7z software to extract the files, but it continues to be unable to do so. I have placed both the 7z and exe files in the same folder on my desktop so the fact that I cannot extract the installation files is confusing. What am I doing wrong? Please help!

Push method and Pull method of extraction

We used this in the Start Routine of Update Rule, The Oull Method is used if you will looked- up another value other than your source
Example, You have an ODS name ODS123 and the its Load came from ODS234 and ODS345, If the requirement states that you must select a value other than your Source (let say your ODS is Delivery) you must extract from other ODS (let say Order or Billing that will serve as a Key to your Start Routine)
The Pull Method is when you implement a routine directly from your source to do some conversion or computation
Example
Example, You have an ODS name ODS123 and the its Load came from ODS234 and ODS345, you will implement a routine to from Update Rule 8ODS234 and 8ODS345 to do some Key Figure computations

[Solved] Arch noob on Thinkpad: installing tpacpi-bat

I'm enjoying Arch on my thinkpad t420, but it's about time I properly configured my laptop's power management. I plan to run tlp through systemd, which seems to be going fine. What is not going as planned is my installation of the tpacpi-bat script which makes battery thresholds configurable. I discovered that the project is now hosted on github. So bear with me: i understand that on the AUR, you have to download the .tar.gz, extract it, run makepkg -s, which talks to the PKGBUILD, which you can then pacman -U, but, because i am a noob, i fear i've overlooked a few things. i git cloned the project, so i have it on my machine, but there's no PKGBUILD... only an install script written in perl. "okay, so no big deal..." i ran perl install.pl... and got the following output:

After extracting the .tar.gz, a folder with only a PKGBUILD was extracted. and then I got confused... what would I pass as an argument to makepkg? I saw in the comments that the project had moved to git (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/tpacpi-bat/ ) which is why I cloned the file. After a little while, I thought maybe I forgot to install a dependancy... i discovered that i acpi_call-git is a dependancy, tried to install that, and received a similar "Error 2" Here's the output for that:

i discovered this dependancy when i ran makepkg -si in the extracted tpacpi-bat contents from the .tar.gz on the AUR, but seeing that htis acpi-call file has no dependancies, i'm confused.

Recompile java 1.5 (Windows 32 bits) for 64 bits (linux)

Hello, somebody can say to me please, if it is necessary to make some step intermediate (for example recompile) when (development) from your PC to 32 bits in eclipse with java 1.5 and the application you also execute it in a machine to 64 bits with Linux - with java 1.5?
The question is because I do not know if the code of bytes generated in the PC (to 32 bits) takes advantage of kindness the machine linux to 64 bits (it assumes that yes because in both machines it is java 1,5, but it is the doubt?), or it is better recompile again to 64 bits... Thanks. Greetings.

Thanks. I do have the manual and am aware that I would require PC3200 ram. I am also aware how to do it.
However, it is the following extract from the manual that confuses me :-
"The default spec of Intel 845PE chipset is only able to support FSB 400/533 Mhz CPU........"
then
"CPU FSB 800mhz/DDR400 is not the default spec... If you decided to use Intel's FSB 800mhz CPU etc
This, maybe wrongly, suggests to me that there are 400, 533 and 800mhz CPU's. At present mine is set for 533mz but overclocked to 588mz.
Is then, my Northwood CPU capable of all of the above speeds. I just had the feeling when I bought the CPU that there was a choice of 400 or 533?

I checked the Intel website and it shows Northwood as 400/533. There is also a hyperthreaded one rated at FSB 800mz. It would seem a Prescott CPU is required for 800mhz and that mine will not run at 800.

Transparent Table
If you're wishing to create a generic DataSource based on a single Transparent Table in the source R3/ECC system, then using that table as the source for your generic DataSource would be appropriate because it will expose all of the columns in that table to your generic extraction structure. There is one exception to this and that is, if you have more than one date field (e.g. Created On and Changed On dates) that you're going to use for generic delta. Pool/Cluster tables and structures wouldn't be allowable for this type of generic DataSource setup.
View on Transparent Tables
If your requirement is to create a generic DataSource based on multiple Transparent Tables in your source R3/ECC system, then a view would be appropriate. You can either use SAP delivered views in the source R3/ECC environment or create a custom view. The same exceptions (generic delta on more than one date field, pool/cluster tables and structures).
Function Module
A custom Function Module can be coded for the extraction of data for a generic DataSource. This type would be appropiate if you're extracting data from pool/cluster tables or structures. Another use for a Function Module as the source for a generic DataSource would be if you're going to use more than one data field for a generic delta. Finally, a Function Module would be used if there is some transformational-type logic required to be done on the extracted data before it is passed to BW.
InfoSet Query
An InfoSet (not to be confused with an InfoSet in BW) query in a source R3/ECC environment, is created in tocde SQ01, and is a way of creating "quick-and-dirty" reports with summarized values, derived values, et. al. This can be used as the basis for a DataSource, if the queries are already built. If not, then a Function Module can perform and necessary aggregations, derivations or other transformational-type logic, instead of creating a query. I say this because I'd highly discourage using this as a source for a generic DataSource because InfoSet queries are usually extremely inefficient and can consume a lot of the valuable system resources.

