Fiber upgraded but didn't bother to issue me a router!

I would just like to say how appaulled I am with the level of service I am receiving. I upgraded from Sky broadband Unlimited to Fiber Unlimited on June 20th. I then had my sky broadband disconnected & had my fiber activated on June 30th. I attempted to use my service but it was not connected. I called sky support to find out that I had not been issued with a new router to use my fiber. It is now 6th July & still no router. I gave them a call & I was told that I will be compensated from the connection time to the time I receive my router. Well to be honest that should be obviouse but by no means of any sort of compensation. I have listings on eBay & I also do internet banking to much of my shopping online. I have had to spend money to use my dongle so I have some sort of internet.  The guy told me thats all they can do & I just lost my temper & hung up! When I do get my router I am going to call back & expect not only to be refunded for the amount of days I have had no internet but for the inconveniance caused or I will just say well, keep your services & cancel the lot. There's been ample time for someone to realize no router has been issued for my upgrade & it took 2 phone calls for someone to realize & have one issued & I am still waiting. 

What router do you currently have is it the Sr101 (white Sky Hub) or the Sr102 (black Sky Hub) or is it none of those?
Regarding compensation Sky are under no obligation to offer anything other than a loss of service credit so your very unlikely to get any out of pocket expenses refunded(and they certainly won't offer anything for any losses by not making listings on eBay). Edit Just read from another post of yours that you have a white Sky hub so you could buy an Openreach modem off of eBay or other online sites that way you would be able to get up and running and keep using the router you have instead of the much criticised Sr102(plus you'd have a back up just in case of a failure).

After approx 40 mins on the phone with discussions between the the agent and her manager they agreed to send me a  free HH4 which I have now received. Stand your ground if you want one.

  • My iTunes match on my MacBook Pro hasn't worked since Mountain Lion install. Tried Apple Tech but all their suggestions didn't solve the issue. Guess I will try them again on Monday. Clearly this is a common problem and a Mountian Lion conflict issue.

    iTunes match hasn't worked since Mountain Lion install. Cloud icon keeps striking~ off. Won't upload new tracks to iTunes match. Just the eternal circle of step one, two, freeze....then tries again but never gets completed. Worked fine before Mountain Lion. Apple tech tried over phone for an hour but it didn't solve this issue. See others are in the same boat. Any help with this, please??

    Same issue here with a MacBook pro recently upgraded to Mountain Lion.  I hadn't tried iTunes Match prior to the upgrade so can't say whether or not it worked previously.
    Getting quite frustrated!

    I have both versions of Firefox on my laptop since I decided to try the Firefox 4 Beta 12. I expected the Beta to replace the 3.16.5 I already had on there, but they coexist. I am using the Beta so I can test it, but am having a couple of issues with speed I didn't have before, and a couple of times the browser will freeze or be nonresponsive in the middle of something. Didn't have that issue before. I'm not a geek, so don't know, forgive me if this is an elementary issue.

    This is the normal precedure for Firefox beta installations. They don't replace the previous versions. Also the freezing you're expieriencing probably has something to do with the Beta using the same profile as the older version. To fix this, create a fresh profile.     There are two easy fixes to this.
    One, you can set up Family Sharing, in which you can have two different iCloud Accounts, yet still share the same apps, music, media etc.
    Two, go to Settings and turn-off "Handoff". This can be found under the General page.

    Be careful with Windows Updates, especially driver updates. Standard WHQL drivers can cause problems.

    Do you mean the Bookmarks Menu button on the Navigation Toolbar?
    You only see that button if the menu bar is hidden.

    Open a Finder window. Select MacintoshHD in the Sidebar on the left then open the LIbrary folder, then the Preferences folder, then the System Configuration folder.
    Move all the files from the System Configuration folder to the Trash.
    Restart your Mac. Try AirPort.

    No, if they bought it, then its theirs. You may wish to contract iTS for options in case it was part of the Mac Acceptance.

    I can't speak about this occurring with FaceBook since I don't use FaceBook, but I see the same type of thing when I copy and pasted from websites. It doesn't always happen and I cannot find any particular set of circumstances under which it occurs or does not occur.
    I am merely responding to let you know that it happens to me as well and I have seen no way to correct it. I'm not so sure that there is a way to correct in in that it may have something to do with how the original text is formatted in the PDF or on the website and how it eventually "fits" into the text field or the area in which it is pasted.

  • How to upgrade the schema on both the sites using sql scripts?

    Hi Experts,
    I need some help.
    I have two sites SITE A and SITEB, on both the sites GG is installed and running (DML Bi- directional replication). I have schema SCHEMA1 on both the sites which are configured for replication and replication is working from last one year.
    Now I wanted to upgrade the SCHEMA1 on both the sites. There are three .sql script which has many SQL commands like create table, create sequence, create procedure, insert record etc. I wanted to run that SQL file one both the sites.
    So should I stop all the process on both the sites SITEA and SITE B (including manager process) ,execute the SQL scripts on both the sites and then start the process again ? Will it work?
    Is there any other best way to do this?
    Could you please suggest the steps so that I can successfully execute theses scripts on both the site to upgrade the schema1.

    There is no blanket answer here; it depends. Main questions are:
    1. Do the SQL scripts update existing tables?
    2. Are you replicating DDL in one direction? (DDL should only be replicated one way even when doing bi-directional, do DDL should only be issued on the node capturing DDL
    3. Are you using a wildcard (*) from table names or using an explicit list?
    Easiest thing is if you're replicating DDL from A to B and apply DDL to A only. This assumes that the application writing to these tables can handle DDL changes under the covers. If these are new tables supporting new application features then you would simply enable said features after apply sql files.
    From there it gets more complicated and would need answers to the above questions before going down each line of logic. But try to remember what's really going on here. Data in one form (DDL) is being captured and send along. If the "shape" (DDL) of that data changes then the extract and replicat need to update their meta data to handle it correctly. If change data encounters a different shape than what's cached then you will become out of sync.
    I'm not sure if that makes sense but again, the answers to the questions above will be indicate where more detailed explanations should be focused. In short, we need more detail about what those scripts do and your current setup.

    iCloud support is tied to your hardware serial number: you might do better to try iTunes Store support. Go to https://expresslane.apple.com ; select 'All Products and Services' in the first column, 'iTunes' in the second column and then 'iTunes Store' in the third column.
    If they won't help you, then try iCloud Support.
    To contact  iCloud Support: if you currently happen to have AppleCare, either because you recently bought Apple hardware or have paid to extend the inititial period, you can contact them here:

    You will need the serial number of the covered hardware.
    If you are not covered by AppleCare, then - in common with other free services - there is no free support and you may initially be asked to pay a fee, but as this is a purchase issue you should be able to persuade them to deal with it without charge.
