? Fibre Broadband upgrade, lost connection to Airport Express. Help Please.

Hi All,
Eircom (Ireland) upgraded their broadband to fibre high speed broadband. (Was 8 whatevers and is now 50 whatevers speed)
iPhone 5 x 2, iPad, MacBook Pro and smart TV all picked up the new WiFi and they are all working well.
Except;
I play my music through Airport Express , and speakers and this is not being picked up by Airport Utility. When I open Airport Utliity it scans and then says I may be out of range or plug it in again.
I have Airport Express plugged in beside the MacBook and all it does is blink amber looking for a signal.
Airport Express 802.11n WiFi is the model.
Any sugggestions please

Lost connection to airport express

I changed the password on my router for my wireless internet connection today, and have now lost connection with the airport express.
WHen I go to Airport Utility it is no longer showing the Airport EXpress as one of the connected devices.
I have unplugged the Express, done a hard reset on it. I have restarted my Macbook Air, but nothing assists me in Airport Utility picking up the additional device. Should I connect the Airport Express with an ethernet cable maybe to get everything working again?

I have a problem I hope you can help me. Recently i bought a airport express in order to use as access point ( Extend an existing Wi-Fi network’s range )
but i cannot connect it. I chose the option "join to existing wireless network" but continues the orange flash light on the device.
My modem is Motorola SVG-2501.
Please, how can i connect it.

Unfortunately, Apple designed the "extend" function to only work with other Apple routers.
It would be extremely unlikely that the AirPort Express could "extend" the signal of the Motorola product that you have, using wireless only.
The Express could be configured as a wireless access point if you connect an Ethernet cable from the Motorola product to the Express.

Not recognising airport express - HELP PLEASE

Hello,
unexpectedly I can no longer see one of my two airport expresses in Airport Admin Utility. The other is visible and acting as the base station, connected to the internet and running v6.2.
I have tried the soft, hard and factory resets.
It was working fine this morning, then I changed the password on the base station and suddenly it was no longer visibilie although the first re airport ex remained visible throughout. I hqve now disabled security using Airport admin but all I get is a flashing amber light on the second AX. Any thoughts?

I have an iP4500, which I assume is quite similar to your model.
I had to reset the printing system to get things printing again. Only takes a few minutes and no problems at all since I did it a week ago or so.
Plug the printer into the USB port on the Express and restart the printer.
Open System Preferences (gear icon on the dock) and then open Print and Fax
Right-Click in the printer area on the left and select Reset Printing System
Then click the + (plus) button at the bottom of the printer list to install the printer again.

Connection to airport express fails after iTunes 10.1.1.4 upgrade !

Before ugrading iTunes to V10.1.1.4, everything was OK and I was listening music from itunes through airTunes with my airport express V 6.3.
Since I've upgraded iTunes, when à play a song, I've the error msg "cannot connect to [airport express name]. network connection failure"
It's the second time, I've connection problems to airport express after an iTunes upgrade !
First time was just after uorgrade from iTunes 9 to iTunes 10.
I had to wait for a new iTunes upgrade to fix up the problem (nearly 1 month !)
I'm a bit angry with iTunes and that kind of problems just before christmas !

Yes, there's an exception for Bonjour in the firewall (Bonjour is allowed)
I've try to re-add the "APAgent" which control Airports and restart the firewall but it didn't worked...
The only solution I've found was to desactivate Windows firewall...
(Firewall of my ADSL box is activated).
Maybe I should try to repair iTunes Installation like WPLU...

After upgrading to OS 10.8.1 I can no longer scan from my Canon MP240 printer when it is connected to Airport Express.

I can no longer scan from printer (Canon Pixma MP240) when it is connected to Airport Express, although printing is no affected. However, when connected directly to MBP scanning works fine. I have tried all the standard remedies; reinstalling drivers, resetting printer system, selecting sharing options, but no luck. Previous to Mountain Lion this function worked fine. Any ideas how to regain this capability?