Extracting data from Excel To Illustrator javascript or vbscript

Hi all-
I was wondering if there was a way to extract data from Excel to be used in Illustrator. I know there is an option of variables and xml, and I don't want that. I've seen and tried out how to read illustrator and write to excel, and I get that. What I would like to do is pretty much the opposite:
1.Pre-fill in an Excel file(.xls,.csv, doesn't matter) with data such as a filename in column 1 and (Replacement Text) in column 2 and close manually.
2. Run script(VBSCRIPT,Javascript, doesn't matter)
3.For each column in Excel file where cell in first column is not empty, open Illustrator Template with placeholder of "DWG" textframe and replace the frame titled "DWG" with Replacement text from Excel in Column2.
4, Save each to a PDF file and name file with text from Excel Column1(Filename)
In a nutshell, there will be a single illustrator template with a premade textFrame with a name of "DWG". Excel will contain two columns, one for the filename to be named and one for the relative text to replace with the placeholder in AI. I hoped I explained this well enough without causing too much confusion. Thanks in advance.

Extract Month & Year From Date

Hi All,
I have a key figure quantity and i want the data on date,for the month and for the year.
i create the variables for the date,for the month(ie from date to date) and for the year(ie, from date to date) seperatly that means i have three input variables which may sometimes create confusion.
My problem is that I want to enter only date and the variable itself calculate the month and year from the date so that it returns the data as desired above.
for eg. : Now i to enter date : 3/14/2009
          enter MTD (FROM/TO) : 3/01/2009 - 3/14/2009
          enter YTD (FROM/TO) : 4/01/2008 - 3/14/2009
I want to enter only date : 3/14/2009
and the variable itself extract the month and year till date.
and also the same variable calculates number of days so that need not to take the formula variable of date difference to calculate the average qty.

Is there a feed cleaner- upper program :-) that I can use for my messed up feed in feedburner? what are the minimum steps to put under a new episode "item"    Do I need an enclosure withe mp3 < new episode> for each new episode? I want to just use the album art on my original itune podcast and just add new episodes to my podcast. I am so confused and frustrated.   :-(

I hate to tell you this but I am not aware of a way that you can. Either you will have to get it out of the radius server or copy the config from the old wlc to the new wlc. Like a PSK its encrypted and you cant extract it.

How to extract iPhone 4 video?!

A friend took an iPhone 4 video of me, but we're having the hardest time getting it off the phone - either using iPhone Explorer to my MBP, or regular Apple sync to her MBP. We can play the video on the phone, but have been unable to see it or extract it from any computer.
Having a nice video camera is great, but how do we get the videos off so we can use them? Totally stumped.

The confusion in my mind, clarified by your responses, is that iPhone 4 manages video with the tools used (and named) for still photos, yet the default still photo behavior (to automatically sync) does not seem to apply to video.
Anyway, now I know.

Problem in extraction of the file.

When trying the download of the browser I pressed run in run/save option. Later the computer screen shows the file is corrupt and the extraction fails.
Pls,guide what shall I do to download the browser.

What, exactly, did you download and extract? If it was the "Eclipse IDE
for C/C++ Developers" package, then you've got everything you need. Make
sure to read the "Find out more..." link on the downloads page.
To run, there should just be an executable named "eclipse." But I'm not
a Linux user so I can't offer any more insight.

Master Data and Transaction Data For DB Connect extracted Data...

Dear Experts,
I have been working on SAP NetWeaver BW 7.3 and for the first time I have extracted data from Oracle DBMS by using DB Connect. I have successfully extracted data of a View namely Sales_View into BW by creating a DataSource. This View has about 100 fields and I have been told that this view consists of Master Data and Transaction Data too. For my further reporting needs say building a Dashboard or InfoSpace I have to design a DSO and InfoCube for this DataSource. I'm bit confused about the Master Data and Transaction Data of this DataSource.
1. Should I create all custom InfoObject against all fields of DataSource for DSO and InfoCube design?
2. Do I need to create and load the Master Data for all InfoObjects or I need to create or load the Master Data for only those InfoOjects which will be
used for drill down or reporting in Dashboard or InfoSpace?
3. Do I need to load the Master Data manually by creating Flat Files and using these files for Master Data loading for required objects?
4. How should I approach the designing of DSO and InfoCube?
I will appreciate your inputs in this matter.

Data Extraction from SAP R/3 Table View in BW

Dear All,
I am trying to create a BW query from SAP R/3 Table View.
Till now i have created a table view
Extracted Data source in R/3 Useing Tcode : RSA3
In BW Side
1. I have replicated the data source in Source system
2. Created info object
and info object catalog
and assigned it
Now i am little confused over what to do next
wheather to create ODS object in info cube,
Please guide me with rest of steps to follow.

Hi,
After replicating DS in BW, you have to maintain ODS or Cube for maintaining data in BW.
After loading data into Data Targets you can create Reports based on those Data Targets.
For better reporting performance you can create Cube rather ODS.
Info Source(After Creating info Objects, you have to create a Transfer Structure to map the Fields.)
Then create a Data Target ODS/Cube.
Update rules

Data extraction from R/3 Hierarchies to BW

I am not comfortable with uploading of Hierarchies from r/3 to BW. i always get confused .
My reporting Scenario is to show cost center ( Regions ), Cost element group , costelements under it and amount corresponds to it.
In R/3 I could see Hierarchy build on costelement and cost centers.
i need to extract the data from r/3 to BW inorder to show same in my report.
please don't ask me to go through the sap help. i have already gone through it and am confused .
my confusions are
i need to maintain costelement group in external characteristic in costelement. and how this costelement group and costcenter hierarchy will combine.
please through ligth on this.

Have you tried to look through RSA5 with any datasources with patterns of Cost, cost element, and Hier that may meet your requirements.
From the BW test system you can replicate the datsources and see if the hier will load.
Also do a search for uploading hier form flat file. You can also write an ABAP to do this using sets. Do a search on GS01.