I'm almost completely certain that the scanning feature worked before the update. Having said that though, I don't scan a great deal and it may be the case that when I have done, the printer was directly connected to the MBP. However, since I have a laptop it's far more logical that I would have had the printer connected to Airport Express for reasons of portability so I can't really see that I would have had the printer connected directly to the laptop. Besides this, I have no memory of having this problem previously. Therefore, I don't think my memory is to blame although of course, if it were I'd have no way of knowing!

Xbox 360 wireless adapter wont connect to Airport Express/cant find ip

i have a time warner modem with the ethernet cable plugged into my airport express to create a wireless network in my house. my macbook and dell connect with no prob.
the xb recognizes the airport express, shows it as connected with green bars, but when i try to log into xbox online, it says that there is no connection.
i can plug in the ethernet cable from the xb to the airport ex and there is no problem. only when trying to use the wireless adapter.
how can i stop this? also, how can i find my IP address?
since the xb wouldnt connect and find my ip automatically, i tried to do it manually. when i go to terminal on my macbook and enter "ipconfig e0", i dont see an IP address.
i have seen a lot of info on this but it mainly deals with airport extreme or those who are trying to connect to airport express with an ethernet cable.
so if you can help me troubleshoot the wireless connection between my xb and my airport ex OR explain how i can find my IP address, i would be very grateful.
FYI---the airport express was purchased in april, so i believe it is the new "n" model.

Gary Sanborn, please share your tricks. I'm curious to know how you got it to work. I used to have the old Express and that worked just fine. The new version (n) doesn't seem to connect to xbox live. As previously stated, mine also shows "connected" and a strong green bar signal on the xbox but the text can't get passed "connected to live"... if I'm not mistaken.
I heard about holding down the option button white selected the type of wireless connection and connecting to wireless b only. I would want to avoid this option. I don't want my express to run that slow. Please advice. Thanks in advance.
By the way, I haven't tried it since recently upgrading to OS X 10.5.3. I wasn't sure if that affected airport's connectivity with xbox 360.

Can't get itunes to connect to airport express via air tunes

Hi,
I just bought and installed an airport express (for windows 7) everything is now connected but i can't get itunes to recognize my airport express via air tunes. I can see the multiple speakers in itunes, but when i click on it to connect to airport it just comes up with connecting, loads for about a minute then minimizes without connecting.
Has anyone else experienced this? How can i get this to work?

You've probaby solved this by now, but if not... When upgrading itunes on a Vista or Windows 7 machine with Windows Firewall running for some reason Bonjour can't get through the firewall and thus Airplay does not work. Not good when all your Hi-fi's are connected via airport express!
I found to resolve the issue you have to install an older version of Bonjour. It won't work if you try to do this straight from Apple. So try this...
1. Firstly install and older version of itunes from the web (say version 10.1) Try www.oldapps.com
2. Then find the Bonjour file in program files
3. Cut and paste it to your desktop with its contents
4. Uninstall itunes and Bonjour via your control panel (the desktop file of Bonjour you moved will still be there).
5. Install your new version of itunes, say version 10.5, from the apple website.
6. Before opening it go to program files and cut the (newly installed) Bonjour file and paste it somewhere different to the desktop (you can't just delete it). It does not matter where you won't be needing it.
7. Now Cut and paste the old version of Bonjour you stuck on the desktop in Program files in place of the one you just moved.
8. Hey presto, Airplay, Windows firewall and your Airport Express' should all get on again.

Trying to connect my airport express to my home WIFI

I have been trying to connect a airport express to my home WIFI connection for the purpose of wirelessly transmitting itunes to my Alfresco area using my iphone as a remote.
The problem i currently have is that the airport does not seem to pick up my wireless broadband.
My router is a Netgear dgnd3700.
The procedure i followed so far is : 1. Reset the airport back to factory settings.
2. Plug the ethernet cable in and open airport utility.
3. Tick the circle saying " join existing network ". Here's the problem, my wireless network does not show up.
I can type in the name of my network and also the password but the airport is not picking up the signal .... i cant choose a network.
I can create a new network no worries and connect devices to it but that's not what i'm after. I'd like to join my existing network so i can transmit itunes to my amp.
I've gone through the discussion forum but can't find an answer. I have also tried to manually set up the connection .. same result.
Any help would be great ... i'm about to give up and think it was abad idea ....

If it is the old G version Express you cannot use 6.3 utility.
You must use the 5.6 utility.
How to load 5.6 into ML.
1. Download 5.6 for Lion.

Click to open the dmg but do not attempt to install the pkg.. it won't work anyway.
Leave the package open on the desktop so you can see the file. AirportUtility56.pkg
2. Download and install unpkg.

Run unpkg on the desktop.. If your Mac refuses to run the software, because it wasn’t downloaded from the Apple store, go to security in preferences and allow other software to work.. this is limitation of trade methinks. You can set back later if you like.
Now drag the AirPortUtility56.pkg file over to unpkg.. and it will create a new directory of the same name on the desktop.. in finder, open the new directory, drill down.. applications, utilities .. there lo and behold is Airport utility 5.6 .. drag it to your main utilities directory or just run it from current location.
You cannot uninstall version 6 (now 6.3 if you updated) so don't try.. and you cannot or should not run them both at the same time.. although I have had no problems when doing so.

Connection to Airport Express

I have set up the connection to Airport Express. It was working perfectly (green light), and suddendly I have lost my connection (but the Green light is still ON). Right now, I am connected to a wireless of my neighboor (with Airport of course!!!!) , but it is not a solution.
Anyone has any idea to help me?

What is your current network configuration with the AirPort Express Base Station (AX)? Is it something like as follows:
Cable modem > (Ethernet cable) > [Ethernet port] AX > (wireless) > iMac?

Canon PIXMA MX310 causes computers to lose connection to Airport Express

I just bought a Canon PIXMA MX310 printer and tried to connect it to my Airport Express so I can print from both my computers wirelessly. As soon as I connected the USB cable to the printer from the Express, both computers lost connection to Airport. I tried every solution I could think of, but the printer seems to not work this way, and the only way I can get my network connection back is to UNPLUG the printer from Airport. Is there a way to fix this?

Finally solved my problem on my own... After doing a LOT of trouble shooting, I somehow managed to get my wireless connection back between the computers and Airport Express (still don't know how I did it), but anyway... the printer is connected properly as instructed in the Airport instructions, and when I tried to print something, I discovered I needed to select the Bonjour popup menu and find my printer from that list in the printer window. Duh...

Connecting an Airport Express...

I keep forgetting... I just upgraded to the latest Airport Extreme. I have two Airport Express extenders that wouldn't connect.
I'd forgotten that the simple fix is to connect the Airport Express by ethernet, configure it, and then set it loose to its final location.
I'm hoping this will help someone as forgetful as me and, like me, was searching for the fix.

Here are the basic steps to configure an extended wireless network with your 802.11n AirPorts:
Dynamic WDS - Extending a Wireless Network Setup
If practical, place the base stations in near proximity to each other during the setup phase. Once done, move them to their desired locations.
Open AirPort Utility, and then, select the base station that will connect to the Internet.
Choose Manual Setup from the Base Station menu, or double-click the base station to open the configuration in a separate window. Enter the base station password if necessary.
Click AirPort in the toolbar, and then, click Wireless.
Choose “Create a wireless network” from the Wireless Mode pop-up menu, and then, select the “Allow this network to be extended” checkbox.
Next, select the base station that will extend this network, and then, choose Manual Setup from the Base Station menu, or double-click the base station to open its configuration in a separate window. Enter the base station password if necessary.
Choose “Extend a wireless network” from the Wireless Mode pop-up menu, and then, choose the network you want to extend from the Network Name pop-up menu.
Enter the base station network and base station password if necessary.
Click Update to update the base station with new network settings.

You cannot.
The USB port on the AirPort Express allow sharing a printer with Windows and Mac OS X, not with iOS:
